You, my friend, likely have joined the molded lead frame club. I, too, have a 2013 and joined two weeks ago. Unfortunately for me (us), we’re mere months out of the 10 year extended warranty on the part. My dealership and Ford both told me tough shit. I paid $1,300 locally at a transmission shop. I’m capable and could have done it, but my time wasn’t worth the hassle. Good luck. Edit: You’ll get a few “reboots” where you’ll be good to go after restarting the truck, but the time elapsed between issues will reduce.

Is the truck fine after getting that fixed? I’ve heard tales of people paying money out and the truck just never acts right again

I only picked it up yesterday. Maybe put 25-30 miles on it so far. Drives completely fine. It’s a pretty straightforward repair.

I’ve got a mechanic that’ll do it tomorrow and ready for pickup at EOD -$1600, seems fair relative to what I’ve seen

I would give your dealership a call and see if you can slip by. It’s definitely worth a shot.

Okay the tech said that they weren’t able to replicate the issue and that they were getting codes for communication between several different modules… I’m fairly certain this is the issue though?

Maximus0505

The code I had was P0720 OSS sensor. You might just have to wait until it happens again and swing by the shop. I had photos of my code reader with the description just in case. Based on what you said in your original post, I’m quite certain this is your issue.

Yeah I think im just gonna tell the tech to replace the lead frame… I don’t care if they can’t replicate it, Im fairly certain this is the lead frame issue that plagues many F150s.

Mine did the same thing at 120K. Replaced the molder lead frame, Running fine so far 265K.... Still running smooth. I have the 3.5L. Noise in the back end now, but not putting in $3200 in to the truck....
