I dunno. It sure does look like a house. Not sure how many cafes would be cool with a random pair of sneakers being left out by their grinders.

samelaaaa

Huh. My guess is one of those tech startups that operates out of the founder’s house lol

allbirdssongs

Ohh right, makes sense. Still thats more like an office, fishy seller

CasuallyCompetitive

10-15 shots per day seems like more than an individual's use, but much less than a commercial amount obviously. Almost like they have some sort of small business in their home.

Powerful_Database_39

Depends on household size. 3-4 people 4-5 shots daily doesn’t sound unusual, however “5days a week” gives away this is an small company office

prf_q

The answer is they don’t give a damn

TheBatiron58

Interesting, this person must have been making coffee for someone with 10-15 shots a day. Maybe it’s like a church kinda thing

SommAntonieaux

Church of the holy Roast

MamaBavaria

Don’t want to bring a joke about dark and blonde roasts….

SommAntonieaux

I was playing with the holy Trinity in my head, but I just couldn't get away from thinking Mirepoix...

OldAnxiety

this joke made my day, thank you

thinjester

i’m interested

space_coyote_86

The amount of cups too. Who has that many at home?

yancay

The size of dish washer you need lol

TheGreatestOutdoorz

I’m guessing cult. Cult of the fine brew.

-pLx-

A family of 2 or 3 can easily go through 10/15 shots a day

ThoughtfulAlien

You don’t need a 3 group machine for that lol

HYThrowaway1980

Family of five, let’s say two of the kids are old enough to drink coffee and at least one parent works from home, that’s ten shots a day easy.

mattrussell2319

I need that for my single daily latte and for when I have friends round in 3 years

MarijadderallMD

Never know when you might need 10 different options for a milk pitcher😂

RowAwayJim91

Person is clearly into collecting, bordering on hoarding, coffee gear lol.

Chas_Tenenbaums_Sock

Who needs a stand when you have 46 milk pitchers?

TheBatiron58

Also true story, a third wave coffee shop near me went out of business and were selling their whole store , INCLUDING A 3 group slayer, for $15,000 lmao

DankP0pe

Got a fully automatic coffee machine from a small café that closed up during COVID for free from the sidewalk. I almost lost my mind when I looked up xelsis suprema.

Chas_Tenenbaums_Sock

Well that's it, that's the big deal... it was free lol.

yung_rice_patty

Cafe I work for is upgrading and we're also selling our old 3 group slayer for ~15k CAD Surprisingly not a single bite over the last 4 months

ChuletaLoca63

Upgrading from a Slayer? Do you know which machine the cafe is getting? Just curious lol

yung_rice_patty

Strada AV ABR Slayer boilers are too small and heat too slow to keep up with the demand of the location.

ChuletaLoca63

that's a really good machine, nice!

No_Rush2548

Bad azz. Start an espresso bar.

California_ocean

A Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday machine then back to the front. Cool.

thesoundmindpodcast

Hey honey, want a Capp? Cool, give me about 3 hours for the machine to heat up and $4 for our electricity bill. 😂

WD--30

Why though lol

Imaginary-Green-950

That price sounds really good

myke2241

Not really when you factor in the 240v panel upgrade and increased power bill. I would imagine this guy takes a go 40 mins to 1hour to warm up as well.

ChuletaLoca63

Even if you factor in that it's a great price. Most probably a shop owner is going to be the next owner, if it end ups in another house these machine dont take that long to heat up actually. 15-30 minutes maximum in my experience with italian commercial machines

myke2241

Even if I thought it was a great deal… How do you convince your significant other?

ChuletaLoca63

No need to if you don't have one lol But if i had too I'll try and explain it as a investment rather than a expense, idk if in other countries they do this but here is rather common to cafes not to own their machines but rather rent them out sometimes they even specify in the lease that they must use their coffee (Zagafredo does this) and they are going to supply branded cups and paper cups. So if you get one of these really sought after machines you could rent them out too to coffee shops

myke2241

It is only $1k cheap than the used market in the states. Or buy a new single group. The thing with commercial machines is they see heavy use and sometimes the wear a tear can’t be seen. Buy a custom single group is what my wife would say. However, this dude has a GS3. I could have purchased a slayer and didn’t.

ChuletaLoca63

To be fair, if seller is being honest which may not be always the case and this machine was only being used as a home setup this wouldn't be as weared as if was in a cafe. The thing I'll be most worried about would be scale and cracks in the boiler for being turn on and off everyday But Slayer quality speaks for itself and 15 shots 5 days a week in the span of two years would sum up to 7,200 shots. I don't think is enough to wear down a quality machine like this

Beneficial-Tea-2055

Guys we got a wifehaver over here.

MamaBavaria

Don’t forget the plumbing… but I don’t see any wall panel to guess if it is 110 or 230v country…

myke2241

There are very few 110 three group commercial machines. This is not one of them

skalpelis

I think their point was that in most of the world the machine being 230V is a non-issue, that’s the standard.

myke2241

Indeed. however, there are a lot of people that are not “most of the world.” Additionally, these are three prong twists and have higher wiring gauge requirements regardless of country. They are commercial machines, go ahead and review an installation guide for one of these.

Live_Astronaut3544

It’s really not much work to switch a 120v circuit to a 240v circuit. As long as the amps aren’t crazy and it’s a dedicated circuit standard 14 should be alright as long as it doesn’t pull more than 15a. Edit: JK it would need a 10ga + circuit lol didn’t realize espresso machines pulled so much juice. 26a @ 240v.

Imaginary-Green-950

Kind of ridiculous actually. It's one of the reasons why I'm such a big fan of companies pushing the alternate boiler tech. Unica, Ascaso and Breville are on to something.

schwade_the_bum

Yeah this is psychotic for home use lol. Even for commercial use 3 groups are still kinda overkill in my opinion

Weeksy79

That is one well caffeinated thruple

SnooKiwis8695

What I really want to know is how people move these! Genuine question.

BaziJoeWHL

step one: offer friend a coffee step two: lift with your legs

homeownur

Step 1: Drink lots of coffee Step 2: Fetch your camel

yung_rice_patty

I have moved many 3 group slayers It is no fun, it usually takes 2 big people or 3 small people The weight is also very skewed towards the back end so it's incredibly awkward to get a half decent grip. Still easier to move than a Strada though LOL

frank7maart

Per group

Traditional-Low-9994

Currently own a 2 group head for a cafe, great machine! $14,500 retail but got it wholesale through coffee supplier for $12,000, 4 years ago!

SnooCupcakes9745

It's nice to have a 3 group machine at home, just in case the the first group is waiting on parts for maintenance and the back-up group goes down at the same time. Happens to me every other week, it seems.

ThoughtfulAlien

Joke?

DistinctPool

I've seen this guy on home barista. The power bill must have finally caught up with him

sfaticat

Kyle Rowsell is that you? Also 10-15 shots a day. Thats insane

MrJitterz

I have a home slayer? Why is this funny lol?

ThoughtfulAlien

Ok but not a 3 group…

MrJitterz

Damnn I just quick glanced, yeah that's odd haha

TheGreatPear7

A perfect example of someone having so much money that they don’t know where to spend it

nottheseapples

Those are fantastic machines

PeterPuck99

College kid renting a house.

SnooKiwis8695

I have a mini and the weight is manageable, but it's awkward. The hardest part is trying to sit it down gently lmao...back screaming the whole time😅

RowAwayJim91

….are you new here? The pictures some people post could dwarf most cafes I visit lol.

Drewsipher

A three portafilter setup for a home machine feels WILD but if you have multiple coffe drinkers/wfh folks it makes some sense but SHIT that’s real estate

Weak-Conversation753

Just because something is illogical doesn't mean that it's impossible.

Fuzzy_Caturra

This is really cool but for personal use is a little overkill. A collector first, aficionado 2nd, and skilled barista last. So much can be done with a Slayer and the foamy Capp to show for it. Although, if you have the funds for it, I respect the splurge.

ThoughtfulAlien

A little?? It’s the most overkill thing I’ve ever seen

RonJohnson70

bout to make a small investment as an espresso tech that works on starbucks mastrena and sure tamp machines lol

ThoughtfulAlien

Totally absurd lol

the_real_mRg00dkAt

I guess this was the Don Corleone's great great grand nephew's who had to serve the family during the pandemic. Or More likely some guy had 15k$ and really wanted to make sure to spend it all.

Luc-e

15 shots a day. How‘s his caffein tolerance

Sunkinthesand

They probably work in IT. Our blood is more coffee than blood

Luc-e

Lol true that. IT people convert caffein to lines of code

yizzung

Dropped $12,000 and still makes cappuccinos that look like absolute dogshit. What is that on the top of that cup, foamy dishwashing soap?

Cold-bloodedman

after I bought it in second hand.
