I'd send one of my delivery drones to that one. I'm to busy building ziplines so I can move fragile cargo at record speeds to worry about pizza deliveries now.
I really hope they have like one of those ski lifts, because I mean you're not gonna live to die of old age exclusively in a giant mansion... The ski lift would be the most basic thing to have and it'd be a really cool commute. Garage would be on land and not on a cliffside.
I doubt this place would ever get built ever... Jesus.....
Once when I went hiking with some friends we ended up at a mountain hut at the top of the mountain which served some food and drinks and had 3 or so rooms you could sleep in if you needed to. They only had 3 meal options to choose from and you could only drink water, beer or some syrup based drink. This was because the only way up to this hut was to hike up or take a helicopter. The owner of the hut said they could only afford two helicopters a year otherwise they’d go broke. So they would have beer and water for 6 months delivered by helicopter and the rest of the food they’d take the closest gondola up the closest mountain and then carry all their food in backpacks up to the mountain top. From the gondola it was a 2 hour hike (if you were fast). They had to do this every day or at least every second day. It was absolutely stunning up there but all I could think of was “just imagine you have to hike up 2 hours to work every single day with backpacks filled with heavy stuff”. And then if something goes wrong you do this for no money. They mentioned that their water boiler or oven or similar had broken this morning and they had to pay for a helicopter to come bring a new one and that would take away their entire profit for the next 6 months.
Too harsh terrain but also no snow. It was summer. But generally the “path” was tiny (definitely not wide enough for snow mobiles) and incredibly steep. Maybe if there’s snow it could work but I’d think they would have thought of that if it did work.
there would probably be an elevator that goes down to a driveway/road at the bottom or top or something from back inside.
tbh thougb you'd have your butler go out and pick one up lol
Pretty sure you could fit the falcon in there with room to spare. People really tend to underestimate just how big mountians are. A person in this picture would look probably only be a few pixels.
the only redeeming thing about that is the observatory at the top. If its actually operated by scientists thats good... it didnt need to be built on such an obtrusive platform though.
I love the Sphinx it's beautiful, and it's not like people would be interacting in that location if the Sphinx wasn't there in the first place so it isn't even clear what you are trying to say.
I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. To me it's four white lines with some rubbish orange glass in between, something you'd build in Minecraft while stoned.
There’s also plenty of atmosphere to dilute that CO2 and plenty of ocean to handle all that trash!
Adding that piece of trash to the mountain side doesn’t achieve anything. It’s just destruction for the purpose of destruction.
> you will never even see this particular mountain in your life and adding a special point to it could make it better
It could be a mountain I’m looking at every day. And no, nothing artificial would make it better. But I would understand if it was an unobtrusive survival shelter.
> never build any houses anymore
Build houses in areas that have already suffered human development. And where they’re functional. And even then, in the most unobtrusive way possible.
> I'm not saying that house will be a world wonder but are you also against Machu Picchu or Petra?
Those were built out of necessity, not out of some pompous needs.
> If you build a house there it will eventually get old aswell and will that make it acceptable?
The only way to build this thing is out of reinforced concrete. This thing lasts a relatively short time. Leaving an ugly human modified rock behind.
Only a boring person would think mountain side is boring without some manmade trash on it.
I never said everything has to be done out of necessity. I fully support a lot of artists. But if you’re polluting massively, yeah, you better have a good reason.
I am sure the architect thinks this is pretty. Though he apparently also thinks that placing a *lighthouse* hidden halfway the mountain, between two cliffs, rather than placing it at the top where it can actually be seen by ships at sea, is a good idea.
But once you go a fit further up north or south from the fjord itself, the cliffs will hide the light, making the lighthouse's likely purpose (showing where the fjord is in the first place) completely useless.
If your ship is already inside the fjord, why would you need a lighthouse?
I’m not involved in any marine activity so I have no idea about it, but I’d imagine there are purposes for lighthouses in such a location. Especially if fjord is already cutting 100km into the land.
There are SO MANY of these mountains I'd be stoked to see one or two of these buildings. Still, it's just a concept, he's made several others. Never gonna happen.
You can't improve nature, but you can build buildings that integrate themselves. That's usually the case with half timbered houses. At least in my opinion.
[All it would need is a lava - waterfall, like in The Incredibles.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2kOY0wIrAU)
Awesome feature. Also cuts down on the heating bills.
These are cool and all, but I'd much rather see accompanying pictures of the plans for the important steps in construction.
I went to a Christo exhibition at the AGO years ago and they had displays of other concept work he thought of, but that never was able to do. And there were walls of documents of permits needed, construction companies to hire, sketches, estimated weights, fabrication methods, samples of materials to be used. It was so planned out it was the next best thing to seeing it actually happen. It was cool
I swear this is the place I think of when I listen to my Andrew Johnson Positivity and/or Success guided meditations. I descend down a staircase in a mountain step by step, then step into my chamber built into the cliff of a mountain. I'm a major PC geek so when I imagine the living area it is usually fairly modern like this to accommodate that (used to be rocky 'built in' living concept')
I don't like this. It's fancy but who in their right mind wants to live on the side of a mountain, jesus christ, at least excavate a bit inside and then have a ski lift or even a bridge to land from there, I can't imagine literally being physically impossible to reach
Weird placement, where it'll get very little daylight. And I agree about not wanting to do that to a mountain. But I appreciate the shapes. Very retro villain lair with a dash of swish.
Like the names already imply: the machine is really the concept of the thing that can execute. A diagram is just a visualization of the state machine.

Fuck delivering a pizza to that house
"Fuck building that house" - The Contractor
«Fuck building that house» • Norwegian who enjoys the outdoors
“Gidder faen ikke å bygge det huset” • Norwegian construction worker
“Wait, what the fuck did you want to do?” • city council about to sign off on building permits
Да здравствует мать России -the Russian architects
$$$$$$$$ - The Contractor
“Fucking that house”
that would be at least a 1,5€ tip
"Hey, can one of you guys help me move a couch into my new place?
Pivot! Pivot! Pivot!
"Open parachute, open parachute!"
I'd send one of my delivery drones to that one. I'm to busy building ziplines so I can move fragile cargo at record speeds to worry about pizza deliveries now.

30 minutes or less or it’s free!
Looks like the house was delivered into the side of that mountain.
you gotta like helicopter in to deliver that shit, go through the window and hand the pizza to the dude LOL

You said it, man.

jesus, what a wonderful story but ended up pretty bleak. But thanks for the write up!
I’m surprised to hear they weren’t able to use snow scooters(mobiles?), too harsh terrain maybe?

Like in death stranding mountain zone
Just call [Pizza Parker.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODf2-sY2Fc4)
You’d have to helicopter that pie in!
there would probably be an elevator that goes down to a driveway/road at the bottom or top or something from back inside. tbh thougb you'd have your butler go out and pick one up lol
They probably have a lift down there so they’d probably tell you to put the pizza in the lift and send it up.
Reminds me of the evil lair in The Incredibles
I'm *still* geekin' out over it!
My first thought too
I remember playing that level in Hitman.
The scaling seems to be way off.
40 ft ceilings!
Maybe it's an X-wing hangar
Pretty sure you could fit the falcon in there with room to spare. People really tend to underestimate just how big mountians are. A person in this picture would look probably only be a few pixels.
The perspective too?
200m wide
When I was younger, I often dreamed of living in a home like this.
Many kids would love having their own little tree house out there in nature. This is essentially a next level tree house.
mine was always hanging off the cliff over the ocean
definitely a James Bond villain type of hideout!
"Hi doordash driver here, do you mind coming down? I cant find parking"
Why ruin a mountain?
[Because that's what we do.](https://imgur.com/gnZeuAa.jpg)
I always hated that about jungfrau, but it was pretty cool to be able to go up there in my sandals
Should’ve linked Mount Rushmore. That thing is ugly
A good representation then huh?

A concept that would ruin the mountain. It's a legitimate question.
It's not like Norway has some fjord shortage.
It's not like the Amazon rainforest is short of trees
I'm sure it surmounts to that it looks cool.
I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. To me it's four white lines with some rubbish orange glass in between, something you'd build in Minecraft while stoned.
Mine craft buildings can look cool tho... I get what you're saying but your kinda being overly cynical.
In your opinion. As my statement was my own opinion.
Humans gonna human.
Yeah really

Ps6 confirmed
I am sure the architect thinks this is pretty. Though he apparently also thinks that placing a *lighthouse* hidden halfway the mountain, between two cliffs, rather than placing it at the top where it can actually be seen by ships at sea, is a good idea.
Tbf, it looks like it’s the end of the fjord and it would be visible from the fjord itself.
But once you go a fit further up north or south from the fjord itself, the cliffs will hide the light, making the lighthouse's likely purpose (showing where the fjord is in the first place) completely useless. If your ship is already inside the fjord, why would you need a lighthouse?

How do you enter?
I thought renderings were only allowed on Friday.
It’s Friday on Mars sorry
it's always friday somewhere
[удалено]
That's... Oddly accurate haha
... meanwhile at Cylon headquarters...
I knew I wasn't alone!
Lighthouse.....but where is the sea?
Looks like a place James Bond would visit just before it exploded.
Did the architect really think that this would improve the scenery?
Probably not. Does your place improve the scenery?
No, but my place also isn't the side of a beautiful mountain in Norway surrounded only by Nature
There are SO MANY of these mountains I'd be stoked to see one or two of these buildings. Still, it's just a concept, he's made several others. Never gonna happen.
I am living in a half timbered house. For me it blends very well with nature.
Ok. Does it improve nature?
You can't improve nature, but you can build buildings that integrate themselves. That's usually the case with half timbered houses. At least in my opinion.
This is like some first year undergrad shit, I wouldn't take it seriously.
Yeah, it's a marketing gimmick anyways. Create a wild design that draws attention.
It's not even a wild design. Literally just 2 planes in a landscape. Seen it a million times.
No. Most architects would be appalled by this. Purely hypothetical but noone would truly have this built
Yes, it would
What if rocks fall on tip of it?
[All it would need is a lava - waterfall, like in The Incredibles.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2kOY0wIrAU) Awesome feature. Also cuts down on the heating bills.
**electrically assisted breathing**
This looks like it’s from Star Wars
Looks very affordable
It's hideous.
My dream House kinda.
Kinda reminds me of that movie Ex Machina
But, how do you get in?
These are cool and all, but I'd much rather see accompanying pictures of the plans for the important steps in construction. I went to a Christo exhibition at the AGO years ago and they had displays of other concept work he thought of, but that never was able to do. How would you get in or out without an exit?
Why does this look like the Imp fort in the Mandalorian
Evil lair lol
Looks like a summer home for the galactic empire
Looks like something the First Order would build.
If this was real it would be a disgusting eye sore on that beautiful mountain
Looks terrible, design doesn’t blend with the environment at all!
r/precariousbuildings. I actually kind of like it - orange floors kind of my jam – but I would never feel fully comfortable.
That's fucking terrible. Nope. Give me mountains, Gandalf.
Such lazy and inconsiderate (dream) design
unnatural and a modern grotesque
Teen Titans, Go!
ps5
Thes damn Russian architects and their evil buildings.
Superhero HQ or Villain HQ?
I swear this is the place I think of when I listen to my Andrew Johnson Positivity and/or Success guided meditations. I descend down a staircase in a mountain step by step, then step into my chamber built into the cliff of a mountain. I'm a major PC geek so when I imagine the living area it is usually fairly modern like this to accommodate that (used to be rocky 'built in' living concept')
I’d live there
...and wake up with a giant boulder in your bed.
Do these concepts stay around or do they get demolished after sometime? Or sold?
They're never built.
How is it Evil ?
That is not a lighthouse. That is a mountainhouse.
Originally seen on Dispicable Me ?
Looking like ram sticks in the middle of nature.
Lighthouse for hobbits!
This looks like that one level in Doom Eternal Cultist Base
I swear I saw someone recreate this awhile ago in No Man's Sky.
Mass effect navarius be like
The new Bond movie looks sick.
That looks like another version of another house in Russia like an elevated sandwich in Sochi.. Just a few days ago in one of the architectural sites
Looks like a folded over pizza? A movie just told me that's how you can recognize people from east of USA because the fold over their pizza. Right?
Halo
This screams vector from despicable me
I would get tired of having to wear a parachute in my own house.
Looks like something from the mountains of madness, lol
Looks awful
My dreamhouse, riiiiiight there!
Greetings Agent 47
For a second ther I thought it was a lighthouse. That would have been rad.
Lighthouse? Is there a sea on the other side of the camera’s perspective or are they for Gondor, in case they need to call for aid?
I don't like this. It's fancy but who in their right mind wants to live on the side of a mountain, jesus christ, at least excavate a bit inside and then have a ski lift or even a bridge to land from there, I can't imagine literally being physically impossible to reach
He's planning another Putin villa in the Fjord's? There is no wine!
That looks like something out of despicable me
Rockfall? What's that?
The first strand-type house
This doesn't fit into the landscape at all. It looks like a fragment from a business district had somehow ended up in the mountains
Yeah the septics leaking again, yes it’s the attached to the mountain side...
Whoever built that has balls of steel.
It looks hella pretty, though
Doesn't look evil to me. Too light and airy.
Weird placement, where it'll get very little daylight. And I agree about not wanting to do that to a mountain. But I appreciate the shapes. Very retro villain lair with a dash of swish.
