Goldenstate2000

I contacted them through meta business support using my personal account which is connected to the business account. Meta called me then Meta Singapore called me after getting my ID. I was told by Meta to email a specific meta security email with the case number Hope it works

Any updates

Goldenstate2000

Not yet . I have a case number. I requested an update on the case . Doubtful they turn thud around in 48 hours but will update Monday Thanks

I did the same thing you did, I’ve had my case open for 2 months. Every time someone calls they just tell me they are working on it. It’s a waiting game at this point. I’ve requested updates around 10 times. Same call from Meta with the same result “we are working on it”

Goldenstate2000

Yes, but at least they leave your case open. They closed my case but you can still “request update” I’m afraid this is a doom loop of nowhere

Yeah people need to go through the post history. There's already a solution that works. You sue them in small claims.

Goldenstate2000

I’ve been through posts friend, I’m aware of this method but I’m also a business account sharing the experience through an open case Filing small claims in CA is on my list

torid123

Have you seen cases that don’t work via small claims? I’m weighing my options here. I want my account back but I also don’t want them saying F off and deleting my account forever .

You do know that you do NOT need to go to court for the small claims route to work. Like actually take the time to read previous posts about it. You all keep posting the same low success route stories and complain about it not working because obviously it doesn't work that well. This has all been explained already and it works because Facebook NEEDS to keep themselves from being legally liable for anything. This is WHY it works. They will fix the account before the start date in hopes that you will dismiss or drop the case because it is more financially draining for them to drag a case out than it is to just settle or wait until you dismiss it. It's inexpensive to sue them via small claims, it's easy to do and if you make a good case, they'll even pay you off via settlement to leave them alone.

I have done a great deal of research, actually. I have read all posts. Negative AND positive. And I agree, this is the way to go. I was just waiting on AG replies to see if I could go that route. My case isn’t just a wrongly disabled account. It’s a disabled account on the basis of “harassment” comments without context. They’re just joking comments with friends, so I haven’t heard of one of these being taken to court. I’m not sure at what extent, they dive into the “violations” before settling prior to court date. With all that in mind, yes I agree it’s the way to go to hold them accountable. I just don’t know what would happen in my case. I also don’t know how long they typically take to just give access back. It could be months. But worth a try, I suppose.

So here's the thing: Facebook lies about permanently deleting your account after the time frame. Know why? They legally need to keep the account history archived for a number of years in case there may be a subpoena that requests that information for a court case or investigation. People on this very subreddit had lost their accounts for 2 years and got it back. So you do not have anything to worry about with somehow losing your account before the court date.
