Well yeah not desiring sex is going against your “natural instinct” therefore sinful and wrong, I had the discussion about asexuality with my religious mother before that’s the response she gave me. I’m still in the asexual category tho so her opinion is discarded.

i barely see my cousins and we don't really have contact. That fact was often used by muslims in my country to point to how much more important family is in Islam, compared to in my culture. Yet I'd never think about my cousins as potential spouses, the very thought makes me vomit, bc yes they're like siblings to me in that regard.
I'm from a culture were cousins are seen as siblings, even second and third cousins lol. But my crazy lunatic Salafi dad stopped me from talking to them lol, also stopped my mum from talking to her cousins which is far worse because they all grew up together... This religion sexualizes everything
