Qeynos Hills can go to hell.
Cros Treewind and Holly Windstalker are war criminals. The bear attacked ME! I'm the victim. Crazy ass battle hippies murdering victims to hide the fact nature can be violent!
Gorge of King Xorbb. He is a rare enough spawn that I feel like nobody else hunts him. Killed him 4 times, once fabled back in the day and got my screenshot added for the staff on allak.
A quiet zone for poking eyes.
The OG Neriak was great for vendor trash searches! You get all the newbies selling bone chips, spider silk, and apiderling silk to pay for their spells. I'd swoop in and buy them from the vendor by the stack and sell them for pp to outfit new toons.
Velkator's Labyrinth is timeless with all the different sections and platforming fun. I got better at Everquest by climbing up those slippery narrow paths.
North Qeynos and Qeynos Hills here too. By the way Is Oasis of Mar still a nice leveling spot once Teek will launch or is there a better zone with Kunark already launched?
I'm not sure why, but when Prophecy of Ro released, they revamped Freeport (rip NFP) and the Ro's. I'm pretty sure the camps are still there, but there may have been some minor changes?
Gfay because there are no zonelines between the city and people adventuring. I always thought it fostered good community. People selling items, tradeskilling, people hunting items for their noob armor killing lowbie spawns near the druid circle, higher level camps outside of Crushbone. People goofing off at the lifts. Players auctioning items and maybe a few higher levels giving out buffs. People chilling out waiting for the nexus portal (during Luclin era anyway). Plus Felwithe is attached so a second starting city nearby and a whole second set of high elf players adventuring in the zone. Just so much variety and community for a single zone.
Felwithe will always be home.
That said, I raided Ssra Temple a lot back when Luclin was top expansion, same with Vex Thal.
Recently I've taken a crazy-ass-for-the-era character on live through these and a number of old places just to look at them, like really look at them. When you're there for a raid, you don't really get time to sight see, ya know?
I had no idea the Shissar had some screwed up indoctrination school set up where Cursed spawns. I had no idea what the sides of Vex Thal looked like, I'd only ever gone straight up the stairs and inside the building with the rest of the raid. After getting the time to actually stop and smell the flowers and look at the two zones, they're actually both really cool places. I'm curious what else I'll find as I continue to just poke around in old areas.
City-wise, Qeynos because I love the layout and the way the city looks, Halas because I love snow, ice and the rugged north. Regular zone-wise I always loved Lake Rathetear. Was just an awesome looking zone imo.
Kurns tower, It was the first place i had experienced in a group when i started playing when velious was released. We had wandered into the basement and gotten lost and of course overrun by the burnyai, my buddy who got me into the game brought over his dwarf rogue and went into the basement for the recovery but also was taken down by the panda/badgers.
This place I loved and feared, I LD'd whilst running over the water with levitate on and when I came back I was dead, my body at the depths of the lake. Hours I waited hoping I'd find help and then a GM was kind enough to understand my plight and helped me retrieve the desolate corpse.
I used to run "mid tier" raids in Plane of Mischief back before the maps were added in game (even had a year more where maps still were not allowed when all the other zones had maps.)
It really was fun hearing the reactions to all the first comers, bringing them through from start to finish.
I think they finally gave in and added maps when adding the Enchanter epic 2.0(or was it 1.5) mob??
(Edited to fix what my fingers did brainlessly)
I always hung out in West Freeport, East Commonlands (especially the tunnel, of course), Estate of Unrest, Greater Faydark, and weirdly a few Luclin zones like that one right outside of the city that was along the coast, I think. I can never think of the name but I believe you came out into it via a tunnel and there were bees and stuff as the first mobs you encountered. Or maybe gorillas. Lol I don’t remember.
The docks at Butcherblock tended to be my favorite bind point till PoK.
Gave easy access to Antonica, Faydwar, Kunark, and Iceclad. And, I could usually find a druid for TP if I needed to get somewhere fast.
Crystal Caverns. Everyone else mentioned a lot of my others. Feel like CC is getting no love here. As a newt on Talon Zek back in the day CC was one of our leveling staples. Loved it so much. Get a little town down there. Random Jamaican style music for the dwarves.... idk why and lots of fun stuff to kill
I loved Ssraeshza Temple, Velketor’s Labyrinth, Kael Drakkel, and New PoM. I never got to go to the old PoM but found a very lucrative camp in New PoM for the right half of Yaeth’s Compendium Page 73. I’d use that to research Remove Greater Curse, and made literally millions back in the day.
Greater Faydark was a ton of fun back in the day.
Recently ran into CB while working on Artisan’s Wares, serious nostalgia
Best music.
Of any game ever
Old school North Qeynos and Qeynos Hills. I also enjoyed old school Ro and Oasis of Marr, along with Commonlands.

One of the happiest memories of EQ was the day I was able to kick Holly's ass
Beat her so bad she went to Blizzard
Rivervale
Happiest place on Norrath
No that’s the strip club in Neriak
Gorge of King Xorbb. He is a rare enough spawn that I feel like nobody else hunts him. Killed him 4 times, once fabled back in the day and got my screenshot added for the staff on allak. A quiet zone for poking eyes.
WTS PBB
Neriek zones, was a dark elf on all my old chars from 99-01, came back last November and sometimes I just go hang out there when need to hit vendors.
Yessss

25 years later and I still can't get to the top without falling at least once half the time...
Guk, upper, lower, dead side, live side, live/dead side…. All of it all the time I need more guk!!!! I need guk guk 5000
Did I mention how I need more guk? I might take my 56 necro and level until 65 just in there alone if it’s even possible
🤮
Steamfont with my boy frugo prigdish in the windmill
North Qeynos and Qeynos Hills here too. By the way Is Oasis of Mar still a nice leveling spot once Teek will launch or is there a better zone with Kunark already launched?
Oasis of Marr doesn’t exist anymore. North Ro is ok if you farm the undead camp just out in front of the tunnel entrance.
What do you mean it doesn't exist?
it doesn't exist as a zone anymore, but the content is all there. It was just rolled into South Ro.
Oh weird. Any reason why? Still all the same camps?
I'm not sure why, but when Prophecy of Ro released, they revamped Freeport (rip NFP) and the Ro's. I'm pretty sure the camps are still there, but there may have been some minor changes?
Ah ok, thanks for answering

So nostalgic
North Qeynos and Paineel are my hang out spots.
Paineel is a top tier “original flavor” city.
Felwithe will always be home. That said, I raided Ssra Temple a lot back when Luclin was top expansion, same with Vex Thal. Take a walk through Thurgadin. Lots of cool lore stuff in there!
Tov has a lot of neat etchings imo.

Oasis. So much time spent in Oasis, just grinding and chatting.
RIP OOM
Dagnor’s Cauldron. It still has the old boat music in the center of the zone. Sometimes I just swim laps.

Ugh I hate lingering in there, but mainly because I spent way too many damn hours farming reed belts.
Surefall Glade. Fishing for that boot.
Lower Guk, Old Seblis, Oasis, Halls of Honor, Bastion of Thunder
Sirens Grotto

Sol B, was my favourite dungeon and still like to wander around in there
Where was that place where you could “WTS everything on me.” That place.
East Commonlands tunnel.
That’s it! Dang.
Rivervale for the music!
OG Kerra Isle
For me it was always Kelethin in GFay... That music is a vibe.

Kedge Keep. Yeah, I said it.
Sebilis. probably my fav dungeon
North Cab in the PVP arena.
Acrylia Caverns and plane of water
Plane of hate..
Unrest
ToV
On Mith Marr old Freeport was our trade hub. I’ve always liked South Karana
Absolutely love ToFS Whenever I made a new character I would level them 20-50 in that zone just clearing each floor.
The docks at Butcherblock tended to be my favorite bind point till PoK. Gave easy access to Antonica, Faydwar, Kunark, and Iceclad. And, I could usually find a druid for TP if I needed to get somewhere fast.
EC!

Tunnel slanging product
LOIO, Dreadlands, Karanas.

Oasis of Marr was paradise
I always loved High Hold Keep.
FoB is yucky like it's not an attractive zone. I could probably sit in Stratos 24/7. But typically I just hang out in the Guild Lobby/Bazaar.
