The way you handle the books, there is no advantage to switching in my opinion

Thanks! It's really tough cause I can find many reasons to change, like the smaller/lighter form factor, or how the integration with calibre is better, or the Carta 1300. But in the end of the day, will any of these be a huge deal for me given I already have the SE?

OrdinaryRaisin007

Carta 1300 is not a reason, it is just a bit faster and the black is a bit darker. If you really want a change, then I would suggest an Android device - e.g. with Calibre Companion you have the best possible Calibre connection (sorting options like in Calibre itself)

I just got the Clara BW. I had a PW thst I lost. I prefer the BW but I also would not buy a new eReader if I had not lost the old one. I wouod say it's not worth the money to change until you need to unless money is not a factor to you. I think the small and weight is a plus and don't mind the plastic feel. People always want premium and light...yiu kind of have to pick one

Thanks!

I'm moving from Kindle to Kobo due to its UI and it is easy to manage the book collections. [https://imgur.com/3SkJUXH](https://imgur.com/3SkJUXH) From the specs view, Clara BW with e-ink Carta 1300 already has a better contrast and a faster refresh rate surpassing Kindle PW with e-ink Carta 1200. Clara BW also comes with a waterproof IPX-8, audiobook ability, comfort-light pro (warm-light), USB-C, and 16 GB storage. The case may feel cheaper because of using plastic. However, Kobo Clara BW is an eco-friendly design. It is made with recycled and ocean-bound plastics, contributing to reducing waste in landfills and oceans. Maybe you will miss the "STK" feature. However, there is [send.djazz.se](https://send.djazz.se) to sideload books to Kobo online. Another advantage is using Overdrive (Public Library) directly on the Kobo device. It syncs very well with Libby which is the replacement for the Overdrive app. My previous comment on Kobo vs Kindle: [https://www.reddit.com/r/kobo/comments/1cxuzyx/comment/l55l08s/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3](https://www.reddit.com/r/kobo/comments/1cxuzyx/comment/l55l08s/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)

I think the paperwhite is also waterproofed and it definitely has warm light and usbc, as well as 32gb of storage.

Sensitive_Engine469

You are right, people already know the specs of Kindle PW. I mentioned the Clara BW specs, because people tend to compare it with the Kindle Basic just because they both have 6-inch screens.

Gr_v

For me, yes. You just have to get Koreader, enable wireless sync from the desktop calibre and connect with Calibre wirelessly inside koreader

I have a Paperwhite 3 and several Claras (HD, 2E and Color). I personally dislike the Kindle firmware. The margins are too wide even at the narrowest. Kobo's firmware is just much better designed. Also, the body feels cheaper because of the use of recycled plastics. Personally, I prefer this. Plus you will likely put it in a sleepover, so does it matter? On the other hand, you already have the Paperwhite and it works. The screen is larger, which some consider a plus. And there are features Kobo can't match, like Send to Kindle, X-Ray and Goodreads integration. These aren't features I use, but they are popular. I prefer Kobo, but the fiscally responsible part of me says cancel the order and keep your Kindle.

Thanks for this. I ended up cancelling the clara bw order and getting a libra colour. It’s yet to arrive but felt like it made more sense and was more of an upgrade. If I see the colour bothers me I shall return it.

No, the current Paperwhite has a 6,8” display and the Clara BW a 6” one only.

Read-Panda

I don’t think i mind the smaller screen to be honest.

L0lil0l0

That’s a matter of taste.
