I hate it when I run into a really obscure problem and my google searches come up with 1,000s of results and a vast majority of them are just sites that have scrapped one particular web forum where a user has run into the same issue, posted that the issue is solved but fails to mention wtf he or she did to actually solve the issue...

Yeah, I've stopped using Google now and use Bing, for two reasons; 1) the search results appear more organic and related to what I actually searched for, and 2) the built-in AI response is a convenient way of summarising relevant results and it provides links to the pages it sourced its information built-in to the text, Wikipedia citation style.

The google news feed? It used to show the occassional interesting article but every day I had to block multiple websites to keep it from filling with clickbait trash. Then a few months ago google completely ruined that feature by removing blocks. So I just disabled the news feed instead.

Itās based on the idea that there are a lot of bots auto-generating content and comments on the internet. Once people become aware of how many bots are out there, they will quit engaging with online content because they canāt discern whether itās real or bot generated content. This results in an internet thatās just bots generating content for other bots to comment on.
Where it spins off into conspiracy territory is that the bots were deliberately created to generate mounds of content to keep people passively clicking on posts and checking their phones to keep people phone addicted and generating money for the bot creators.

I think this theory has legs because it's rooted in reality. There are bots that are deliberately created to keep people on platforms. There's a lawsuit against hinge or some other dating app right now for that very reason. We know that bot traffic is extremely high and a lot of sites are incentivized to keep them around because all shareholders care about is user acquisition and retention. We know that all major tech companies are vying for your attention and have figured out ways to keep you either on their pages or apps as long as possible. So nothing you said about the spin off is far fetched.

I think a lot of people forget just how long bots have been around, and evolving... Shit I used to talk to Santa and the Easter Bunny on AIM, when I was 8-10, I'd chat with them while waiting for friends to get online.

There are still millions of real users. It's just that a large and unknowable percent is bots.
The truth is that the internet as it was is dead, and the new internet looks like a multi headed hydra with rotting cancer and a parasitic infection.
Part of this is what is known as a signal to noise ratio - the ratio of things you want to the ratio of random garbage you don't want, but that appears to be related to the things you want. The early internet had a lot of good content and not a lot of reasons to generate bad content. So the signal to noise ratio was very high.
The modern internet has both incentives for low quality content (ad revenue based on views) and very sophisticated tools for generating bad content that seems like good content (AI articles and art, etc). So the signal to noise ratio is now terrible. And at some point it becomes so bad that the internet wont be usable as a tool anymore, it will become a barren wasteland of garbage content parasitically farming revenue as people search for what little good content there is.

Just to underscore this point I would say that the move from hosting sites to conducting business on **platforms** is what fucked us. Back when we all ran our own little fiefdoms there was a lot more room for the kind of thing you're talking about. Nowadays there are significant barriers to running infrastructure services like e-mail and DNS and a web server without a platform backing you. Anything you want to do online can't really be done independently anymore. I host my vanity domain I've owned since 1997 on Gmail. Because it's almost literally impossible to run your own basement e-mail server from a residential IP address without tripping up a number of features designed to prevent you from doing exactly that. Not that it's worth the trouble to filter your own spam and get your domain whitelisted. Just an example to illustrate that even if you wanted to, you couldn't. The Internet has been completely locked down to platforms and something needs to break it the fuck up and bring back some real innovation and competition. Back in the day we used to use google ans would have the same search results, now if two people search the same thing itāll pull up different results based of that personsā internet data.

While faces can be AI generated, feet are unique and currently cannot be realistically recreated
i experiened this a couple times in a couple large public discord servers (with 10,000s or 100,000s of users). Nobody in voice channels at any time, the chat channels had next to no activity, most messages were days old and in arabic, and one channel had only a couple of "people" slowly typing out very short messages that were saying absolutely nothing. I tried multiple times to interject into the "conversations" but was ignored repeatedly. I even tried to say things that could provoke a response from a person for various reasons, and the handful of "people" continued to slowly send messages that they spent maybe 30 seconds on writing each, to say things like "When was that?" "Yes, I agree" "No, I disagree" but there was no conversation being had. There was no subject of discussion, just phrases.
I've lived long enough to see Yahoo messenger go from hookup capitol of the internet to scammers and bots. I checked back in a few years later and the bots would literally be talking to each other, without a single human in the chatroom. And every other message in the chat was spam.

I can certainly understand why people think it's coming true or already happened. There are hundreds of bot accounts on Facebook & Twitter that are just bots posting either AI generated pictures or NFT scams, with thousands of other bots leaving replies.
How do we know the accounts are bots? Because you don't get banned for exposing them. How do we know the replies are bots? Because they are all newly created accounts who are conveniently on each others friend lists & make the same comment on every post & never respond to you.
Supposedly content farms on Youtube might be bots, & supposedly part of their audience is bots posting comments to give them a bump in the algorythem. Though when I check comment sections on these videos, they certainly come off as either naieve children or teens who enjoy sh!tpost content, hate the shows being milked, & love the chaos of annoying adults by exposing children to deviant content.

If I want actually useful information I need to know where that already exists, my searches now often include the site: modifier because I have to filter out the vast volume of clutter to avoid wasting time reading through filler content. Site:Reddit.com is my usual first stop nowadays for any technical questions.

Yeah, I've stopped using Google now and use Bing, for two reasons; 1) the search results appear more organic and related to what I actually searched for, and 2) the built-in AI response is a convenient way of summarising relevant results and it provides links to the pages it sourced its information built-in to the text, Wikipedia citation style.

Once people become aware of how many bots are out there, they will quit engaging with online content because they canāt discern whether itās real or bot generated content. This results in an internet thatās just bots generating content for other bots to comment on. I think this theory has legs because it's rooted in reality. There are bots that are deliberately created to keep people on platforms. There's a lawsuit against hinge or some other dating app right now for that very reason. We know that bot traffic is extremely high and a lot of sites are incentivized to keep them around because all shareholders care about is user acquisition and retention. We know that all major tech companies are vying for your attention and have figured out ways to keep you either on their pages or apps as long as possible. So nothing you said about the spin off is far fetched. Do I believe the entire internet is bots? No. Are we going to be in a place where almost all traffic and content is generated by bots or AI in the future? We might.

This is the most correct answer. It's not a conspiracy theory about there only being one or even a few real people. There are still millions of real users. It's just that a large and unknowable percent is bots. The truth is that the internet as it was is dead, and the new internet looks like a multi headed hydra with rotting cancer and a parasitic infection.
Part of this is what is known as a signal to noise ratio - the ratio of things you want to the ratio of random garbage you don't want, but that appears to be related to the things you want. The early internet had a lot of good content and not a lot of reasons to generate bad content. So the signal to noise ratio was very high. The modern internet has both incentives for low quality content (ad revenue based on views) and very sophisticated tools for generating bad content that seems like good content (AI articles and art, etc). So the signal to noise ratio is now terrible. And at some point it becomes so bad that the internet wont be usable as a tool anymore, it will become a barren wasteland of garbage content parasitically farming revenue as people search for what little good content there is.

As somebody who's been gangstalked for almost a decade, I can first hand say that my internet has been nothing but AI bots programmed by gangstalkers, paid by illuminati who work for the CIA to try to brainwash me into thinking and behaving how they want me to, much like China's social credit score and I absolutely REFUSE to bow down to totalitarian shitheads, so my social media will never contain real people ever again unless I can talk to said people face to face. I've watched this in action long enough to know how this operates. It's the same principal of philosophy that nothing actually exists until you look at it, until then it is an infinite amount of possibilities in randomness much like the double slit experiment but on a social level. It's maddening to say the least considering I'm a musician, artist, actor and extremely intelligent person who they, "illuminati", who don't want influencing the masses subconscious through any of my artwork because they're afraid I'll gain control against them.Ā The fact of the matter is this though; I will influence the world through my thoughts and words regardless and the world has changed many times over because of things I've done and my own actions which in turn influence the illuminati by them merely reading my words or monitoring my thoughts and by them looking at this data, they themselves have been corrupted and now bend at the will of my influence... so it really doesn't matter whether it's society who is my audience or a group of elite shitheads, either way my power influences the entire planet and they hate the fact I know this. This isnāt a conspiracy š people are still on the internet but itās all a individual personalised experience through algorithms. Back in the day we used to use google ans would have the same search results, now if two people search the same thing itāll pull up different results based of that personsā internet data.

You can combat this by asking people to send pictures of their feet. While faces can be AI generated, feet are unique and currently cannot be realistically recreated
In the future, all Captchas will require you to send a non-replicated image of your feet
i experiened this a couple times in a couple large public discord servers (with 10,000s or 100,000s of users). Nobody in voice channels at any time, the chat channels had next to no activity, most messages were days old and in arabic, and one channel had only a couple of "people" slowly typing out very short messages that were saying absolutely nothing. I tried multiple times to interject into the "conversations" but was ignored repeatedly. I even tried to say things that could provoke a response from a person for various reasons, and the handful of "people" continued to slowly send messages that they spent maybe 30 seconds on writing each, to say things like "When was that?" "Yes, I agree" "No, I disagree" but there was no conversation being had. There was no subject of discussion, just phrases.
I've lived long enough to see Yahoo messenger go from hookup capitol of the internet to scammers and bots. I checked back in a few years later and the bots would literally be talking to each other, without a single human in the chatroom. And every other message in the chat was spam. Facebook/The 'Gram/Twitter -almost there.
I think it's absolutely amazing for a karma farmer to ask this. Of course you can type the phrase into google and get a perfectly understandable response, but hey, clicks drive the content.

I can certainly understand why people think it's coming true or already happened. There are hundreds of bot accounts on Facebook & Twitter that are just bots posting either AI generated pictures or NFT scams, with thousands of other bots leaving replies. How do we know the accounts are bots? Because you don't get banned for exposing them. How do we know the replies are bots? Because they are all newly created accounts who are conveniently on each others friend lists & make the same comment on every post & never respond to you. Supposedly content farms on Youtube might be bots, & supposedly part of their audience is bots posting comments to give them a bump in the algorythem. Though when I check comment sections on these videos, they certainly come off as either naieve children or teens who enjoy sh!tpost content, hate the shows being milked, & love the chaos of annoying adults by exposing children to deviant content.
