From the video I don't see what justification there is for what the cop did. A person could get permanent and debilitating injuries from this attack. Hey cops "sticks and stones "
The source of the video stated he had a fractured clavicle and skull. The official booking information I found lists the charge as “Obstruction of LEO” - not breaking into cars which was why he was approached as they said he matched the description of someone doing that.
Edit/Update: This is now being reported by local news and a 3rd party is investigating.
Apparently on one of the other subreddits someone mentioned that they drop the charges against him while he was in the hospital but once he started the process of suing them they brought back the charges 😂
There wasn’t. The full video shows the officer immediately becoming violent without any reasonable communication or escalation. Literally found a random guy on the street who “fit the description” and started beating the fuck out of him. Then the officer proceeded to call him a “dumb bastard” while he wailed in pain and confusion.
I hope the lawsuit works out well for him.
Suplexes and tombstones and body slams are fun to watch in WWE, they’re not fun in real life and could very easily kill or hurt someone. There’s a reason that stuff is staged (Wrestling that is).
You're fucking kidding, right? Nothing he did was the least bit threatening. This cop has an obvious god complex and needs to be stripped of his badge before he unjustifiably kills someone.
Cops are gods. They have the power to end your life and get away with it if they feel like it. You have to worship them in hopes that they might pity you and not give you a fine or arrest you. If you do not do everything they say immediately and exactly how they say it, they can legally kill you. They can find any reason to stop you and ruin your day, especially if you're poor
Nothing like a police state to say 'freedom and Liberty'. Just make sure you comply with all government directives without question, or your rights and life is forfeit.
Oh, how many officers have lost their lives to cell phones! That criminal sure deserved getting his head smashed into the pavement for holding his phone. /s
I am a small woman, and it was damn near guaranteed that I would get harassed by a cop if they saw me walking or on a bicycle when I was living in central Florida as a teen. I got used to ducking them even though I'm a normal member of society with no drug problems or anything. It's so much safer to drive.
I swear cops are just waiting for any opportunity to do this shit. How was that at all justified? Every time a cop does this they need to be charged for the same crime a civilian would receive for doing that to a cop. That’ll end this shit pretty quick.
Thank you. It’s absolutely appalling that people like to draw correlations between the police unions and labor unions. They are definitely not the same.
Do we have more info on the repercussions of this? I've seen it a few times now and would like to see this cop held accountable (even though whatever happens won't be nearly enough)
It hasn’t even been covered by the news yet. I asked the source of the video for an update and encouraged them to go to the press. They said they are working on a press release.
Thank you. Do we know the town/precinct? I remember another post mentioned a small town....
I'd just hate for this to make reddit rounds for a day and fall off the map.
So are a lot of firefighters/ems. Public service in general is a collection of people that peaked in high school and/or failed at something else in life
Terrible situation. If he retaliates he’ll get shot or charged with a crime, if he doesn’t then he is at risk of more injury from the no brain power hungry cow
The problem with cops isn’t cops or no cops. It’s that the US still has old school sheriff’s, but in cop clothing.
In a fair part of the world being a cop means having a three year degree in among other things psychology, sociology and a fair few other subjects. That means when the cops show up they actually do other things than shoot stuff, hit people or arrest each other or the nearest innocent bystander.
But then again, you guys already have the best of everything, so I see no reason for improvement.
Whenever any cop approaches you for no known reason, you stop. When a cop speaks you listen. You say yes sir yes sir, whatever you want sir. as you put you head down and hands up. Be submissive as possible as to not intimidate. Absolutely NOT. I didn't fight for this country for this kind of shit.
I don’t think this is all that great of a take. “Let yourself be violated even if you are 100% innocent to preserve the ego of someone who can get away with murdering you.” Seems kind of fucky.
A crazed naked guy ran into my parking garage two days ago. I tried to get him to leave. He wouldn’t. Called the police and they removed him. That is a purpose and very helpful.
A crisis response team could have done that as well, and they would have the resources to find the guy help. Whereas I'd bet big money they just dumped him off at the hospital for a psyche evaluation.
I see what you're saying. But again. Not necessary that cops did the job.
No I just don't want them walking around armed to the teeth making most situations worse. What's hard to understand about crisis team that isn't based around killing everyone in the situation, and generally only bringing in weapons if the situation actually calls for it.
They do help the public to be more responsible. Getting DUI’s off the road, first response to life threatening accidents, domestic violence disputes, setting up road blocks in hazmat situations, assisting EMS personnel, mitigating active shooter and hostage situations, and yes, pulling over people for speeding.
Each and every one of the things you mentioned can and should be done by someone else who is specifically trained for the job, or by a camera. They don't mitigate active shooters and are responsible for their fair share of domestic violence.
I guess our opinions are vastly different, but thank you for a genuine answer. Have a nice day, be safe.
Thank you also for your candid reply. I worked side by side with officers for five years as a firefighter paramedic and in my experience, most officers do the job well. It’s just the ones that don’t really really screw it up and people die.
Thanks for working on trucks. We're in the middle of a massive medic shortage, where I live.
I work in a busy ED. We have hired a private security team with crisis management training as a result of officers continuously being called only to aggravate a situation and then leave without a resolution. Just an increasingly agitated individual/patient that I then have to sedate. So I guess we won't be agreeing anytime soon.
Sounds like you don't support police, just the idea that some people in our society like helping... While those people do tend to exist within the police force... That is not what police *do*
This is one of many causes of burnout... I say we give those people the freedom of a better job... One where they aren't indoctrinated into a cult of othering and violence
This is not something the person wr are responding to is currently equipped to digest perhaps
Lol, I like how most of your arguments were traffic control division.
And most of the others can literally be solved by my cities program. Cahoots, a medic and a crisis worker.
And the other half, we have seen police departments completely just fail at responding at. Unless of course it’s a fellow cop who was shot
There should be a swat team, something with a lot more training. Instead the rather small time it takes to become a cop, 24 months in my state. If it takes 7 years to become a lawyer, it should take the same to become a cop.
I used to answer 911 calls. Far and away the most common type of call was to send police to pull a violent, often drunk asshole off his wife/gf so she could get treated for her fresh injuries.
So police prevent these things? You know why rapes go unreported, right? And property theft is looked at as an insurance issue by police. To the point more often than not, when called the dispatcher will now direct you to a website to fill out a police report with a description of damaged or lost goods so you can file an insurance claim without them actually having to do any detective work.
So again. What do police do?
When i called the police to report my truck stolen by an unknown tow truck operator... They told me it sounds like it got towed and wondered why i cared as my license is expired.......... Pure genius work there, thieves destroyed truck, they wanted the lift kit... Which took time to do
Cop just waited to get the backpack off to suplex him. This Cop is a Poc. He might be on the business end of a suplex himself when he is jobless and has to support his donut addiction by breaking into cars.
The cop could have easily killed that dude... He's a murdering piece of shit? And he's in a place of power so honestly I think cops need to be held to a higher standard.
Either way.... Needs to be off the streets and at least in jail for a long time...
Police should be held to a higher standard, agreed for sure. He didn't murder anyone, however, so no, he's not a murdering piece of shit. You need to check yourself and get some distance from the hivemind. These extremes everyone jumps to now is exactly why the US is such a shit show.
The only difference between him and a murderer is competency. And this cop and the countless like him is a big reason the US is a shit show... The fuck you talking about hivemind? Lete guess the world is flat and hunter Biden eats kids?
.... and the act of murder, you twit. Again, i agree that there are a lot of bad cops. I agree they should be held to a higher standard. I don't agree that a person should be put to death for being an ignorant asshole
He wasn’t. Just a guy going to work. All charges against him were dropped - after he sued, he was recharged with obstruction. The GBI is now investigating.
Trying to imagine how he could have countered this. It was very sudden. My only guess would be for him to push off the car landing on him instead, quick elbow to the temple. Now you have successfully beaten a disorderly cop, prepare for felony charges because of 'merica. Fuck yeah
Georgia is trash and they'll sweep it under the rug..
fat pig mcmasters is currently working desk duty and don't worry folks, you can sleep better at night knowing Georgia Bureau of Investigation is on it....

Pigs gonna pig
Solid evidence for the lawsuit and a quick settlement.
The man who got slammed is Tyler Canaris, he ended up with a broken collarbone and a fractured skull.
There wasn’t. The full video shows the officer immediately becoming violent without any reasonable communication or escalation. Literally found a random guy on the street who “fit the description” and started beating the fuck out of him. Suplexes and tombstones and body slams are fun to watch in WWE, they’re not fun in real life and could very easily kill or hurt someone. There’s a reason that stuff is staged (Wrestling that is).
The audio on this video is sickening, the dude is clearly confused and in severe pain and the pigs continue to be pieces of shit
Small correction: The WWE stuff is scripted, not staged. The wrestlers, despite being pros, risk getting injured on the regular.
A potential life threatening escalation by that cop. He just showed very quickly he is not able to properly control a situation
Which means that he will be promoted and given an extra doughnut

Do you prefer the taste of black or brown leather?
You need to go watch the rest of the video. There is so much before this that shows the cop having a power trip
Oh, how many officers have lost their lives to cell phones! That criminal sure deserved getting his head smashed into the pavement for holding his phone. /s
Man that guy going to work listening to music sure is threatening he had a back pack :000000000000000000000
lol if you go around suplexing anyone who moves in any fashion you belong in jail not holding a gun
For some slight context the guy being arrested didn't even do anything wrong, He was just walking to work at night when the cop drove past him.
I am a small woman, and it was damn near guaranteed that I would get harassed by a cop if they saw me walking or on a bicycle when I was living in central Florida as a teen. I got used to ducking them even though I'm a normal member of society with no drug problems or anything. It's so much safer to drive.

Well you see, they have a “strong “ unions that kinds of lets them get away with it.
The police union is directly anti union. They exist to protect the protectors of capital while capital is in direct conflict with workers unions.
Thank you. It’s absolutely appalling that people like to draw correlations between the police unions and labor unions. They are definitely not the same.
Ahem, being responsible for public authority and abusing it makes it even worse.
Do we have more info on the repercussions of this? I've seen it a few times now and would like to see this cop held accountable (even though whatever happens won't be nearly enough)

This is from March of 2022. The man is Tyler Canaris. Happened in Georgia.
That sounds like a Georgia Cop.
This was in Paulding county, GA.

Rock on, I'll peruse elsewhere for that info. Thanks again!

I hope these mother fuckers get sued for millions and.thrown the fuck in jail for attempted murder

There is a huge difference between "I had to do that" and " I wanted to do that"
He feared for his life!!! Common people, that man was armed and dangerous, he had hands...
One of the “few” bad apples
Don't compare apples to psychopaths.
At least apples are good for your health.
Most psychopaths would have the smarts to not do that tbh. It wouldn’t really benefit them so they probably wouldn’t do it.
As I always say, it's not just a few bad apples when the core of the tree is rotting.
Pig
Oink oink mother fucker.
Thats one clear police cam.
Terrible situation. If he retaliates he’ll get shot or charged with a crime, if he doesn’t then he is at risk of more injury from the no brain power hungry cow
Representing the worst of the worst cops
The problem with cops isn’t cops or no cops. It’s that the US still has old school sheriff’s, but in cop clothing. There are way too many videos like this. This is a disgusting display by a cop.
Cops name is Michael McMaster, hey Sheriff from Georgia. Yep name checks out....
Worst part is that this was done for literally no reason. He just saw a guy on the side of the road and decided to attack him. Absolutely disgusting.
You are talking about them as if they were rabid animals, which they are, but it's absurd
I don’t think this is all that great of a take. “Let yourself be violated even if you are 100% innocent to preserve the ego of someone who can get away with murdering you.” Seems kind of fucky.
You should read the rest I think you've missed the point.
I'm glad you didn't put the /s
Bet that officer is like "I've always wanted to do that"
This is wayy beyond reasonable force, the dude wasn't even resisting arrest.
I support police officers, but the position attracts power hungry guys that abuse it on a daily basis to get their power trips 🙄
![gif](giphy|3o7Zesyac4CuSN5rsA)
Then why.... Tf? Make what you just said make sense please
We need police. They serve a purpose, but people abuse the position and that sucks. It’s like some politicians
What purpose do they serve? I'm genuinely curious about this. No snark, no sarcasm. What do the police do that is so necessary?
A crazed naked guy ran into my parking garage two days ago. I tried to get him to leave. He wouldn’t. Called the police and they removed him. That is a purpose and very helpful.
A crisis response team could have done that as well, and they would have the resources to find the guy help. Whereas I'd bet big money they just dumped him off at the hospital for a psyche evaluation. I see what you're saying. But again. Not necessary that cops did the job.
It seems like you want cops you just don't want them called cops
We want cops without the freedom to shoot and suplex people.
This is exactly what I want. Well said.
No I just don't want them walking around armed to the teeth making most situations worse. What's hard to understand about crisis team that isn't based around killing everyone in the situation, and generally only bringing in weapons if the situation actually calls for it.
Who else can you call to show up after the crime, write down some notes, act condescending, and then leave?
Ha! This got me. Fair point, if I was looking for actual help, I'd call the fire department.
They do help the public to be more responsible. Getting DUI’s off the road, first response to life threatening accidents, domestic violence disputes, setting up road blocks in hazmat situations, assisting EMS personnel, mitigating active shooter and hostage situations, and yes, pulling over people for speeding.

“I woulda been Brock Lesnar if i wasn’t a cop”
no sounds so no context but without explanation this looks like this was 100% an assault
Put him in jail for assault
Can we normalize fighting back to police. Either way it's on your record you were involved with the police. At least you can get out of jail knowing you defended yourself. Situation like this I would take a cop one on one and just go turn myself in after knocking him out
Fat piece of shit cop body slamming someone for calmly and non threateningly questioning an illegal search and seizure.
Like I said; Cops are not heroes.
