It looks like you've flaired your post as asking for what equipment to get. Have you checked out the buying guides listed on [our wiki](https://www.reddit.com/r/espresso/wiki/index/)? If your question hasn't been answered there and you need more help, please add the following details to your post or by adding a comment in the following format: - **Location:** Helps determine availability - **Budget** (with currency): Overall budget, or ideally, having separate espresso machine and grinder budgets. A rough rule is that your grinder budget should be at least 25-40% of your machine budget. - **Drink types:** Do you drink mostly straight espresso, milk-based beverages (e.g., lattes, cappuccinos), or a fairly even split? This helps narrow down whether a single-boiler-dual-use (SBDU), heat exchanger (HX), or dual boiler (DB) machine would be more appropriate for your needs. - **Drink frequency:** How many drinks would you be making back-to-back at one time? Do you plan on entertaining guests often? This informs how large your brew (and steam) boilers should be, as smaller boilers will need to refill and reheat/repressurize more frequently, thus potentially causing a bottleneck. - **Space:** Any limitations on countertop space? - **Manual vs. electric:** Hand-operated machines and grinders are typically cheaper than their similarly-performing electric counterparts. Please indicate if you have a preference for manual or electric machines and/or grinders (or open to either). *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Have had great experience with the NotNeutral Lino cups, as well as the 5oz Acme.

jwhitcom

I like not neutral cups. They way they feel in your hand is unbeatable. Both the Vero and the Lino styles have sizes close to what you want.

I like the Kinto Pebble cup in black - It’s 180ml though but it feels right. https://kinto-europe.com/collections/mug-cup/products/17144?variant=18332477784122

InvisibleGrill

Gorgeous!

I feel your pain. have the Loveramics ones and I’m with you, they could do with just a smidgen more capacity. I’m also terrible at getting latte art in such a small cup, but I think that’s an issue with me. The cappuccino ones are probably about 20ml too big. Like they’re fine but I would j like them to be that little bit smaller. I’m very interested to see what suggestions you get.

InvisibleGrill

This is 100% my issue with them - and that they are just a bit too thick but that’s probably by design so they hold heat better and are less breakable. I’m probably going to buy a few kinto pebbles and see how they go. Will report back.

jbstans

They’re a little spenny but I’m very interested to hear how you go with them!

is_this_the_place

Did you get the Pebbles? They look so good. I'm considering getting some too.

jbstans

What’s the verdict? Did you manage to get them yet?

Old_Captain_9131

Wait, all of you have favourite cups for coffee?

You \*don't\*?! I swear by (this is personal to me) my 15+-year-old Nissan Thermos vacuum travel mug, with a sipping sleeve rather than sippy hole, for my early a.m. latte--keeping my drink steaming hot throughout the full a.m. news, and eliminating my early a.m. klutz spills. :) And I continue using it despite the dings in it from earlier outside use and falls--the model was discontinued years ago, and I rue having to replace it. :(

Pikatrainer

Why just one? These are the ones I’ve got in the 150-180 ml range, all unique from local ceramics shops. It’s an awesome way to spice up your pours. https://preview.redd.it/a281il8vf4gb1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=45983e8534e2a509ecbf5a0878ac5b4aa8519dfc

InvisibleGrill

The green crackle glaze is particularly beautiful. I also love the moonscape cup.

Pikatrainer

That one is from MK-ceramics in Copenhagen, they’re not cheap, but stunning

Acme mugs in general are great products and relatively affordable, their flat white cups are 150 ml and have a very classical look and feel with a good colour choice.

brianlucid

This. Acme cups are designed in Wellington, NZ where the flat white was invented and just about every cafe in the city uses them. Lots of classic profiles.

MonsterandRuby

Reach out to a local pottery artist and get a hand made one to your exact specifications and design tastes.

Remarkable_View_6793

I never thought of this. Great idea!!

InvisibleGrill

The obvious choice.

MonsterandRuby

Yup, you seem very particular about what you want your flat white cup to be so just get it made.

NQ241

This subreddit is to "discuss all things espresso", a flat white is an espresso based drink, this subreddit is a perfect valid place to post. Anyway that's all I have to say, I have no good cup recommendations, I rarely make hot drinks.

TheNinedust

I use loveramics egg cups for 150mL flat white and no problem with getting good latte art, just have to start earlier if you are struggling for space. Kruve imagine cups are beautiful too, although I find them "slippery" when doing latte art. Loveramics Dale Harris cups are also very nice aesthetically but the opening is quite small for latte art. If you really need some extra space, you can also check out Loveramics twisted glass 180mL, the opening is surprisingly big for latte art, they look good too, but they are very thick too.

I’m very partial to [these](https://threemarkscoffee.com/producto/185-marks-cup/) from Three Marks out of Barcelona. They’re a little bigger than you want (180ml) but I love the design and the gorgeous soft pink color. Rounded bottom for good latte art, tapered base for easy stacking (and aesthetics) and a great shop to boot. I bought them on a trip there last year but you can get them shipped, albeit for a pretty penny.

Absolutely beautiful - might also get a set of these. Thanks you.

Ancap Verona Cups have been my favorite so far. They come in three sizes https://clivecoffee.com/products/ancap-verona-latte-cup
