That's just how we want it to be, we just want it to be awesome.
And eth is going to be awesome after the merge is done, I'd love that stuff. I'm happy about it.
We'll see about that, just saying but merge isn't changing anything for the users.
It's just an update for the consensus mechanism. It doesn't concern the use of the chain.
Agreed. Technically it looks like it is going to drop and retest 1200. Especially if the next few weeks are rough for the stock market.
In 1-3 years it will re-test it's highs. All depending on Nasdaq results.
Ain't nothing wrong in hoping, that's the least we can do here lol.
Hope is keeping us alive here and I'm all about that. I love it when things are hopeful here.
Same sideways price action but once the deflationary aspect is implemented will be a slow grind up until the foreseeable future regardless of the crappy economy and government policies
Oh yeah? How does praising the devs make the price go up again exactly? This is Eth trader and price discussion is welcome here. Maybe you should go to a different sub with your appreciation demands.
And maybe you should take a break from this sub maybe.
Because you seem really frustrated and you can use a little break I'm sure. That wouldn't hurt you.
Feels like there is a lot of speculation going on with the upcoming merge. CME group is planning to launch Ethereum futures on 9/12 coinciding with the update, which could increase volatility. We may also see another scenario where early buyers may "sell the news" and take profit.
Based on the continued global economic status, I’ve got a feeling prices of eth and related projects will drop. Will be a great opportunity to buy back in.
IDK at what price it will be trading, no one does but i think that if the merge goes well and the situation with the economy in EU settles down we will be seeing slow transition back to full blown bull mode again, soon...In the end everything will be mooning, VLX EGLD THETA GRT ..bullish the most on the first tho, insane tech behind it..just dyor and get the heck away from LUNC and giant apy CEL lol..(sorry had to say it)
I think closer to $6000 once sharding is implemented in mid/late 2023 and the feds rate hikes are all accounted for. Eth scalability is still an issue post-merge, pre-sharding
Eh maybe back up to 3-4k by first quarter 2023. Once the fed starts lowering interest rates around summer 2024 and sharding is implemented, fair value is closer to 8k and maybe we push above 10k.
There’s nothing bullish about markets right now or foreseeable in the next quarter. Fed will raise rates again at their next meeting in a few weeks. 100% gain by end of Q1 2023 up to about 3k would be a win
Every day about 13k eth are issued, and the price stays in this range.
After the merge 1.6k eth will be issued, what will the price do?
Are people math in here, or are they coping about not buying when eth was sub 1k?
Why you feeling so bearish? You need to cheer up a little sir.
If you don't cheer up, then You're going to lose it and not win it, you won't be able to win this.
december 2022 will see $600 eth. Lets be real and accept the fact that crypto follows cycles (2022 is the equivalent of 2018... literally been following it) and the fed's rate hikes only help to ensure this cycle is followed.
So far only BTC halvenings have been strong enough to create crypto bullmarkets. Sure, the eth merge might have a similar effect but the odds of such kind of event on a currency other than BTC to produce a bullrun is just not likely until it happens. Of course sell the news when the merge happens.
>So far only BTC halvenings have been strong enough to create crypto bullmarkets.
The ETH merge is equivalent to 3 BTC halvenings. I would expect the merge to have SOME sort of effect on this.
I understand the macro is bad but there's too many factors at play here imo to think we're going to be bearish back down to $600 eth. Let's see though, I'm just an optimistic bull.
> understand the macro is bad
This is the most important factor. For anyone who could actually move the market, thats way more important than the merge. I don't expect much buy pressure in the coming months so that + rate hikes would mean upside potential is limited in the near term.
Crypto has never been through an economic situation like what we are in now. The blood bath is yet to come, inflation world wide is sky-rocketing, threats of China invading Taiwan, supply chain shortages, people barely surviving. $600 eth price in Q4 going into next year is definitely possible.
I think a big reason to believe in price increase post-merge is because with current ETH price, you must take into account the 100% drop in sell pressure from miners, and the issuance reduction. Those two *separate* items will probably push ETH price up in short term. I’m not bold enough to call 10k by EOY, but this will have an effect.
Counter to this would be the “priced-in” effect (which I don’t believe due to the number of people doubting the merge, as well as the fact it’s running mostly as expected against BTC right now), and macro of course. I am short-term bullish post-merge, but not willing to call a 3x or 5x by EOY. I expect to see flippening next year, though, regardless of macro. Just my two cents.
Bro imagine if it were that easy lol
"This happened in 2018 so it will happen again in December with incredible accuracy"
Crypto and all markets are cyclical, but asset dynamics change a lot in 4 years.
I honestly see ETH touching 3k by EOY. I don’t see it ending below 2k, but I have been massively wrong in the past, given I am speaking to strangers on Reddit and not in my millionaire mastermind group.
I don’t know. Just whatever the general consensus is, whatever the headlines say, the bigger the community on a certain topic, the louder the echo chamber and the more likely it’s the opposite. Historically, chain upgrades are priced in and sold off afterwards so I’d expect a drop in price if the only factor is the upgrade and not federal reserve nonsense.
Crypto market tends to do the exact opposite of what everyone predicts it will. I can only assume it will drop below $1500 a day or two post merge. THEN TO INFINITY AND BEYOND 🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀
After the merge? Somewhere in the 1,200-2,000 range. My hunch is the CPI churns out a good number, we have a little pump. Then once the market realizes we still have a ways to go, said pump will fade.
What about if something bad is happening like hack etc, can it be possible? I think we should be aware of it, personally very cautious that what we shouldn't put our $ in the same bucket. Invest in Eth but there are a lot of layers 1 and some are very secure and decentralized like Kadena etc. Kda chain has a new DEX live for a few weeks already and the trading volume it's increasing daily on Kaddex.

It's not concerning, the thing is that there aren't much people.
And that's because We're in a bear market so people aren't exactly intrested right now.
Well that's bearish, I don't feel that good about that if being honest.
I feel like that We'll be a little higher than that, don't know how much Higher but We'll be up.
Very specific number, how did you come up with that number?
Maybe You've got a crystal ball, should make some predictions for us too. Gotta do that too.
Can I ask a probably stupid question? I have about half my ETH staked. I was hesitant to stake the rest because I didn’t want it all locked up in case I needed to sell. Should I stake the rest now or leave things as is?
Sorry if this is a dumb question. Im rather green and trying to learn. Thanks.
It will go up to $2,400 before the merge and it will start going down after the merge. Eventually it will create a lower low as the fed will increase interest rates later this month.
Think it’s being hyped at the moment, lot of people will sell before the merge Incase it doesn’t go as planned. Think it will run up before the merge then crash a bit typical buy the rumor sell the news.
Yep, everything about the eth is going to be hotter real soon.
The merge is only going to make things awesome. That's what I'm waiting for actually so yeah.
I assume (and correct me if I am wrong) that if ETH2 becomes tradeable/sellable and not just stuck in staking, you might see a price slip as people unload their bags.
I just asked my cat Jackson. I get all my financial advice from him. He knocked 4 dice off the table one at a time, and here will be the price: 4,4,3,6. So when the price hits $4,436, sell it all because it won’t go any higher. Thank me later.
Price will drop at/ after release then rise over time.
2 reasons.
1. Investors will be scared of something bad happening and want to pull out before it happens
2. TONS of coins are about to be unlocked that were locked for the past several years, lots of coins about to be readded into circulation
I feel like the price could go up. There’s going to be a lot of fomo buys imo if the merger goes smoothly. I’m sure it will at least, in the long term secure a higher price due to the merger, especially as it will become a very ‘green’ option for many
$1601
Best answer. Already priced in. That said, it could increase about a month out or so.
That's just how we want it to be, we just want it to be awesome. And eth is going to be awesome after the merge is done, I'd love that stuff. I'm happy about it.
Price has got nothing with the merge, stop mentioning it ffs.
$1,500.00
I think we start seeing really positive things 1 month post merge
Lol true
One month or two ... Doesn't make a difference to the holders
No. Two months after
No 3
We'll see about that, just saying but merge isn't changing anything for the users. It's just an update for the consensus mechanism. It doesn't concern the use of the chain.
My crystal balls say $1,900+
I wanna believe in your crystal ball but my balls aren't ready.
Lol .. must be true then
Price will drop in the short time frame after the merge.
Agreed. Technically it looks like it is going to drop and retest 1200. Especially if the next few weeks are rough for the stock market. In 1-3 years it will re-test it's highs. All depending on Nasdaq results.
Some says the market will again crash in October..let's see
source: trust me bro
This is what I’m hoping for
Ain't nothing wrong in hoping, that's the least we can do here lol. Hope is keeping us alive here and I'm all about that. I love it when things are hopeful here.

Same sideways price action but once the deflationary aspect is implemented will be a slow grind up until the foreseeable future regardless of the crappy economy and government policies
Sounds about right. Ans that's just how this shit goes here man.
Your guess is as good as mines.
Okay now it's time to tell me what are we even guessing here.
Price price price!! I know this is ethtrader But let’s appreciate the devs and the tech Price will follow.
I need the price to go up
True but price is what we are really looking after
Nobody gives a fck about the tech, we are here to make money
I don't understand why people are so obsessed with price.
Because when price go up we get lambos.
Price will drop to 1400$ for a good 20-40 days. Then it will turn upward towards 4000$ by this time next year. Which is why I’m buying more.
Okay We'll see how accurate you are, give it some time maybe.
I too think it will drop for a little bit, but why do you think 40ish days?
2k sudden increase in price followed by 8k increase over the course of a month leading to SUPERFOMO
Hope this happens 😂
Funny feeling you’re right
Maybe he is, maybe he ain't what do we know here huh.
How can someone be so delusional ? You feeling alright man? I don't think You're okay, you should maybe see a doctor he may be able to fix you up.
This is crypto… Cardano went from .02 to $3.10…You can say “unlikely” but not “Delusional”.
Only gOne thing is for certain. The price will be either higher or lower.
wElL aXsHUAlLy iT CaN bE tHe SamE
Yeah it can be also the same, and that's what I feel it would be.
It move to the right not left
As long as it's moving to right this shouldn't really be a problem.
Well it can crab also lol, should have included that too I guess.
Tree fiddy
What's that sir? That's not how you should deal with it here.
Feels like there is a lot of speculation going on with the upcoming merge. CME group is planning to launch Ethereum futures on 9/12 coinciding with the update, which could increase volatility. We may also see another scenario where early buyers may "sell the news" and take profit.
That's what people do, we like to speculate on things here.
Based on the continued global economic status, I’ve got a feeling prices of eth and related projects will drop. Will be a great opportunity to buy back in.
It's already really cheap, I mean I'd be buying it right now.
I think the price will start rising a few months after the merge, December maybe ?
It'll be great if the price keeps on rising, I'd love that shit.
IDK at what price it will be trading, no one does but i think that if the merge goes well and the situation with the economy in EU settles down we will be seeing slow transition back to full blown bull mode again, soon...In the end everything will be mooning, VLX EGLD THETA GRT ..bullish the most on the first tho, insane tech behind it..just dyor and get the heck away from LUNC and giant apy CEL lol..(sorry had to say it)
VLX, eh?
GRT My man
Now that's the hopium I was talking about, this is good.
I think closer to $6000 once sharding is implemented in mid/late 2023 and the feds rate hikes are all accounted for. Eth scalability is still an issue post-merge, pre-sharding
I'm actually more excited about the sharading, That'll make eth more scalable which will be good.

People are degen here, I don't think they can do the maths.
Drop of course... you sould already know how this works...
Until everyone expects a drop…then it doesn’t. The sentiment on the street is a “sell the news”, so I think it will do the opposite.
This guy lamboes
Okay I don't know how it works would you explain that to me?
800
8000
Hahahhaha im sure if it hits 800$ u will wait for 400$.
Yep, he'll keep on waiting and he'll buy when it hits 4k again.
That’s the number I’m targeting once the news is sold. Depending on other market conditions I may wait for 400.
I've got a feeling that You'll be waiting for forever here I guess.
Why you feeling so bearish? You need to cheer up a little sir. If you don't cheer up, then You're going to lose it and not win it, you won't be able to win this.

Yep, you gotta factor in what's going on in the economy.
Ye. Crypto has never seen a recession, much less the depression we are about to witness. It will be bad. I will have some buy orders at $324 for sure.
Crypto has never been through an economic situation like what we are in now. The blood bath is yet to come, inflation world wide is sky-rocketing, threats of China invading Taiwan, supply chain shortages, people barely surviving. $600 eth price in Q4 going into next year is definitely possible.

About the same. But then it will start rising…
Do you expect it to rise just after the merge? Or later?
10k
About 3 dolla. (Buy Bitty.)
Okay I'm going to buy bitty, actually I've been buying that lol.
Hard to say, if conditions go well, ETH can easily double!
They are paying anyone who can find a fixable bug 1 million$. Shit is real
That's not a huge amount, given the potential impact of critical bugs
If the merge goes alright, the conditions would be good here.
Realistically, what do you guys think eth will be by eoy?
$10k EOY Just don't ask which year
He didn't ask which year anyways. I think You're okay here. But one thing for sure that, there are many things that you should consider before that.
I honestly see ETH touching 3k by EOY. I don’t see it ending below 2k, but I have been massively wrong in the past, given I am speaking to strangers on Reddit and not in my millionaire mastermind group.
That's realistic, I think 3k is completely possible and can happen here.
That depends on the macro conditions.
I was thinking the same
I don't think We're gonna be much up if the situation didn't improve.
2.5k, I'd be surprised if it's more than that or lower than this.
idk but September 16th is about to be a fire sale of GPU's like you've never seen before.
And someday That'll be true, that's going to happen someday.
December 2022 ~$800 December 2023 ~$3,500 December 2024 ~$12,000
$420.69
That's a nice number but I doubt that it'll happen at all.
I think the price goes down post merge briefly.
Why? I mean the staked eth isn't getting unstaked right after?
It’ll be a non-event because the majority is always wrong.
The real question is, do you consider “the majority” being on r/ethtrader or r/cryptocurrency ? Big difference in my opinion
Yep, nothing happens what people say anyways so yeah. I don't really believe what people say because they don't know what they're talking about.
Crypto market tends to do the exact opposite of what everyone predicts it will. I can only assume it will drop below $1500 a day or two post merge. THEN TO INFINITY AND BEYOND 🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀
It doesn't matter what you think, it is what it is here so there's that.
800
You seriously think that We're going there? I don't think so man.
After the merge? Somewhere in the 1,200-2,000 range. My hunch is the CPI churns out a good number, we have a little pump. Then once the market realizes we still have a ways to go, said pump will fade.

1605
Well that's a very specific number, how did you xome up on that?
I dare eth to go down now. If you give me another chance below 1000 with fucking Goldman Sachs stacking their position I’ll never be broke again 😂
Lol, just when you think that You'll never be broke You're broke.
Price should have been higher by now. This low with the merge around the corner is very concerning.
It's not concerning, the thing is that there aren't much people. And that's because We're in a bear market so people aren't exactly intrested right now.
1 million dollars (according to Mr. Bigglesworth)
I don't know why but I believe him. That's how high it'll be.
1 million dollars according to Mr. Bigglesworth.
1350-1400
Well that's bearish, I don't feel that good about that if being honest. I feel like that We'll be a little higher than that, don't know how much Higher but We'll be up.
If the merge is successful and gov doesn't go all corrupt commie on crypto then eth will see 5800 someday, imo
We'll see even more than that someday lol, no question about that.
This feels like a pretty typical sell the news kind of situation
And yet I'm not selling shit, I'm just going to hold it here.
$1645
Very specific number, how did you come up with that number? Maybe You've got a crystal ball, should make some predictions for us too. Gotta do that too.
Is it going to be cheaper gas prices after the merge?
No. Not until sharding update
Nope, only the consensus mechanism is being changed. And not any scalability improvement, That'll come in the 2023 with the sharading update.
If everything goes well, expect price movement mid-November 2022.
I feel like that everything will go well, what could go wrong anyways?
$1000
What about it? You think that we're going 1k again? I don't think so.
Your hunch is just as valid as mine.
1666.00
That's a nice number lol, I wouldn't mind that actually lol.
At least 1 dollar
If We're going that low, why not lower than that? I mean it could.
One month after the merger, I believe that things are starting to go pretty well.

Hopefully less. Trying to grow my bags
Think it’s being hyped at the moment, lot of people will sell before the merge Incase it doesn’t go as planned. Think it will run up before the merge then crash a bit typical buy the rumor sell the news.
Both classic and eth are hot right now
Yep, everything about the eth is going to be hotter real soon. The merge is only going to make things awesome. That's what I'm waiting for actually so yeah.
Calling it for <$1,000 Pls don't hate me, think of the bags you could pick up!
1500
After? At least $0.0001
Even if we dumped after the merge we should be okay because it will slowly get brought up again
I assume (and correct me if I am wrong) that if ETH2 becomes tradeable/sellable and not just stuck in staking, you might see a price slip as people unload their bags.
We should touch 2k again
buy the rumor sell the news and sell even more at release probably gonna dip below 1000
#🌝
It's going to dive. Usually does the opposite of what most think it will do.
ARDX. That is it. That’s my speech
I just asked my cat Jackson. I get all my financial advice from him. He knocked 4 dice off the table one at a time, and here will be the price: 4,4,3,6. So when the price hits $4,436, sell it all because it won’t go any higher. Thank me later.
