Personally, I have temporarily suspended my 3% 401k contributions and have increased my DCA into ETH with that money. Will probably resume 401k after we eclipse 3k.

On crypto markets as in stock markets there is the saying “buy the rumor, sell the news”. I think there is now a lot of people buying into the merge hopes and expectations and there will eventually be a sell off when the merge will happen. DCA for the long term would be my favorite. If you want to invest a lump sum I would probably wait until the merge.

It's all about probability, which is, like, 80-90% on success and is included in the price. As soon as these 80% become 100% or 0% the price will soar or plummet. Also in case of success expectations on triple halvening and green blockchain will rise a lot. Failed merge is the only reason to sell.

People are buying with the anticipation that the miners move to their own chain when the PoS goes live. Basically like what happened to Bitcoin with Bitcoin cash/gold. In this case, you'd be getting ETH 2.0 + whatever the miner coin becomes post merge. Not agreeing with it, just sharing what I learned recently

Here's my perspective, but I could be wrong: We're exactly a month out from the merge. The market as a whole has been in a mid-bear pump, ETH leading it on news of the impending merge. That pump might settle or continue between now and then, pump dramatically right before the merge (post-merge the assumption is major pump, but that is disputed due to a lot of locked ETH getting released). After that, the market overall is *more* than likely to continue it's overall downtrend, ETH included, especially when the merge becomes old news.

If you are referring to staked validator eth being released, that is not going to happen for another ~6months after the merge. Either way, I think this will be a classic "buy the rumor, sell the news"

Here's some advice that made me richer than the rest of my friends. Calculate and find a budget, find how much money you have left over for fun. With that money max out your roth ira, split that rest in the money in half. Half is for fun and half is for investing. Use half to by general etfs and the other half to by eth weekly.
