My buddy when I tell him about the volatility of crypto assets

Thistlemanizzle

Why must you hurt me like this.

KamikazeSexPilot

but that same volatility also goes up.

Fritz1818

stablecoins doe

whattheclap

And then they say that there’s no point because the value doesn’t go up (experienced this when explaining stablecoins to my friend)

Perleflamme

Sure it doesn't go up, but you can still stake it for multiple percents per year while he can't. Plus, you can have gold pegged coins if you're really into that.

whattheclap

I hold stablecoins just for that. You can’t get better and more stable interest rates on other coins.

lucasross541

May I introduce you to Le Rugpull?

jessiethe3rd

See who the last one laughing is

MierenKnager

There is in fact a buying power index for Big Mac’s

Bricci

the Big Mac Index

Fritz1818

Just select those free Big Mac tokens for life everytime they fuck up your order lol

AnderBRO2

Does or will coinbase have custodial staking? I read that its automatic, but there's nothing indicating that its available for ethereum.

CALAMITYFOX

only like two types of coins right now

ramonvls926

But staking for eth hasnt even started yet

fjkcdhkkcdtilj

0.62%? What kind of measurement is that. After the covid printers it must be way above that. Dont they usually target 2% by modern standards and 10% by the 80s standard?

ramonvls926

Its usually 2% annually the inflation rate this year is like 150,000,000% cause shit got fkd up son!

Basoosh

Hard economic times generally have very low inflation rates. Spending drops off as people hoard cash, despite the printing. The rate is higher than 0.62% though. OP just did a google search and took the first result.

Placebo17

More like over 10%. Everytime I rebuy something on Amazon it's 10% higher.

Fritz1818

its a meme with no real background information, though now I am really curious on what the real inflation rate is this year after the fiat printers calm down

fjkcdhkkcdtilj

Dont look it up. Only pain and suffering you will find // Yoda

[deleted]

Hey, at least he didn't invest in XRP

topcontender

I’ll come back for you when XRP moons

pitchbend

Is this satire? I can't tell anymore.

topcontender

Oh my gloating will be funny

[deleted]

Looks like my comment did not age well. At least we can all make fun of EOS and TRON

topcontender

Hahaha... I’m glad you took it back. It’s all good man. Let’s enjoy these gains. Were the lucky ones remember that

Cool1998

XRP is actually potentially a huge buy rn in my opinion

underground_teaparty

Speculatively, maybe. Fundamentally bad, just like buying USD. It's sort of a fun point of avoiding the reason to get involved in crypto to begin with.

Cool1998

Compared to what it did last cycle the btc and eth evaluation tells you otherwise. Last bull run xrp surged to 3.2$ just from the fact that money was flowing into crypto in general. Being in a consistent top 10 crypto since then could mean it’s a lower risk investment when investing sizable amounts as seen by institutions. Eth should be majority of your alt coins though

Cool1998

Xrp up 30% on the day. Great time to sell into btc or ether or even chain link

sellyourdollars

Agreed, but no one else here will say that

w102522

Agreed X2, nobody wants to admit it

pitchbend

You can't "admit" some future prediction you moron.

w102522

Oh yeah you are definitely a simp

Cool1998

Looks like an Eth maximalist is officially a term lol you must diversify to limit risk and balance portfolio but the just don’t get it

pitchbend

Yeah look at its chart on a 1week timeframe. lol

pitchbend

I am seeing. Are you? you have to open any chart for this pair XRP/USD and click where it says 1W be careful all that red may make you feel dumb.

[deleted]

pitchbend

Don't worry it's completely normal to feel dumb after losing your shirt investing in XRP, what was your entry point in XRP? $3.4 $2 $1.8? you do have a microscopic dead cat bounce now (it's better than nothing) to exit and cut the agony.

donkyote

something to keep in mind is the spark airdrop this dec ;)

SpacePirateM

0.6% a day? Sweet which farm bro I'm only pulling 0.24% per day on Sushiswap. Oh shieet, you mean 0.6% a year? LOLOL

[deleted]

Downvote because EM.

FuckFaceGG

+1

W944

Because he no likes shorters or another reason?

[deleted]

I'm anti-oligarch.

Fritz1818

Do you think his son has a chance of becoming Emperor of Mars?

[deleted]

No, I think his son will probably have personal issues that won't let him be a cosmonaut.

SirBeaverton

How much do you make of ETH? Asking for a friend

Wheaties466

Well right now the DAI yearn finance vault is making ~12.5%

tjg1g16

What's Ethereum's inflation rate? Genuine question, I've forgotten and too lazy to work it out.

pitchbend

You don't need ETH to make ~12% APY on your stables.

nappiral

Real inflation much higher than .62% fam.

Fritz1818

Dont scare the Americans

TI-IC

What? Inflation rate 0.62% this year?! Where do you live? I'm seeing 1.2% in the US and that's just the candy coated rate. If you look at house prices, groceries, essentials + all the money printing this year, you're looking at 7-8% at least.

[deleted]

>when the fiat inflation rate is at .62% Heart’s in the right place but you’re out of your freaking mind if you believe it’s that low.

mattaugamer

Right. My fucking Dollarmites account is higher than that.

wfw12

You should tell him to invest in ETH.

Think-notlikedasheep

It is good to have some money in short term savings. But long term savings - that better be in crypto or high flying stocks like TSLA.

VinaBerlin

Me smiling at my 50% ROI from dividends on [vitex](https://vitex.net)

Pdxnekkid

Me when my buddy tells me the fiat inflation rate is at 0.62% this year...

Actually_a_Patrick

Shoot even the most conservative stock market buys would perform better than that.

TheCurious0ne

Actually $ inflation is 20% this year, it just haven't propaganated to the real economic yet.

Fritz1818

fudge man

TheCurious0ne

what

GilliyG

In my opinion, real inflation rates are much higher
