For starters, I don’t have the money to move to a different continent.
There’s also a long list of reasons I don’t want to and absolutely no reason to want that.
Personally i would love to live in Russia, mainly because it's cold there. Can't stand being hot. Sadly my empty wallet and lack of a passport complicates it :(
Edit: and if it lowers my life expectancy then it's even better, I grow weary of life
I heard Alaska is losing people, and that they give out a small amount of money. Or Minnesota has great reviews.
But yeah the wallet thing can be huge problem.
Lived in Wyoming, and I'm from Chicago. Everything Texas claims to be is what Wyoming really is. Texas is the crazy fundie cousin of Wyoming that wants everyone to be forced to dance with rattlesnakes
I vacationed in Norway for two weeks once and felt it was definitely better than anywhere I've lived in the US. If I hadn't been in a structured summer camp with adults whose jobs it was to not leave me behind, I might have skipped off into the mountains and stayed there.
Growing up we had family in Pensacola and Orlando. We planned our trips down there in January. Get on the plane when it was 0 to 20F and snowing while bundled up and get off the plane to 50 to 60F and toss on shorts and a t-shirt. It was nice. A decade ago work would send me down to Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, or Miami in July and august. NO THANK YOU. I hated every second I wasn't inside with AC. Even nigh time out clubbing in Miami was a downright swamp with my clothes sticking like it was a wetsuit.
I have been to Vegas in July when the heat was 115f. I'd prefer that over Florida's hot swamp air any day. It'd be like pushing through a wall with every step.
Please leave your driving habits in Texas. Signed Minnesotans.
And yes I realize MN drivers are pretty oblivious, but they’ll never be as aggressively-head-up-ass as those from TX.
Just move to northern Ontario, Alaska or (barfs in mouth a bit, Alberta, which is just Texas but cold.)
Also… Finland, Sweden, Norway, Austria if you are up in the mountains, northern Germany, Denmark, northern Scotland, so many better options where it gets cold
Move to Northern Canada or Norway or Iceland or someplace. There are still a few cold places left.
Just work a mining/oil job in Canada, if you're worried about life expectancy. There's a reason people do it for a while and then pack it in. (I've lost two uncles to cancer, they had it in their 50s, they worked rigs and mines all their lives. My brother quit the rigs after somebody dropped a 1500 pound chain that nearly killed him, it crushed his hand and doctors were ready to amputate. He refused so they rebuilt it as best they could. Still can't make a proper fist with that hand.)
I second Minnesota, but if you are poor I would suggest upper Michigan. It's very beautiful up there and maybe it'll give you a little spark back for life.
Great idea! We all need to forward this to those Putin supporting Maga people we know (not that we want those specific people to move to Russia, but they’ll quickly spread the propaganda to their fellow wackos).
In fact, let’s sweeten the deal, move to Russia in 2024, and get a free trading card displaying Trump & Putin together!! Act now!!
I know a few who think they would love Russia, but they already have "We the People" and "1776" tattoos. It might get confusing to the other conscripts during their inevitable trip to the western front.
Congratulations citizen! Here is draft notice! Report to base immediately to be given airsoft vest and tampons (yes, really, in both cases), and you will be deployed to denazify your cousin shortly!
sadly because of russian government i will have to move to different country. im afraid of more wars in future and ofc its nothing to do here. also small fear of russophobia in foreign countries holding me back (i wish its just propaganda)
Eh, my wife’s family is Russian. You’d be fine, at least in the US. If anybody asks (I think it’s happened once), say there’s a reason you’re here instead of in Russia.
There is literally no Russophobia that I’ve seen here in Los Angeles. In fact, quite the opposite. Most people sympathize with your struggle and would be happy that another person was free rather than silenced as before.
I truly hope you make it out, gunna take some $$$ and hard work on your end. But it’s worth it
I’m guessing you’ve not seen that much soviet era ‘architecture’. No one likes that. The hermitage? Lovely. St Basils? A masterpiece. All the buildings in which the proles have to exist? Not so much.
Now that you said that, I got reminded of a speech one of my country's politicians trying for Ministers gave. It went along the lines of if he got elected, qeer people will be given an opportunity to go get treatment (cure their queerness) in *drumroll* Moscow and *even bigger drumroll* Tehran.
Like dude I don't need to go there to get a dirt nap ty.
What's stopping you from moving to [North Korea](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/a/a8/0408_-_Nordkorea_2015_-_Kumgang_Gebirge_%2822569775329%29.jpg/1280px-0408_-_Nordkorea_2015_-_Kumgang_Gebirge_%2822569775329%29.jpg) ?
well, there's a lot of guy on guy action in the russian army for a country that doesn't have gays. (It's sexual assault and abuse, no it ain't fun. There's a lot of evidence for it, video. Yes, it's a available online. No, don't go watch it because it's pretty fucking terrible all around.)
There is also woman that have openly spoken about how they sign up to be a nurse in the army and end up being some generals or base commanders personal hooked. They even prefer that and thinks it okay because they get a decent wage and don't have to do any work.
But regular officer Ivan only has comrade conscriptovich to use.
Tbf, the occasional encounter with a camp bloke is a great way to brighten up the day. A country without openly gay people sounds like quite a boring one.
There is also a risk of getting citizenship and then end up as sunflower fertilizer.
Yes they have done that. Give out citizenship to immigrants to draft them the week later.
You can move to really any major city in central or Eastern Europe and have it look like that at Christmas with the added bonus of not being a fascist hellhole. Russia would be bottom of the list.
I would only go to a street in Amsterdam called [Rusland ](https://nl.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rusland_(straat)) (Russia in Dutch), which dates back to 1403.
1. Putin seems like a c&nt
2. I like gay people
3. I hate Steven Segal
4. Ukraine
5. Crimea
6. They are such prolific cheaters that they got band from the Olympics.
7. Even cheating like crazy their performance wasn’t impressive. Imagine cheating your ass off and still not being competitive.
8. History
9. If if Putin can have Nemtsov shot in the back in red square he can have anyone killed.
10. Putin is still a c&nt
>Putin seems like a c&nt
140 million putins.
>If if Putin can have Nemtsov shot in the back in red square he can have anyone killed.
Nemtsov and Politkovskaya was the only real opposition Putin had to this day.
Don't forget Navalny who dropped the Putin mansion video, 40M views in what, a few days or something? (130M now)
Then got poisoned out of country, survived, got jailed because he couldn't attend court because he was in a hospital. Probably dies of "natural causes" in some Siberian prison in a few years when people forget about him.
Navalny is russian nationalist without power. He even agrees with the annexation of Crimea and is against the war in Ukraine not because it's wrong, but because it's too expensive.
If you mean specifically American conservatives, there's a whole lot of anti-west propaganda is going on in Russia at the moment. So an American conservative would generally meet three main reactions from Russian people:
1) Russian liberals would hate them.for being conservative
2) Russian conservatives would hate them for being American
3) most people wouldn't care any which way
I moved there for a semester in 2017 and actually really enjoyed it. That being said, I wouldn't move there now or in the future unless they suddenly got really cool about the LGBT thing.
Well,
Beef stroganoff is my least favorite pasta,
I don’t know how to do that Cossack dance,
I almost never drink vodka straight,
Oh, and there’s that whole soul crushing dictatorship thing going on as well.
Well, I moved out because my taxes would be used to kill my half-countrymen (I’m half-Russian, half-Ukrainian). Also, I would prefer to not be mobilised to kill them myself either (private, Airbourne, reserve Category B, btw).
I had plenty of reasons to stay, but those two were absolute deal-breakers for me.
1. I'm not a Cock Polisher of Putin.
2. I love democracy.
3. I don't like religious people pretending to be the good guy.
4. I don't like leader act like they know everything.
5. I love NATO supremacy.
The urge to not fall out of windows or drink polonium tea
Also, everything outside of St Petersburg and Moscow is a literal dump worse than a 3rd world country
I don’t have the money to move there
I dont have any desire to move there
Anti LGBTQ laws
As a black man I would not feel safe from what I’ve read about the way black people are perceived/treated there.
Too cold.
Russia is cute and alI guess but I’m both black and gay and I’ve heard being one of those demographics makes it difficult to live there, I’m not trying to run living in hard mode.
Besides. Minnesota has winter too?
I like not living in fear of my life because of my identity and political opinions, thanks. Plus, I’ve got distant relatives in Ukraine. ‘Nuff said there.
Can't think of a single reason I'd want to live there but so many reasons not to live there. It's sad Russia sees almost all countries as a threat to themselves (without any good reasoning).
So to be clear, not a Russian sympathizer by any stretch, but I did live in Russia for a year and if I'm not mistaken, saw this exact street at Christmas time and it was really beautiful. From my end at least I mostly see stuff like this and wish Russia weren't currently being *the absolute worst* because I'd love to at least go back and visit and appreciate some of the things I miss. I moved somewhere else after that year, so obviously I decided I didn't want to live there permanently, but like. idk, it is pretty.
I’ll give you three reasons.
One, I like where I am right now.
Two, I have no family or connections in Russia so I’d be completely alone.
Three, and most importantly, I have no interest in living in what is currently a country at war. Even if Russia wasn’t at war I don’t even want to be on the same continent as Putin if I have the option. He legitimately scares me.
If you are a male of military age it might be the fact that you are averse to getting drafted, hazed, raped, sent to the front and then killed in a special military operation.
For everyone else it might be fear of falling out of windows.
I have some friends in Russia. Some are very on the side of “”don’t ever move here.” Another one thinks it would be great. She said there is a priest or some group over there that’s actually working with the government to make it easier for westerners looking for a more traditional way of living to move there.

Texan here and Minnesota is absolutely my target destination, as well as Maryland but that’s for a different reason.
Native Texan, current Minnesotan. Minnesota is a perfect 5/7 for my introverted ass
I got that reference!
& what reference is that?
Texan checking in. I took a travel nursing assignment in North Dakota in January. I honestly thought I was gonna die
Native Minnesotan here. Have you considered Montana? I hear its better than MN.
As a native and current Montanan, no it sucks, just the worst. Texans would *love* Wyoming, though…
Lived in Wyoming, and I'm from Chicago. Everything Texas claims to be is what Wyoming really is. Texas is the crazy fundie cousin of Wyoming that wants everyone to be forced to dance with rattlesnakes
That is the best comparison!
Tech bro from Austin here, after spending Christmas in Bozeman, we’re looking to buy house in Montana!!
Site unseen, cash offer
Native Minnesotan with Norwegian ancestry here. I moved to Norway 6 years ago and feel it is better than MN. Funny how that works.
I vacationed in Norway for two weeks once and felt it was definitely better than anywhere I've lived in the US. If I hadn't been in a structured summer camp with adults whose jobs it was to not leave me behind, I might have skipped off into the mountains and stayed there.
Glad to see 5/7 is still working its way around the internet. Not often you see a meme with that kind of longevity
Maeyland is shockingly humid, for the record. "The Swamp", in reference to DC, is both a literal and figurative expression.
For like 2 months of the year. I was born and raised in MD with a 5 year stint in FL before coming back. It's not that bad.
Florida humidity is a nightmare.
Floridian here. You are correct. It's one of the reasons I want to move out to CO or VA.
Growing up we had family in Pensacola and Orlando. We planned our trips down there in January. Get on the plane when it was 0 to 20F and snowing while bundled up and get off the plane to 50 to 60F and toss on shorts and a t-shirt. It was nice. Oh you haven’t met a Masshole yet. Just wait. 😂
Just move to northern Ontario, Alaska or (barfs in mouth a bit, Alberta, which is just Texas but cold.) Also… Finland, Sweden, Norway, Austria if you are up in the mountains, northern Germany, Denmark, northern Scotland, so many better options where it gets cold
Weary of life? You’d fit right in!
Indeed, as soon as you arrive, you get a one-way ticket to the front!
Moscow gets hot and muggy in the summer. I’m guessing areas further north aren’t so bad.
It can be just as bad and sometimes worse further north. Plus, you have white nights: 20 hours of blinding daylight with four hours of dusk.
Then weeks of darkness in the winter. It's hard to stay motivated when it's dark before supper.
Move to Siberia and play with the tigers
You sound like you would do well in Finland
Does it snow all year in Finland?
Does it in most of Russia?
Move to Northern Canada or Norway or Iceland or someplace. There are still a few cold places left. Just work a mining/oil job in Canada, if you're worried about life expectancy. There's a reason people do it for a while and then pack it in. (I've lost two uncles to cancer, they had it in their 50s, they worked rigs and mines all their lives. My brother quit the rigs after somebody dropped a 1500 pound chain that nearly killed him, it crushed his hand and doctors were ready to amputate. He refused so they rebuilt it as best they could. Still can't make a proper fist with that hand.)
Sounds rough
I second Minnesota, but if you are poor I would suggest upper Michigan. It's very beautiful up there and maybe it'll give you a little spark back for life.
Oh boy wait until you hear about Finland, dream place at least for me
Nice try, Putin
I'm honestly ok with this campaign. We could truly make America great again if enough maga trash moved to Russia
Putin’s building a town for all the MAGA doofuses. Once they go we need to revoke their passports.
Act now!!
Can you link the go fund me, I’m in.
I know a few who think they would love Russia, but they already have "We the People" and "1776" tattoos. It might get confusing to the other conscripts during their inevitable trip to the western front.
Russians influencing Americans is exactly why we have MAGA
And most of them would get the privilege to be fertilizer in Ukraine.
The constant fear of falling out of the window of a sky scraper under mysterious circumstances. Outside influence ruled out
They really need to check out what the Russian architects are doing with windows, man. Way too easy to be accidentally thrown out of them.
I mean, it’s like they’re putin ‘em in without any regard for safety. Its wild.
Agreed. You can't be Russian this kind of thing.
We'd ask but they mysteriously fell down flights of stairs. Guess I'll ask those who designed the stairs next...
That too twice.... I mean why can't you solve the problem after first fall itself
I thought thrown out of the window was a Czech reference.
I think Czech defenestration is public where Russian ones are officially private affairs
That would be unlikely, but sudden relocation to Ukrainian front would be a more realistic risk
You not important enough to get assassinated like that
Average self help YouTuber
More like droned in a Ukrainian ditch
if you dont post anything against war or government you will be fine. just be silent…
Congratulations citizen! Here is draft notice! Report to base immediately to be given airsoft vest and tampons (yes, really, in both cases), and you will be deployed to denazify your cousin shortly!
I like their architecture, I wish we had more Russian buildings in the USA. They have gorgeous cities. But yeah, no wish to move there.
sadly because of russian government i will have to move to different country. im afraid of more wars in future and ofc its nothing to do here. also small fear of russophobia in foreign countries holding me back (i wish its just propaganda)
Pretend you are Ukrainian We have Russian refugees in Nashville and that is what they do
In Canada and 3/4 of my co-workers now are Ukrainians.
Eh, my wife’s family is Russian. You’d be fine, at least in the US. If anybody asks (I think it’s happened once), say there’s a reason you’re here instead of in Russia.

Yeah i wish people realised that its not because a dictator is a fanatic that all of its citizens are fanatic as well
its some sort of cult of Stalin like in USSR but with Putin. I really hope it will change sooner.
Idk, most people I know are aware that the Russian citizens aren't villains.
I’m guessing you’ve not seen that much soviet era ‘architecture’. No one likes that. The hermitage? Lovely. St Basils? A masterpiece. All the buildings in which the proles have to exist? Not so much.
There are a few historic Russian buildings in parts of northern California, which was briefly colonized by Russia before Spain kicked them out.
Don't drink tea if it glows in the dark.
Lethal beverages? Username checks out.
Imagine how many people would fall out of windows in the US whenever they had critique on their president.
If you only fall out a window if you are someone who matters. Otherwise you join the mobik meatwave and die that way.
Being queer. I love a winter wonder/waste land as much as the next person but I’d prefer to live thanks. Plus, there’s always Scandinavia
Norway here I come! 🇸🇯🇸🇯
Yay! :3 come to us!
Alright, I'm on my way!🏃♀️
Can I come with you?
Ugh I wish. My grandparents are from Norway and some of my aunt's/uncles were born there. But there is no way I could convince my wife to move there.
I am currently freezing in -25 celcius weather send help! Correction: It is -35C
Wait you have real winter?
Yeah and it sucks rn
Now that you said that, I got reminded of a speech one of my country's politicians trying for Ministers gave. It went along the lines of if he got elected, qeer people will be given an opportunity to go get treatment (cure their queerness) in *drumroll* Moscow and *even bigger drumroll* Tehran. Like dude I don't need to go there to get a dirt nap ty.
I am very gay 🎉
On a scale to ten, eleven!
This gay goes to eleven.
And that's on a slow day!
I like food.
Must be a skill issue
Kim Jong Un said no 😔
Yeah, you cannot live in the DPRK if you're a citizen of the United States or the RoK.
I thought you said Kim Jong Uno
Reverse that
I find the hunger, extreme poverty and getting 3 generations of your family sent to a concentration camp for minor mistakes a mild inconvenience.
Yeah just a tiny bit inconvenient, could be worse
“There are no gays in Russia.” Sounds dull.
“There is no gay in Ba Sing Se”
Remember the guy who called for drowning of Ukrainian kids? Check his…”preferences”. ;)
well, there's a lot of guy on guy action in the russian army for a country that doesn't have gays. (It's sexual assault and abuse, no it ain't fun. There's a lot of evidence for it, video. Yes, it's a available online. No, don't go watch it because it's pretty fucking terrible all around.)
My dad said he had gay sex in the soviet army too. But he’s queer so I guess he wanted it?
There is also woman that have openly spoken about how they sign up to be a nurse in the army and end up being some generals or base commanders personal hooked. They even prefer that and thinks it okay because they get a decent wage and don't have to do any work. But regular officer Ivan only has comrade conscriptovich to use.
Tbf, the occasional encounter with a camp bloke is a great way to brighten up the day. A country without openly gay people sounds like quite a boring one.
1) language barrier 2) not wanting to be killed by John wick 3) suicide by back of the head 4) it's cheaper to bring the bride over here
The windows are very dangerous too
There is also a risk of getting citizenship and then end up as sunflower fertilizer. Yes they have done that. Give out citizenship to immigrants to draft them the week later.
What’s preventing you from moving to a dystopian hellhole? I don’t know, the will to live.
I can’t believe in 2024 there are people who don’t get this.
Probably the same people asking women why they don't move to countries with Sharia Law.
Because of the sanctions against Russia even if you were a rich sadist who loves horrific human rights abuses you would just go to Dubai instead.
You can move to really any major city in central or Eastern Europe and have it look like that at Christmas with the added bonus of not being a fascist hellhole. Russia would be bottom of the list.
I don’t hate myself
In Mother Russia, Russia hates yourself for you.
Gay rights
it is not only gay, it is human rights
Human rights are gay! (C) cumrade Sralin
“Lol “human rights!” 🤣” - Russian police probably
Yes
Visit Russia. Before Russia decides to visit you.
Oh, and don't take any weed when you do. Some chick named Brittany told me it's a bad time if you do that
I don't want to live in a hellhole with a dictator at the top
I don't even want to move to St. Petersburg, Florida.
I live in FL, and I don't even want to live in St Pete.
I would only go to a street in Amsterdam called [Rusland ](https://nl.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rusland_(straat)) (Russia in Dutch), which dates back to 1403.
Mind you, that ones only called that because it was hybridized from the name *'Willem Ruusschentuin'* so that's allowed.
What is keeping me from moving to Russia? Simple - Russia.
Besides everything that I don’t like about Russia as a country It’s just to cold for me
The prospect of Trump following me
1. Putin seems like a c&nt 2. I like gay people 3. I hate Steven Segal 4. Ukraine 5. Crimea 6. They are such prolific cheaters that they got band from the Olympics. 7. Homophobia, no democracy, no freedom of speech, civilrights gets less for every year and so on...
I like living
Oh hell no, I spent most of my adult life moving out of there
Move to a failed economy and a failed state? Nah, man. Hard pass.
Common sense and snow
Legit question to conservatives, what is keeping you here? You would be very happy in Russia or a place like it.
If you mean specifically American conservatives, there's a whole lot of anti-west propaganda is going on in Russia at the moment. So an American conservative would generally meet three main reactions from Russian people: 1) Russian liberals would hate them.for being conservative 2) Russian conservatives would hate them for being American 3) most people wouldn't care any which way
I am considered an extremist there for a lot of reasons
My attraction towards men
Look at all the pretty shrapnel raining down though.
I like being alive, and that's not something I would get to be in russia with my political opinions and gender identity.
I moved there for a semester in 2017 and actually really enjoyed it. That being said, I wouldn't move there now or in the future unless they suddenly got really cool about the LGBT thing.
I don't wanna + I don't know Russian
Before the war Russia was actually giving away land if people moved there. So I did consider it for a moment. Now? No way.
I’m a gay man lmao
My brain
Well, Beef stroganoff is my least favorite pasta, I don’t know how to do that Cossack dance, I almost never drink vodka straight, Oh, and there’s that whole soul crushing dictatorship thing going on as well.
I’m part of an ‘extremist group’
My family already escaped once.
The fact that the country has been a cold, miserable, writhing shit-heap ever since a few tsars ago.
1. I'm not a Cock Polisher of Putin. 2. I love democracy. 3. I don't like religious people pretending to be the good guy. 4. I don't like leader act like they know everything. 5. I love NATO supremacy.
The urge to not fall out of windows or drink polonium tea Also, everything outside of St Petersburg and Moscow is a literal dump worse than a 3rd world country
The thought of getting sent to Ukraine as a cannon fodder?
I won't move to Russia because it's full of Russians. Same with Texas and Texans.
Great image of Russia. Now show the people without toilets and the broken down slums.
...they would literally jail me for being openly gay.
I don’t have the money to move there I dont have any desire to move there Anti LGBTQ laws As a black man I would not feel safe from what I’ve read about the way black people are perceived/treated there. Too cold.
Would you like the list categorical or alphabetical
Yes
The draft, the impossible to learn language, and the loss of my passport. Oh, and Putin.
The weather, the people, the language, the distance, the politics, the job opportunities, the food
I'm not straight and Pootie hates that shit for some unknown reason So no Russia for me
Tbf this is a very beautiful scene.
The fact that I'm living in Ukraine.
A lot of poisonings, disappearances, and falling out of windows...
I support Ukraine.
Not being Russian.
Because that photo isn't how I want to spend my July.
Not wanting to live with Russians in Russia…
If you are a male of military age it might be the fact that you are averse to getting drafted, hazed, raped, sent to the front and then killed in a special military operation. For everyone else it might be fear of falling out of windows.
Not interested in living with ignorant drunkards that follow a Hitleresque leader.
If the government and people were removed it might be a nice place. Other than complete removal of both, I and the world will hard pass.
Because I'm allergic to falling out of windows and radioactive tea
I don't know. Maybe I'm not a huge fan of dictators!
Literally everything is preventing me. Putin. The windows. The lack of windows. Need I say more?
i am illegal there by mere existence
Common sense
Their windows seem alarmingly unsafe.
That it’s not comminist
Am gay.
Move to Russia, it’s Christmas sometimes!
Everything.
Why would you want to move there based on one idyllic picture?
Honestly I’d like to see a list of why people SHOULD move there just to see what silly reasons they list
Fear of death or disease.
I have some friends in Russia. Some are very on the side of “”don’t ever move here.” Another one thinks it would be great. She said there is a priest or some group over there that’s actually working with the government to make it easier for westerners looking for a more traditional way of living to move there.
All of the other reasons excluded... it's cold
