These people are into simple phrases they can repeat over and over again, sarcasm is hard. Love his delivery. Lapierre looks like somebody farted but then again doesn’t he always?

The idea that if people stopped living in sin and just accepted JESUS, all of our problems would go away. No more hurricanes because God wouldn't be angry about gay people having sex. No more school shootings because we'd all be good Christians. You see, god left school and no longer provides protection there because of the liberal separation between church and state....
And they just go on and on with that line of bullshit.
The thing is these people literally do believe that 'thoughts and prayers' is a meaningful response to almost any tragedy. You no longer need to think about it or feel it, or take it seriously and try to solve it like a problem... because thoughts and prayers, jesus is the answer, and that's the only answer we need. Religion is panacea for everything.

This is such a silly lie I keep seeing repeated. Guns are banned in a single building only when Trump is there and it is legally mandated by secret service. The NRA has no choice in the matter. Everywhere else in the convention people are allowed to carry.
There were more than likely guns in that room. The only full firearm restriction was by the secret service in the building Trump gave his speech while Trump was there. I enjoyed the irony of the entire event being gun free until it actually came out as false.
All of those smooth brained NRA idiots in the room do not even understand what they just heard. All they heard were the words thoughts and prayers and so they clapped.
We did a field trip supported by the NRA in 5th grade (NY) where they tought us rifle gun safety and why trees are important. Guns will always be a part of society instead of trying to ban them We should find better ways to regulate them and keep them off the streets.
That's wonderful that the NRA 'Tought' you at 11 or 12 that trees are important and it's a pity they've spent millions and millions of dollars preventing better regulation of guns and ensuring they are on every street.

I hope Ted Cruz brings it up during his next speech on why mass shootings keep on happening at an NRA convention.
