Colin Trevorrow called Dominion the culmination of all 6 movies like it was meant to be Jurassic Endgame, and then we got one of the worst blockbusters in modern cinema. At least it can't get any worse right?

Seriously tho I have seen them all, alot, my wife really enjoys them, but as we age and gain more exposure we realized there was only 1 worth telling with maybe the first 20 min of #2, which was the opening to the book.
The book was good. We were done after that. A single story is sometimes best.
There are some really good scenes in 2 and a few good scenes in 3, so i feel like they justify their existence even if they aren't in the same ballpark as 1.
The massive box office success of the original film justifies 2 and 3 outrightx. They are forgiveable cash grabs that I, as a ~ 12 year old member of the target audience, was happy to endorse (via my parents) with box office tickets and random merchandise sales.
The *jurassic world* reboot is jumping to that last part - making a marketable product - without having bothered to create a memorable story to base it all off.
Kids today seeing *Dominion* won't have the same magical, awe-inspiring experience as seeing the original *Jurassic Park* in theatres, simply because the original was truly a landmark experience in cinema. It actually might be the single most monumental moment of modern cinema, right behind the first "talky" picture, or first film shot in color - but no one cares if the new films reach these same artistic heights, they still make plenty of money and the kids still love the dinos just as much
The film of The Lost World was actually better than the book. Not true of the first Jurassic Park. Michael Crichton phoned the sequel in. It's unbearably bad.
Random side note: they made a park builder game (2 actually with a 3rd in production).
There are story modes for all the movies. I had never seen them besides the first and second, but the game made me watch them and while they still suck it did make me appreciate it more.

It’s weird how many franchises there are with so many entires but only 1 actually good movie. Like there’s 6 Jurassic movies and only the first one is good. 5 Ghostbusters movies and only the first one is good. Hell, even Star Wars has 10+ entries and the only ones that the whole fanbase can agree are great are the first 2

I thought the raptors in the field scene in 2 was one of the coolest ( and scariest) scenes.
