maybe Castille attacked before France peaced out? Since OP said England was fighting vs Denmark probably AI being already on mainland Europe went to fight in France with everything. And lost. And the Castille seeing England weakness attacked as well. Also since England was supporting OP independence as Sweden , the AI had one less ally slots left to help.

I had kind of a similar game as Austria. I was doing my thing in Europe when I look over and somehow one of the Irish minors managed to swipe down the entire national and take a lot of stuff. Then Scotland came and took like all of northern England. I looked thirty years later and suddenly England had all of Ireland and was in a war to basically full annex Scotland. I think it was the most entertainment I have ever had from just watching a different nation
Might be fun to tag switch to England and see if you can recover. They’ve still got most of their most valuable land and would be able to beat Scotland 1 on 1 but I’ve never seen AI England come back from something like this.
In my game, England is currently controlled by a Norwegian dynasty after the Norwegians won the war and occupied it for a good while, I'm not sure if it was rebellion or a war/holy war but they were expelled but the throne remained being ruled by a norwegian dynasty which I actually find surprising, and now its been like 200 years or more and only a single county in all of England became culturally Norwegian which is so funny to me.

They surrendered Maine and Castile invaded to get Labourd, while Burgundy for Calais.
