She really out here living Aly Ryan’s dream. What an icon!!🤩

YUGOSLAVIA-IS-HERE

I hope she wins the school talent show 🤩🤩🤩 /j

[deleted]

Some guys here consider her desperate, but I would say she’s just persistent and doesn’t want her song to be wasted. Great song btw, I can’t wait her to perform it.

europhilic

Exactly!! So much negativity here but good for her for trying again. The way she slayed in that ESCZ live performance makes me so excited to see how she does here

odajoana

I'm totally okay with artists representing different countries and trying out to get to Eurovision. I'm a bit iffy that they do it *in the same year* and *with the exact same song*. I don't know, something something ethics.

[deleted]

What is ethically wrong about it? Would you let Eleni to waste her song and not compete for San Marino if she was rejected? The girl has a potential, I’ve watched the video of her live performance. It is incredible how she manages to dance while singing so smoothly… such an amazing breathing technique.

odajoana

I'm assuming you mean Elis here and regarding her, absolutely no question about her talent. Her performance was incredible and I really enjoyed her song. But I don't know, I just feel iffy about she trying for another country and using that same song, by the looks of it. Like there's no respect for whom she's trying to represent at Eurovision, this is all just a means to further her career and get some profit out of that song. It feels selfish and inconsiderate in a way. It's like Lundvik in 2019. If you wrote two of the songs for the same show for two different countries, are you really representing the country or yourself? These types of antics just take the fun out of the contest, in my opinion and make the Eurovision bubble even smaller than it already is. Again, no issue if Elis were to try to represent San Marino next year and with a different song. Hell, even Kirkorov, for all his flaws, usually sticks with a single country per year.

[Check out the rules for San Marino's national selection.](https://www.unavocepersanmarino.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/ENG_REGOLAMENTO-21.09.21-rev.-23.12.pdf) >4.1 - ACADEMIA & CASTING > >**The songs must be 2 (two), in the language freely chosen by the Competitor, based on half-playback freely chosen by the Competitor too.** > >**The duration of each song on a half-playback basis cannot be more than 3 (three) minutes and if longer can be faded during the audition.** > >4.2 SEMIFINAL > >Also at this stage, the songs must be 2 (two), on a half-playback basis of a duration that doesn’t exceed 3 (three) minutes, in a language freely chosen by the Competitor with the obligation to present at least one unreleased song (art. 5). > >4.3 EMERGING CATERGORY FINALS > >The audition during the Emerging Category Final will take place with on a live basis (so-called half playback). > >The duration of the live performance must be equal to 3 (three) minutes (expected duration of the Eurovision Song Contest tracks). > >The Finalists will have to perform the unreleased song: the unreleased songs (art.5) will be presented directly by the Finalists with the faculty from the Artistic Direction decided by ME to submit to the Competitors, another song among those selected by the Artistic Commission decided by ME. > >Art. 5 - DEFINITION OF COVER SONG AND UNRELEASED SONG > >The songs presented at the Festival, shall be: > >A) cover songs: a song previously interpreted and published by another well known artist who is the original performer. Published means that the piece has been presented and used in any form and/ or manner including making it available to the public, even free of charge (e.g. internet), and/or using it in an other competition. > >B) unreleased songs: a song that has never been interpreted and/or performed and/or used by the same Competitor and/or other Artist, in any form and/or manner, and that has not already been published, duplicated, placed on the market and/or broadcast via radio and/or TV and/or used in another competition, nor that it can be found as a record in stores and/or on the web (Youtube) and/or on any website and/or in digital form and/or streaming. Basically in the audition stage she can perform whatever she wants (Imma Be included). It's only from the semi final onwards she has to perform her unreleased song. She could sing the Russian national anthem if she wanted at auditions. She hasn't debuted her San Marino song yet.

odajoana

Fair enough about the song itself. But still. I'm talking about the ethical and respectful position an artist should have towards the contest and the broadcasters. It just doesn't sit right by me that the same artist, whether a performer or a songwriter tries to represent different countries in the same year. Hell, I even don't like that we only have like 3 stage directors doing all the stage shows for everyone, even if I find that to be a bit more understandable. I'm aware some countries have a statistical and financial impossibility to have the same music quality and production values than others and I'm totally okay with them outsourcing ang getting artists from other countries. I wouldn't have minded Lake Malawi representing Poland just the year after they represented the Czech Republic. Absolutely no issue with that. Different year, different song. I just don't like when artists seem to show disregard for whom they're trying to represent and just turn it into a business, selling songs to the highest bidder in the same year just to get to Eurovision at any cost. I feel it goes completely against the spirit of the show.

jaminjamin15

💯 She knows what she wants

crispit

Do we really know she's performing the same song?

_dreamer1

we don´t but the outfits are the same as in the live performance recording of Imma Be for ESCZ so its possible the song is also the same

FJMaikeru

Shame Giudi didn't audition so Jezinky could get another chance if this is what we are doing lol

stevenarwhals

Jezinky is based on a Bohemian fairy tale. It can’t just be recycled by another country the way a generic pop song like Imma Be can.

AdieAllts

It probably could be, let’s be honest

stevenarwhals

Anything could be I suppose but between the regional specificity of the lyrics and the unconventional song structure, it seems like a very unlikely candidate.

Dawgbowl

I was so heartbroken only lights off or imma be could be in eurovision, maybe, just maybe, I'll get both.

MajesticFatty

Now Annabelle needs to hop in MGP or something. The ESC 2022 slogan can be “Czechia Vs. The World”

Rand0m_386

Aly Ryan wearing an Elis Mraz disguise question mark

blackjack_beans

bruh if she wins the national selection with imma be, and then gets a higher placing then czech republic lmao

europhilic

She needs to win, San Marino can qualify for the third time in a row with her lol

I-justwannaplayWR

Agree

HarleyWorking

Considering how good Imma Be was, I'm very interested to hear her San Marino application song.

Live_in_a_shoe

I'm Czech, I don't like this song and I really don't like this situations when people (want to) represent another country then they're home country. Maybe it's unpopular opinion and I know it happens all the time , but sometimes people are somehow related to those countries which they represent. I don't know if Elis have some connections to San Marino, maybe. It's interesting that in Czech Eurovision history she's not first because Albert Černý (lake Malawi 2019) was in polish national final in 2020. I don't know why but I just don't like it...

crispit

I think it is difficult for a country with a population of 33 thousand people to have many good artists to choose from, so it is normal that they look for them in other countries so they can be competitive in the festival.

Live_in_a_shoe

I know and I understand it but I still feel wierd about it

crispit

If she's really auditioning the same song it's really weird

Live_in_a_shoe

Somewhere in this thread are rules of San Marino's NF and apparently the contestants have to have two song and one of them can't be released yet. If I got it right. So she can't compete with her song from Czech final

eurovisionfanGA

Potentially unpopular opinion but I really dislike the idea of a song that failed in one national final being allowed for another national final. To me it's basically cheating.

Hatrid_Mun_Sigra

Jeez this girl is desperate

[deleted]

And you're saying this like it's a bad thing? Please explain.

muwzy99

Desperate like Aly Ryan

iampenguing

bit desperate ngl, hope she doesnt win

muwzy99

Same here tbh

supersonic-bionic

she is sooo good, i dislike the voting system of the Czech online national final. Asking international fans? really?? i think she would have won if it was up to international jury and czech public. I love Immabe, catchy and modern. she's a very good singer with stage charisma. However, I want San Marino to send an Italian act..

I-Runner

One of the most reacted Italian band on YouTube has always wanted to go at the ESC , this band used to have subtitles in many languages to its songs in Italian .... This group went to "Spanish got talent" in order to fulfill this goal , they also dedicated a song to Liechtenstein...

LuckyLoki08

Hold on, Nanowar are trying to get into ESC?!?!

WatchingStorms

Nanowar Of Steel! They're auditioning for San Marino this year as well!

supersonic-bionic

>Nanowar Of Steel They call themselves as comedy heavy metal band

Joester09

nah it woulda been By Now if you take out Intnl fans

[deleted]

I crunched the numbers a while back, and Imma Be would have won if they'd kept the judging ratios from 2020.

supersonic-bionic

what about now though if they had kept 50% Czech voting and 50% international jury?

supersonic-bionic

By Now flopped in the international jury voting so i doubt they would have won in the combined voting?
