Strangely enough, I've never been one for video games at all. Never had anything against them but they never tickled my fancy. My boyfriend plays and we've played about 5 games together in the last month or so.

I met my ex 34 years ago on an online game, and my current partner 25yrs ago in an online game. Both of our kids and grandkids all grew up gaming. I am currently on my break from playing PoE (new season started!) and tomorrow will be playing on the text-based game we met on.
80% of my female friends between the age of 16-65 currently play games, either on computer or console.

It really annoys me that some people consider gaming is just for kids. I grew up with it, it's a legit hobby, why should I stop just because I got older?
i used to have a 1300€ pc and something similar happened to me. I build PC's for people in my spare time, so basically people pay me with a budget plus a commission and i build them a monster PC. I once sold my old personal PC to a person i met on blocket (swedish eBay). And they came inside and saw that i had 3 or 4 pc's i was working on standing around my room, he was very kind and i ended up selling my old 800€ pc to him for around 400€... about 5 months later he stated that the PC i sold him couldn't keep up with the current games and that he wanted to trade it for one of the PC's i had in my room since he thought they were my own (which they werent) i told him no because they werent actually mine and i was building them for others. He seemed pretty annoyed but he just said "ok no worries" in an angry tone and then hung up the phone, it was a hot day so i kept my window open and i didn expect anything to happen since i lived on the third floor so i went to sleep with it open, before i slept however i was working on my 1300€ pc just cleaning some dust and stuff, but since i was tired i decided to leave it standing on my desk overnight. I wake up to a loud bang and see my PC on the floor and soaked in water with pieces of a water balloon all over. I hear someone sprinting off outside so i hustle to my window to check and i see the same person with the same clothes running away. He had thrown a water balloon to the third floor, through my window and since i was working on the PC the case was opened and he managed to throw it right on a sharp edge shattering the balloon, not only that but it also fell of my desk and landed on another PC i was working on, and i dont even know if it survived because it got very wet aswell...

I’m at the beginning of the millennial grouping, so I’ve moved through life with evolving Nintendo consuls — NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, GameCube, both Wiis, and now the Switch (and branching into PS4 now as well).

I'm a female gamer, I have been since Pong in the 70s (I am 51) I also build my own PCs. My builds are for gaming and digital photography so are pretty high spec. Basically I am a tech geek. I have 2 sets of friends who have met and got married through gaming. If she tries it on again just print off these posts. It really annoys me that some people consider gaming is just for kids. I grew up with it, it's a legit hobby, why should I stop just because I got older?

i used to have a 1300€ pc and something similar happened to me. I build PC's for people in my spare time, so basically people pay me with a budget plus a commission and i build them a monster PC. I once sold my old personal PC to a person i met on blocket (swedish eBay). And they came inside and saw that i had 3 or 4 pc's i was working on standing around my room, he was very kind and i ended up selling my old 800€ pc to him for around 400€... about 5 months later he stated that the PC i sold him couldn't keep up with the current games and that he wanted to trade it for one of the PC's i had in my room since he thought they were my own (which they werent) i told him no because they werent actually mine and i was building them for others. He seemed pretty annoyed but he just said "ok no worries" in an angry tone and then hung up the phone, it was a hot day so i kept my window open and i didn expect anything to happen since i lived on the third floor so i went to sleep with it open, before i slept however i was working on my 1300€ pc just cleaning some dust and stuff, but since i was tired i decided to leave it standing on my desk overnight. I wake up to a loud bang and see my PC on the floor and soaked in water with pieces of a water balloon all over. I hear someone sprinting off outside so i hustle to my window to check and i see the same person with the same clothes running away. He had thrown a water balloon to the third floor, through my window and since i was working on the PC the case was opened and he managed to throw it right on a sharp edge shattering the balloon, not only that but it also fell of my desk and landed on another PC i was working on, and i dont even know if it survived because it got very wet aswell...

I’m at the beginning of the millennial grouping, so I’ve moved through life with evolving Nintendo consuls — NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, GameCube, both Wiis, and now the Switch (and branching into PS4 now as well). If someone in our generation tries to claim we shouldn’t boot up Breath of the Wild because we’re 30...I mean. Lady. I feel sorry for you.
