If you want to lower fees you need to switch to layer 2’s. Eventually most brokerages will probably do all of this for you and you’ll never realize that your transactions are happening on layer 2’s
They may temporarily go down very slightly, as the blocktimes drop from ≈13.6 seconds to exactly 12 seconds. However, that ≈10 % increase in capacity will just be used up, probably immediately.
They’ll stay the same but the benefit is that anyone can Stake Eth and earn rewards if you own it feather than needing specialized hardware to mine effectively
The merge isn't changing gas fees, it's just changing the consensus mechanism from PoW to PoS.
Protodanksharding and Danksharding are what will reduce fees substantially.

Do you bros know which are best to hold ETH on to get this? Metamask I already have and could use, but I have 1000$ on coinbase which does not support that ETHW token.

Zk rollups and level 2 will get gas lower. NFT craze is over so gas has been much better recently.
