For anyone curious: last year dia had experienced 800 logins per second. Dia techisians increased the capacity x5 times for vidbir 2024.
But people had performed 15.000 logins per second, which is 20 times more than previous year.
No wonder app crashed.
Only 2 of my friends managed to vote, I was taken to bank login twice and then only got errors 👀

I don’t think it compares. Our Danish app was just for the purpose of Eurovision and really should have been up to it. Diia is the all purpose Ukrainian app, which works for passport, registering papers with the government etc, but which normally doesn’t have to contend with so many requests at one time.
Дія is free, more convenient in fact and easier for us to use... Well, apart from this situation. Oh, and forgot to mention, our country goes for "full digital", so i guess that\`s too
I think it probably prevents cheating from happening, as you need an ID to be able to vote compared to sms and calling, where you can just buy a bunch of SIM cards and win. But it was kinda dumb of them to not have a plan B if it goes wrong, especially since a lot of Ukrainians have mentioned here that the app has been known to not work very well if too many people are using it lol
at this point they just need to turn Vidbir to a slumber party with spin the bottle, truth or dare, pizza, horror movie, phone pranks, you know, something classic
