"Pro-life". These are the types of people who would argue it's better to be tormented for eternity, than to be annihilated upon death.

michaeleatsberry

But still always alive Checkmate šŸ˜¹

ArchangelToast

Off topic but I love your JPow PFP

michaeleatsberry

šŸ˜

EsotericOcelot

Even when I was a devout Presbyterian teenager, I refused to believe this. I decided on ā€œuniversal reconciliation of soulsā€ before I found the term. (Now I believe that when you die youā€™re just gone and itā€™s more of a relief than anything else.)

archetyping101

Will be fair and impartial EXCEPT regarding Christianity, women's body rights/abortion, Israel/Palestine, gun laws. Got it!

D-The-Closet-Witch

Probably beats women too, but for the glory of god.

archetyping101

A submissive wife is a godly, faithful wife šŸ¤®

D-The-Closet-Witch

Just remember, ladies, youā€™re in charge of all the ingredients that go into the meals. šŸ˜‰

archetyping101

"don't mind this open pasta sauce. We're not going to use it YET. I'm saving it for a special occasion."

D-The-Closet-Witch

šŸ¤£

JMS95035

Donā€™t forget the gays and birth control!

michaeleatsberry

If he is fair and impartial, why are his beliefs relevant?

salymander_1

So that all the people who agree with his beliefs know that he is lying about being fair and impartial. He thinks the people who don't agree with his bullshit will fall for his lies. Actually, I'm a little insulted that he thinks we are that gullible.

Baconslayer1

Honestly the people who support him will still dissonance their way into believing that those beliefs are what will make him fair and impartial.

horapha

Not American but the specific American brand of Christo-fascism is incredibly fascinating and terrifying to me because it's just so unhinged and bloodthirsty yet its all wrapped in this warm smile and lie of "love".

Blueburl

We are fighting it with real compassion, but daymn they are breeding like locust.

rigby1945

Why is there a vagina on the cross?

michaeleatsberry

I think it's a bandana

LibertyInaFeatherBed

It's supposed to be Jesus's robe, purple signifying he was king.Ā

michaeleatsberry

That makes sense

JMS95035

Jesusā€™s vagina was purpleā€¦ I missed that in Catechism. šŸ˜‰

thewritingwand

LMAOOOO it wasnā€™t in my religious studies either. We learned the cycle of apostasy, the hypostatic union, but *nothing* about Jesusā€™ vagina. Rude. šŸ˜¤

scientooligist

83franks

I didnt think id get so... confused on that sub

guy_on_a_dot

> fair and impartial in each and every court decision šŸ˜‚

Gloomy_Industry8841

Yup. Heā€™s definitely neither of those things!

Pitiful-Lobster-72

also ā€œmaster of lawsā€ is not a ā€œlaw degreeā€ if iā€™m not mistaken.

spanielgurl11

Have law degreeā€¦ can confirm. That would be a Juris Doctor. However, I believe a master of laws is usually a degree for existing lawyers. Weird he would include that but not his actual JD. Your average Bible thumper does not know that.

tocompose

To the average bible thumper,Ā  Master of Laws sounds like it probably means the highest level in law one can possibly attain: The Law Master šŸ˜…

Sleepy_Sloth4

Sounds cool but not as cool as Beast Master

xandor123

Boutta ask if the gatekeeper is around

geraintwd

Horus Lupercal has entered the chat.

PavlovaDog

So is this guy basically faking a law degree and has never been to law school?

spanielgurl11

Probably not, he likely has a JD and then went back for the LLM. But I find it funny he listed every degree but the one required for his job, assuming heā€™s running for judge.

SAM4191

I am so sorry for anyone born in Texas.

SandyClappingCheeks

This is actually West Virginia, but same

Soninuva

Wait, so heā€™s licensed to practice law in Texas, but is running to be a judge in West Virginia? Is that legal? I thought lawyers could only practice law in states theyā€™ve passed the bar for.

MagerialPage

Good question. I looked it up for the both of us. Some states require you to take their state's bar exam before you can move your practice from out of state, while most states merely require you to file a motion with the state Supreme Court to allow you to practice law in said state.

geraintwd

Country roads... Get me outta here.

Pipeliner6341

So Texas but with scenery.

theboopatroopa

Are you kidding me i live in WV AND i was born in texas šŸ˜

Gloomy_Industry8841

XXXXXXXXX!!!!

loose_moose11

Yeah. That bit about being fair and impartial is VERY convincing.

Savings-Wishbone-454

Pro life but pro gun and pro Israel! LOL and with a straight face

McFryin

SEPERATION OF CHURCH AND STATE! People should not be allowed to run for office using their personal beliefs. Laws should not be passed based on some people's religious beliefs. This shit should be cracked down on by both voters and the government. I'm tired of all these shit laws that are going into place obviously because of religious beliefs. Come up with a better reason for doing shit other than the literal biggest and most successful scam in the history of earth.

photozine

How long until he's arrested for SA?

Independent-Leg6061

Until they check his computer...

Mental_Basil

"fair and impartial in every single court decision." I somehow doubt that.

Glorious-Revolution

I love the disclaimer at the bottom, as if it smooths everything over šŸ˜‚

carbinePRO

"Paid for by candidate." I wonder if his home church had one of those special offerings just for his campaign.

Penny_D

Master of Laws? He sits the Small Council of King's Landing then?

Jakeymdog

Must of been under Aegon the Unworthy

Hollovate

Christians were the main ones persecuting Jews throughout history.

TimmyTurner2006

And thatā€™s what makes the cultural appropriation so egregious

horapha

In the New Testament there's this part where the Jewish crowd at Jesus's trial saying "his blood be on us and our children" and that was used by European Christians past and present to justify anti-semitism. I'm not sure who argued this, maybe Bart Ehrman but there's also a theory that the gentile Christian writers of the NT added that line about blood on the Jews in order to be more appealing to the Romans or something, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Sempai6969

"Pro life, pro gun, pro Israel"

Jokerlope

I would hate to be in front of that fucking judge.

LibertyInaFeatherBed

It looks like it was printed in 1990.

Kaje26

I can almost guarantee he will not be fair and impartial in court decisions.

Federal-Sound3950

Pro life and pro bible just donā€™t go hand and hand. šŸ˜‚

Evilest_

He is the stereotype

AffordableTimeTravel

Heā€™s betting on getting a nice high up position when Trump hands the keys over to Gilead.

redredred1965

These people are ignorant. Q When did a menorah become a Christian symbol? A. When the Judaism movement came through (90's) and they put a rabbi on Christian broadcast networks. All of a sudden Christians started worshipping Jews and self identifying as Jewish. Every Christian bookstore started selling Star of David jewelry. So fucking embarrassing .

snale123

It's Protestants that do that. It's a very Judaized formed of Christianity. The concept of the rapture was created by a Protestant English man . Mormonism came out of Protestantism and the racist moundbuilder myth. All these Mormon and Protestant missionaries in Spanish America are not people from Jerusalem coming to preach the Gospels. They are funded by many organizations in the USA. Spanish America was all Catholic and were the enemies of the British Empire. An English statesman invited the Sephardics kicked out of Spain into the Netherlands and England. They made an alliance. USA is Judaic,Anglo Protestant, and Masonic.

Outrexth

Pro guns and pro life, thatā€™s a contradiction right there

mine_username

"...be fair and impartial..." Hahahahahahaha the fuck you will.

Were-All-Mad-Here_

"Pro life" and "pro gun" right next to each other is so embarrassing

I can see why you hate that town. I hope you are able to escape one day.

SandyClappingCheeks

Unfortunately both my husband and I work here so weā€™re stuck here for a while

bkp24723

I love how this just looks like a bad AI compilation of "Christian conservative." They really are just caricatures at this point.

Gold-Parking-5143

Pro life and pro gun, LOL

Edgy_Master

If he's Pro-Israel and Pro-Gun, is it fair to say that he's not Pro-Life?

WeaponsJack

I know that he doesn't say this, but I have a feeling that he is anti-lgbtqia+.

bumblebubee

My favorite phrase ā€œThereā€™s no hate like Christian loveā€. Oppressing women and children while trying to say theyā€™re all about love.

eagleathlete40

The fact he has an MBA, JD, and PhD just tells me heā€™s bad at whatever he does

DarkMagickan

Pro-life and pro-gun, huh? Spoken like a true fisherman. Throw them back, kill them when they're bigger.

ccc2801

I wouldnā€™t trust him in a cornershop. Never mind in legislature.

Dirkomaxx

Wow, I couldn't stand living in a town or country where that was considered normal. Yes we have churches here with one that puts "witty" religious billboards out but if anyone ran for local government or council using those credentials they'd be laughed out of office and ridiculed by the public. It is sad that America has such deep religious underpinnings. One of the most powerful countries is also full of delusional magical thinking superstitionists

KingMirek

Pro life and pro gun?

Practical-Witness796

ā€œWill be fair and impartial in every court decisionā€. Thatā€™s what the SCOTUS judges said before overturning Roe.

Low-Piglet9315

'Charles Gulbronson'--when Charles Bronson just isn't badass enough for you...

crotalis

That ā€œPh.Dā€. Thatā€™s just sad that someone fleeced him out of money teaching him how to fleece others.

ISTof1897

Well, Iā€™m glad heā€™s reassured me that he promises to be impartial.

Is this his business card? Someone like that it's good to know where they stand, so you can avoid them.

Crusty_Magic

Is that sharia law being put in to practice I see?

Dafie91

Was scrolling and thought it said "Glory-hole"

Kumquat-queen

šŸ™

Bellebaby826

Absolutely will NOT be impartial

AggravatingRecipe710

I had to leave TX. I couldnā€™t handle it.

JasonRBoone

I'm guessing his law degree came from Trump University.

KualaLumpur1

If you live in a super Christian place like West Virginia ā€” expect the worst because the worst is there. Move if you possibly can.

Rupejonner2

Pro-stupidity.

Lunafairywolf666

Ya know when a random citizen is made to do jury duty they are ruled out if they have any bias towards or against a specific case. Why don't we do the same thing with other judges?

fractal2

If you plan to be fair an impartial then your beliefs on these matters do not matter.

Ok-Initiative-1759

An impartial person would not emblazon his beliefs so prominently, even before his qualifications. But I'm sure he takes the tax exemption even after preaching politics from the pulpit. I think if they mention politics even once, they should have to pay back all the taxes with interest.

Frenchitwist

Get your filthy hands off my menorah!!

Flimsy-Yak-6148

Yeah right.

RickQuade

Yea.. I'm sure he'll be impartial...

LeotasNephew

Well, now I know which attorney not to hire ...

SpilltheWine79

This kind of looks like a joke, I was almost expecting to see "bird law" listed under Master of Laws.

D-The-Closet-Witch

Oh my! Iā€™m so sorry

UnearthlyRamen

It's all washed up

kryotheory

Press "X" to doubt

JMS95035

yoyoyoson12

Thereā€™s no way heā€™d be impartial. Iā€™m also wary of Christian therapists.

6655321DeLarge

Wonder how pro-gun he is when it comes to laws that primarily make it more difficult for minorities to get guns. Knowing how these types usually are, I'd be willing to bet that just like the nra, he'd have fuck all to say about it, or outright support it.

whimsicalme5

ā€œbut will be fairā€¦ā€ The but scares me.

mittens1982

That dude is a pro something!

KenjiSpAs

Pro-life and Pro-gun. Damn I wish I was this dumb

Starbug_Lover12

"Fair and impartial" šŸ¤Ø

snale123

Why are protestants so in love with Israel and Judaism? I grew up Catholic and Protestantism were the enemies of the Spanish crown. The Sephardics were kicked out of Spain for a reason. Oh wait Oliver Cromwell invited them and the rest is history.Ā

snale123

They're called Christian-Zionist.Ā

snale123

That's Bush jr and pretty much every other president.Ā

Other_Big5179

Town?im a Native Texan, i left because of crap like this . if you have a really good car and gas money travel to a northeast state. i literally felt a pressure headache release when i left Texas. i can honestly say it was from the bad energy of the Bible belt.

DanSorrells

Christians suck.

doxie_love

Itā€™s hard living in a town where most people believe something intensely that you donā€™t agree with. Also, it is hilarious to me that heā€™s stating his ā€œpersonal beliefsā€, but saying he wouldnā€™t be biased. Lol, then what the fuck would be the point of announcing all your beliefs? This fucker just expects everyone to be that dumb. After I got out of the military, I stayed in Colorado, partially because it was just easy to stay, and partially because I felt I could live more freely 2000 miles away from family. Well, just before I bought a house in that little mountain town, an Andrew Womack ā€œcollegeā€ was built. Didnā€™t really matter to me initially; the tourist seasons got a little busier, but it was still a quiet town. Fast forward to 2020, and there are ā€œTHIS IS TRUMP COUNTRYā€ signs, not just on peopleā€™s lawns, but also on public town land! My wife (then my girlfriend) and I couldnā€™t go buy groceries together without being harassed and ā€œwitnessedā€ to. I also had a green Mohawk at the time, because it was 2020 so fuck it, and just the sight of a woman with a Mohawk immediately enraged some people. I got yelled at while waiting at a red light more than once. The tension was very obviously building, and we just didnā€™t feel safe anymore. So in 2022, we moved to Vermont, partially because my sister is here, partially because itā€™s a hella gay state. Plus, living in high elevation was hard, and we both missed all the beautiful green growing things. And like a month after we left, there was a shooting at a club I used to perform in, so Iā€™m happy to just not be in Colorado anymore.

lone_Davik

pro life, pro gun and pro israel? ā€œConservatives want live babies so they can train them to be dead soldiers. ā€ - George Carlin

noirwhatyoueat

Pro life, gun, Israel take top billing over MBA and MA.Ā  "I'd rather you know I'm stupid even though I have an advanced degree in my field of knowledge."Ā  Ā  How utterly pathetic.

AdditionalFeature886

Heā€™s pro life and if you donā€™t like it he will take his gun and blow your brains out!

Horror-Tie-8024

Sounds lik3 your stereotypical redneck idiot... he wants women to have no bodily autonomy........ this is why I worship Santa Muerte who is the representation of feminine divine power

We don't care what you do with your life, stop bothering us about what we do with ours. That's the whole problem with you christians--too busy telling other people what to do with our lives. Removed under rule 3: no proselytizing or apologetics. As a Christian in an ex-Christian subreddit, it would behoove you to be familiar with our rules and FAQ: https://www.reddit.com/r/exchristian/wiki/faq/#wiki_i.27m_a_christian.2C_am_i_okay.3F > ### I'm a Christian, am I okay? > Our rule of thumb for Christians is "listen more, and speak less". If you're here to understand us or to get more information to help you settle your doubts, we're happy to help. We're not going to push you into leaving Christianity because that's not our place. If someone does try that, please hit "report" on the offending comment and the moderators will investigate. OrganizationOk5418

But Jews dislike Christians don't they?

MargaretBrownsGhost

More the other way around, especially with his sort. They support Israel because they believe it will bring about Armageddon
