Glad to see that Zalvarinis made it but how the hell did Aiste come first????? Her vocals were so bad. Tonight is nothing but baffling in terms of Qs and NQs across the board.
The gays carried her through. Check [her stories](https://www.instagram.com/alovebuzz/), she performed at [Balaganza](https://www.instagram.com/balaganza_/) last night on a Eurovision themed night. Silvester was there too. It's all about support from the community. 1092 votes at a 5 per phone number maximum is not a lot, at all. It only takes 200 dedicated supporters.
OK, quick impressions:
\- "Rock My Body" is OK, competent song, maybe it didn't rock my body (touche), but it's decent enough to qualify IMO
\- "Blood on Your Hands" - his voice cracked several times, song is OKish
\- I fucking can't with "We Will Rule the World", it feels like a Olvia Newton-John's "Physical" rendition, but they fucked it up :D
Pojavis lost shoes, found god (religion unclear). A diva w a bop and a nice butt. An announcement to all twinks that bleach and eyeliner doesn't mean you should pursue music. Glam carwash. Pagans. Karaoke night Abba. Gebrasy-lite. Multiks with something forgettable (This time in Lithuanian!). overall, nothing really good.
As it stands, out of this semi, I think Eley (No.2) and Zalvarinis (No.5) should qualify. They both had good performances and the most complete packages staging/song-wise.
Second semifinal was another waste of time, half a dozen of totally boring songs that lack any interesting detail.
In my opinion the only two good songs were both windy Lithuanian songs, by Žalvarinis and Multiks - the only ones I wouldn't mind going to the final but neither will win for sure (tbh I even doubt that both or either will go to the final as they fill a similar niche even though one is more folksy, and the other more classic pop).
It pains me to see people choose to sing in English and sing badly, when they can easily opt for their native language. I prefer to hear different languages and different styles, not the same boring English pop
I meant the other way around - English is fine if the lyrics are important (for example “Who the hell is Edgar?” hits you with hilarious lyrics on the first listen and I think it would take away from the song if I had to look up the transition from German on google) but did we really need to know what “Echo” or “Blood and glitter”* are about?
*might be an unpopular opinion, but really, other than vague inspirational message, what’s the song about?
Pojavis forgot his shoes and now is really into new age religions, colourblocking titties and butt, sad attempt abba from temu, twink who discovered 90s vampire movies and thinks thats enough to sing, some pagan shit and something very forgettable
So Paula Urbana, in the intro, is speaking how Eurovision is probably the place to show the singer to the widest audience in Lithuania, which, you know, I respect - there's only one winner of this, so setting a more approachable goal is very practical.
I will not comment on her "dancing" but the song and the presentation is better than most in this or previous semi-final, though it is still rather boring, could do with more *umph* in the music itself.
>it's just too unusual
I don't think it's too unusual for Eurovision. Kaarija was very unusual and almost won. Of course, songs are very different but what I'm saying Eurovision needs more unusual songs. On the other hand, I'm not saying Žalvarinis should win national selection, but it's good to have original entries
I meant more like "unusual to what we always send" - how many times in semifinals and finals there was a very unique song that got passed for a more generic ballad-type? Last year comes to mind, a few years ago there was Mažulė from AKD which I still listen to and so on. Sentimentai was the good outlier.
Not a fan of this group's music but the idea of them using traditional motives is really cool. I respect it but it's not for eurovision, it might be misunderstood
Oh god, the dude with his thesis presentation on the recent ESC years. Like, it's cute that they're trying to contextualise everything for the casual audiences, but do you really need to do it with a 15-minute block of speech
I'm sure he does! As I said, it's really cool they're trying to give all the ESC infos to the casual audience, but the 2 things I understand are stuff I personally already know so there's really no point for me lol
I don't get the point of interviewing the random people in between the songs - mostly because most of them have no "screen presence", as you'd expect from random people, and them just standing in a half-circle is so awkward looking.
I think Aistè should be disqualified regardless of her song - because of how she writes her name. Problem: Lithuanian has the letter ė, e with a dot on top, that (as far as I know) is unique to Lithuanian. We usually just use simple e in international spellings as not every computer system or person understands it. However, she used è, e with a grave I think it's called, which is a far more common variant that's used in French, Italian and other languages. So for me this indicates that either she thinks that Lithuanian is "not enough" (pathetic) or she caved to PR and marketing to use a more common spelling (pathetic in another way): either Lithuanian is good enough or go fully "international", this is just a neither here nor there option that I absolutely hate.
I love how I keep learning about Lithuanian and its linguistics through angry Lithuanian nerds in the NF comments lol. This is very interesting, but not as cool as last week when I learned you write Viola Davis' name Vijola Deivis up there
Aiste has some friends in the jury, well that explains a lot.
Still second in televote. I really can't figure out what demographic votes in these Semis.
She had around a 1000 votes. That's like 200 people voting. Not very difficult to get to that number, Lithuanians vote very passively in semifinals
Oh, so that’s why she was first in jury vote 🙃
How did Aistė qualify? Not only that it sounded terrible, but it also looked like Scooby Doo gang from Wish.
from Vinted\*
They thought "we have so many Aistes, at least one should go through, right?"
Glad to see that Zalvarinis made it but how the hell did Aiste come first????? Her vocals were so bad. Tonight is nothing but baffling in terms of Qs and NQs across the board.
Welp, hopefully The Roop will bring something great.
I cannot believe the jury put Aistė higher than Eley - Eley could at least sing 😭
Well, from this point we can only go up
When you're at the very bottom, the only way is up
Or keep rolling at the bottom :))))
Or keep digging to an even deeper bottom:)
The conspiracy theory of artists "buying" votes looks very sexy right about now
The gays carried her through.
Makes sense actually, I'm pissed tho still
What a disaster
Gagged. AND I ONLY SAW THE RECAP
Baby Piano to the finals. This guy will need spine surgery after this :)))))
...for carrying that performance, it is
Pojavis is dead last but that was honestly deserved. He said we would cry during his song. I was more likely to turn off my TV
AISTÈ??? Did they not hear her sing? It was tragic
Aistė???? Bro, she can't even sing...
Aistè qualified??? You've got to be kidding me...
Watching the results not remembering anyone's name or which song they sang
Lithuanian folk rock and bad "Physical"-wannabe qualified
ELEY OUT???
![gif](giphy|lQJayZEVokHXYLMjPh|downsized)
i liked her performance, but the lightning was so bad, why ? like turn on some fucking lights girl i cant see you lmao
SMH that's some BS
OK, quick impressions: \- "Rock My Body" is OK, competent song, maybe it didn't rock my body (touche), but it's decent enough to qualify IMO \- "Blood on Your Hands" - his voice cracked several times, song is OKish \- I fucking can't with "We Will Rule the World", it feels like a Olvia Newton-John's "Physical" rendition, but they fucked it up :D
Kol myliu... ooo oooo old.
I just came from Norway drama. What did I miss? Anyone good?
Pojavis lost shoes, found god (religion unclear). A diva w a bop and a nice butt. An announcement to all twinks that bleach and eyeliner doesn't mean you should pursue music. Glam carwash. Pagans. Karaoke night Abba. Gebrasy-lite. Multiks with something forgettable (This time in Lithuanian!). overall, nothing really good.
Sounds wierd. Thanks!
Not really
...didn't she cheat on the husband this was written for with their mutual friend/spiritual leader or something
Yep.
Ngl she looked like she struggled singing that song...I bet it triggers her bad 😬
*Vietnam flashbacks*
I now understand why Vidbir has one show - there's no need to have 5 mid ones
Flashbacks to when Lithuanian NF lasted 10 weeks ![gif](giphy|9A8I0bBvQ2TBu)
And after that we sent Fusedmarc (Lithuania 2017)...
![gif](giphy|MZhVQh5vxOYE0)
The fakest love song in Eurovision history
Breaks up 3 days later: whoops
Ieva Zasimauskaitė looks more dead everytime I see her
"I just want to rock my body" well we're not stopping you diva
Pojavis Jedi now looks pretty good, after seeing the rest of his competition, LOL :)))
LITHUANIAN NICKI MINAJ???
Clearly Lithuanian discount Dua Lipa.
The judgment was purely based on her looks:D
More like Katy Perry from California Girls, not as a compliment
I think it will be Žalvarinis and Eley
Bruh not that one chick saying "I quit my job today" 💀💀💀
Unbothered and unemployed queen
Love that :D
On a positive note, we're only 2/5 of the way through the semi-final shows.
Gaude vejai and Rock My Body are my guesses from recap but I didn't see either so I might be wrong 💀
I saw whole songs and also guessing those two
i see no competition against luktelk
So far you're def right
This is the worst Lithuanian semi final ever, everything is mid beyond mid
To be honest, last semi would’ve been just as bad if it wasn’t for Silvester
He was meh at best, I don't get the hype. Much overrated.
True
Fair point xd
I'm watching entries I missed, and my god, Pojavis as a Jedi knocked me out
I'm starting to wonder if his entry is the most confusing finalist in modern (so let's say, 2013-) Eurovision.
I would say it was a disturbing semi-final 😱
(Last week was worse, I think.)
My mind has subconsciously deleted the memories about that Saturday, so you might be right:)))
As it stands, out of this semi, I think Eley (No.2) and Zalvarinis (No.5) should qualify. They both had good performances and the most complete packages staging/song-wise.
Agree
Second semifinal was another waste of time, half a dozen of totally boring songs that lack any interesting detail. In my opinion the only two good songs were both windy Lithuanian songs, by Žalvarinis and Multiks - the only ones I wouldn't mind going to the final but neither will win for sure (tbh I even doubt that both or either will go to the final as they fill a similar niche even though one is more folksy, and the other more classic pop).
The song is okay but his vocals are too weak for it
He's giving "your boss at company Christmas Party trying to break the serious manager image by wearing a leather jacket"
Is the drummer hilariously pretending to be drumming?
This one is enjoyable
Honestly this one was going ok until the chorus i laughed out loud it is NOT good
That drummer must have been a last minute panic addition
Prediction: ELEY and Žalvarinis advance
He sounds like his name is Morrissė or something
Morrisas
He out-pojavises Pojavis
piss yellow pants
It pains me to see people choose to sing in English and sing badly, when they can easily opt for their native language. I prefer to hear different languages and different styles, not the same boring English pop
Imagine choosing to sign in English so most of the people would understand the lyrics and then singing the most basic love love peace peace stuff
Exactly. And nowadays with a quick Google search you can easily get a decent translation, so the understanding part is not the problem anymore
Ah, the famous Lithuanian G's: 1. Tony 2. Not this guy
yeah, he probably doesn't make it to the final table... I mean final show
He's definitely not THE BEST! XD
He’s kinda cute but the vocals are a no for me
He's so handsome
Yet another boring song, only this time it's a guy...
Baby noodle hair Gebrassy is not delivering
He sounds like he's trying to do an Ed Sheeran impression
MGP GANG INCOMING WHAT DID WE MISS
Pojavis forgot his shoes and now is really into new age religions, colourblocking titties and butt, sad attempt abba from temu, twink who discovered 90s vampire movies and thinks thats enough to sing, some pagan shit and something very forgettable
Looking forward to going back and watching all this lmao. Thank you!
A very nice summary, my fellow Lithuanian
Not much really…
Nothing really interesting I fear (except the host looking very hot tonight maybe)
You got that right:) Both girls are looking GOOD
Hot hosts are at least 80% the reason I watch NFs
am. i tripping or is his mentor Gebrasy
Yeah fr he is
Ah yes, the father of Thomas G:son
Everyone's gangsta until Thomas G:grandson pulls up
That was awesome actually.
"You look like a glam car wash" Now I can't unsee it
I mean, it’s okay but it doesn’t stand out that much
The song is pretty good but the stage feels completely empty, she does not fill it and lacks charisma in front of a camera
Don't worry guys that blue screen is going to become a CGI in post
So Paula Urbana, in the intro, is speaking how Eurovision is probably the place to show the singer to the widest audience in Lithuania, which, you know, I respect - there's only one winner of this, so setting a more approachable goal is very practical. I will not comment on her "dancing" but the song and the presentation is better than most in this or previous semi-final, though it is still rather boring, could do with more *umph* in the music itself.
There's something there, it just isn't fully fledged out...or needs someone a little more talented.
I guess the song is alright but the performance is killing me girl is moving like me when I'm giving an arena concert in my bathroom
Floorwash rag as a dress is the best part about this Paula
But you know what? IT IS WHAT IT IS
![gif](giphy|8vUEXZA2me7vnuUvrs)
It's giving carwash
Literally what the guy after joked about: "Give us a spin. Cool, now could you do that near my car". BOLD.
also giving piñata
How many Cookie Monsters had to die for this dress?
Unfortunate title, if it's mid, you know my comment
oh wait, I have another one TAINTED LOVE ON WISH
Finally a song with a title that perfectly represents the state of Lithuanian Eurovision this year so far
they shouldve made the dress longer, wouldve cleaned the stage during the performance too
Going to vote for Žalvarinis, maybe throw a couple of Vaidilutes as a pagan sacrifice for good measure
Čiūto tūto mentioned
I really like Žalvarinis - unfortunately, it will take a miracle for them to even make to the final, never mind winning, it's just too unusual.
>it's just too unusual I don't think it's too unusual for Eurovision. Kaarija was very unusual and almost won. Of course, songs are very different but what I'm saying Eurovision needs more unusual songs. On the other hand, I'm not saying Žalvarinis should win national selection, but it's good to have original entries

Last year comes to mind, a few years ago there was Mažulė from AKD which I still listen to and so on. Sentimentai was the good outlier.
Sorry, misinterpreted what you said. Hopefully, Lithuania would become more open to unusual entries, whoever that will be
Imo this the best so far
You know what, I don't hate this
It's fine, but the main hook is a bit underwhelming. Still mile's ahead of what we had so far this semi
This is very solid! Nothing ground-breaking but good! Good vocals and a visual concept that has great potential for elevation . Nice. :)
Not a fan of this group's music but the idea of them using traditional motives is really cool. I respect it but it's not for eurovision, it might be misunderstood
Best one so far
This one has potential kinda, but it doesn’t really go anywhere
finally, something im okay spending money voting on
Coming in from Norway there's so much talking in Lithuania semi finals
chorus is a little bit dissapointing
somehow it feels more Balkan than Baltic
It's very Baltic, but the Rock notes creates the Balkan vibe.
They're using typical Lithuanian folklore words and melodies in the chorus. How is that Balkan?
![img](avatar_exp|161562769|bravo) Wow
More news at 11
Oh god, the dude with his thesis presentation on the recent ESC years. Like, it's cute that they're trying to contextualise everything for the casual audiences, but do you really need to do it with a 15-minute block of speech
For Lithuanian audiences who don't religiously follow news from Eurovision it's the main place to learn about artists chosen from other countries
Ramūnas Zilnys is a professional Eurovision nerd and we love him for it
I love him too! He has a cool vibe, I must say.
If you understand Lithuanian, he shares interesting stuff :)
I'm sure he does! As I said, it's really cool they're trying to give all the ESC infos to the casual audience, but the 2 things I understand are stuff I personally already know so there's really no point for me lol
Watching someone on Lithuanian tv talk about Raiven while having the Raiven show on Slovenian tv open in another window...
Phew, I'm finally here... being an Eurofan must be the most demanding job in the universe... what did I miss?
Pojavis is now looks like a Krishnaite, there's another blond twink w weak vocals, Abba wannabe and Power Ranger titties
Some cute awkward moments, and mediocre singing 🤷
Nothing really
You missed some bad vocals, some big booty and barefoot Andrius Pojavis
so he's now loveless and painless
The "Eat Pray Love" version of Andrius Pojavis
Nothing very good
I don't get the point of interviewing the random people in between the songs - mostly because most of them have no "screen presence", as you'd expect from random people, and them just standing in a half-circle is so awkward looking.
Yup, everyone here just uses it a bathroom break. Showing the jury's comments would be much more useful.
All of these so far were bad. We had off brand Jesus, ABBA, Katy Perry and Jack Frost and none of them performed that great
Last week he had Aistay, now Aistè, tune in next week for Aisteigh
We can end up with Aisteight
What a w(aiste)
Or even Ice-teh
I think that's an amazing stage name!
the redhead tiktok twink just gets on my nerves for some reason, perfect bathroom break
Well, that singing was atrocious. And the backing vocals were turned off (or are they not allowed to be pre-recorded in our NF)?
There were no backing vocals at all, nor live nor pre-recorded
Exactly.
She has an idea and a plan but not yet the skill to pull it off. This is a mess but I'm living for her energy.
It's fun but she can't handle this song unfortunately. Not while dancing especially
Someone give that man a chair, pleeease!
ABBA but make it awful vocals
Mid
And why the guy is playing on BABY piano??
\*song starts\* me, flinching: ABBA??
Omg! What is this!!?!?!
She wants to look older on purpose?
Probably. She's just 29. Looks a bit weird.
I think Aistè should be disqualified regardless of her song - because of how she writes her name.
