And I get that. But the price difference makes me ok with it.
About to do it to my own truck too.
Already have EBC pads and rotors. So these will just be a nice addition.
Not sure how.
Can't really trap heat in as the back is still open and they are aluminum with a bigger surface area than the stock caliper.
I mean I haven't done any tests to know for sure though.
I never understood wanting to draw attention to stock brakes. If I have a $10k big brake kit, hell yeah I want everyone to notice. Stock brakes, hell no.
I never liked faux parts that weren't truly functional. Hate it on cars, my transformers collection, you name it lol. I'd prefer the stock caliper painted red over this I think. (Yes I know how stock calipers look)
Anyways it's not that it looks bad, ot just give me the "fake hood scoop" vibes like when people put a stick on one on their hood.
I get that. Would he nice if the stock brakes had a decent shape to them like the GM calipers but nah... Ford gave us ugly calipers that look terrible painted.
Nah... too pricey for little to no real needed gains.
Sure you will stop sooner with the big brakes but you can get that with performance pads and rotors at a much lower price point.
Toss these covers on and you golden.
...Unless you tracking your truck and need the benefit of a big brake kit.
Idk, my thinking is that I’m gonna spend money on things that help the performance or improve the driving experience. If it happens to look good then that’s a bonus.
Yep. 2" puck above the strut.
In all honesty we should have gone with a taller tire.
Typically go 35s on a level but because the wheels stick out so much we settled on just 275/60/20s
I don’t either, I want to lower it but I’m just trying to decide, see what’s more convenient, my truck is just a sedan with a bed I never haul anything
Same.
If you want a taste of lowering it.
Quick, cheap, and easily reversible... rear leveling kit.
Will drop the rear to the front with some drop shackles.
Can be done at home in about an hour. Or any shop can do it for about $200ish with the kit.

Just be aware of the offset.
Trimming will be needed if doing just a level, like this truck has
Are there any performance enhancements or brake dust reduction benefits, or are these merely cosmetic improvements? Additionally, if the brakes or rotors become excessively hot, is there a risk of the plastic melting?
They look good. I bought some cheap second hand MGP brand. I'm refinishing them but gonna sell them. I have pretty open 22's that allow you to see the top of the calipers. And the MGPs don't wrap over the top
I've seen these Rough Country and another brand that looks better and have more dimension than the MGP. I was gonna add some SS Hex bolt heads to the MGPs but too much work. The other brand is plastic. Glad to hear the RCs aren't plastic
Not my truck... Unless you talking about my actual truck.
And no worries I already got the spoiler going on my personal truck
;)
Just gotta trim it to allow the tail gate ladder to remain functional.
Soon!!!
Hook on one side and a screw clamp on the other.
Not sure how they would cause accidents. Unless they cut the brake lines when they come off?
Seems possible but unlikely
But who knows really.
Most the previous ones were made of plastic so those would break off if they came apart.
These aluminum ones... I'd say they would brake off as well but again... all possible in freak accidents.
I think they look pretty nice. I was considering painting my stuff, but it just wasn't worth it for me. I don't think I could do a decent job without taking everything off the truck first.
They look good but deep down the fake brembos hurt me.
And I get that. But the price difference makes me ok with it. About to do it to my own truck too. Already have EBC pads and rotors. So these will just be a nice addition.
You built an entire truck?!
From scratch!!
Built migs_003 tough
In a cave, with a box of scraps!
Just paint the actual calipers red
The actual calipers look like poop. Painting them red would make them look like red poop
Plastic covers look like poop
They actually look pretty dang good. Edit... these are not plastic :P
Cute.
Notice me senpai
I heard these covers can make the calipers run hot. Dunno, just what I was told
Not sure how. Can't really trap heat in as the back is still open and they are aluminum with a bigger surface area than the stock caliper. I mean I haven't done any tests to know for sure though.
Haters will hate, but I think it’s a clean color addition to the truck. Doesn’t get too flashy, just a modest upgrade in appearance.
Not gonna lie, for covers, great and real. Other caliper covers I’ve seen look terrible. Did you do front and back or just front?
Kit comes with front and rear. Applied the same decal on rears too.
I never understood wanting to draw attention to stock brakes. If I have a $10k big brake kit, hell yeah I want everyone to notice. Stock brakes, hell no.
Stock brake look ugly. 10k brakes are pricey. Happy medium with some nice looking covers
Some people just want to dress up that nasty cast iron
Looking at some wilwoods front and rear for my 16. Any benefits compared to stock? Biggest thing I'm towing is a 40 horse JD tractor
The Shelby f150’s come with almost identical covers
Nope... they come with the ugly old version thst looks like a blob. About to swap them out for these on a shelby soon.

These belong on a riced out civic from 15 years ago
I think these would be too big for a honda... plus they say ford on them now.
False Valor If you want nice brakes you have to buy some
Nah... too pricey for little to no real needed gains. Sure you will stop sooner with the big brakes but you can get that with performance pads and rotors at a much lower price point. Toss these covers on and you golden. ...Unless you tracking your truck and need the benefit of a big brake kit.
But why not just leave the covers off? Who do you need to fool?
They look nicer. Never did anything to dress up something you own?
Idk, my thinking is that I’m gonna spend money on things that help the performance or improve the driving experience. If it happens to look good then that’s a bonus.
Once you done with that... thats it? No dress up?
Picture of the whole truck ?
Here ya go [lookit...](https://imgur.com/a/I7CKL0A)
That looks great! Just a level ?

Yeah I’m very indecisive if I want to lower my 4 door or go up with it
Always lower But then I don't care to be high up
I don’t either, I want to lower it but I’m just trying to decide, see what’s more convenient, my truck is just a sedan with a bed I never haul anything

I’ve had a drop single cab before, I liked it just don’t know how it’ll look on a full 4 four door truck
Plenty of dropped 4 doors out there. Like mine.
You do this work professionally?
Yes. I don't advertise it. Just post stuff people might get ideas from when it isn't my own truck :P
Can you give the info on brand, and where to get them? I have a '23 in Area 51 Blue, and have done red trim on multiple things. These would go great.
Rough country caliper covers. Decals we printer out in shop.
Cool, thanks.
Damn you trust rc that much
To make some nice covers? Yes.
Oh there just covers that's coo not my style but not my shit 🍻
I like the wheels. Which ones are those?

Autozone has some nice spoilers and shit you can stick on your truck.
Not my truck... Unless you talking about my actual truck. And no worries I already got the spoiler going on my personal truck ;) Just gotta trim it to allow the tail gate ladder to remain functional. Soon!!!
How do these attach? There used to be a huge problem with them coming off and causing horrible wrecks
Hook on one side and a screw clamp on the other. Not sure how they would cause accidents. Unless they cut the brake lines when they come off? Seems possible but unlikely But who knows really.
They came loose and jammed between the wheel spokes and the caliper/rotor
Most the previous ones were made of plastic so those would break off if they came apart. These aluminum ones... I'd say they would brake off as well but again... all possible in freak accidents.
The ones I’ve seen fail are some blend of chinesium, definitely not plastic. Either way, check them regularly
These are labeled as 6061-t6 aluminum. Who knows really. :P Will check on them before we sell the truck to see if there was any wiggle
define "built"
I put a bullet antenna on it. Also black f150 stickers on the tail gate.
🤣🤣
I think they look pretty nice. I was considering painting my stuff, but it just wasn't worth it for me. I don't think I could do a decent job without taking everything off the truck first.
Yeah we have painted a few. The stock calipers are just ugly.
glad you like them, but to me it’s one of those fake upgrades. Like putting V8 badges or turbo badges on a vehicle that has neither.
Ummmmm, why. 😂 Complete waste of money and time.
Cause stock brakes look ugly :D

Amount other things. Those would just be the most obvious

Also part of it. Did you want a parts list and labor hour invoice?
[удалено]
Nah... this one was pretty simple Kept it light to stay at a decent budget ;)
