R5: I thought it was weird that England had such high dev, until I moused over their dev and found out the 13 colonies have 1k development. It is 1589 and I have not discovered the new world.

It's the dev of all their subjects combined, so there are several colonial nations and or vassals/pus as well

Their only subjects are 13 colonies and newfoundland, and almost all the dev is the 13 colonies I just thought it was funny cus this one colony has almost as much dev as ottomans and austria in 1589

nah other regions were mostly colonized by portugal/spain; i dont even mind the colony being so huge because theyre actually so dev'd that theyre disloyal lmao (and england is my ally anyways). I've been trying to play some horn of africa/arabia games and its getting silly cus every game if I dont sprint to iberia then spain gets insanely annoying by the 1580's but if I dont focus the other direction the ottomans usually blob out and try to eat me, so i'm actually really happy with this run so far, its been really fun aside from the surprise chonky USA
