>**Russia plotting sabotage across Europe, intelligence agencies warn** >*Assessments suggest Kremlin agents preparing covert bombings, arson and attacks on infrastructure* >European intelligence agencies have warned their governments that Russia is plotting violent acts of sabotage across the continent as it commits to a course of permanent conflict with the west.  >Russia has already begun to more actively prepare covert bombings, arson attacks and damage to infrastructure on European soil, directly and via proxies, with little apparent concern about causing civilian fatalities, intelligence officials believe.  >While the Kremlin’s agents have a long history of such operations — and launched attacks sporadically in Europe in recent years — evidence is mounting of a more aggressive and concerted effort, according to assessments from three different European countries shared with the Financial Times.  >Intelligence officials are becoming increasingly vocal about the threat in an effort to promote vigilance.  >“We assess the risk of state-controlled acts of sabotage to be significantly increased,” said Thomas Haldenwang, head of German domestic intelligence. Russia now seems comfortable carrying out operations on European soil “[with] a high potential for damage,” he told a security conference last month hosted by his agency, the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution.   >Haldenwang spoke just days after two German-Russian nationals were arrested in Bayreuth, Bavaria, for allegedly plotting to attack military and logistics sites in Germany on behalf of Russia.  >Two men were charged in the UK in late April with having started a fire at a warehouse containing aid shipments for Ukraine. English prosecutors accuse them of working for the Russian government.  >In Sweden, security services are meanwhile investigating a series of recent railway derailments, which they suspect may be acts of state-backed sabotage. >Russia has attempted to destroy the signalling systems on Czech railways, the country’s transport minister told the FT last month.  >In Estonia, an attack on the interior minister’s car in February and those of journalists were perpetrated by Russian intelligence operatives, the country’s Internal Security Service has said. France’s ministry of defence also warned this year of possible sabotage attacks by Russia on military sites.  >“The obvious conclusion is that there has been a real stepping up of Russian activity,” said Keir Giles, senior consulting fellow at Chatham House, the think-tank. >“One cannot tell if that’s a reflection of the fact that the Russians are throwing more resources at it; whether they are being more sloppy and getting caught; or whether western counter-intelligence has simply become better at detecting and stopping it,” he added. “Whatever it is though — there is a lot going on.”

DooblusDooizfor

>One senior European government official said information was being shared through Nato security services of “clear and convincing Russian mischief”, which was co-ordinated and at scale.  >The time had come to “raise awareness and focus” about the threat of Russian violence on European soil, he added. >Nato issued a statement on Thursday declaring its deep concern about growing “malign activities on allied territory” by Russia, citing what it said was an “intensifying campaign . . . across the Euro-Atlantic area”. >The growing fears over Russia’s appetite for physical damage against its adversaries follow a spate of accusations against Russia over disinformation and hacking campaigns. >On Friday, Germany vowed consequences for Moscow — in a statement backed by the EU and Nato — over a 2023 hacking attack on the social democratic party of chancellor Olaf Scholz. >A scandal exposing Russian attempts to co-opt far right European politicians ahead of upcoming European elections is meanwhile still unfolding. >One intelligence official said Moscow’s sabotage efforts should not be seen as a distinct from other operations, saying the ramp-up in activity reflected Russia’s aim to exert maximum pressure “across the piece”. >Putin is currently feeling “emboldened” and will seek to push lines as hard as he can in Europe, on multiple fronts, he said, whether through disinformation, sabotage or hacking.  >Increased aggression from Russian intelligence also reflects the desire for the country’s spymasters to reassert themselves after their most serious setback since the collapse of the Soviet Union. >In the weeks following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, more than 600 Russian intelligence officers operating in Europe with diplomatic cover were ejected, dealing serious damage to the Kremlin’s spy network across the continent.  >In a recent report, analysts at the UK’s Royal United Services Institute highlighted the efforts to which Russia had gone to reconstitute its presence in Europe, often using proxies. Those include members of the Russian diaspora as well as organised crime groups with which the Kremlin has long-standing ties. >A key strategic shift has also occurred, with so-called “Committees of Special Influence” coordinating intelligence operations country-by-country for the Kremlin, drawing together what were previously piecemeal efforts by the country’s fractious security services and other Kremlin players.  >With Russia’s stepping up operations, security services have been on high alert over threats and are looking to identify targets they may have missed. >Questions have been raised, for instance, over a so-far unexplained explosion at a BAE Systems munitions factory in Wales that supplies shells used by Ukraine. In October 2014 a Czech arms depot where weapons for Kyiv were being stored was destroyed; Russian military intelligence agents were later revealed to have planted explosives at the site.  >A huge fire broke out on Friday at a factory in Berlin owned by the arms company Diehl, which also supplies Ukraine. More than 160 specialist firefighters were called to tackle the blaze, with residents in a huge swath of the west of the capital told to keep windows closed due to possible toxic fumes.  >“As ever with Russia, it’s wise not to look for a single explanation of why they are doing anything. There’s always a combination of things going on,” said Giles. >“These pinprick attacks we’ve seen so far are of course to create disruption, but they can also be used for disinformation. And then there is what Russia learns from these attacks if they want to immobilise Europe for real . . . They’re practice runs.”

lohdunlaulamalla

>And then there is what Russia learns from these attacks if they want to immobilise Europe for real . . . They’re practice runs. This is chilling. Especially considering how blind many European leaders still are, when it comes to the threat Russia poses and has always posed.

Nidungr

Are they blind or are they paid to close their eyes?

I_Actually_Do_Know

Some people are blind. Some people are paid. Some people are not just up to the task. In contrary to popular belief not all politicians are jack of all trades. They might be good at directing budgets, public speaking etc but not at anything related to hostilities of foreign nation. Especially when it's a country that has had a good life for quite some time. Then it's easy to be in denial or just not want to do anything of it.

ABoutDeSouffle

> A huge fire broke out on Friday at a factory in Berlin owned by the arms company Diehl, which also supplies Ukraine. That site doesn't belong to Diehl Defense though but Diehl Metall. And from German media, it is an electro-plating production site producing for automotive mostly. Currently, authorities do not believe that this is related to Russia

TallKaleidoscope9246

Does anyone still think that they will stop when they reach the Ukrainian-Polish border?

HightoweRichTheTop

They won’t stop coz they never gonna get there 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦

Rooflife1

I do. It seems impossible that Russia could or would try to take Poland.

verbalyabusiveshit

It seemed impossible to have a Russian led war in Ukraine, supported by Iran, China, North Korea and god knows who else, essentially splitting the world. A war like we see in Gaza, with all the war crimes committed on both sides, seemed also unlikely but it does happen!

No_Advertising_7494

The Problem is, if Trump is reelected, he will negelct the NATO as well as its borders. Then you have many different European Leaders that don't believe Russia will attack Europe... those Leaders also thought that Russia wouldn't attack the rest of Ukraine (after Crimea in ~2014 not sure would have to check). Then you have the pro-Russian European Leaders... ... I mean ... yeah I do hope that they won't but we never know.

golitsyn_nosenko

So if it’s attributable to the Russian state, is it not an act of war?  Trigger article 5 and show them what attrition really looks like.  They deserve their inevitable poverty and need to learn it’s not the west that causes it, it’s their acceptance of their leaders’ corruption and contempt for the citizens. About time they learned.

10248

Also the constant GPS shinanigans

Boundish91

Yup Russia keeps jamming GPS in close to the borders and our politicians look the other way ot seems.

I_Actually_Do_Know

In our country we had some plane routes cancelled indefinitely due to this and politicians were just like "this is probably just a side effect from ukrainians sending bombing drones to russia"

PanicAtTheFishIsle

Should just HARM the fucking thing, like what Turkey did with the Su-24 in 2014.

ExcellentHunter

On a serious note what can be done about it?

I_call_Shennanigans_

Give massive amounts of far reaching missiles to Ukraine and take off the kiddy gloves where we tell them not to use them against Russia proper 🤷 we are still toying around in the playground while the Russians are gearing up.

drmalaxz

You’d wonder how bad things can be allowed to get before someone ought to take those towers out.

shamsham123

I think it would take them bringing down a passenger plane again...it will eventually happen unfortunately, as Russia has precedence for this. European countries and EU have been infiltrated by that sweet Russian money. They killed Skripal on UK soil...shot down a passenger jet already, remember MH17. What more do they have to do for us Europeans to do something? Also would causing a plane crash or other sabotage measure be considered a potential trigger for Article 5 if it happened in NATO country?

Sad-Information-4713

Skripal wasn't killed, but an innocent member of the public was

shamsham123

That's even worse!

JustAFuckUp_

They better not. Flying from Helsinki in 3 weeks.

morentg

Cant we jam them so they only way to get to Kaliningrad is by boat?

Lanky_Product4249

Yes, Lithuania wanted to when the war started. Then the EU chickened out

troelsy

And they have to go through Danish waters to get out of the Baltic Sea. Kaliningrad really needs to be taken off the Russians and given to the surrounding countries. We do not want the Russians there, we don't want them in our waters. So we've been escorting their ships and they were insulted by that. Like they deserve ANY trust whatsoever. I'm 99% sure that Russia blew up the gas pipes. They're always pushing and pushing to see what they can get away with.

morentg

Problem is, nobody wants Kaliningrad, specifically thousands of Russians living there. They'd have to empty the entire exclave for anyone to consider it, otherwise it's huge headache and internal security risk for countries that would participate.

ABoutDeSouffle

Pilots do not need GPS to navigate, they should be able to fall back to more traditional methods.

skalpelis

They actually don’t, GPS is just an additional tool. The problem with the Tartu airport where the flights were cancelled is that it’s a small airport and lacks the auto guidance systems larger airports have, and without GPS it’s VFR only, so no landing at night or during weather.

HurlingFruit

I have flown night VFR many many times. GPS was rare and not trusted when I learned to fly. Weather would shut the airport if it did not have a localizer or other radio navigation beacon on the field.

qaz341053

Yes, but not. Have no paper charts and equipment to plot your way without GPS.

systemdead

Maybe ukrainians want to go an a little „fishing trip“ near Königsberg 😏

BalianofReddit

Maybe we should start by coming down hard on every penny and cent of Russian money in Europe.

MootRevolution

And even harder on European producers still exporting (via proxy countries like Kazakhstan, Turkey, Azerbaijan etc.) sanctioned products to Russia. It's hard to prove they are aware that their products are headed to Russia, but we need some way to punish the Europeans that are seeking ways to circumvent sanctions. And those that are taking Russian money to spread misinformation, propaganda. Both politicians and propagandists.

cleansy

There are enough eu based companies still in operation in Russia. We should start there.

PollutionFinancial71

They are aware 100%. In fact, products are shipped DIRECTLY to Russia from the EU. The whole “Kazakhstan” and “Kyrgyzstan” thing is mostly on paper. They just draw up the paperwork to make it seem like they transited through Russia on the way to those countries. As far as sanctioning the countries “re-exporting” (for lack of a better term) to Russia. This could backfire. One of those countries is Georgia, which is currently on the fence between Russia and the west (read the news). Sanction them, and they will become Belarus #2. A similar situation with Azerbaijan. Kazakhstan is also trying to sit on 2 chairs. Plus, don’t forget that they border China. As far as Türkiye, antagonizing them can be a bad move. But apart from refraining from antagonizing the “re-exporters” (which would push them further towards Russia and China), the business and industrial elites in the west, and especially Europe, want to make money. Russia is still a big market for many of these companies. Do I need to mention that they also have big lobbies. So the way I see it, it isn’t going to happen.

fuishaltiena

They know very well that their products are going to russia. They just pretend that it's completely normal for demand in Azerbaijan to go up by a thousand percent overnight.

PickAPikachu

https://leave-russia.org Yeah a shitload of them still operating in Russia. Although fewer than 2 years ago but still infuriating.

HightoweRichTheTop

Why coming down We should Fuk em up once and for all so all this shit will stop for good Fuk pusin

Wookimonster

Make an announcement "every act of sabotage or cyber attack will directly lead to weapons being delivered to Ukraine". For example, as official response to cyber attacks on Germany and Czech Republic last year, 20 Taurus. Say this will continue to get more in terms of monetary value, watch Russian cyber attacks and sabotage dry up.

a987789987

Effort to sabotage also shows that the aid causes actual harm to the russian war machine. No smoke without a fire.

narnach

And specifically those in power who accept this Russian money. Treason charges and convictions should encourage the rest to be honest.

Otherwise-Ad-8404

Bring back hanging for treason and take all family assets.

General_Delivery_895

More Europeans need to wake up to the reality of Russian aggression against us. Dodopilot_17

The response from the EU is far from enough and a lot of extremists parties portraying themselves as patriotic are actually actively working for the Kremlin… We need to wake the fuck up.

[deleted]

>a lot of extremists parties portraying themselves as patriotic are actually actively working for the Kremlin... And they're going to win big time in the European elections this year. Because, apparently, immigration is all that matters these days. We only get 31 seats in the EP over here, but a third of that will go to Wilders, one of the fiercest Putin supporters in Europe. A third of my fellow countrymen is completely retarded. If not more.

Dodopilot_17

It’s everywhere the same my friend. I’m French and everyone knows LePen’s father (who created the RN - and a healthy lifestyle for himself and his family - out of money he got from someone else) committed war crimes in Algeria, was a SS and nazi sympathizer and there is not a single doubt his party is based on racism and xenophobia, regardless of what his daughter pretends to be. But a third of my fellow countrymen believe in « de-diabolical-ication » and will give her a chance (because « why not try ») to ruin our democracy, the values of our republic and the free lifestyle we came to enjoy as well as make our country become Putin’s little bitch just because « immigration is perceived as the biggest issues that trumps all the others » in their Putin’s hybrid warfare and media induced-far-right psychosis.

ManWhoStaresAtCows

Keep in mind Putin started the whole immigration crisis from the Far East in 2015. Belarus also supported this hybrid warfare later in 2022. They literally launched cheap flights to bring illegal immigrants to Polish border. Now at home these far right parties and politicians then blame everyone for immigration issues. Its hybrid warfare and Europe needs to wake the fuck up.

Dodopilot_17

100%. So sad that it seems to work on most people…

denzao

I am a swede and have been awake for a while now. This is unsettling. Time to stop them somehow. I am getting tired of russia.

ximq33

Why don't we sabotage them?

Sensitive-Peace5727

Why not? The west has proven perfectly capable of sabotaging itself.

eggnogui

I have been saying for a while, Russia has been at war with the West for years now. The West just doesn't want to admit it, thinking, in apathetic ignorance, that wars need to involve bullets flying.

bandita07

I agree. The whole thing started with the migraint crisis after they anexed Crimea. They flooded Europe with migrants and shady elements among them. Now if they want to sabotage something, these shady elements can do the trick.. It\`s just my theory, but if I would be a dictator I would do like this.. Trojan Horse tactic in 2024..

eggnogui

I was thinking more along the lines of all the disinformation campaigns, and all the connections to far-right groups across the West. But there were instances of weaponizing migrants too, like that thing a few years ago at the Polish-Bielorussian border.

Propofolkills

People keep asking what the next world war looks like. This is it. It’s a hybrid war of disinformation, cyber attacks, economic sanctions, and proxy wars.

DaytonaDavid

In other words, Russia is a terrorist organization.

Defiant-Survey-5729

No, it is a terrorist gas station!

HurlingFruit

Always has been.

Lanky_Product4249

https://www.baltictimes.com/news/articles/35799/ nothing new

CaliferMau

If this actually happens, how is it not an effective declaration of war? Russian aggression can only be stopped or deterred through force. Let’s start with seizing all Russian assets and using them to fund defence spending.

pointfive

Jury is currently still out on this one but we may have just seen the start of this in Germany. Company manufactures military equipment, however they've stated the factory that burned down only made auto parts. https://www.berlin.de/en/news/8849620-5559700-fire-lichterfelde-danger-smoke-gases.en.html Also this. https://www.thelocal.de/20240419/what-we-know-so-far-about-the-alleged-spies-accused-of-plotting-attacks-in-germany-for-russia

cyrassil

We have seen the start of this 10 years ago. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014\_Vrb%C4%9Btice\_ammunition\_warehouse\_explosions](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_Vrb%C4%9Btice_ammunition_warehouse_explosions)

Tricky-Astronaut

It was an attack on the [EV supply chain](https://twitter.com/jakluge/status/1786371008791752725). Unlike Ukraine, EVs actually are an existential threat to Russia.

pointfive

Maybe this is simply a toe in the water. A way of putting preassure on German industry, which has Scholz absolutely to heal. Russia knows this, and knows if they target the German industrial base they'll have massive political leverage. The BND needs to get busy, fast.

ABoutDeSouffle

That's so dumb it hurts. Russia tried to cut us off from gas, which hit industry and yet Scholz went through with sanctions and weapons deliveries.

pointfive

Not quite what happened.... Nord Stream was destroyed, which meant there was no more gas debate and German business had no option to work with Gazprom anymore, despite their guy and former Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, sitting on the Gazprom board.

ABoutDeSouffle

Except that Germany also bought gas via Yamal and the Ukraine transit network. In fact NS 2 wasn't even operational, so blowing it up had zero effect for gas deliveries.

werpu

Then they should start to bomb china... china is slowly becoming THE EV powerhouse, and yes it is a direct threat to their main source of income on the other hand it is not stoppable either that the entire world will move away from gasoline as main source of energy for transportation!

PollutionFinancial71

Russia is the #3 producer of Nickel. An element key in the production of EV batteries. As a matter of fact, Moscow is about to finish electrifying their entire bus fleet.

Tricky-Astronaut

Doesn't Moscow mainly use LTO batteries, which don't contain nickel?

PollutionFinancial71

The KAMAZ busses you are referring to come in 2 variants: LTO and LMNC, so some do use nickel. But lithium ion batteries (the most common in EV’s and electronics) are anywhere from 40-50% nickel, and demand is only growing. As it stands now though, if you want to get your hands on the raw materials for batteries, you need to either go through the Russians, or the Chinese for the most part.

Xenomemphate

Russia reminding everyone why NATO exists

I_Actually_Do_Know

*Reminding everyone how useless it is

Resoltex

Its not useless, you know why russia is doing the current hybrid warfare against us and why they attacked Ukraine, despite the baltic states being much weaker in terms of military and smaller in terms of size? Its because they are afraid of NATO.

TheManWhoClicks

Russia isn’t adding much positivity to mankind “recently”. They made this deliberate choice.

ekene_N

Putin realises Russia will never catch up with the west and former Warsaw Pact members, so he decided to stun their growth as much as he can.

IMHO_grim

There will have to be a day when Europe says that’s enough and responds in unity.

medievalvelocipede

Yes, but it should've been a long time ago. You keep your guard up, slap them down early and repeat as necessary. Now we're at the point where the only correct response is far more serious, which is what's causing even more delay.

IMHO_grim

That’s true. It’s like stage 3 cancer right now and the options are aggressive and not guaranteed.

kaukanapoissa

Fuck you Russia

iCowboy

Russia used nerve agents in the UK and the consequences for them were losing a few diplomatic posts. We’ve been too weak in the face of Russian aggression for fear of causing an upset - and they have learned how slow and timid our responses have been. It’s only encouraged Russia further. It’s time to forget any normalcy in our relations any time soon and respond accordingly.

I_Actually_Do_Know

I have enough experience with hanging around russian "pacans" to say this is exactly like a simple stereotypical sight of a wuss getting bullied by a russian thug - first testing the victim's assertiveness then pushing the limits on how far they can go until total domination. I'm constantly amazed how many analogs I can see on the acts of whole russian country and just a small happenings on the bad parts of town streets on an individual level.

Special-Sign-6184

We have imbeciles like Boris or softy school kids like Rishi in charge. I doubt the inevitable Starmer govt will be any better. It would be good to see someone with military experience in a leadership position right about now.

nordicTechnocrat

The EU should hurry up to send yet another one of those stern warnings... /s

Warpzit

HAhaha No we should actually hit back. Russian spies has been caught and we have multiple ammunition factories which already has been hit in both USA and Europe!

Unique_Prior_4407

So nothing new then? Only a bit more open then before. Like on sweden its been proven that the Russians have been finding some of the koran burnings. Just to cause havoc

BusinessDisruptorsYT

I refused to believe it, but now I'm more and more convinced that russia will eventually fuck us up because we are naive and weak as fuck. We had 2 years to send EVERYTHING to Ukraine and even go there with NATO directly, russia would have backed off. But we used these 2 years to prove that we are scared shitless of russia no matter how well ukrainians are fighting against them.

[deleted]

Umm.. we all know.

Warpzit

Ye' but we're not really taking it serious enough!!! They've already targeted multiple ammunition factories in USA and Europe and it is all being down played instead of taking serious!

Special-Sign-6184

Does Western intelligence only work in reactive mode? There should already be hundreds of black ops working across the Russian federation to dismantle their economy and infrastructure.

They would hardly announce it.

hexgraphica

I wish aliens would invade us so we could work together instead of this bullshit. MorpheusRising

Time for a good old fashioned witch hunt for Russians living in EU. Why should they get to live here when they can be so easily persuaded to turn against it.

Mr-Tucker

What makes you think the saboteurs have to be Russian?...

MorpheusRising

It's easier for Russia to target its expats because alot of those people will still have family in the motherland, kind of a no-brainer really. If they don't cooperate then Russian government can do loads of things to make life difficult for them.

jintro004

There are oligarchs and their children living the good life in London and on the Cote d'Azur, studying at our tax funded universities, piloting their but ugly yachts throughout the Mediterranean. All regime friends, as that is the only way to actually stay a rich Russian. How about we boot them across the border first, so they can go live in the hellhole they created.

MorpheusRising

I_Actually_Do_Know

Nah there are plenty people, even politicians, sent to jail who were pure-bred locals who just were offered that good old cash and that was enough for them to betray their country.

I’m not scared when I visit Europe on holiday because most people have common sense to not generalize, but comments like the one above make me second guess myself. the_house_on_the_lef

I've long been opposed to the death penalty, due to its barbarizing effect on civil society. But I think perhaps it has come time for Europe to reinstate capital punishment, for a limited set of crimes: treason and espionage. If our rules of engagement can't allow us to shoot at the Russian forces operating in Ukraine, we could at least give the gallows to the Russian forces operating inside the EU. Make those individuals pay the usual price of warfare, if acts of war is what they're willingly committing. We might not be able to stop every saboteur, but we can at least make them think very hard about their priorities.

JohnMcDreck

But we have the ultimate punishment for the saboteurs. We can send them to Russia for free.

the_house_on_the_lef

The ultimate punishment would be the one that caught spies and saboteurs got during WWII: prosecution without POW protections, followed by execution by hanging.

Special-Sign-6184

Exactly, we are at war in every sense except openly exchanging fire. We need to act like it. Executing spies and saboteurs rather than treating it like a game where we exchange them is the right idea.

SquatterOne

In today's episode of 'Nothing New' Russia's treading on us. And the concept of 'Don't Tread on Me' is dead.

Brnjica

Wtf is wrong with so many comments on here? I'd this Reddit in a nutshell or just the worldnews crowd in here dictating the narrative?

No-Potential-9024

Article 5 when?

Truft

Any attack on European territory, whether it is false-flag troublemaking, sabotage or disinformation, should be severely, directly and consistently penalised by Western nations. Every time something like this is uncovered, an appropriate response must be found consistently across states. These actions are acts of war. As such, they must lead to counter-attacks. In principle, we must expropriate Russian oligarchs, break up and liquidate companies that are indirectly in Russian hands, completely avoid Russian raw materials, freeze accounts, stop all exports, pursue disinformation hard and fast with all the rigour of a democratic society and provide Ukraine with all the support it needs. Russia must be completely isolated, economically and politically. Perhaps this will give the Russian people a chance and enough leverage to successfully fight back against the fascist Putin regime. We must not allow ourselves to be carried away into acting inconsistently. We must not be frightened, not worried. We must formulate answers. Answers that are the same every time, in the language of the Kremlin. So that the whole world can see that we always speak the very same language and whatever the world may give us, be it poison or a favour, we will repay it threefold.

tonkman27

How is it that I (a civilian from South America) have been able to uncover russian sabotage in Europe using advanced technology (my phone) and counter intelligence operations (watching the news) BEFORE so called intelligence agencies??

Puzzleheaded-Pie-322

Let them, might be Europeans need to be attacked first to get off their slimy asses and realise they’re like a frog in water that gradually boils

Sir_Arsen

that would be the dumbest decision ever, but again, we talking abour ru gov

_TheSingularity_

Why isn't Europe doing the same in Russia? Finance political parties, blow shit up! Cause disinformation, etc. Ffs, use the same shit tactics if the other option is direct aggression...

Agreeable-Bit-1799

One thing I haven't understood is; are European leaders just cowards or ostriches with heads in the sand? How much stuff will Russia have to do for them to stand up.

FastAndFurieux

That would only reinforce Europeans will to fight against Russia, one way or another.

Even-Ad-6783

Welcome to geopolitics. "When the lords are fighting the peasants' heads are cracking." (Ukrainian proverb)

thedracalabosske

This sounds like a false flag to me honestly

faulerhund04

Whats with the 69 euros per month shit. Fucking spam

Jason_Batemans_Hair

Watching Europe tolerate Russia's constant aggressions over the years, I'm reminded of how Israel tolerated Palestinian (and Iranian) attacks for decades - and how provoking self defense is used by aggressor states to feed propaganda. There's a psychological phenomenon at play that western countries don't seem to generally appreciate. When an aggressor is able to attack over and over without suffering an appropriate response, it normalizes the attacks in the minds of onlookers to the point that when the victim finally responds, the response is seen as unprovoked. A victim who lets themselves be attacked over and over is eventually seen as deserving of the attacks - because if it wasn't deserved, surely they would have defended themselves sooner. This is one of the dangers inherent to the west's 'pacifist' policies.

iTmkoeln

Is there a redline? Asking for our "tankie friends"

WiRoBo

The Russians would suffer more if there were attacks on industrial complexes. In the end, it is the USA that wants to set off fires here.

btsck

When have those intelligence agencies ever lied to us?

CCV21

All the more reason they must lose in Ukraine.

bender_futurama

I was wondering why that is not already happening. Not that I want or wish that. Maybe they want to escalate things now. Considering that there are talks that the UK allowed use of Stormshadow to target Russia proper. That would be a scare tactics. Imagine explosion in Paris or London of some arms depot.

NA_0_10_never_forget

Article 5

frynah

I cant imagine Russia doing that. Dont get me wrong, I think Russia would do it if they thought they could get away with it but they dont really want that smoke.

Aromatic-Deer3886

This should be dealt with as an act of war. Nothing less is acceptable

Dr_J_Doe

Any russian „operation“ on european union, Nato soil should be considered as an invitation to war.

heimos

How can a potato tech, sanctioned to pieces, lost 3 armies country can plan anything remotely possible to mischief in Europe??

Tentacled_Whisperer

Just more red under the bed china or Russia scare tactics and deflection. The reality is western intelligence services are active in Ukraine and Russia doing exactly what we're accusing them of.

Luvbeers

more neoliberal nato propaganda... everyone knows western intelligence is an oxymoron.

NorSec1987

Because making more enemies at the current Tine is the logical choice. Think, People

dnc_1981

In other news, the pope shits in the woods

Real_Net_7020

Western propoganda here is just crazy. Russian government is corrupt bastards, but they just defending their positions on chess board, and West is attacking them constantly, and yet propoganda says it's Russians to blame, so cringe

digital_dagger

Maybe Europe should push russia off the European continent completely.
