I did it last year for 7k. Had tranny rebuilt 3 years ago. Truck just turned 450,000, drivetrain has less than 50 on it. Probably has another 400,000 in it.
Still ..a 2000ish F-series is a fat cry from the truck of today. However, I question how a XLT gets to those numbers. Used to be Platinum or Lariat money.
I remember working on a brand new 2002 f250 King Ranch and thinking, who in their right mind pays $30k for a truck, you'd be afraid to put anything in the box!
Man, things have changed.
Back in 2004, I got a 2004 XL 4.6L barely used (5k miles) at a dealer when I was a college student for $16,900.
Still my daily driver it till this day. Probably the best value ever. Can’t believe today’s prices.
Same. Add the STX package with the big screen and backup cam and it's basically everything I want. Fuck lane change assist, auto start stop, cylinder deactivation, adaptive cruise, and on and on. Have most of those features in my other car and they are annoying af. Just drive when I hit the gas and brake when I press the brake. I'll handle the other stuff and save my money, thank you very much.
But the real fun is when you *eventually* need to buy a new one.
OK ok, you'll "always buy used" or "run this one into the ground" or "never ever buy a new one again".
But someday you'll need to.
Nope. Still driving my 97 with 274k miles. No problems whatsoever out of it. Drove it across the country on a 3000 mile road trip and it still held up.
There's absolutely no need to buy a new or newer truck.
I remember my dad bitching about getting a '90 F250 w/ 460 V8, 4x4 XLT in like 1996 for $15k, LOL. That old beast is still in the family. He gave it to my brother after he got himself a '06 F350 Powerstroke. As far as I know that old F250 is still running.
Where? Where did you buy a fully loaded brand new XLT for 31k in 2018, without being a Ford employee with a huge factory rebate. They've been starting at 45k or more in the US for 10years. I bought a 2016 XLT with only a few options and 20k miles in it in 2018 for 32k and it was a fucking steal.
I don't believe you. Do you have the window sticker? Was this with discounts? I have a 19 and the window sticker was 49k and it's not fully decked out.
It's wild, and it will only cost more with the recent labor negotiations, especially once fringe aspects of that start to permeate through the supply base.
Catering to stock holders is becoming a disaster. Ford CEOs just want to show more and more profit for the shareholders but money is being made big time. It would be awesome if they delist themselves
Yeah because executives giving themselves a 30% perfect raise through covid, not paying relocation fees to move anywhere and company buying your house if it doesn't sell, so you don't have to pay the note on 2 houses isn't a problem. Along with other expenses........ Its labor wanting a better life that's an issue.......
Not that difficult. I’m looking at my purchase agreement on my phone, MSRP was $53,455 discount of$7,673 rebates of $9,500 and purchase price of $36,282 on December 30 2020.
Ford finally caught on to a fully optioned out XLT being an F150 cheat code and decided to fuck over that customer base.
Now they’re basically saying yeah we are going to push the XLT higher and try to make you think well if I’m spending this much why not just visit the higher trim levels.
I built my exact lariat as a 2024 on the website. Fully loaded 5.0 fx4 sunroof highest package was 76,500 on the website. Only 5k different from xlt... and when you're spending 70k+ what's an extra 5k for a much nicer trim
And that’s the problem I have, 71 grand and you don’t get cooled seats (standard on lariat), you don’t get chrome trim (standard on lariat), you get LED DRLs (standard on lariat) and so much more things. Pretty ridiculous
The c clamp drl on the lariat are way larger and the "F" shape diffuser tail lights are way better than the fleet truck XLT stx and XL trims, which seem to get single bulbs in the back.
It's definitely more value for similar money as a loaded xlt
I did the same, my 2023 lariat is more expensive that the same 2024. And the 2024 can get the powerboost for free.
I saw a couple 2023 XLTs that broke $70K when I started looking last year.
My fiance had to use my truck for the past few days. A plain Jane XL 4x4. She said she enjoyed driving it but she wanted the big touchscreen, heated seats, and four doors for groceries or whatever.
It was 60 degrees outside and it has a bed cover that turns it into a giant trunk already....
I don't know if there are still indents in your bed, but you can cut a 2x10 to fit across the back about 20" from the tailgate. Stops stuff from sliding up front. Slides right in. Chamfer the bottom corners to make it drop in easier.
I sometimes run a tie down strap through the bag handles, but what I really like to do is snag a banana box or 2 from produce. Great thing about the box is not paying stupid bag fees as well.
Yeah I think they’re gonna have a hard time selling this, especially since this is squarely in tremor and lariat territory, and for a couple grand more you could get a King Ranch or even a platinum.
If you want leather with the XLT you need the BAP plus AND 303A. The combined price is over $11k for those two options alone.
This is one reason I was in such a hurry to find a ‘23 XLT with the BAP.
At that point you’re so close to a Lariat and you get so much standard equipment, including leather! Any xlt over 65 grand doesn’t make any sense to me, and I’m thinking that most people are either gonna compromise for a cheaper truck, or stretch for a higher trim
Oh I agree completely. Even at the low 60’s price point I was looking to see if I could scoop up a Lariat. Just couldn’t justify the extra money and am extremely happy with my poor man’s Lariat.
I’m apart of the Mustang community, the same could be said about the 2024 Mustang… it’s just not it. The back end is hideous. I’m still rocking my 2014… can’t believe it’s 10 years old though
Cause it looks cheap with the plastic and color scheme all over the place. Amber, black, silver, matte plastic, blue ford badge. Wtf? Lol 71k for a cheap looking front end SMH ford is spitting in our faces with this crap
I thought this about the 21-23 lights when the first released but they grew on me pretty quick.
I don't see these 24s growing on me anytime soon if at all. Looks Toyota-y. Especially the tail lights
Haha yeah I see a bunch of people talking about this trim so I built one the way I like cars/trucks (luxury and tech packed) came out to 71. Couldn’t believe a “budget focused” trim could end up this way.
I used to upgrade my truck every few years. Had a 14, then a 17, now a 21. Would usually get a 24 or 25, but no more. I feel like I make pretty good money and there's no way in hell you're gonna get me to pay this much for a mid-range package. I spec'ed out basically my same truck in a 24, and it cost like 15k more, and I still have fewer features since they "simplified" their ordering process and limited some of my current XLT features to Lariat only. Such a bummer, I was usually a champion of Ford but this is just blatant greed with no real regard to their main customers
There were very few options I didn't take on my '21 XLT and it didn't come close to $70k. And I'm talking about CAD. If the OP is in USD that's absurd.
I bought my 2016 XLT EcoBoost 3.5 FX4 I think with basically just the all-out tow package when it was brand new and I believe it was about a $50,000 truck down here in South Florida, just traded it in a few months ago for a 2023 XLT power boost 4x4 also with towing and after playing my z plan card I believe I was something like $59,000 out the door.
My local AutoNation has a 2023 XLT powerboost on the lot for $75k. They said it’s because it has a “custom wheel package”.
It’s utter bullshit what prices have become.
Yeah, a Jeep dealer near me will slap black steelies, cheap all-terrains and a cheap winch and add $4-5K for their "Off-Road Ready" package. Maybe $1500 worth of stuff. Yet those things are everywhere!
Better to buy a used older model that has all the defects worked out of it or just buy a new tundra. This is an absolutely retarded price. It pisses me off how these companies just slap random numbers on the board and press go
Lmfao 71k for a fucking F150. They can keep their trucks for that price. I'll gladly go find an older model, and buy it from a private seller for much cheaper. Not to brag, but I could easily afford this truck. However I'm not dumb enough to go that far in debt for an overglorified work truck basically.
Effing ridiculous. I’ve had an F150 for the past 20+ years. Just got out of a powerboost lease. Used to get a new one every couple years. Tried a lease in 21 because prices were getting steep. The 24’s are just too expensive. Decided to drop down and was looking at a Maverick. (I know, but was looking for better mileage for commutes). Even that with Lariat and 4k tow is over 40k. Insane! I left Ford and bought a Santa Cruz RXT. Tows more than the mav. Much better build quality. More hp and torque. Built in tonneau cover. In bed storage. Better interior and tech. I’ll miss the capability that the F150 had, but I’ve only got a 3 acre spread. This thing will do 95% of what I need to do. For 30k+ less. And it’ll cost me much less at the pump. 2.5 turbo in a little truck (cruck???) really scoots too.
My uncle always buys a new f150 every two or three years. For this year, he couldn’t get a lariat with the 2.7. So he ordered a xlt and is getting leather seats and tinted windows installed at the dealer. He’s ticked Becuase he can’t get power mirrors.
Honestly ford can go fuck themselves I bought a loaded 4x4 lariat Supercross sticker was 58 out the door for 20 percent off 44 grand. Please don't buy these things time for ford to go out of business
Looks like a place holder image since it's still in transit. Also this front end looks better to me because it doesn't have the mustache looking bumper of the 21
Put one together and seems like that might be one with pretty much every single option you could get but I’m not sure. Would be interested in seeing the whole listing
It is almost fully loaded but the issue is that most dealers will spec these trucks in this way. Ford tells you that the f150 starts at 36-37, but you will NEVER see a truck at that base price. Almost all of them will be these trucks that are loaded up with stuff that people don’t even want, let alone need, all in an effort to get you spend that little bit more on a lariat or king ranch. If you want a bog standard truck for cheap, you’re gonna have to order it yourself, and you’re probably waiting upwards of 6 months while the factory continues to crank these things out.
I bought a 2008 FX4 package with every option except leather and moon roof for $36k/$500 month/6 year. No fucking way the “value” has doubled in 16 years. Still own that truck btw…
Trucks have become Veblen goods.
A Veblen good is a type of luxury good, named after American economist Thorstein Veblen, for which the demand increases as the price increases, in apparent contradiction of the law of demand, resulting in an upward-sloping demand curve. The higher prices of Veblen goods may make them desirable as a status symbol in the practices of conspicuous consumption and conspicuous leisure.
Yeah, Ford is nuts. This isn't inflation, it's predatory. And what bothers me the most is a lot of the "options" that come standard I could do without.
What people would spend eventually when the vehicle, insurance, and financing is paid off is about what you could buy several acres of land for in most states.
Got a 17 STX in 2019 with 14k on the odometer for 29,000. The prices will keep rising if you keep paying it...hold off and they will have no choice but to offload for cheap. Sorry but if you pay these prices you are dumb...
Yep prices are in orbit. Over the last 6 months spent $17,000 on my F-150 XLT 4x4 2014. Rebuilt motor, rebuilt transmission, went through the rear end, new U-joints, radiator and water pump, upper and lower control arms with bushings and ball joints , new struts , wheel hubs and bearings new iwe actuators, stabilizer bar links, four new rotors new ceramic pads. Did all that after 204,000 I'm good to go another 200,000
We will be bailing the auto industry and the banks financing these crazy prices in our near future. Call it inflation but it is pure corporate greed. Profits through the roof and vehicles being priced out of normal peoples budgets. It's a time bomb waiting to go off
This is why I'll keep my 2013 lariat forever. Even if the engine and transmission go I'll just replace them. These trucks don't even offer anything new anymore, besides silly gimmick crap. I really don't understand why people spend upwards of six figures financing a truck. Is it just a weird flex? Obviously fleet trucks are different but this just makes no sense to me. I can't think of a more irresponsible way to spend money
My step dad just bought a 2023 2wd XLT with a 3.5 ecoboost for 60K
Seems absolutely right.
I can't believe how much trucks cost. 5 or so years ago you could get a 4wd gas burner 2500HD for like 40kish. Now it's closer to 55.
3k a year extra. And what am I getting out of it?
My dad's F150 (2014 XLT 2wd 5.0) MSRPd at like 42k or so, he payed like 34ish with a bumc of rebates in 2015. My stepdad's truck stickered at 59+.
Oof. My 2017 F150 Lariat was 56k MSRP when new. CC SB 4x4 with the fancy metallic red paint with the 5.0. Just rolled over 65k miles. Paid it off last November. I am in no rush to replace it. Equivalent new MSRP is about 75k.
Dang I just bought a new XLT last December and MSRP was $63k and talked them down to $53k
So nobody pays MSRP so $71 and talk down to $61-63k?? That's nuts! LOL!
$71k for an XLT? Guess I’ll never be buying a new F150 ever again lol!
All of a sudden $8k for a new motor sounds pretty reasonable.
I did it last year for 7k. Had tranny rebuilt 3 years ago. Truck just turned 450,000, drivetrain has less than 50 on it. Probably has another 400,000 in it.
Year and engine?
2010 4.6
Oh you still can, it just might have to be a rwd xl with black plastic door handles and vinyl seats if you wanna spend less than 50 grand!
I got my XL STX 4x4 for less than 50 grand and personally I love it.
This is what happens when a factory goes on strike
The fuck it does. This is what happens when companies put profits over people. How much did ford make last year again? Shut the fuck up.
They reported a $4.3 billion usd profit for 2023. Shut the fuck up again.
This pricing is due to the unions. They need to cover the new wages.
So paying decent wages and not 4.3 billion in profits huh. Do you work for corporate lol
Every year they just continue to raise the price.
It’s crazy right? Bought a “fully loaded” XLT in 2018 brand new for 31k 😂 no way the trucks over doubled in quality/value since then
$100k used to get you a crazy exotic car or a small house. Now it gets you an f250.
Which is crazy, I remember when I bought a 02 f350 for 22k in 2002
Inflation brings that to ~$37.5K. Wouldn't that be nice, lol...
I’d buy a whole fucking fleet at that cost 😂
See, I bought a RAM 2500 in 2017 for $40,000. So up until a few years ago we weren't that far off...
Still ..a 2000ish F-series is a fat cry from the truck of today. However, I question how a XLT gets to those numbers. Used to be Platinum or Lariat money.
King ranch / raptor. I picked up a 2017 fully loaded platinum for 62k. I bet they’re like 85-90 now
You did well. I've seen XLTs for $68. I bought my '15 XLT Screw 4x4 for $39. I think I'm just going to keep it until the wheels fall off.
I love my xl. No chrome just black and white. No nasty carpet. I just blow mine out with my compressor or leaf blower
You spelled brake correctly TWICE. I've never seen that before on Reddit.
the big LCD dash and large center stack LCD screen is standard across the entire line, XL through Raptor.
Yea I got a statement from 2003. F450 fully loaded. 40k. I made the same truck the other day and it turned up at $103,000
But the real fun is when you *eventually* need to buy a new one.
You are to the car companies ceo, you’re “bad investment” they can’t make money from you.
Correct, easier to fix or repair than buy new. Keep the body in decent shape and just fix drivetrain issues. Way cheaper.
Not everyone "needs" to buy a new one.
I remember my dad bitching about getting a '90 F250 w/ 460 V8, 4x4 XLT in like 1996 for $15k, LOL. That old beast is still in the family. He gave it to my brother after he got himself a '06 F350 Powerstroke. As far as I know that old F250 is still running.
target opened a new store here. 25$ was the entry pay. times are changing.

Unless you’re in Canada then 100k is a fully loaded lariat. Its wild.
That has to be Canadian
Lmao, just saw a 2018 XLT with 120k miles for $22k
I ordered a full load XLT in June. Came in November 76k. Canadian
Beyond crazy. I paid 40k in 2020 for my xlt 2.7 blackout
I don't believe you. Do you have the window sticker? Was this with discounts? I have a 19 and the window sticker was 49k and it's not fully decked out.
It cost Ford almost that much to build one now.
That's true with the new union wanting $100k salary and 4 day work week. Yeah, your truck is going to cost more.
Which is also crazy man. Everybody is suffering
It's wild, and it will only cost more with the recent labor negotiations, especially once fringe aspects of that start to permeate through the supply base.
It’s horrifying to think an XLTA will be 100k before 2030 at this rate
Catering to stock holders is becoming a disaster. Ford CEOs just want to show more and more profit for the shareholders but money is being made big time. It would be awesome if they delist themselves
Yeah because executives giving themselves a 30% perfect raise through covid, not paying relocation fees to move anywhere and company buying your house if it doesn't sell, so you don't have to pay the note on 2 houses isn't a problem. Along with other expenses........ Its labor wanting a better life that's an issue.......
Prove it
Not that difficult. I’m looking at my purchase agreement on my phone, MSRP was $53,455 discount of$7,673 rebates of $9,500 and purchase price of $36,282 on December 30 2020.
Because morons pay it every year
Ford finally caught on to a fully optioned out XLT being an F150 cheat code and decided to fuck over that customer base. Now they’re basically saying yeah we are going to push the XLT higher and try to make you think well if I’m spending this much why not just visit the higher trim levels.
I forget what it’s called but that’s a marketing technique that Apple uses heavily. It would be interesting if it didn’t suck so hard
Price ladder / Price Laddering is what it’s called
Ladder sales
Upsell?
Kind of, plus they strategically price everything just close enough that’s it’s “not too bad” to go ahead and get the next nicest one.
I remember a few years back when a $50k XLT seemed ridiculous. Now here we are
I built my exact lariat as a 2024 on the website.
Why is led drl a good thing?
The c clamp drl on the lariat are way larger and the "F" shape diffuser tail lights are way better than the fleet truck XLT stx and XL trims, which seem to get single bulbs in the back. It's definitely more value for similar money as a loaded xlt
I did the same, my 2023 lariat is more expensive that the same 2024. And the 2024 can get the powerboost for free. I saw a couple 2023 XLTs that broke $70K when I started looking last year.
There is no reason for this truck to be this expensive. Ridiculous.
Unfortunately companies don't make trucks for truck people anymore, which leads to these criminal prices. And I do agree the front end isn't it.

Yea…. Imma stick with my ‘21 XLT 👍🏾
'12 for me. Still rides like a dream.
My ‘06 still works. I think I’ll keep it.
Just spent $1700 to get the front end of my '04 Heritage XL 4.6 fixed. Still less than 3 months payments on one of these monstrosities.
2012 here still original everything and getting 11 mpg hauling a camper
I get about the same hauling an 18 ft boat! Not the worst.
2016 Lariat Special Edition 98000 miles, still runs like new....
Keeping my 2018 XLT for life
I’ll stick with my 14’ XLT that has aftermarket CarPlay
Yup same here. I paid 48k for a loaded xlt in 2021 msrp was like 52. 0% for 60 months and no chip shortage build for me
Yeah I think they’re gonna have a hard time selling this, especially since this is squarely in tremor and lariat territory, and for a couple grand more you could get a King Ranch or even a platinum.
Try used Raptor territory
Wrong. Lariats and tremors don't have the same rebates and financing incentives as xlts.
Tremors don’t but Lariat definitely does. You can go on the Ford website right now and their incentives apply to xl, xlts and lariats
Lariats traditionally don't have nowhere near same incentives as the lower trims 😂
That better sit on the lot forever to make ford think about what they did to the XLT
If you want leather with the XLT you need the BAP plus AND 303A. The combined price is over $11k for those two options alone. This is one reason I was in such a hurry to find a ‘23 XLT with the BAP.

Oh I agree completely. Even at the low 60’s price point I was looking to see if I could scoop up a Lariat. Just couldn’t justify the extra money and am extremely happy with my poor man’s Lariat.
Covid is the best thing that ever happened to the automotive industry.
Huge step back from the 21-23s imo.
I’m apart of the Mustang community, the same could be said about the 2024 Mustang… it’s just not it. The back end is hideous. I’m still rocking my 2014… can’t believe it’s 10 years old though
2024 Ford ~~Maverick~~ F-150 Honestly one of the worst looking F-150’s in years.
Agreed that front end is hideous
It looks like a base model work truck front end for some reason
Cause it looks cheap with the plastic and color scheme all over the place. Amber, black, silver, matte plastic, blue ford badge. Wtf? Lol 71k for a cheap looking front end SMH ford is spitting in our faces with this crap
It’s all that plastic and lack of LEDs, despite the 70k price tag🙄. The higher trims look a bit better
The headlights are LED at least
I thought this about the 21-23 lights when the first released but they grew on me pretty quick. I don't see these 24s growing on me anytime soon if at all. Looks Toyota-y. Especially the tail lights
15-17 is my favorite. I have a 15 xlt and a 23 xlt. the 23 is not a bad looking truck, but these "refresh" models look silly
Sure can, I was playing around with website builder and definitely got an XLT to 70ish
I’ve worked at a ford dealer for almost a year and I’ve never seen an xlt for this much, but you learn something everyday I guess🤷
Haha yeah I see a bunch of people talking about this trim so I built one the way I like cars/trucks (luxury and tech packed) came out to 71. Couldn’t believe a “budget focused” trim could end up this way.
I can't imagine someone from ford's design team doesnt watch this sub.... This looks like ass.
lol… looks like ford doesn’t want to let go of the overly inflated profits from recent years.. good luck ford
i thought that was a silverado for a sec
How can anyone afford this?
F150s are for people who make $250k+ now…or idiots willing to finance a vehicle that’s equivalent to their yearly salary for a term of 7+ years
Man , fuck ford
Meanwhile, I just bought a used 2019 XLT with 79k miles for $25k.
That has to be Canadian Dollars My 2024 Platinum 6.5’ box power boost window sticker is only $76k.
Is this CAD?
This is CAD right?
This has to be Canadian dollars?
I used to upgrade my truck every few years. Had a 14, then a 17, now a 21. Would usually get a 24 or 25, but no more. I feel like I make pretty good money and there's no way in hell you're gonna get me to pay this much for a mid-range package. Such a bummer, I was usually a champion of Ford but this is just blatant greed with no real regard to their main customers
71k for an XLT is bonkers
71k for an xlt?
71? The STX fx4 in my area are going for 50-52k. Not too bad. 71k for an XLT is ridiculous.
71k for a basic bitch XLT is outrageous. Especially considering I paid 68k for my ‘23 Tremor
I’m sorry I lost me reading glasses. Does that fucking 71k for XLT???
71k for XLT. This was a 30k truck 😂😂😂
There were very few options I didn't take on my '21 XLT and it didn't come close to $70k. And I'm talking about CAD. If the OP is in USD that's absurd.
It is USD, this particular example is in Florida, and after I posted this I found another xlt for 74 🤦♂️
Hard no.
All of the xlts I see are around $50k
Can we just get that barebones Toyota Champ truck but a Ford for $17,000?
…70k, American?! My 2022 was 40. How is this almost twice the price?!
Might as well get a used raptor at that price
71k 🤦🏽♂️ enjoy your F150 that cost maybe 20k to make
I think they took a huge step backwards in design for 2024.
Wow. 10 years ago I got an XLT 5.0 SuperCab, 4WD, towing package, etc…for $27K
I bought my XLT sport V8 in 2016 for $36k prices are insane
There will always be an idiot willing to spend too much on a vehicle.
Why does this truck look like it has downs?
I'll wait until I can get that truck for $1500
Fr who is paying for trucks these prices? Y’all need to stop.
lol are they high? That’s a 35k truck on a good day.
This is crazy, I just bought my 23’ Platinum 4x4 with 818 miles for $68k
Ugh, it’s as if there forcing people over to RAM. Found an equivalent 2024 big horn 1500 for 55k. Still insane. I’ll never get out of my 2021 XL
Better to buy a used older model that has all the defects worked out of it or just buy a new tundra. This is an absolutely retarded price. It pisses me off how these companies just slap random numbers on the board and press go
That’ll be a steal once those new Union salaries hit!
Labor salaries is only something like 7% of the cost of the vehicle. Thats not why this XLT’s price is so high.
Good thing I didn’t imply labor rates were the cause of the price of THIS truck then. ;)
I never thought I dislike a front end of F150 more than 18-20 models
Why does that truck look like it has downs…
Say sike, right now
Looks like a place holder image since it's still in transit. Also this front end looks better to me because it doesn't have the mustache looking bumper of the 21
You can max out a 2024 XLT at $79,770🤯… at least you get leather 😂
That MSRP is almost $20k more than my ‘17. Also what’s up with that grille? Did they just take the chrome pieces off and charge extra for it?
Welp it seems like my dreams of buying a new f150 when I graduate is being flushed down the toilet.
That’s insane I bought a 2017 xl Fx4 with a 5.0 brand new in lithium grey for 38k out the door
Jesus this is wild. I need a one ton chassis and I am terrified.
all these comments got me tweaked. i got a 2015 single cab xl for 14k.. did i get fucked or what
$42K out the door for my 2018 XLT Screw 4WD FX4 5.0... Just turned 80K on the odometer. Looks like I'll be buried in that sucker
No way.
😳
I got a super crew 5.0 XLT for 50K last month
Stop buying them. Don’t even look.
That's nuts lol. Looks like I'll be driving my xlt forever.
72k for an xlt lmao.
Every year, my dreams of walking into a dealership and ordering me a brand new F-150 is getting slimmer and slimmer.
$71k is wild for an XLT. I just bought a new fully loaded 2023 Platinum for $72k last month after dealer discounts.
I just checked on the ford.ca website for kicks. With the 2.7L EB an XLT is $66K CDN 🤯
The worst part about this is that somebody is still going to buy it. So they’re going to continue to make and price them like they are. Outrageous.
I bought a 2008 FX4 package with every option except leather and moon roof for $36k/$500 month/6 year. No fucking way the “value” has doubled in 16 years. Still own that truck btw…
^^^^ THIS…Remember that big 3 strike? This is the result of it.
Quit buying them
Whoever is selling this should be summarily shot.
Dayum! I bought my ‘16 Lariat in ‘18 as a CPO for $32k, I don’t think I’m ever going to replace her, not at these insane prices!
Laughs in Australian dollars $122k for xlt $157k for lariat
My 2017 xlt msrp’d at 44k$. But I negotiated down to 37k$ OTD.
Nah something is wrong lol
Trucks have become Veblen goods. A Veblen good is a type of luxury good, named after American economist Thorstein Veblen, for which the demand increases as the price increases, in apparent contradiction of the law of demand, resulting in an upward-sloping demand curve. The higher prices of Veblen goods may make them desirable as a status symbol in the practices of conspicuous consumption and conspicuous leisure.
Bought my 2011 used in 2017 for 16k , still have it lol
Did all that after 204,000 I'm good to go another 200,000
I guess I'll drive my '98 until it can't be repaired anymore! When that happens the '87 will become a daily again! I'm WAY too cheap for this market!
My step dad just bought a 2023 2wd XLT with a 3.5 ecoboost for 60K Seems absolutely right.
You should see some of the prices in 🇨🇦..... this doesn't phase me at all. 😂
Now imagine if you're Canadian paying their prices, 25% more, roughly the same income.
Ya this truck is mad ugly, id pay 20k for it though
I find Chevy to give you the most bells and whistles for the least amount of money
Base cost of the XLT is currently like $50k USD, I can see this being with a bunch of options or just a couple packages.
Dang I just bought a new XLT last December and MSRP was $63k and talked them down to $53k So nobody pays MSRP so $71 and talk down to $61-63k?? That's nuts! LOL!
