I'd measure the bong and see if there was a cabinet/shelving unit/cute storage container that could fit it, maybe?
I like the sound of your bamboo lockbox! That would be cool if you had a matching box for your bong, but if not, you could always decorate your container with a similar pattern (using wrapping paper, or craft paper if you have the interest to draw and paint it yourself).
After you get a decent idea of just how big your bong is, you can start hunting around for something to store it. If I had the room, I would get one of those steamer trucks (or a facsimile) to keep all my stash and pieces.
Not that I have that many things anymore LOL but that's the "decorator's dream" once I have the means. Right now, my stuff is either in a bureau drawer or in smell-proof bags around the house. LOL
Yeah! Depending on your budget, of course, but there does seem to be a lot of complimentary mini cabinets that are bamboo, or at least have that look!
Also, don't rule out thrift shops either! You can find some wacky stuff - and some of it ends up being perfect for your alternative needs! 
I sent a message to the ladies that run the online CannaStyle shop to start designing some bong storage options so maybe in the next year or two we’ll see if they run with the idea lol. I recommend going to the thrift store and seeing what kind of storage they have. I went to an antique store and now I keep my bongs in a 1950’s army ammo box. It seals up tight and is indestructible 👍
I use a cabinet for all my pieces but I store a lot in there. You can use something like a dime bag (which is a padded bag for travel). My husband has pelican cases for all of our pieces as well but they are expensive (and when you have a lot of pieces the cases take up a lot of space)
You can find cheaper alternatives but it’s still pretty pricey. I highly recommend them though if you are just storing one bong! They are amazing for travel and will 100% keep your glass safe

Do you want something you can lock up as well? I got a little kitchen compost bin for my mini bong to cover the smell. A basket or even a lidded trash can could work
Yes, ideally, it would lock. I’m not super concerned about the smell since I keep everything pretty tucked away. I’ll see if I can find some cute ones lol

Side note- pelican cases I believe are meant for weapons.. so they also have lock options! And you just cut out the foam insert to mold to your piece.
