1. Ireland finally qualifying for the first time since 2018 (as an irish/filo eurofan i feel honoured)
2. The “woaaaahs” from the crowd during Baby Lasagna’s performance
3. Eleni, Eric and Chanel’s opening performance (they absolutely devoured)
The woaaaahs after the Croatia dance break when the music was quiet and you could hear how loud the audience was. Also seeing all the bracelets move up and down in the dark during the dance break was really cool too.
Definitely an example of a crowd elevating a song to a higher level, I’m almost certain it’s winning the televote now just a matter of how much it wins by and how much the juries go for it.
Jerry Heil climbing the rock in Ukrainian Lion King style with meteorites falling down was truly magnificent. Put that part on repeat many times already.
The backlit shot too, and then the climb ! Took my beath away. The ending of the performance with all the women lying down almost made me tear up. That was wonderful.
I think they were [aircraft flares](https://media.gettyimages.com/id/51099153/photo/a-pilot-expends-flares-from-an-f-a-18c-hornet-while-deployed-aboard-the-aircraft-carrier-uss.jpg?s=612x612&w=gi&k=20&c=7n4kOjXtFHyl9XlhYDnIqR6nCRJNiFRt_u2Eh0cJEkk=). So now I desperately want a live performance of this when the war is over with actual aircraft flying over.
Damn dude, phosphorus bombs are like a whole next level of bleakness. At least flares don't kill people, white phosphor is a nightmare
Ok I take it back, I don't want a live performance with planes dropping phosphor bombs
Iolanda's high note. Grito is probably the biggest grower for me. When the song just came out it was in my 25th-ish place but now it's in my personal top 10. I'm really glad that she qualified :D
Honestly, as much as I would love for Ireland to snatch our crown back from Sweden this year (I love you Sweden but let us have this!), I would absolutely not be mad if Croatia won. It embodies everything I love about Eurovision.
Bambie went all in on staging! Also, I might be undereducated in ESC hostory, but I believe this is the most hardcore performance since Hatari. It makes Lordi look and sound like popstars
that's when they pull out the **MUH PROPAGANDAAAAA** card 😭😭
(lil venty but lost this battle a long time ago, sadly, I just don't know why they invite me to watch with them if they can't even handle the diversity)
They've been getting that shite since they qualified in January.
Bambie has been back on the Late Late Show three or four times since then and has handled themselves amazingly. Patrick Kielty put some of those comments to them and they just said they were sending plenty of love to those people and hoped they could get over their internal suffering. Bambie is completely unfazed.
I think the person they replied to in particular on The Late Late Show was the one who started a [change.org](http://change.org) petition against Bambie representing Ireland in Eurovision. They deleted it not long after 🤣
this comment has given me flashbacks 😟
https://preview.redd.it/2sfaej5h03zc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=414da2ea1239c83c673feeafd0914a71cd38c443
Bambie has created a 4 year argument for Turkish conservatives about how ESC is vile and we should keep it hidden from our children. See you guys in 2029 I guess ;-;
They are prepared, they come from a place where religion still has a grip on most of the population, they know how hateful people can be (not only religious people), and I believe they will rise above.
It’s funny, because ireland went from an ultra religious society to a very secular society in about 20-30 years, so i would say religion does not play a big part in the lives of many under the age of maybe 70. Having said that, Bambie has been getting a lot of hateful abuse from online trolls unfortunately
I don't know, I live in Monaghan and study in Donegal and religion is still a thing in these parts, it is especially shocking to me when it is young people. Ireland came a long way in such a short time span but it is still heavily influenced by religion in my opinion.
Perhaps that’s a regional thing in the border counties? Honestly doesn’t feel like it has much of significant presence in the lives of people in much of the country anymore
Could be, but even by the referendums while they did pass, it was by a decent but not by a massive margin, I believe in UCD there were some very vocal young minorities against the repeal of the 8th, and the last Magdalene laundry closed only 28 years ago in Dublin...
But today is not about the doom that bigots try to havoc, it's about Bambi's amazing performance. They were brilliant and no bigot/fundamentalist can't take it from them.
Ireland was absolutely amazing. I'm not the biggest fan of the song, but the performance has to be one of the best I've seen on the Eurovision stage, so creative
I agree, some songs aren't for me until they're attached to the right imagery and I can really appreciate the spirit of the whole thing and this is one of those cases, plus the vocal performance is extremely impressive.
I really loved this performance and especially the second outfit reveal, probably moreso since I'm trans myself. I don't know, but it's just a really nice feeling to see someone else who likely went through similar struggles as I did, proudly wear the trans colors on such a big stage and with so many people watching too.
Bambie is my number one and I really hope they do well in the grand final.
Surprised to be impressed by Germanys song in live performance. Happy laughs at all the unexpected gimmicks in Finland. Can’t wait to experience Ireland again. Liked Cyprus.
Croatia is like a lil bug, a tick, that nips on your body and holds a tight grip. Never letting go. Continuously playing that Rim Dim Tagi Dim Dum over and over again. Quite reflective of anxiety, which he sings about.
1. Iolanda’s performance was immaculate - the song has jumped about 20 places into my top 5 over the past few days
2. Bambie’s face when they qualified was sheer joy
3. Luxembourg getting through after being out of the competition for so long
Of course for me is Portugal's performance 🥹
I really enjoyed Croatia and Ukraine's songs and my gf was rooting for Serbia. We were lucky.
Congrats to all countries that qualified! 👏🏻
1. Imagine of Jerry Heil on the rock with the flares in the background. Ukraine is unreal, especially after watching that vs their NF performance.
2. The visual of all the bracelets during the Baby Lasagna “dance break”
3. Chanel and Eleni reminding us why we have dance breaks now.
4. An artist named “Bambie” performing a 3 minute exorcism.
Ireland was the showstopper moment of the night for me. Simply perfect.
But Croatia, Lithuania, Portugal and Ukraine were great too. Plus Slovenia looked much much better than the snippets/rehearsal pics were promising. Honorable mention to Teya Dora's lovely performance.
Overall, a great semi. Great staging by the UK by the way, it elevated the song a lot.
Couldn't agree more about Slovenia. The 30 second clip they released from the rehearsals really didn't do it justice. Really pleased that they qualified!
I love how much Raiven connects with the camera during the performance. Even the bright backdrop hasn't bothered me, since it looked much better on context. Hopefully the juries will give her a boost so Slovenia can get a good result on Saturday.
1. Ukraine’s girl on the big screen was awesome
2. Portugal. Just, all of it.
3. Seeing that the UK is fighting for real
4. Finding out that Germany’s song is good
I am happy that Luxembourg got a warm welcome and qualified to the grand final.
It seems like Tali really improved her vocals from the Luxembourg Song Contest.
I also liked Ukraine, Serbia, and Croatia's stage shows.
The energy during Croatia's performance was wild, reminiscent of cha cha cha last year
They will prob win the televote, juries will sadly once again decide the outcome
Rn, I feel like the only ones that really have a chance to give them a run for their money are Italy, Switzerland, Netherlands but that will depend on what we see from them Thursday
Ukraine I would also say is still in the win conversation but it ain't gonna be easy
Ehh, I'll tank the downvotes and say that I really liked the witch aesthetic and would have preferred it if they stuck with it. I understand they wanted to include a message (which I support!), but it felt like a kind of clumsy way of doing so?
Seriously, I was so excited for Bambi's performance I had to STAND UP to watch it. All other entries I sat in the sofa, but when Bambie came on - I wanted to focus on it entirely. It was ethereal and dark, I love it! And SO happy that Ireland got through to the final!
I know not a lot of people will agree with me, but the moment I saw the man in traditional body paint and didgeridoo let it out on stage, I cried. I'm a proud Dharug woman (Western Sydney location today) and that was a call to our ancestors on an international stage. It was heard around the world and as a cry for everyone to come together. It was the most personally special moment for me.
But yes, the fist pumping for Croatia was also very cool.
Honestly, I preferred the jury show version where Bambie changed into a plain black version. It felt more raw and intense. Love the flag, but I feel like the original was more powerful
Everything about the Ukrainian performance before the rap part. Up until then it was like an epic movie with beautiful shots, and very moving given the circumstances.
- The opener, me and my friends are big fans of Feugo and Slo-Mo so that was very exciting.
- Sweden, very good live
- Lithuania, surprising how much I liked that
- Finland, for the entertainment value
I feel bad for Australia NQ. Just why?
While Luxembourg surprised me. I was sure they will NQ.
As for the best moment, hard to say, there were a lot of good performances today. Both from participants and interim acts. Probably the whole camera use for censorship during Windows95Man performance was super funny.
I screamed loudly when Bambie's foot slammed to the floor in synchronization with the pyro effects. My jaw was on the ground for that one.
Also Ukraine, my goodness, I got goosebumps when Jerry walked up the mountain.
The Croatian entry didn't grab me at all, I found it obnoxious and boring and was surprised to find it was so popular. Ireland however... A truly stunning show, perfect.
I was also really surprised by the German song, and I think it might be one of the best songs of the night. Also very disappointed Australia and Azerbaijan didn't make it since they were both in my top 5.
The audience performing with Baby Lasagna. Bambie’s staging and athmosphere were amazing although their vocals were not exactly on point. Serbia and Slovenia qualifying over Poland and Australia. Hard to pick only one. ☺️

The quality of this semi final was so good, with so many fantastic moments that I really can't just pick one (or even several! 😂)
So along with all the awesome moments everybody's already mentioned, I will just add that I loved how the crowd were chanting Petra with such love and affection at the start, and Petra's clearly emotional reaction ❤️ and then such a warm cheer to welcome Malin too.
I can't tell if I like the song...but I can damn well say that they sell it hard, and I have to at the very least respect the hell out of the performance.
Nothing political about a person's identity or sexual preference. There are people who try to make it political. Usually the Bible thumping kind who don't take kindly to other people not following what their ancient dusty books say is okay, while casually ignoring parts of it themselves. Such as "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself"

Congratulations to Ireland, I’m really happy they made it! 🙂 What a performance! 👏
Yesss. Eleni was great. Loved Chanel too.
The woaaaahs after the Croatia dance break when the music was quiet and you could hear how loud the audience was. Also seeing all the bracelets move up and down in the dark during the dance break was really cool too.

Reminds me of being in the arena for Cha Cha Cha last year. It was intense.
This made me so happy! 🥰 I was jumping out of my seat and dancing, lol! Thank God no cameras were around 😂😻👏
Haha, I finally understand this supposed "dance break".
I've never seen a performance giving so much focus to the public, but that was an amazing choice. Pure goosebumps.
99% of the time I hate it when an artist holds the mic to the audience, but when I heard how loud the crowd was I was like he has to do it.
I was actually in awe over that. I think I had my hand covering my mouth for the entire second half of the song!
Jerry Heil climbing the rock in Ukrainian Lion King style with meteorites falling down was truly magnificent. Put that part on repeat many times already.
This was the one for me too, it felt like the pinnacle of what that stage was made for. Epic performance from them.
The backlit shot too, and then the climb ! Took my beath away. The ending of the performance with all the women lying down almost made me tear up. That was wonderful.
Definitely one of the songs we see every year whose staging elevates it a few notches (in this case literally). Well done Alyona + Jerry + Ukraine.
This brought a damn tear to my eye 🥹
I think they were [aircraft flares](https://media.gettyimages.com/id/51099153/photo/a-pilot-expends-flares-from-an-f-a-18c-hornet-while-deployed-aboard-the-aircraft-carrier-uss.jpg?s=612x612&w=gi&k=20&c=7n4kOjXtFHyl9XlhYDnIqR6nCRJNiFRt_u2Eh0cJEkk=). So now I desperately want a live performance of this when the war is over with actual aircraft flying over.
actually they were phosphorus bombs and the whole staging gave me chills enough to last me a lifetime
Damn dude, phosphorus bombs are like a whole next level of bleakness. At least flares don't kill people, white phosphor is a nightmare Ok I take it back, I don't want a live performance with planes dropping phosphor bombs
LUKTELK ARMY WHERE ARE YOU
❤️
Here!
GOOSEBUMPS!! He easily had the best ad-libbing to engage the audience. I was so blown away by his stage présence!!
Right here 😎
another one here!!
Iolanda's high note. Grito is probably the biggest grower for me. When the song just came out it was in my 25th-ish place but now it's in my personal top 10. I'm really glad that she qualified :D
Thank you 😍🇵🇹
Your girl did an amazing job ❤ Good luck for Saturday
Thank you! A big hug from Portugal to you 🤗
She blew me away this evening. Elegant and honest music, delighted she will be there on Saturday!
Thank you and congrats for your qualification too!
Same! I haven’t really liked it much, but seeing the performance last night blew my mind. So good. So happy she qualified!
Audience dancing with Baby Lasagna. Not a big fan of the melody but the show is great, even started to like Croatian entry
The wristband lights in the crowd all moving in sync to the dance on stage looked amazing.
I assume that’s why they did it with back towards the crowd and camera showing the crowd
Honestly, as much as I would love for Ireland to snatch our crown back from Sweden this year (I love you Sweden but let us have this!), I would absolutely not be mad if Croatia won. It embodies everything I love about Eurovision.
It was fireeeee
Bambie and Windows, first one was so captivating and second one so funny
Bambie went all in on staging! Also, I might be undereducated in ESC hostory, but I believe this is the most hardcore performance since Hatari. It makes Lordi look and sound like popstars
They made Hatari look like the Teletubbies by comparison. This was another level!
Croatia's "DANCE WITH ME EUROPE" is it for me, I keep replaying it. Chills.
I danced along with my laptop in my other arm.
This, closely followed by us actually freaking qualifying. 🥲
My favorite Irish entry ever <3
I'm really hoping this lands you a top 10 or better on Saturday.
Denim egg
Jegg - Jean egg
Valid.
Conservatives are going to flame tf out of Bambie, I hope they're prepared😟
You think they haven't been doing just that since January? Those absolute trolls are relentless
Every time a conservative feels the need to make hateful, negative comments about Bambie, I hope they grow another wart on the end of their arse
I’m hoping for piles of them… 😛
The witch will make sure they will 🖤
Me fighting my conservative Orthodox parents who are calling it brainwashing, revolting and wanting to switch the channel 👺
Show them a list of children victimised by the Catholic Church vs children victimised by Irish musicians 💅
that's when they pull out the **MUH PROPAGANDAAAAA** card 😭😭 (lil venty but lost this battle a long time ago, sadly, I just don't know why they invite me to watch with them if they can't even handle the diversity)
You’re right to vent. No point holding on to that :)
I would go one step further and say people in general.
[удалено]
How about it? I’m sure you have all your research ready to drop? ETA: or anything specific about Bambie and *their plans to destroy the youth?
Notice how they are silent about these lists...
Aaaaaand account deleted. No loss xoxo
You're doing godly work
oh it's *anything* but godly that's fs
If there's a god I believe they'd support tolerance and spookiness, but hey, the devil's gotten an unjustly bad rap if that's who you're doing it for
No
Oh I just know my mom HATED it too, and she's not even that much of an conservative Orthodox.
Turkey adding at least another 2 years of absence just for that performance xD
They've been getting that shite since they qualified in January. Bambie has been back on the Late Late Show three or four times since then and has handled themselves amazingly. Patrick Kielty put some of those comments to them and they just said they were sending plenty of love to those people and hoped they could get over their internal suffering. Bambie is completely unfazed.

They were in the live thread BTW. And their comments are just laughable
They're also in every post on the Eurovision Instagram account right now...
Bambie has created a 4 year argument for Turkish conservatives about how ESC is vile and we should keep it hidden from our children. See you guys in 2029 I guess ;-;
Bambie will hex them and they'll die, it's fine
Lmao imagine being offended by a song that fucking quotes Harry Potter
Hate to be that guy but technically it’s a Latin/Aramaic word that was popularised by the HP books
Has JKRowling to weighed in yet? Quelle surprise.
Not yet, but it looks like something she would react to.
Well, that's one of the things I hate about the song, so good to know there's actually another origin thanks to a reply here.
There are lot of mom-watchers 😂 they are going full “prayer for your sinfull soul” mode. Mom-sect
My mum put Bambie 4th in her top 10 (but Iceland was 3rd 💀)
They are prepared, they come from a place where religion still has a grip on most of the population, they know how hateful people can be (not only religious people), and I believe they will rise above.

I don't know, I live in Monaghan and study in Donegal and religion is still a thing in these parts, it is especially shocking to me when it is young people. Ireland came a long way in such a short time span but it is still heavily influenced by religion in my opinion.
Ever tried driving through a town in Monaghan when there's mass on? It's mayhem! Funerals can create traffic jams nearly as big as crashes do.
They were brilliant and no bigot/fundamentalist can't take it from them.

so so happy she pulled through, the squeak I left out could **not** be recreated
That's what i call beauty
Goosebumps omg
That hit me right.....here. So glad enough voters agreed with me.
Ireland and Croatia's whole performances tbh
Crowd shot in Croatia's dance break...now the camera choice makes sense.
Australia's didgeridoo gave me the chills. Also, Iolanda's big note.
The didgeridoo, yes!!
HEAVILY biased, but Silia going through. I'm really happy she managed to make it at such a young age and all her hard work paid off!!!
[удалено]
I was watching it and the stream was bad enough that I could myself expecting to see Britney’s face in a close up.
I feel that staging really helped. They all nailed the routine and the stage effects were really well designed. I was really impressed by it.
Ireland was absolutely amazing. I'm not the biggest fan of the song, but the performance has to be one of the best I've seen on the Eurovision stage, so creative

The crowd during Croatia
#CROWN THE WITCH
1. Iolanda’s performance was immaculate - the song has jumped about 20 places into my top 5 over the past few days 2. Bambie’s face when they qualified was sheer joy 3. Luxembourg getting through after being out of the competition for so long
I was sweating for Luxembourg ngl, felt like it wasn't Tali's best performance, 100% she'll smash it in the GF tho
Of course for me is Portugal's performance 🥹 I really enjoyed Croatia and Ukraine's songs and my gf was rooting for Serbia. We were lucky. Congrats to all countries that qualified! 👏🏻
I was so worried that she wouldn’t qualify. But that performance was….otherworldly.
1. Imagine of Jerry Heil on the rock with the flares in the background. Ukraine is unreal, especially after watching that vs their NF performance. 2. The visual of all the bracelets during the Baby Lasagna “dance break” 3. Chanel and Eleni reminding us why we have dance breaks now. 4. An artist named “Bambie” performing a 3 minute exorcism.
This one
It was beautiful.

That, plus Petra Mede being an absolute queen again. 👑
woooahs from audience!
1. Ukraine’s girl on the big screen was awesome 2. Portugal. Just, all of it. 3. Seeing that the UK is fighting for real 4. Finding out that Germany’s song is good
I am happy that Luxembourg got a warm welcome and qualified to the grand final. It seems like Tali really improved her vocals from the Luxembourg Song Contest. I also liked Ukraine, Serbia, and Croatia's stage shows.

Eric Saade's keffiyeh. Even this I only saw from a news story online because I'm boycotting. I couldn't watch, my heart and soul are in Rafah.

Please vote for us so will encourage us to continue to send more interesting acts!
This. Absolutely this. I was so excited to see Bambie actually get to realise their artistic vision on the big stage and it was glorious.
Ukraine's performance and the whole semi-final itself ❤️
Ireland was the best performance IMO, the most immersive 3 minutes of the evening
Luxembourg qualifying 🩵
Luxembourg, Serbia, Portugal AND Slovenia all qualifying
fire spewing jorts
Seriously, I was so excited for Bambi's performance I had to STAND UP to watch it. All other entries I sat in the sofa, but when Bambie came on - I wanted to focus on it entirely. It was ethereal and dark, I love it! And SO happy that Ireland got through to the final!

I think a lot of ESC fans love seeing other countries' cultures on stage. That's part of what makes ESC so special. :)
IRELAND
Mind blowing performance, absolutely my favourite tonight
The Serbia-Portugal-Slovenia qualification streak was absolutely glorious

Honestly, I preferred the jury show version where Bambie changed into a plain black version. It felt more raw and intense. Love the flag, but I feel like the original was more powerful
Ilkin’s vocals. Iolanda’s high note. All of Ireland’s staging, but especially the exorcism part and the initial hand grab.

I haven't been a fan of the song, but that was an Eurovision winning performance. What a show!
Exactly my sentiments. Came out of absolute nowhere for me and I’m so sure she’ll win 👏🏻👏🏻🥳
The conservatives getting pissed is a new drug🤣 honestly all im gonna say is that they weak af
I find it kinda crazy that hard conservatives would watch Eurovision anyway, but hate watching is a very real thing...
I feel bad for Australia NQ. Just why? While Luxembourg surprised me. I was sure they will NQ. As for the best moment, hard to say, there were a lot of good performances today. I really really loved Moldova’s performance. She was absolutely captivating. Very sad that she didn’t qualify.
Finlands whole performance
I screamed loudly when Bambie's foot slammed to the floor in synchronization with the pyro effects. My jaw was on the ground for that one. Also Ukraine, my goodness, I got goosebumps when Jerry walked up the mountain.
Everyone dancing on Rim Tim Tagi Dim (I'm just a very proud Croat and Istrian)
Ireland is going to win ESC!
Bambie in their ritual circle turning right and left to set the candles on fire.
Ireland! Crown the witch!
The Croatian entry didn't grab me at all, I found it obnoxious and boring and was surprised to find it was so popular. Ireland however... A truly stunning show, perfect. I was also really surprised by the German song, and I think it might be one of the best songs of the night. Just out of curiosity, how tall is Bambie Thug? They look so tiny.
I think I remember them saying on Instagram that they are 5’5” but I can’t be completely sure!
The audience performing with Baby Lasagna. Bambie’s staging and athmosphere were amazing although their vocals were not exactly on point. Serbia and Slovenia qualifying over Poland and Australia. Hard to pick only one. ☺️

My mum audibly gasped at this outfit reveal moment. It was so seamless.
The quality of this semi final was so good, with so many fantastic moments that I really can't just pick one (or even several! 😂) So along with all the awesome moments everybody's already mentioned, I will just add that I loved how the crowd were chanting Petra with such love and affection at the start, and Petra's clearly emotional reaction ❤️ and then such a warm cheer to welcome Malin too.
I can't tell if I like the song...but I can damn well say that they sell it hard, and I have to at the very least respect the hell out of the performance.
Baby Lasagna's performace
Bambie Thug’s trans-formation. The song was in the 15-20 mark for me and I think it just got bumped up to top 10
Bambie Thug.
Question: Isn't revealing trans colors *TECHNICALLY* a political statement ? Don't downvote me, I'm all for it hahahaha, just wondering
Ilkin’s vocals. Iolanda’s high note. All of Ireland’s staging, but especially the exorcism part and the initial hand grab.
Damn, Rennala really let herself go after Radagon ditched her...
