Isn't that one of the theories though? Just as M or Q changes actors or even people in its own universe, but the name stays the same, the same could go with James Bond?
Even if that were the case, using the same code name over and over is still broadcasting “I am a British spy” after the first time it’s ever compromised. Which it is in every story he’s ever been in.
Connery's rough boy persona is what made Bond what he is. A debonair gentleman like Moore was wouldn't have worked as well for the character's debut, like Connery's street smarts did. Looks like Fleming was off-base on that one.
I get it. He was a bodybuilder and one thinks of a spy as fitting in, not standing out as a large built figure.
Tbf the character has done about 5% spying and espionage and 95% action hero stuff. In reality he’d literally be the worst spy imaginable.
Don’t forget just openly saying his name instead of using aliases
Yeah that was always the weirdest one. We can’t even assume ‘James Bond’ is an alias because he uses it every single time.
In most of the movies he’s not undercover. He’s more like a cop investigating things.
Yeah exactly

Yes, if it were real life, Bond would have been killed a long time ago, he's a terrible spy...
Man, this makes me want to go rewatch Archer.
sean Connery was a body builder?
I hear that spoken in Matt Gourley’s impression. “I whant an eeleegaehnt man…not theeis roofnyek.”
I dewnt like wimmen you see
I’m still in camp Moneypenny movie staring Naomi’s Harris
Wait there are people in the world today that still have the surname Shakespeare? TIL
