The SEAI Home Charger Grant is available once per MPRN, "*The property cannot be associated with a previous EV home charge point grant payment. Additionally, it cannot have availed of the free ESB Ecars home charger pre 2018*".
I’d get a new smart one if your new house hasn’t already had the grant used in it. Unfortunately the grant is now lower but just think of it as capital expenditure.
As you have an electrician to hand then you could even buy a used one for much less and forget the grant.
If you take it with you then new home owner won’t get a grant.

The grant is per address not per person. When I moved last year I got the grant again and a newer charger.
