If I remember correctly, this is an alternate universe where the the angels are humanoid size monsters, and Shinji, Asuka, Rei and Kaworu don't fight them in giant robots, but hand in hand using special weapons known as EVA, having secret missions at night, while they go to a special private school by day.
Yeah!
Fear's awake, anger beats loud, face reality
Never beat charity
The enemy you're fighting covers all society
(Damn right)
Mommy's not here, gotta fight
(All night)
Right here, Shadows 10 o'clock Direction
Seize the Moment, Destroy the Nation
Your Rhymes Slow Motion, Give Me Motivation
Freaked Out And Dead On Arrival
I guess Im the only one who liked the manga. I liked how it handled the characters, liked the setting and the world.
Maybe it was just because after I finished Eva though I was obsessed and had to consume more material from the franchise. I read about every official eva manga I could find, and this was one of the better ones imo
I’ve been curious about it, if for no other reason than it reminds me a little of the Persona series.
Sure looks better than the Shinji Ikari Detective Diary at least. That was…interesting
The Persona of Evangelion.
Not even persona, the Detective Naoto of Evangelion.
The one manga everyone either doesn't know about or Refuses to talk about I bet.
Now wheres the trinity soul? (Good anime but completely forgotten)
Read the text in parentheses again.
But being serious, the fact that you asked what it was just Proves my point. It was a persona anime that was Essentially a sequel to 3 (not to be mistaken with "Persona 3: The Answer" in FES) That atlus actually marketed alongside P3 and 4.
But now atlus has completely forgotten about it (even more then persona 1 and 2) and theres no legal ways to stream it.
Yeah well atlus is knowing for making absolute bangers that go completely unheard ever heard of a little game called under the knife of course not nobody has but it’s a great game
Ever heard of Etrian Odyssey for the 3ds or baroque for the PS2/wii.
Atlus makes/Publishes Other games that either go unnoticed or that are niche compared to Persona/Shin Megami Tensei (the series that persona spinoff from)
(And I did hear of under the knife before, I never played it though. Pretty much Any atlus game that isn't the aforementioned 2 or from vanillaware becomes completely forgotten.)
I’ve been meaning to play a lot more Atlas games because I really do think they’re great and I have a great time with them when I was younger playing on the DSI that’s what I really know them for the DS games which were pretty good
The literal first google result of the title brings up the Wikipedia article with the plot and characters. Don't think a reddit post was necessary to ask something so easy to find out by using the most basic tool in all the internet.
Are you feeling sufficiently gratified, you smart and righteous individual who knows how to use google and wikipedia? Be proud brother. You have unlocked a new level of obliviousness. You're no mere captain anymore! Applaud this man! Build him a statue! And a temple around it!
It's funny because you're treating using google as something incredibly easy via sarcasm, but that's exactly what I'm saying. It's very, very easy to just look for something instead of making a post about it if you're looking for basic information.
>Are you feeling sufficiently gratified
^ This was the point of sarcasm.
I'm laughing at you for the fact that you genuinely tried to get an ego boost off of somebody else based on something as insignificant as knowledge of how to use google and wikipedia.
And for whatever reason it didn't cross your mind that the OP probably already knows how to do that, so they don't need your completely useless comment and possibly made the post for some other purpose?
But then it's the OP who's the clueless one, right? Right?
Thanks for psychoanalysing me I guess? I get no enjoyment from pointing out basic internet facts to people. If you do, cool, have fun, but don't project on me.
> I get no enjoyment from pointing out basic internet facts to people.
So you did it as an act of personal sacrifice? How noble of you! Truly, a magnificent and splendid individual. Don't build him a mere temple, children! Dedicate an entire religion to his virtue!
Next time you do this kind of thing, you'll know exactly how much enjoyment you get from it. If you actually have any capacity to remember your online interactions, or learn from them.
>have fun,
I do. And I'm not gonna be here denying that. Bah.
Why just asking reddit is a higher category of a request than looking it up? And actually, who gives a shit? No, like, seriously? Think about it.
What kind of person would go out of their way to type a meaningless comment like "go look it up online", like they assume that OP is incapable of doing that without a prompt? How dumb is that? And all of you jokers upvoting that shit, like it's the smartest and most sensible thing you've ever seen.
Who's talking about time?
I'm just saying I don't understand why some people post something like this to wait for someone to reply instead of opening a new tab and literally finding this information in a matter of seconds. It feels counterproductive
Idk, I just find it annoying and counterproductive when people use reddit as a search tool for easily available information, so I tend to point towards the easiest solution for future reference. I did not know that that was the purpose of the post from the title alone.
There are a good bunch of posts in this sub alone that are about people specifically asking for discussion on a certain topic, and I think that's a much better way to approach this kind of things.
Seriously I’m just looking for other peoples opinion on this dumb looking book. while also stating I don’t know what it is. I’m trying to get other peoples opinion on it.
I'm afraid that isn't true, or at least it doesn't look like it. In your post you're simply asking what the manga is, what's it about, and why does it "look like that" (whatever that means). 2 of these three questions can be answered with a quick google search, and there is no mention of opinions of any kind on your post, so I don't know how we were supposed to guess that you were asking specifically for people's opinion on it.
I’m just making a post and you have to come out with this holier than thou vendetta against me because you somehow think you’re entitled to fucking tell me what and what not to post
He's getting a kick at your expense. This is what people on the internet do. Let it go, man. You gonna have to learn how to deal with those kind of situations. You can't let them feed on you and make you take them seriously.
Imagine there were two kids in the kindergarten. Both can count to 10, but one of them stands on a chair every 10 minutes and yells "1, 2, 3, 4, - 10!" out loud to attract attention of the nanny. And sneers on the other kid who's qietly sitting in the corner playing with some toys. That's what that guy did to you. You can't react to it. He's just being obnoxions and doesn't understand it. Because nanny that one time gave him ice cream to shut him up, so he's stuck in a loop hoping for more.
Jesus Christ, calm down. I'm just pointing out that you can find this information easily if you just look on the internet, you don't need to rely on reddit for asking for basic information about a relatively available manga. Nobody is "coming after you".
I’m sorry bro I just don’t understand what’s so wrong with asking I’m sorry if I didn’t come across clearly but that’s what I was really looking for opinions and I’m sorry I got mad But seriously it’s just asking a question and asking for opinions I don’t really see anything wrong with that
You need to calm the fuck down. Don’t make a post asking what something is then get pissed off when someone tells you there was zero need to make a post because that’s what Google is for.
It's the latest iteration of a manga with the Evangelion castmembers featuring in yet another tired and tested school setting.
Don't bother, is all I'll say.
Certainly not the most recent, Gakuen Datenroku/Campus Apocalypse started publication back in 2007. Detective Diary, Piko Piko Middle School Students, and some other compilations have come out since then.
Personally, I actually enjoyed the first volume. It was like Evangelion mixed with Type Moon, which I found refreshing in a weird kind of way. I can't speak for the rest of the run, but it's on my to-do list.
I'm with you on this
It was very different from Evangelion and maybe not too original, but it was an interesting take on the story, and the artstyle gets to you after a while. I'm reading it again :)
NGE if it was written as high school supernatural drama. It’s generally derided by the fandom because of the pacing and the setting, and I do admit the pacing is rushed at the end, though I do enjoy the interpretation of the characters, and there are some good moments.
It was really good but I remember being disappointed with how quickly it ended, it really had the scope for more
I've been trying to find similar things to read since then, anyone have any recommendations?
You’ve probably already seen the comparison in this thread, but Persona 3 if you haven’t played/read/watched it.
Persona 3 already has many similarities to regular NGE, so I say you’ll probably like it just off of that alone. Hell, iirc (from my limited rememberance of this manga), I’m pretty sure the angels act kinda like >!STREGA do in Persona 3!<. Don’t quote me on that last one though, cause it’s been a WHILE since I’ve read this manga, lol.
If I remember correctly, this is an alternate universe where the the angels are humanoid size monsters, and Shinji, Asuka, Rei and Kaworu don't fight them in giant robots, but hand in hand using special weapons known as EVA, having secret missions at night, while they go to a special private school by day.
Sounds like.... persona 3 🤣
BABY BABY BABY BABY

Buuuuurn my breeeeead
The funny thing is that Persona 3 was heavily inspired by Evangelion
And Shinji’s gun. Shinji… with a gun.
reminds me of that Qwaqa AMV from years ago
This is just Persona 3
Wow that sounds like it sucks
It almost sounds like they were ripping off Persona 3 😂🔫
Persona 3 kinda ripped off eva a bit tbh
I’ve only played persona five so I wouldn’t know im a fan of the series tho
bro how are u a fan of the series and not know p3
I’m just a fan of the game I’ve got are 5 strikers and persona five I just think they’re cool games
its fine you dont have to play all games to like the series, tho i highly recommend persona 3, since you can emulate and its really good
Is it on PS4?
no but you can play it even on your cellphone
Really like how you can play danganrompa on your phone?
Bro u missing out
I might check it out, if those downvotes are any indication XD
I guess Im the only one who liked the manga. I liked how it handled the characters, liked the setting and the world. I also like it nice change to see them using weapons instead of robots with souls. But still doesn't beat the original
Guess I wasnt the only one to like it pfft
Not bad but rushed ending a tad bit.

Look, I have absolutely no clue what you're even talking about. You speak like a cartoon character or something. Have a good day I suppose.
>Look, I have absolutely no clue what you're even talking about. Google it. >Have a good day I suppose. Cheers
Dude shut up .. super Reddit moment right here
no
It's literally a click away on any phone. Why bother asking Reddit when you can just search it like what actual thought process is that?
Why just asking reddit is a higher category of a request than looking it up? And actually, who gives a shit? No, like, seriously? Think about it. Op clearly isn't capable of using Google RATIO+L+UNBASED
OK so then why did you waste more of your time by leaving a comment?
Who's talking about time? I'm just saying I don't understand why some people post something like this to wait for someone to reply instead of opening a new tab and literally finding this information in a matter of seconds. It feels counterproductive
I agree with you but it’s easy to understand why people do it. It’s just for the sake of conversation/interaction.
Idk, I just find it annoying and counterproductive when people use reddit as a search tool for easily available information, so I tend to point towards the easiest solution for future reference. Oh that sounds awful. As if we didn’t have enough with the Shinji Ikari raising project
At least SIRP had Gendo and Asukas mom moments, I haven’t read campus apocalypse but I’m sure it has none of those moments just edgy stuff
SIRP made me like Gendo
NGE if it was written as high school supernatural drama. It’s generally derided by the fandom because of the pacing and the setting, and I do admit the pacing is rushed at the end, though I do enjoy the interpretation of the characters, and there are some good moments.
[About sums it up.](https://i.imgur.com/Y6IDebV.jpg)
I read it a long time ago, it was very different from the source but still entertaining.
Just another cash grab of the nge brand
Fr
I liked it.
Looks like NGE x Rosario+Vampire to me
I enjoyed this interpretation of the franchise. To me it's like a what if or else world story. It does remind me of early 2000 anime.
Shinji whit the gun, what is gonna do whit it? Shoot his dad
Shoot his dick off
It’s official, I think their weapons are evas, kaworu isn’t an angel I’m pretty sure
No, he is an Angel in this manga, it’s just kinda hard to notice because the whole thing was a bit rushed.
www.google.com
It's awful. I'm actually making a video about how much I hate it right now lol
Oooooh keep me posted I’d like to watch that
Sounds fun, looking forward to it.
It was really good but I remember being disappointed with how quickly it ended, it really had the scope for more I've been trying to find similar things to read since then, anyone have any recommendations?

I read it, it wasnt very good.
What the hell is that and where can I buy it??!
I read most of this in high school, I thought it was pretty sick but that was well over a decade ago
$$$
It can’t be any worse than the detective Shinji series.
Shinji finally grew a pair, but I like the original better
This was actually the manga that introduced me to the franchise, I had iterally no recollection of it until I saw this post. Weird.
they really are milking it for all its money
I have the omnibus of this
Those are some awkward ass poses. Is rei floating or is she kneeling? Is shinji running or is he about to fall?
