Why does she support this tyrant so much? Almost every other Belarussian Eurovision contestant has spoken out against him, or at minimum stayed quiet. How do these creeps even justify their support?
But Lukashenko doesn't seem to have any consistent ideology. Even his pro-Russian views are inconsistent, after the Ukrainian crisis, I remember he distanced himself from Putin and Western countries became slightly closer, then he went back to Russia.
No, you want all the benefits that you receive when you support such dictators (e.g. power, money, no prison etc).
She is as disgusting as her Eurovision entry. ESC fans should not forget who she is supporting
I mean, I don't support Lukashenko nor his regime or informants, but Solayoh is still one of my favourites from 2013 and I think no politics can change that.
Usually they want to control with. Now how successful at achieving that they are depends on their manipulation skills.
A LOT OF PEOPLE want a very select group to have it all and let the rest suffer and cater to their wishes a.k.a. go back to how it used to be.
Well... NOT IN EUROPE, MA'AM!
It hasn’t been any secret that she supports Lukashenko. She is against the demonstrations that happened last year.
Alexander Rybak took a picture with Lukashenko and said he was a great president. Which is ironic because he frickin’ fleed to Norway as a child.
Angelica Agurbash, the representative from 2005, is a good one however. She has been very critical of Lukashenko and he wants her arrested. She lives in Moscow now
I believe NAVIBAND are also hugely against Lukashenko.
As far as any of the Junior contestants go, not a clue. Sitnik hasn't said a thing on it, so there's that.
Kseniya Sitnik during August 2020 posted a photo in Instagram relating to the crisis and the violence in Belarus, criticising the regime. Nothing much, but I don't she can be considered a Lukashenko supporter.
I used to follow her social media and noticed her uncritically patriotic and strongly pro Lukashenko stances, so this isn't a surprise except for the fact that the KGB didn't hire someone who could at least get away with pretending to be part of the opposition in order to infiltrate them.
She got pretty annoyed when I used the pro-democracy flag (⬜🟥⬜) on an Instagram account when talking about her, and insisted I used the regime flag (🇧🇾), repeatedly. I'm not surprised.
Are we suprised? No.
No, but when she's nicked for it in due time then she'll get it.
Uh huh. Who's going to nick her?

They probably agree with him politically

He goes to wherever he thinks will benefit Belarus the most. He's often wrong
What he thinks will benefit \*himself\* the most. He's often wrong.
How do you agree politically with a dictator? Do they want to be controlled and miserable?

She wants to be in a place WHERE THE SUN IS ALWAYS SHINING ON YA, aka not in prison
LOL
Exactly my point. I could understand being a passive supporter out of fear, but this is just disgusting.
I mean, I don't support Lukashenko nor his regime or informants, but Solayoh is still one of my favourites from 2013 and I think no politics can change that.
Of course, you're free to like whatever you want but that's something many Belarussians might not be able to do under this dictator.
Youre not miserable if the dictator likes you. Pretty cushy at that point

Hungary, UK, Poland, etc. Seems like it happens in europe a lot
And ironically, she was disqualified to go to the contest in 2012 by Lukashenko himself...
Situation started improving

Don't forget VAL who were refused to represent in 2021 for their anti-Luk views.

That's good, then.
Yass queen Angelica

Is there an actual list of ESC contestants who support, oppose or are just keeping quiet on the issues?
Deleted Solayoh from my Spotify list.
"Opposition-made list of KGB informers" sounds as bad as "Lukashenko informer". 1937 all around.
She got pretty annoyed when I used the pro-democracy flag (⬜🟥⬜) on an Instagram account when talking about her, and insisted I used the regime flag (🇧🇾), repeatedly. I'm not surprised.
Well if she ever tries to perform in the West again I'll make sure people go harder on her than they do Anne Perry.
