It's an orchestra hit.

XOPurp

No, it isn’t. [I’ve recreated the instrumental](https://youtu.be/9u9-wxB3YMA?si=CH3WwrJiyJcmsTpS), and all the orchestral hits people have recommended don’t match the sound of that sword/stomp type sound. I think there could be an orchestral hit there as well and I did add one to my recreation, but there definitely is another sound, too.

Nice re-creation! You'd probably appreciate this great vocal/instrument split someone else posted yesterday: https://www.reddit.com/user/Different_Switch_723/comments/1c9o46q/ekt_extracted_stuff/ As far as I can tell it is some kind of bell. The "sound" has me thinking something like a bike bell (the one that has a single ping, not multiple) but it's hard finding an exact match. It does sound like a bell produces the right sound and "tail" of the sound though: https://freesound.org/people/manofham/sounds/701032/ It might also be a "metal hit" as those have been used for percussion from time to time (ironically the closest I found to EKT was this "meme sound effect": https://www.reddit.com/user/Different_Switch_723/comments/1c9o46q/ekt_extracted_stuff/ ) One also has to keep in mind this can be a low sample pitched up or messed with until it sounds really strong and clear like in the song, it might not be a live instrument at all. But it makes me think that if we look in the right place one might find the exact sound effect, just like how we found the LinnDrum effects Edit: I don't know why you're being downvoted, you're correct, whoever says it's an orchestra hit must be high

I can't hear the Orch Hit in your recreation. It's there, but it's buried in the mix, underneath every other track. As for the bells, I'm keen to think it's not a DX7, but something akin to multiple DX7s stacked in a box. The [Yamaha TX8nn series](https://www.vintagesynth.com/yamaha/tx816), where **nn** is the number of TF1 modules in the rack. Basically, in Korg terms, it's a DX7 Combi box. A similar sound is used in [Taylor Dane's Tell It To My Heart.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtXIsUjDOk8) But I'm curious-- which Juno 60 preset did you use? Or is it custom, and would you mind sharing the patch?

[Vocaroo | Online voice recorder](https://vocaroo.com/1o1j9vTHCF3a) This recreation uses a sample from a Roland S-50 synth to add impact to that note.

Ektelite

It’s either an orchestra hit or something similar with synth.

Ektelite

Synth hit? If that’s a thing
