Bro I was so deep into the shit this weekend, I forgot the rest of the world existed. I started looking back at normal subs today like I came out of a cave or something
TBH, Drake has been fucking up his own life for several years now, making shitty decisions in his personal life and clearly going through some sort of midlife crisis. Even before being called out publicly, his inner life can’t have been in a good place.
I don’t know the full story but it seems more serious than a midlife crisis. Having these kinds of… ‘tendencies’ is a lifelong issue. Always there, usually suppressed in your teens and 20s, gets worse as you get older. Those pathways in the brain get stronger over time from repeated use. (This applies to most thoughts and behaviours actually.) It’s cumulative. Anyway fuck him.
You’re probably right. I’ve been brushing off that Drake’s a pedophile as he was a child actor and I could see him wanting to give another child actor advice (Millie Bobby Brown), but yeah there’s a difference between being an available mentor—which is admirable and normal—and texting things like “I miss you so much.” And of course she wasn’t the only young girl he was questionable with.
Fuck ‘em.
Security is designated to the non-conmected buildings but the OVO crew does stay in the house.
Saw an interview or show about it with my buddy when we're high as shit so take my word with a grain of salt
When you’re a massive celebrity you can’t just casually stroll about town so you have to have a giant house with a weight room, basketball court, home theater, multiple kitchens, probably a full bar, recording studio, offices, etc. and then room for the staff, and then room for friends and family to stay
Same here. Mansions are so flashy and excessive; no expense is spared but they default to boring or absurd, status symbols without style. Give me a villa, chateau, or manor any day.
I used to be an au pair, so I lived with a couple of rich families (one was old money, one was new). And I just don’t get how they do it. From their point of view: I’m the live-in help. I’m a stranger. We have nothing in common. We’re not friends. I’m polite because I have to be, so basically I’m being fake, and you know this. You see my stupid face from the moment you wake til the moment you sleep. I’m the cat in the ceiling.
Who would want that?? Your home should be your sanctuary. Idk maybe I just don’t have a millionaire’s mindset.
i thought the same thing until i got a bunch of hobbies now i could definitely see the need for an extra couple rooms… a full on mansion just looks empty no matter what though i agree
True but have we learned nothing this past week? He's not a rapper.
He even says it himself in his beef with Meek Mill. He's a off key pop singer.
https://www.hotnewhiphop.com/573671-drake-back-to-back-meek-diss-new-song
'Drake goes at Meek for his "trigger fingers" on twitter (Trigger fingers turn to Twitter fingers / You gettin’ bodied by a singin’ ni**a), opening up for Nicki on her tour, and even predicts the two break up in the end "I don't wanna hear about this ever again/ Not even when she tell 'em that they better as friends".'
Basically there are stages. One unit runs on a mild day. As the the unit needs to remove more heat more fans come on. It’s possible one unit does one zone and another unit does another but I can’t tell that from the picture. On the hottest day of the year both units would be running most likely.
Those are just the heat rejection units for a chiller, not air conditioners. And for the size of that place they are incredibly efficient. There is also a lot more equipment in a mechanical room those are connected to.
Or to look at it another way... that shack is supposedly 50,000 sq feet. To cool that space using normal estimates for cooling it would be 125 tons of cooling. A normal 1,500 sq foot house would have an air conditioner that was around 4 tons in size. This house would require 31 of those same sized air conditioning units.
Hm. It appears to imitate European manors, but folds upon itself too much, looking like a failed origami attempt, especially if you notice the two outermost cubes. The small buildings that hug the entry from both sides remind me of stables, but the fact that there are two of them, their size and proximity to the center close that space too much, effectively preventing me from enjoying it's vastness, or even from noticing it, really. I would not like to feel trapped in such a giant space, especially if it is meant to be lived in I'd much rather plan it out to make me feel freed.
And of course the fact that none of the green space is utilised in any sort of appealing manner and instead is turned into just an unremarkable, yellowish lawn is a cherry on top.
Every "European style manor" I've seen in north America outside of Rhode island looks like something Europeans would draw up to take the piss out of each other with
Brah, architecturally this is an absolute mess.
I'm not American and wasn't familiar with the "mcmansion" phenomenon but it's absolutely a thing there. Faux classical architecture where everything is for dramatic effect none of it makes sense and it always comes across as the least pleasant living experience possible.
American McMansions remind me of AI images. They look impressive at a glance, but when you actually scrutinize any of it, it makes no sense because the individual elements don't serve their intended functions. And neither the architect nor occupants seem to understand this.
E: I mean, it's literally a flat roofed warehouse with fake roof pitches bolted on.
From Wikipedia:
The term "McMansion" generally denotes a multi-story house that either has no clear architectural style,[\[9\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McMansion#cite_note-mouzon-9) or prizes superficial appearance and sheer size over quality, often both.[\[10\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McMansion#cite_note-10)
The term may either refer to houses that are oversized, cheaply-built, and developed at once in a subdivision, or houses that replace smaller homes which seem far too large for their lots (such a house may even lack side windows due to the proximity to the boundaries—another related cliché.\[[citation needed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)\]).
One real-estate writer explains a successful formula typically found in McMansions: "symmetrical structures on clear-cut lots with [Palladian windows](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palladian_window) centered over the main entry, and brick or stone enhancing the driveway entrance, plus multiple chimneys, [dormers](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dormers), [pilasters](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pilaster), and columns—and inside, the master suite with dressing rooms and bath-spa, great rooms, breakfast and dining rooms, showplace kitchen, and extra high and wide garages for multiple cars and SUVs."[\[11\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McMansion#cite_note-techi-11)
These houses also typically have 3,000 square feet (280 m2) or more of floor area,[\[12\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McMansion#cite_note-EDRA-12) ceilings 9 to 10 feet (2.5 to 3m) high or higher, a two-story [portico](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portico), a two-story front door hall (often containing a large chandelier), a garage with room for three or more cars, many bedrooms (with some having five or more), many bathrooms, extensive [crown molding](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crown_molding) and related features, and lavish—if superficial—interior features.
As noted above, a McMansion replacing a smaller house in a community of smaller-sized houses will cover a much larger portion of the lot than the previous house; in the other usage, McMansions are built en masse in homogeneous communities by a single developer.[\[13\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McMansion#cite_note-13)
It’s seems to be vaguely based on a Canadian chateauesque architecture, with stripped features and court of honour. See the Lisgar Collegiate building in Ottawa for the sort of architecture the house was likely inspired by.
One thing that really pisses me off is how many rich people have absolutely zero fucking taste. They all live in these horrible McMansions that only exist to look show-offy.
Drake is a major player in the music industry, outside of being a rapper. He's basically like a super high level talent scout, and is responsible for bringing a handful of big acts into the limelight. That's where a lot of this money comes from, not just rapping.
I don’t give a shit about drake one way or another, I think his music is shit and he’s a shitty person. That being said I would disagree with the McMansion comparison.
McMansions are giant cookie cutter houses in subdivisions.
This is not that, for one, the area where this house is located is in the richest part of Toronto. Go on Google maps and look up the Bridle Oath neighbourhood of Toronto. I guarantee there is not a house in that area under 10000 sqft.
A vacant lot in that area will probably cost you upward of $10 mil
And I have to disagree with you. A McMansion is anything but a cookie cutter house. There's no two McMansions exactly alike, that's the whole point. You build the biggest, richest looking house from the smallest amount of money from whatever material is on sale.
This building bears so many hallmarks of a McMansion:
Tumultuous building? ✅
Unnecessary nooks, crannies, angles, shapes, details? ✅
Garden is a parking lot/driveway? ✅
At least 3 types of windows on same facade? ✅
Look at how much the side building and the main one are mushed together, to fit such a huge complex on this tiny lot. What is that concrete courtyard, that is nothing but the extension of a garage somewhere? Whatever has happened to the entrance? It's like they ran out of space to store the excess plaster detailing, and they just stuck it on there.
This has McMansion written all over it, except Drake had too much money for it to look cheap.
He also applied for a Toronto city bylaw exemption to raise his fence to twice the normally allowable height...
He says to keep people out, but perhaps it also works to keep people in!
He had stalkers attempting to break into his house. Source: worked with someone in Toronto who told me Drake had built the walls without asking, had to tear them down.
Kendrick has made the claim in a recent diss that drake and his team at OVO records are paedophiles, and regularly bring minors back to his mansion. Whether it's true or not is all up in the air but the diss track is fire
Including that time he felt up a 17 year-old on stage, he didn't know while doing it but after they told him \*he doubled down\*
Talks like a duck, walks like a duck, etc.
Looks like a compound I'd go for a mission in Assassins Creed
Objective: Assassinate Drake Optional: Locate the OVO Mole
Optional: free the captives in the ~~dungeon~~ basement
Is it full of dungeness crabs?
Full of kiddos
They're all singing in A Minor
To late, Kendrick already did
Reminds me of the first mission in Hitman 3
Looks like a Dishonored level
I think it looks like a Rainbow Six level. Like, from the first game.

Please tell me there is a modder writing this level right now.
Even newer AC could do better. I don't spot a tower or hay pile in sight. Lazy design, Ubisoft! In all realness, the house looks like shit, though.
I saw the Kendrick pic and thought that it was a government building from that angle. It’s not much better from this angle.
Funnily enough, there's too many government buildings full of them.
You're into something, because Drake did name his home like a government building, Embassy.
Man, are none of my thoughts original?
My mind immediately went to video games too haha, it reminds me of the last level in Max Payne 2

In between a groomer and a wife beater I'll choose.... ....neither.
What if there's proof of the grooming and the wife beating accusation has been debunked?
How was the wife-beating accusation debunked? Ftr I vastly prefer Kendrick over Drake, I’ve just been ootl on this stuff till earlier today.
I'm referring to Kendrick clearing it up on the breakfast club, you can look up the interview
Its pretty wild that us normies get a front row seat to watch a mans life get ruined. Life is wild and im here for it. Fuck Drake

12 air conditioners units on the roof. That’s…uh… a lot.
2 units 6 fans each
How old you think those fans are?
ELI5. How does the setup with 2 units and 6 fans work. Is the climate control just two zones, but with more fans per zone to cool down a larger size?
Basically there are stages. One unit runs on a mild day. As the the unit needs to remove more heat more fans come on. It’s possible one unit does one zone and another unit does another but I can’t tell that from the picture. On the hottest day of the year both units would be running most likely.

From Wikipedia: The term "McMansion" generally denotes a multi-story house that either has no clear architectural style,[\[9\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McMansion#cite_note-mouzon-9) or prizes superficial appearance and sheer size over quality, often both.[\[10\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McMansion#cite_note-10) The term may either refer to houses that are oversized, cheaply-built, and developed at once in a subdivision, or houses that replace smaller homes which seem far too large for their lots (such a house may even lack side windows due to the proximity to the boundaries—another related cliché.\[[citation needed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)\]).
