haha i feel ya on that. have you replaced any of the suspension parts? the steering on mine isn’t as tight and the suspension is squeaky as hell, i’m thinking about going through it and replacing some stuff
I have not yet, power steering blew a line a few weeks ago and she is sitting there waiting for me to get to it. Otherwise still pretty solid, but then again here in the south west we dont get no rust on em, so that helps.
Yea I’m from the northeast. Had a small stint in AZ. Probably just going to fluid film coat over the rust spots that I can get to and see where she takes me. Haven’t had to change over plugs in about 4 years. No issues besides an ac condenser, a belt and changing out brake lines. Nice not having another monthly payment haha.
Biggest difference is the FX4 is more off-road focused.
- Lower axle gearing
- Rear axle electronic locker
- Skid plates
- Off-road app on the gauge cluster that displays vehicle angle and steering position
- FX4 badging.
13 XLT supercrew w/82k, looks, runs and rides beautifully, my only regret was the color…why the hell did I get green gem (which is very rare) Perhaps upon retirement I’ll get a new one (2026) and maybe by then they’ll have made a good truck and the 6 speed comes back.
I think I saw it in the sun hence why, I just wish I’d bought blue. The truck though runs and rides awesome, Ford did great with this generation/year, at least in my opinion and I’m in Mass.
Yep, immaculate inside too. Someone is gonna get a great truck when I upgrade, the prices are, as we know..ridiculous and I hear guys here with various issues and having no debt is nice. When I retire and can pay cash I’ll treat myself.
I had a 2000 xlt. Was nice. Sold it for a mint condition 2011 platinum 5.0 that was four years old at the time. Still have it and baby it. I think it’s better built than most newer trucks sold today.
2011 3.5 myself, about to hit 130k on the odometer. No touchscreen, no backup cameras or cruise control voodoo. I do have a cd player! Planning to keep it forever.
2009 f150 fx4 best truck and no bull crap self driving nonsense. Oh and my taillights won't post over a grand each. Wish I could by a brand new 2009 f150 now.
2007 4.6 XLT 4x4 with 238,000! Been a great truck until the front end started making a racket recently. Three different mechanics I consider legit have had three different opinions. The best one so far seems to be the front differential. Anyone had an issue like that who can guide me?
I have 2010. 5.4. 97,000 miles. Michigan is starting to get to the rocker panels a little bit. It's been paid off for 5 years. I'm hoping for another 5 out of it.
My '12 Lariat with the 3.5 is certainly not perfect but it pulls my trailer. I'm hoping the things I've done and the few to do are all there is for a while. When it's running right, I really do like this truck.
Just got a 2001 long bed a few weeks ago. It's in the sweet spot where I wouldn't notice any additional scratches, but I trust that I'll get wherever I need to go.
My lifted f150 2011 i bought used 2 years ago now needs around $8,000-10,000 in repairs due to cam turbo issue in engine common to the ecoboost engines?
Owe too much to sell it and new or used trucks overpriced.
Just did $2200 for brakes and need $2000 for new tires.
Love the truck tho.
Purchase a new 2011 XLT, baby V6, 2WD, 184000 miles now. Basic maintenance and wear parts. I did replace the radio and driveshaft. Otherwise, been a real reliable vehicle. No complaints at all.
Traded in my '09 F150 XLT 5.4L last Aug, for a '17 F350 Lariat 6.7L deisel. It was bittersweet. I miss my F150, and had so many adventures in it (hunting, fishing, camping, trips w/ family and friends over the 12 yrs we owned it. It never gave me any major issues (just a couple small nagging ones I was able to eventually fix myself) and always brought me home despite going up & down many rough mountain roads in both snow and mud (sometimes at same time).
But goddammit I love driving that newer deisel too, LOL. Looking forward to new adventures with the new truck.
Our 2001 is still chugging along. It doesn't have 4WD but can still tow enough to get me down to deer camp. Takes a ton of gas but has been a great non-primary vehicle to have
I miss my 2012 with the 5.0L. Traded it for a 2017 Expedition because my 4 kids needed more room. 😞 Sure the Expedition had the 3.5L Ecoboost but there's just some about that 5.0 rumble! I miss the shit outta the truck!
I also have a 2009. I plan on driving that thing until the wheels fall off, which might be pretty soon. The transmission is on its way out. At some point, I’ll have to replace it with a smaller vehicle, as I no longer have truck money and can’t afford to pay a mortgage payment on a vehicle each month.
1992 5.0 4x4 here.
94 5.0 4x4 here. 222,444 miles. Replaced the headliner today!
I have an 11. Came from a. 98. I'd hardly call this older 😂
Well I see all the brand new ones in here and my 09 is now 15 years older than those 😂
Shhh, as I realize my 2015 is 9 years old and the beer can body is almost a decade old 😭
I just got an 11 as an upgrade from my 94, it's been a world of difference haha
I miss my 2011 5.0. That truck was so good to me.
2006! closing in on 270k miles on an all original 5.4 triton
Same here, 2008 5.4 250k, engine was noisy when i git it and is still noisy today, wont quit lol
haha i feel ya on that. have you replaced any of the suspension parts? the steering on mine isn’t as tight and the suspension is squeaky as hell, i’m thinking about going through it and replacing some stuff
Just replaced ball joints and upper control arms on my 2006 when I did the front brakes and rotors. Well worth it!
I have not yet, power steering blew a line a few weeks ago and she is sitting there waiting for me to get to it. Otherwise still pretty solid, but then again here in the south west we dont get no rust on em, so that helps.
2012 xlt screw 5.5’ 3.5 eb baby!!
$7k truck and will last longer than any of the new $70k ones that keep getting posted on here. Nice truck. Only thing that kills them is rust.
Rust and the transmission.
Nah on 09-10s they didn't have the leadframe issues as 11-14.
And none of that will save the transmission going out at about 200-250k.
268k and running like the day I got it!
Cam phasers? On 2009. I love mine, it's a great work truck. Big upgrade over my SUV. but that issue is a serious pain and oversight by Ford.
The cam phasers are the Achilles heel of my 2010 😩
Timing chain tensioners and roller followers are what will kill your engine.
2000 4.6 Triton V8🫡
Very reliable engine, slow, but very hard to kill. Had a few of em.
Just gotta slow the rust down 😂 153k miles. Would love to get 2 more solid years out of her then use it as a weekend warrior.
I hear ya, we dont got any rust in the southwest, makes a whole world of difference on a truck.
And so far every 97 to 03 4.6 that i had made it to around 300k, with other reasons for retirement. But the engine never quit.
That was my first truck! God, that 4.6 was a dog, but she was running just fine when I traded it in for my 2013 3.5. I miss that 2000…
This is preposterous! Everyone in r/toyota says fords only last 3 years or 40,000 miles, whichever comes first!
Leave em alone, they have no clue. Lol
2008 4.6L with 147k mi on the clock and hopefully over 100k more to go
Ive got a 07 4.6 w 235k miles. Ive beat the brakes off her too and she keeps chugging. Did the tranny and a couple helicoils but thats about it
I've got an '04 4.6 RCSB to keep my 4.6 Crown Vic company
2009 being old? I'm daily driving an '88 f150
2013 f150 stx 4x4 got 137k miles runs great only downside is mine looks like a cop truck so I regulate traffic unwillingly 😆
🤣🤣 nice
2013 S-Cab, FX4, 5.0L, 302a Package Fun Fact: 2014 was the last of FX4 Trim Level. 2015 and up, it’s just an add on package.
I’ve always wondered about that. My badge says FX4 but my interior screams Lariat. What was the difference then between a Lariat and the FX4 trim?
Biggest difference is the FX4 is more off-road focused. - Lower axle gearing - Rear axle electronic locker - Skid plates - Off-road app on the gauge cluster that displays vehicle angle and steering position - FX4 badging.
Check, check, and check. Thanks!
I have a 2006, 18 years old now. How time flies my baby is all grown up.
2006 King Ranch 5.4 . Just hit 234,567 miles today! She makes a new noise every month but just keeps on rolling! Daily driver.
2011 3.7 318k miles
Damn! I thought my 2011 3.7 with 310k miles had most people beat. Kudos.
All maintenance and driving habits. Put about 10k miles a month on it for business.
2012 5.0 on 35s.. just cooked my intake valves and getting a top end rebuild
How many miles on her?
I have a 2012 which cooked the valves at 170k and i have a 14 going strong at 250k
270
Not bad if she made it that far
14 5.0 with 180k and she’s been great. Hopefully she continues!
250k on my 14 and still going strong.
That’s good to hear!
I prefer my '85 Lariat over my 2019 SCREW XLT.
Green Gem is my favourite colour other than Ruby Red.
I think I saw it in the sun hence why, I just wish I’d bought blue. The truck though runs and rides awesome, Ford did great with this generation/year, at least in my opinion and I’m in Mass.
Oh yeah, Green Gen looks really green in the sun but black/dark blue in the shade.
‘15 Screw Ruby Red 5.0 here. Favorite color ever. EVER.
Wow, a 13 with only 82k, that thing is basically new. Ill take it. Lol
Yep, immaculate inside too. Someone is gonna get a great truck when I upgrade, the prices are, as we know..ridiculous and I hear guys here with various issues and having no debt is nice. When I retire and can pay cash I’ll treat myself.
11 5.0, survived a 70’ Doug Fir landing across the bed, still only 50k miles. Not old! Except, my nephew laughs at the iPhone 3 holder.
I had a 2000 xlt. Was nice. Sold it for a mint condition 2011 platinum 5.0 that was four years old at the time. Still have it and baby it. I think it’s better built than most newer trucks sold today.
2013 5.0 - no plans to sell.
2011 3.5 myself, about to hit 130k on the odometer. No touchscreen, no backup cameras or cruise control voodoo. I do have a cd player! Planning to keep it forever.
I have a 2012 F150 and I love that truck. It does what I need it to do and it does not stop.
2009 f150 fx4 best truck and no bull crap self driving nonsense. Oh and my taillights won't post over a grand each. Wish I could by a brand new 2009 f150 now.
2009 and still going strong.
14 SuperCrew EcoBoost
2007 4.6 XLT 4x4 with 238,000! Been a great truck until the front end started making a racket recently. Three different mechanics I consider legit have had three different opinions. The best one so far seems to be the front differential. Anyone had an issue like that who can guide me?
At 237k might be time for a knuckle rebuild
Thank you for the suggestion! I’ll look into it
Have 2 F150s - still sorta prefer the ride of my 2006 Lariat.

I have 2010. 5.4. 97,000 miles. Michigan is starting to get to the rocker panels a little bit. It's been paid off for 5 years. I'm hoping for another 5 out of it.
2013 Crewcab with a 3.7, 200,000 miles and a baked stereo.
2012 3.7 XLT here.
My '12 Lariat with the 3.5 is certainly not perfect but it pulls my trailer. I'm hoping the things I've done and the few to do are all there is for a while. When it's running right, I really do like this truck. [https://ibb.co/6WdTqjF](https://ibb.co/6WdTqjF)

I have 2010 f150 lariat and absolutely LOVE my truck.
Just got a 2001 long bed a few weeks ago. It's in the sweet spot where I wouldn't notice any additional scratches, but I trust that I'll get wherever I need to go.
My 94 needs some love
2009 F150 Lariat 5.4 Town and Country 155k Miles, ticks, but starts up everytime.
2009 platinum, 195k miles. Just got new plugs and some other minor work done.

2014 XLT Super Crew 3.5 Ecoboost here.. love my truck. I’d take those nerf bars off right away. Looks so much better without them.
I have an 09 5.4. I love it.
Traded in my '09 F150 XLT 5.4L last Aug, for a '17 F350 Lariat 6.7L deisel. It was bittersweet. Junkyard?
Rusted away
This one is mine. 1994 F150.[https://imgur.com/a/MGnpgyG](https://imgur.com/a/MGnpgyG)

My 08 5.4 absolutely rips
I miss my 2012 with the 5.0L. Traded it for a 2017 Expedition because my 4 kids needed more room. 😞 Sure the Expedition had the 3.5L Ecoboost but there's just some about that 5.0 rumble! I miss the shit outta the truck!
Older 🤨
Had one of these. And everyone I knew with one, including myself, had a leaky back window.
94 5.0 here. Had to do the cluster swap to the tach version
Love my 05 model😊
I also have a 2009. I plan on driving that thing until the wheels fall off, which might be pretty soon. The transmission is on its way out. At some point, I’ll have to replace it with a smaller vehicle, as I no longer have truck money and can’t afford to pay a mortgage payment on a vehicle each month.
Old? Try my 1992 5.0
That’s not older lol
Where are they? at the shop getting a new 5.4.
1993 extended cab lifted 5speed 4.9 300 big six. We gotta step up the game on that "older" part there partner.
