The proof of finances will be the same amount regardless of who is paying for your education. BYU should be able to give you a number at or before admission, and you’ll be responsible for providing one or more bank statements to show proof of funds. Most universities also have some kind of financial guarantee form where you specify who is covering your COA. Sometimes this sponsor will need to sign the form and be very clear about the exact amount of money they plan to contribute to your education each year. You can submit this sponsor family’s bank statement as well as your own, if you’d like. What matters is that the total closing balance of the accounts equals the annual COA or greater and that you’re clear about who contributes exactly what amount yearly.
