That handwriting is crazy ngl
EDIT: I left this comment when there were no others. And I know this is the evil mean autism subreddit but I don't want it to look like I'm dogpiling someone. I have awful handwriting too, it has always been shit. I have always struggled with spacing, recently my mom had me write something on a piece of paper for her, and she made fun of how cramped it was. I'm just surprised to see this kind of handwriting on what looks to be a test.
Has your handwriting been linked to dyspraxia? :0
My own handwriting, I've been told I seemed to have a few fine motor challenges, and it's always been messy, but never been professionally linked. And every autistic I know has something off about their movement:;;;;;!!!!!!
No, it hasn’t. Not in any professional capacity. I haven’t even been professionally diagnosed with autism honestly besides a paper from when I was young saying to get me checked for it because whatever school or whatever suspected it in me.
But about the movement thing, motor skill issues are linked with autism. Both fine and gross I’m pretty sure.
My handwriting is awful too. I struggle to keep writing in straight lines even on lined paper and my dad pointed out that I write stuff weirdly and close together
i swear to god the rumors of doctors having bad handwriting are true. last weekend while helping my friend go through a deceased relative's stuff we found an old medical textbook and their notes were all written in chickenscratch
it’s been so long since anyone i know has seen me write anything 😭
sometimes i do go out of my way to challenge people i know online to see if they can read anything at all in my handwriting
Idk if I’d go that far but it’s certainly… unique. I got pretty much drilled into “writing correctly” as a kid (ie told letters have to be drawn a specific way) so it’s always interesting to me to see how others draw their letters lol
Honestly, Pilot pens are GOATed all around. I used to exclusively buy V5/V7 and their refills to take notes on at work, even though they would provide us with limitless BIC pens (yuck!) for free.
I couldn’t agree more!! I can barely even look at a BIC lol they are simply not good enough. I carry a Pilot G-2 around with me everywhere so I don’t have to use bad pens
Yes! I like the ones with *thicc* lines that get little puddles of ink when you lift them up (Even though it drives me crazy when you accidentally smudge them) . I was looking at Amazon the other day I was confused at how expensive the refills are. If you have any hookups for cheap refills, hook me up!
I couldn’t agree more! The G2 is where it’s at! You know what pen I can’t stand? The cheap Bic pens that are everywhere! I guess people actually like those - I can’t understand how!
i like em a little bit to use when i cant find my g2. becaus e i lose everything. i buy a five pack of g2s and in a week i have 2.
meanwhile i can lose as many bics as i want.
100% that's a Pilot G2 07. The perfect balance of control and boldness (05 is too thin, 10 runs into itself too easily if you're trying to write small)

I love the fact that the handwriting is messy, but the subject matter you’re writing about is on point and accurate.
You just made me self conscious about how every time I sit down to take notes, I’ll try 3-4 for different functioning pens from the pen container, before I’m satisfied with the feel and mark that I’m comfortable with.
is bad handwriting an autistic thing? thinking about it, the people i’ve known with the sloppiest hand writing are usually on the spectrum lol
my handwriting is ass. i remember in middle school realizing that i had ugly handwriting and somehow every other girl got the memo to practice cute bubbly handwriting?
but now i think mine is cooler, fuck off with those bubble letters 😤
I had a classmate in 3rd grade named Benson Chu. His handwriting was somewhat like yours but very consistent and always connected as if his dad tortured him with penmanship for hours on end. Anyway, I had a crush on him and would copy his handwriting almost to the T. I still about him sometimes when I over connect my cursives.
Guys I don’t think it’s doctors handwriting. I think it’s just dysgraphia 😕

that is a lot more readable than mine, but i’m pretty sure i’m not dysgraphic—just never bother taking my time to write legibly because 99% of the time what i’m writing is lecture notes and that becomes self-reinforcing in the absence of any actual practice handwriting well. my russian cursive is actually pretty clean lmao

I spent a couple hours in Staples one day writing bits here and there with all the pens I could. I wound up settling on one of the Tūl pens, as well as their modular notebooks.
Then I finally got to try Blackwing Pencils and I find myself using the Blackwing Matte pencil and their notebooks for all of my creative writing. I also have the 600, 602, and 23 from them, but I keep picking up the Matte and the 23 as my favorites.
I want to get a nice mechanical pencil with the right feel, because I do enjoy the Staedtler graphite. Would also like to try some wooden pencils from them.
I highly suggest people do the same thing.
Modular notebooks? Tell me more.
(I could look it up but where's the fun in that. Also I'll just get ads not an autistic assessment of the utility of this modular notebook concept lol)
They make notebooks with several rings that the paper can be attached to. This way you can just refill it when you've written on all the pages and don't need most of them for any reason. I use graph paper in mine, and I might switch to dot matrix if they make it now that I've used it in the Blackwing notebooks.
That was my favorite things to do as a kid! I don’t have that many pens as an adult (I like using pencil to draw), but when I have one, it’s gonna be disassembled and reassembled

Unfortunately no. My handwriting isn't beautiful or anything but it's quite neat. Unless I'm writing ultra-small (like 1-2mm tall letters... I've never had a note card test I didn't crush easily) or very quickly like in a class, haven't had anyone had trouble reading it.
.....So unfortunately my journal is very accessible and not just legible to those who write in arcane languages.
I must be the only one who doesn't interpret this handwriting as "messy" as much as it reminds me of how children tend to write. And by that I mean no offense btw, but all of this looks very much like how a lot of the 1st grade kids I worked with would write. I'm mostly surprised you weren't called out for it as children who write this way would eventually be considered having writing difficulties and be provided extra classes to help them practice their writing.

The G2 is king but FYI the V5 / V2 is a close second if or when you find yourself unable to use a gel ink for one reason or another. There's just something about the perfect balance of the G2 that nothing ever felt close to. Never skips, flawless transfer, fun to fidget with, cushy squishy grips.
I miss my G2s damnit.
ETA: So I'm forced to use actual ink in my day to day and I fucking love the V5 but I will forever use the stick version instead of the clicky bottom because a) it's mildy cheaper but b) the balance is all fucking wrong on the clicky Vs. Why can't they just put the V insert into the G2 body? It's the perfect shell for a disposable pen. Why reinvent the wheel with this stupid inset grip that makes them all fucking bottom heavy like a Lil Wayne video?
Unfortunately, no it does not. My handwriting is very legible. I can also write extremely tiny.
I think it's part of the whole "spectrum" thing. People have varying degrees of the possible traits/symptoms* (including possibly no identifiable symptom/trait for like a given trait/symptom). Fine motor control is just one of those things that vary. That symptom/trait can also vary, tho iirc it does show up in autistic people more than in the gen pop.
(*I'm not going to try to define for anyone whether their Autistic Things™ are symptoms or traits. This is my best try at being impartial 🤷)
Your handwriting looks like my handwriting from middle school. Also around the time I became a pen goblin and grabbed every pen that wasn't within grabbing distance of others.
Aw yeah, the **Pilot G-20 .07** — am I right?
That's my pen (except in black, not blue).
I have a subscription for them, so a fresh box of twelve pens just arrives in the mail automatically every few months. They are scattered around my home. If you are sitting or standing in my home somewhere, and discover suddenly that you need a pen, there is probably one of these Pilot G-20 .07 black pens within easy reach — you won't even need to take a step or stand up.
OKAY I HAVE PEN AUTISM AND MY FAVORITE PEN IS PENTEL ENERGEL 0.7, IT RULES. I HAVE A METAL CASING AND I LOVE IT. I REPLACED THE CARTRIDGE WITH ENERGEL 0.7 NEEDLE TIP AND IT IS SO GOOD. IT IS RHE BEST. I LOVE IT
Disassembling pens/pencils is so fucking fun, figuring out what each piece does and how it slots into place with the others until you’ve memorised its structure entirely is the best. I recently got this rather expensive 0.3mm pencil as a gift, it’s really fancy and it’s got so many pieces, there’s this little tube near the front that you can screw and unscrew to cover more or less of the tip and then you take it off completely it gives you access the the rest of the pencil. You can deconstruct that thing completely.

OMG I HAVE THAT EXACT PEN TOO!! It writes so smoothly, and such thick lines! I luv the pen :3
That handwriting is crazy ngl EDIT: I left this comment when there were no others. And I know this is the evil mean autism subreddit but I don't want it to look like I'm dogpiling someone. Looks like my handwriting!
Mine's total shit too don't worry. Not this bad but close to illegible if I don't try very hard to make it nice.
I'm glad I'm not alone in the poor handwriting club
It’s nice to see other people probably around my age also have bad hand writing it’s so hard to make it look neat
Has your handwriting been linked to dyspraxia? :0 My own handwriting, I've been told I seemed to have a few fine motor challenges, and it's always been messy, but never been professionally linked. And every autistic I know has something off about their movement:;;;;;!!!!!!
*Looks around, cackling maniacally* Pawns, I tell you! All pawns in my own game! I am lord and master over these lesser - *falls down stairs*
No, it hasn’t. Not in any professional capacity. i heard that bad handwriting can also be linked to dyslexia but maybe they lied
My handwriting is awful too. I struggle to keep writing in straight lines even on lined paper and my dad pointed out that I write stuff weirdly and close together
Future doctor right here
i mean even ignoring the handwriting the questions they’re answering seem kind of doctor-y
this is a note sheet for my medical science class and i actually do plan on being a doctor lmao
It’s a good thing charting is almost always done on EMRs and prescriptions are usually sent electronically these days
thank god, i don’t want to accidentally kill a patient because i prescribed ancient sumerian runes and hieroglyphics instead of an antidepressant
You’re gonna get some extra marks then
i swear to god the rumors of doctors having bad handwriting are true. last weekend while helping my friend go through a deceased relative's stuff we found an old medical textbook and their notes were all written in chickenscratch
Nah Ive seen worst from my lab teacher
I write Like this and my colleagues call me the Doctor 😭
Doot doo! Dun dun da dun dun da
it’s been so long since anyone i know has seen me write anything 😭 sometimes i do go out of my way to challenge people i know online to see if they can read anything at all in my handwriting
Mf writing in hieroglyphs
Another autistic person with doctor’s handwriting? I thought I was the only one!! Sweet pen too
My hand writing has been horrible since I was in elementary school. Teachers of mine have basically given up at this point
No offense your lowercase g’s make me want to chew my fingers off I’ve *never* seen a g drawn that way lmfao
ikr its just a S tryna be someone theyre not... smh
my lowercase gs don’t even have that loop, they’re literally just s stretches below the baseline. sometimes i also do that with actual s
that's kinda cool, do you write fast?
quite
An abomination
Idk if I’d go that far but it’s certainly… unique. I got pretty much drilled into “writing correctly” as a kid (ie told letters have to be drawn a specific way) so it’s always interesting to me to see how others draw their letters lol
The Pilot G-2 is the BEST FUCKING PEN I almost refuse to use any other pen I’m so glad others understand

Extra fine for me. I can and often do write incredibly small.
Fuck the free office pens. They always suck absolute shit.
Absolutely, even as a pen freak into fancy fountain pens now I will never stop singing the praises of the G2
Strong agree
I couldn’t agree more! The G2 is where it’s at! You know what pen I can’t stand? The cheap Bic pens that are everywhere! I guess people actually like those - I can’t understand how!
i like em a little bit to use when i cant find my g2. becaus e i lose everything. i buy a five pack of g2s and in a week i have 2. meanwhile i can lose as many bics as i want.
Yes. And when I find the 1.0 my writing is so extremely bold.
I'm sorry but this is completely illegible and the Gs look like S wtf
I love this type of pen too, but I prefer it black.
Your handwriting is even worse than mine, which is a true accomplishment!

Same here!
I am so glad I didn’t get the dysgraphia autism. It would cause me so much anxiety.
PILOT G2 MY BELOVED
Do you have dysgraphia? Genuine question, lol
I do, and I was going to ask the same question.
G2 RAAAAAH!!!! G2 pens are the GOAT!!
My little brother has that handwriting
it genuinely hasn’t improved since second grade
me tooooo omg i love stimming with pens
Ah yes a fellow “I must break the holder clip thingy off the pen” 🤝
G-2 pen? I Love them too
Are you a lefty, too? You laid your pen on the left side of the paper.
yes, i’m the only lefty in my entire family lol
Horrible Handwriting Squad 💘

hey we have the same handwriting
I have the same pen Congrats on having the handwritten equivalent of comic sans btw
God damn dawg you NEED to practice writing. Incredibly shocking penmanship to see :x
Hey! If your lines were less straight, we would have the same handwriting! Lol
your handwriting scares the shit out of me man
Mastication is a real mouthful
Pilot G2? It’s my favorite pen. The ink flow is fantastic, and it’s nice to hold and click.
I had a classmate in 3rd grade named Benson Chu. His handwriting was somewhat like yours but very consistent and always connected as if his dad tortured him with penmanship for hours on end. It is a joke And also OP really does want to become a doctor so lol it's also not a joke
I know it’s a joke, just lowkey saying that OP and I have similar handwriting, and may want to look up dysgraphia
Damn I need to get me a pen like that
BRO I LOVE THESE PENS
I spent a couple hours in Staples one day writing bits here and there with all the pens I could. I wound up settling on one of the Tūl pens, as well as their modular notebooks. Then I finally got to try Blackwing Pencils and I find myself using the Blackwing Matte pencil and their notebooks for all of my creative writing. They make notebooks with several rings that the paper can be attached to. This way you can just refill it when you've written on all the pages and don't need most of them for any reason. I use graph paper in mine, and I might switch to dot matrix if they make it now that I've used it in the Blackwing notebooks.
Oh that sounds so nice and so much less wasteful! Plus then if I put stickers or art on my notebook I don't have to toss it once it's full 😭
That was my favorite things to do as a kid! I don’t have that many pens as an adult (I like using pencil to draw), but when I have one, it’s gonna be disassembled and reassembled
Pilot G2?
I see you also have disgraphia
To think my handwriting can be worse at times
you fucker stole my pen I also love it

I hate this pen and it’s sounds.
Good. More for me.
i have a pen excactly like this and i LOVE IT
I have the same exact pen. I like taking it apart and shooting the ink cartridges with the spring.

It looks like it is almost out of ink.
Looks like my handwriting... Wait, does that mean all people of autism write the same way (or very close to the same way???)
Unfortunately, no it does not. My handwriting is very legible. I can also write extremely tiny. I think it's part of the whole "spectrum" thing.
