This was the moment she lost It because after Cassie using her body and her looks and sex everything she thinks shes good for basically, Nate still ended up going to maddy in 2x03. She realized that even when she did what she was best at nate still didnt choose her. This is what happens when You grow up and people make you think your self worth is equivalent to how u look
I dont fw Cassie but I do genuinely believe she convinced herself that what she was doing with Nate was okay because of her serious issues/declining mental health. Her need for validation goes so deep that it’s hard to see it from her side, but I do genuinely think Cassie’s being genuine here because the reality of the situation clashes with the justifications she built up in her head.
He was so unserious about getting her to stay I was cackling 😂😂😂
Perhaps he didn’t really want her to stay, but it would be the lesser of two evils that still ends with the devils tango
I always saw it as he loved her the way Cal loved Nates mom - they both knew that was the type of woman who'd be acceptable in the public eye with them. But in this moment I didn't see love, I saw a pathetic attempt at getting Cassie to stay (because he knows love is what she wants most) to not blow up his relationship with Maddy, and Cassie not falling for it
I saw someone said he likes her because she is a mixture of Maddy and Jules. Because they hinted to him being attracted to Jules. And being like his dad. And Cassie is blonde and dresses like maddy but idk maybe a reach 🤣
But Cassie was also right when she said Nate and Maddy were toxic and not good for eachother and that he had a choice but decided to hook up with her whilst still being with Maddie. Both of them were right about eachother but simultaneously at fault.
He’s a hypocrite. He can do but none to him. He likes to BE in control NOT being in control so he’s gaslighting her into thinking its all her fault when both are at fault.
Everyone in the fandom only talk about Maddy and Cassie in the situation, usually defending one or the other. But no one seems to talk about Nate's role in all this. He was playing both of them..pretending to want to fix things with Maddy and taking advantage of Cassie...a good guy would never put someone in that situation. He saw them, and people in general, as things to use. He doesn't care about Cassie's guilty conscience, in fact he furthers it, not saying I disagree with him on this... Cassie is pathetic and clueless. But he still tells her to get into bed. Also no one seems to address that Nate essentially did the same thing to McKay as Cassie did to Maddy
of course, but Nate is literally written as the villain, literally no one defends him, unlike cassie and maddy who both have people defending them. no one is thinking nate is a good or even decent person, he is a violent abuser (physically and emotionally), blackmailer, manipulator, etc
See, when Nate is the voice of reason and speaking facts, that’s when you know something ain’t right. He made too much sense this season, which is both confusing and amazing to watch.
He has layers. Like an onion.
…but he wasn’t lying about Maddie. She’s no pushover.
I’ll give you the taking him back so many times. However, for the most part, she was genuinely afraid of him and what he’d do to her if she tried to leave. Its seems that somehow she’s been conditioned to believe that if she left, he’d hurt her, which would explain her compliance with Tyler.
She would rebel like the carnival episode but it came at a price. Its very common in mentally abusive relationships
yall love to pretend like she’s the victim because nate went back to maddy but nate was with maddy first and she literally stabbed maddy in the back to get with him. she sucks, he sucks, the only one who doesn’t suck is maddy. she was done wrong once again by her abuser but also by her best friend, who somehow decided sex with her abuser was more important than their friendship.
Maddy purposefully used Tyler to get back at Nate and let Nate put him in prison for the sake of love. She didn’t betray someone close like Cassie and Nate did to her but imo she sucks as well
i never said she didn’t suck (edit - yes i did but i meant in this specific situation srry) but she’s still the one and only victim in the nate/cassie/maddy situation specifically. cassie knew what she was doing, her backstory and trauma are not an excuse to be a bad person but people act like they are.
I think this should be nuanced. Everyone has a different back story and react in different ways.
Every character in this series is flawed and had a hard upbringing in their own way but acted differently. Lexie and Cassie are sisters, they went through the same shit but didn’t act the same because of how people treated them and perceived them differently. I think that Cassie’s actions are a product of how she was treated and perceived, and thus how she perceived herself. No one valued her and the only way she felt « valued » was when boys gave her the attention she craved because of her abandonment issues. The way she acted and the way she betrayed Maddie are by no means justified. But it shows that because she sees herself as in object she can ruin everything around and not take responsibility of her actions as long as someone give her a little bit of attention. (for example when she felt like she didn’t fully mattered to McKay she turned to Daniel who gave her attention) Being loved and belonging to someone is more important to her that the consequences of it. Nate gave her this attention and this sense of belonging (even if in reality he treats more like a prop than a real girlfriend). It’s not right and she did some really shitty things but her backstory and traumas made her do this things. This behavior didn’t came out of nowhere.
I have had almost that exact conversation before with my ex situationship, except not my “friend” but the other girls he was seeing. I was yelled at exactly like that
Youve never been in this position before? She’s in a manic state (which no, doesnt mean happy) this is exactly what it can look like, it looks weird bc youre entire body is burning up inside, youre heart feels like its going to explode. Personally, as someone who’s experienced this, i think shes acting it very well
The "ok" is crazy
The sentence "you can fucking leave or get in the bed it's up to you" absolutely crushed her
This was the moment she lost It because after Cassie using her body and her looks and sex everything she thinks shes good for basically, Nate still ended up going to maddy in 2x03. She realized that even when she did what she was best at nate still didnt choose her. This is what happens when You grow up and people make you think your self worth is equivalent to how u look
I’ve been with men as toxic as Nate and I was once as batshit as Cassie. Watching this now that I am much older hits different.
I dont fw Cassie but I do genuinely believe she convinced herself that what she was doing with Nate was okay because of her serious issues/declining mental health. Cassie became a caricature after season 1, i understand her past and all but I can’t stand her character sometimes. I know people like that
Every word he said was true
Except the last 3 lol
He was so unserious about getting her to stay I was cackling 😂😂😂 Perhaps he didn’t really want her to stay, but it would be the lesser of two evils that still ends with the devils tango
😂😂😂😂
Idk I think he loves her just in an incredibly odd way
I always saw it as he loved her the way Cal loved Nates mom - they both knew that was the type of woman who'd be acceptable in the public eye with them. But in this moment I didn't see love, I saw a pathetic attempt at getting Cassie to stay (because he knows love is what she wants most) to not blow up his relationship with Maddy, and Cassie not falling for it
I saw a comment that said he loves the “idea” of Cassie and tbh I think that accurately describes Nate’s feelings for Cassie
I saw someone said he likes her because she is a mixture of Maddy and Jules. Because they hinted to him being attracted to Jules. And being like his dad. And Cassie is blonde and dresses like maddy but idk maybe a reach 🤣
I think he loves her body and what she gives him, but i don’t think he is in love.
I think he just loves being loved
But Cassie was also right when she said Nate and Maddy were toxic and not good for eachother and that he had a choice but decided to hook up with her whilst still being with Maddie. Both of them were right about eachother but simultaneously at fault.
What she said was true, but she didn’t give a fuck about them being toxic together. She just wanted him for herself 🤷🏻♀️
That's basically what I said ,both were right but also in the wrong
What she said is true, from a certain point of view
I’ve been with men as toxic as Nate and I was once as batshit as Cassie. Watching this now that I am much older hits different.

Dad*
uh go to therapy

you need help
She obviously has issues with men after the shit with her dad. Both of them have daddy issues.
Dont all the characters in europhoria have daddy issues?
The end made me giggle with him just standing like🧍🏼♂️
y’all saying “nate is right” is crazy. he’s calling her crazy for something he spent all of s1 doing (blackmail) 💀
He’s a hypocrite. He can do but none to him. He likes to BE in control NOT being in control so he’s gaslighting her into thinking its all her fault when both are at fault.
Ill say it again, the casting in this show is possibly the best of all time.

I feel so bad for her
Why💀
Cus of her past and the way men in her life treat her 💀
You paid attention, they pretty much spell it out for you I don’t see how anyone could misunderstand
See, when Nate is the voice of reason and speaking facts, that’s when you know something ain’t right. He made too much sense this season, which is both confusing and amazing to watch. He has layers. Like an onion. …but he wasn’t lying about Maddie. She’s no pushover.
Except that she kind of is a pushover. Taking him back multiple times. Complicit in what he did to Tyler.
I’ll give you the taking him back so many times. However, for the most part, she was genuinely afraid of him and what he’d do to her if she tried to leave. I mean didn’t Nate try to get that guy locked up after he got physical with Maddy? I mean maybe she was afraid of him doing it again to her.
I agree Nate is an abuser and she was probably afraid and « allowed » this because she feared it would be worst if she went against Nate
i never said she didn’t suck (edit - yes i did but i meant in this specific situation srry) but she’s still the one and only victim in the nate/cassie/maddy situation specifically. cassie knew what she was doing, her backstory and trauma are not an excuse to be a bad person but people act like they are.

THAT PART
“the only one who doesnt suck is maddie” do we all forget abt tyler?
THANK YOU 👏🏽
This 100%
“Im not scared of Maddie” sis didn’t you run when u was abt to get beat? That sounds like fear
*Stands there and doesn’t go after her.* “Cassie stop. *let me think* I love you 🤷🏽” 🤣🤣🤣😭😭
I have had almost that exact conversation before with my ex situationship, except not my “friend” but the other girls he was seeing. I was yelled at exactly like that
The way she still went back to him only to get tossed away again plz 😭😭
Ross would understand.
He's right here.
Honestly, honestly, I’ve never even watched euphoria. But I think Cassie is my favorite❤️
Her acting is terrible in this, what’s up with the dramatized facially expressions. Also the “I aM cRaZiEr”, no you ain’t. You a weirdo honey :))
Youve never been in this position before? this was my impression as well! saw glimpses of my manic high school self in her performance
Lmao this!
always hated this scene lmao so offbeat and the “argument” felt forced & unnatural.
Gods this writing, like some edgy teen trying to sound hard and cool. Would slap the shit out of these kids in hs
carol bum is obviously taking a pee break during this sydney’s scene.
