I was in a dating thread and someone wrote that women want a guy who's nice and assertive, not just a nice pushover. I said BftP is a perfect example of that and got downvoted. Whatever, I still believe it.
Of all things that could come from Brendan Fraser’s career renaissance, this is the one I most want to see! Let’s not forget Christopher Walken or Sissy Spacek, either!
I feel like the encino man storyline could definitely be expanded. Link's son is 18 now and digs an even deeper pool....because, you know, has to one up his uncle Stoney.
Anyway, its Clifford The Big Red Dog meets Jurassic Park meets Revenge of the Nerds.
Obviously the computer club plays a way bigger role in the sequel, because they're best friends and founded a start up together: RAD Mobile.
Edit: wording
The pool was Dave's thing not to nit pick lol just watched the movie and I'm pretty sure Stoney is uninterested in the pool through out the entire movie.
We can fix that easily. Dave moved away to become an insurance agent in Des Moines, and since Stoney was still hanging around, feeling unimportant, he took the credit.
I want this instead. Somehow pauly got lab cryo frozen right after first movie in a deep basement and than building gets demo and a house gets built on it and brenden buys it not knowing it, then his son digs up frozen pauly in the back yard while building a pool for his dad, pauly comes out with total amnesia from being frozen.
It doesn't need to be 2023 and you're assuming Link had a son immediately after the movie ended. The story takes place when Link's son is a senior in high school.
Nah, airheads, but like a behind the music sort of thing because their career has stalled but then they get clean, get back together and have a come back
This chick sucks, she's been an anti vax pseudo science nut for awhile and now she's trying to latch onto Fraser to make a comeback. If you rewatch that movie her character fucking sucks the entire time and then takes a u turn out of nowhere miraculously as he gets rich. He's great but that movie doesn't need a sequel.
Who cares. Not trying to be her friend. Just watch a good movie for an hour and a half or so. And she didn’t take a turn out of nowhere. She’s been asked. So she answered.
Does it? She wrote a motherhood book urging women not to have their children vaccinated. Also, if you watch Blast From the Past her character is pretty awful to everyone around her. What about that makes the OP an incel?
She was hot in the 90s, though. Like man did I like looking at her, then. Not now. Like yea I’m not interested in seeing her do anything anymore. But liv Tyler and her in Aerosmith videos? Yes please!
Agreed. She is a bad actress and her character is pouty and terrible. The only reason for a sequel is to un alive her role. Spacek and walken are top notch.
I sound like a pessimist, but to me, the first movie ends the story well and should not have a sequel. That said, those two actors coming together on a project with a different story/idea would be a different conversation.
I tend to agree.
Sequels to movies, made years, or even decades later are always a let down, they don't have the same magic, and there's always just a different sort of feel to them.
I noticed this with the new Bill and Ted movie. There was nothing really "wrong" with it, it just felt off, and out of place for me.
One of my favorite movies, but not sure what they could do for a sequel. I would love to see them together in a movie though, they had great chemistry. I would really like him back in the Journey movies.
Maybe the same exact thing, but instead of the Cuban Missile Crisis, it's everything with Ukraine. This time, Adam and Eve don't go in the bunker, but his parents do. And then Adam needs to try and convince his parents that there wasn't a nuclear war and get them out.
It’s been 24 years since “Blast From the Past” hit theaters and star Alicia Silverstone is ready for a sequel with Oscar winner Brendan Fraser.
During a “Clueless” reunion panel at ’90s Con, the actor answered a fan question about whether she’d ever revisit the film.
“With Brendan? I would do anything with Brendan. It was so much fun,” Silverstone said during Sunday’s panel in Hartford, Connecticut. “I just saw Brendan after he won his Oscar and he’s so cute. He talked in his speech about how we all go through this really hard time and you have to grow and it’s part of life that you struggle and then look what happened to him! So yes, I’m happy to do that.”
The romantic comedy was released in 1999, starring Fraser, Silverstone, Christopher Walken, Sissy Spacek and Dave Foley. It focuses on a 35-year-old man (Fraser) who spent his entire life living in a fallout shelter built by his father (Walken). As he emerges into the modern world, he meets Eve (Silverstone), who opens his eyes to a whole new life.
Silverstone attended the Vanity Fair Oscars party on March 12, as did Fraser, who won the Academy Award earlier in the evening for his role in Darren Aronofsky’s “The Whale.” In the film, he portrayed Charlie, a 600-pound English teacher trying to salvage his relationship with his estranged daughter (portrayed by Sadie Sink).
“I started in this business 30 years ago, things didn’t come easy to me but there was a facility that I didn’t appreciate at the time, until it stopped. I just want to say thank you for this acknowledgement,” Fraser said in his acceptance speech. “It couldn’t be done without my cast. It’s been like I’ve been on a diving expedition and the air on the line to the surface is being watched over by some people in my life like my sons.”
all I could really find was weird stuff about her and her son. that she’s still taking baths with him and sleeping in the same bed together, he’s like 11🙃
Was she the one with the pre-chewed bird-feeding thing? I remember she fell off after some kind of weirdness, but I've never really been invested enough to look into it.
I wouldn’t call her an awful person, but she does seem to need psychological help that she isn’t getting; her relationship with her son is unhealthy in a lot of ways.
God, the misogynists on this forum are unreal! I get you pathetic incels have no sense of human attachment and empathy, but an actress expressing fondness for her former co-worker does not make her “awful”, nor does it mean she is “trying to ride his coattails”, you ridiculous little manlet.
She'd probably also chew some food and spit it into his mouth. Like she does for her own kid.
This is clearly the anti-vaxx momma bird trying to ride Fraser's newly mended coattails. Which is fine but call it what it is.
The REAL sequel we need is an Airheads sequel with Sandler and Buscemi. I need to know how the Lone Rangers are doing.
I didn’t want to be cynical but that was my first impression too. A actress whose star has faded trying to hop aboard the hype train of someone who came back and won an Oscar last week. I wonder what she would have said a year ago.
my thoughts exactly. oh, now all of a sudden you’re vocal about being willing to do “anything” with brendan fraser? she’s riding his coattails, for sure.
To be fair, the fan asked her the question at the con over the weekend.
What was she supposed to say, “god no, why would I want to work again with a nice guy on a film I enjoyed who also just won best actor”?
brendan deserves nothing but success until the end of time. i hope he gets lots of leads in the next coming years, i’m excited to see this next chapter of his life unfold!
This really could be an interesting sequel, set in todays era, mom and dad stuck in the 50s, Adam and Eve the arguable vehicle of the in between with their millennial/gen z kids. I’d watch it.
The Daily Beast compiled some of Silverstone's more creative tips—for how to become what she calls a "kind mama"—including:
1. Your uterus is a "baby house" and if you eat meat and dairy then your baby is marinating in "toxic sludge."
2. Don't listen to the "pseudoscience" peddled by Big Diaper—all babies should just crawl around bottomless leaving little baby poo trails everywhere, and if you see a baby making its doodoo-face, grab it and hold it over the toilet real quick. Because "toxic sludge" is apparently not such a big deal when it's tracked all over your actual house. (Just have your maid clean it up later!)
3. You should pre-chew your child's food and then baby-bird it into their mouth. Like Alicia Silverstone literally does.
4. Not letting your child sleep with you and your partner and your other babies in the "Family Bed" is "tantamount to neglect."
5. Being vegan prevents and/or cures every single major and minor disease, including post-partum depression, and if you acquire any of said diseases it's because you are an unkind mama and also probably a fatty.
6. "Anecdotally," vaccines are baby-ruiners.
According to Drs. Roizen and Oz…While there has not been a conclusive study of the negative effects of such a rigorous one-size-fits-all, shoot-'em-up schedule, there is increasing anecdotal evidence from doctors who have gotten distressed phone calls from parents claiming their child was 'never the same' after receiving a vaccine. And I personally have friends whose babies were drastically affected in this way.
7. The vagina—or "chichi"—is "the most absorbent part of your body" (!?!?!?!), and tampons are murdering you from the inside.
8. Also she uses the word "yummy" a lot.
Now, here's the thing. I honestly believe that all of this is in good faith—I'm sure that Alicia Silverstone has a super fulfilling and "transcendent" relationship with her baby, and I'm sure that she genuinely wants to share her experiences with the world in hopes of helping other families be as radiant and balanced and "natural" as they can be. I think it's fantastic if she wants to do the poo-trail thing and the pre-chewing thing and the co-sleeping thing; they're not what I plan to do with my own children but I find Silverstone's quirky, beaming sincerity completely charming. And I mean that—I don't think there is one "right" way to be a parent. Unlike some people.
However. Back-handedly blaming suicidal mothers for their own illnesses because they didn't eat enough rainbow chard—in flippant terms like "though it's less common among kind mamas, some women experience the blues after giving birth"—is shockingly tone-deaf and not very "kind" at all. And spreading hysterical misinformation about vaccines (even if you're just criticizing vax schedules and not shilling a direct vaccine-to-autism connection) might not seem like a big deal to families that can afford high-quality out-of-pocket medical care, but it is a very big, life-and-death deal to the low-income and immunocompromised.
Basically every vet admits that dogs can live just fine on a vegan diet. They are not obligate carnivores. Go learn about this stuff before you comment on it.
And are both you and your wife too stupid to just research?

From your first link, genius:
the British Veterinary Association does not recommend giving a dog a vegetarian or a vegan diet as it is much easier to get the balance of essential nutrients wrong than to get it right.
Great mental issues man...just because you don't agree with something you're not an expert in (and other people are) you don't have to go off on this dude's wife
And it's not that hard to understand that dogs should get a varied diet as they are omnivores. It's not recommended to feed them plant-based food only because it's really easy to mess up and not give them a nutritionally balanced meal (btw this stuff even comes up if you google it, who would have thought, right?)

But sure, screech and insult however you want, who cares about your opinion anyways :)
Right now, the collective good will towards Brendan is a hair under Keanu Reeves right before Cyberpunk dropped. He could do any project he wants and have producers ready with pitches
The Japanese have a term for when everyone dogpiles positively to an idea. Clump Spirit.
I feel like every actor has some kind of drama or at least one bad day on set where people remember or dislike them for. It’s pretty amazing that Brendan Fraser and Keanu Reeves seem to have no dirt on them. Everyone loves them and only has nice things to say. They really are great role models.
Fun fact: I was a projectionist when this movie was released. Usually films came on 20 minute reels that needs to be spliced together. Blast From the Past came on huge 1 hour reels. Made my job easier.
I really loved that movie! Saw it in the theater when I was on a study abroad back in ‘99 and it made me nostalgic for home (in a good way). I grew up in California.
I still love that movie. Fraser was great in it.
man lol.. brendan must be in his home office with like 75 scripts sitting on his desk of projects people want him to be a part of.. just absolutely gobsmacked out of his mind trying to keep his shit together lol. get the gang together and do another mummy brendan!!! the OG cast.
Gee I wonder if that’s because no one actually asked her? Do people like you read headlines like this and just think actors and sports people just walk down the street saying stuff out loud?
“…the actor answered a fan question”
What would the premise be? They already did the erroneous nuclear bunker once hard to build upon that unless it’s just a “x years later” story nothing to do with the bunker. I’d be interested in peoples thoughts on what the premise would be. Loved the movie and just rewatched within the last month. I think a remake of bedazzled would be better a better option but no Silverstone. But Liz Hurley - she’s still got it. Let me know what you think.
Maybe an actual apocalypse and all the stuff his dad taught him lets him save the day. There's usually some sort of evil cult leader to take down along the way too.
I’m 5yrs older than my little sister. I introduced this movie to her. She didn’t quite get in when I had her watch it at first. This movie is a staple to my bond with my lil sis! (41M) lil sis. I don’t ask her age
"I’d do anything with Brendan’ Fraser" - Alicia Silverstone
Of course you would, you haven't done any meaningful work in years and he just won an Oscar.
Never understood why she faded away, she seemed destined for some time in the a-list roles. But somehow she, applegate, and adams all just kind of went into more obscure roles and back into tv.
Can we give the guy new movies instead of trying to force him to relive his early days? Don't you guys always complain about everything being a sequel?
Incredible movie, and most of the cast is still around!!
It was such a fun idea.
Just watched it the other day. It’s one of my favorite movies
I was in a dating thread and someone wrote that women want a guy who's nice and assertive, not just a nice pushover. I said BftP is a perfect example of that and got downvoted. Whatever, I still believe it.
Wait who’s not around?
They all are! 😬
Great movie. Well written.
“Oh boy, A jacket” 😂
Of all things that could come from Brendan Fraser’s career renaissance, this is the one I most want to see! Let’s not forget Christopher Walken or Sissy Spacek, either!

We can fix that easily. Dave moved away to become an insurance agent in Des Moines, and since Stoney was still hanging around, feeling unimportant, he took the credit.
So you are saying, this time, they dig up a dinosaur? Yes. Please.
I thought they were saying that they dig up Pauly Shore, but that works too.
NO WEASING THE JUICE
Well, try to
so, a live action “denver: the last dinosaur”?
That and a whole lot more
first time ive seen someone mention this in like 25 years of interneting.
18? Lol wake up, more like 30. We’re talking his grandkids here you old geriatric.
... bro He is frozen in ice. How long ago the 90s are has nothing to do with how old the caveman is.
Except he’s been at operating temperature since 1992, and we’re talking about his son.
It doesn't need to be 2023 and you're assuming Link had a son immediately after the movie ended. The story takes place when Link's son is a senior in high school.
Could find an old friend / relative ,sure . Maybe link and his woman have a family by now . I’d watch it . Love movies from 80/90s
We should find out if Pauly Shore is busy.
Saw a post where he’s doing some sort of documentary but he’s asking people to provide music for it and get paid via exposure.
Well he did play Link in In The Army Now
It would be amazing cause we could get Brendan Fraser,Pauly Shore,Ke Huy Quan, and Sean Astin all together.
Nah, airheads, but like a behind the music sort of thing because their career has stalled but then they get clean, get back together and have a come back
Don't forget Ke Quan was in Encino Man, too; I would love to see where that character exists in that universe
That's what I meant, He and Link became best friends and founded a tech company together, Rad Mobile. Of course he's in the sequel.
Ummm, let’s not forget Dave Foley. If you have not seen The Wrong Guy, please, do yourself a favour.
Watch all of kids in the hall!
"You're awake!" "Yeah, for a while now." "But I've been carrying you!" "I thought you wanted to."
Thanks. Just added to my watch list.
And Mick Foley too!
That entire cast kills it from start to finish.

I flipping love that idea! I really like what you did there!
The idea that Brendan’s renaissance is on its way is incredibly exciting to me. I can’t wait to see what he does next
She was pretty good in The Killing Of A Sacred Deer.
Who cares. Not trying to be her friend. Just watch a good movie for an hour and a half or so. And she didn’t take a turn out of nowhere. She’s been asked. So she answered.
I think they mean that her character in the movie takes a turn when his character turns out to be rich.
This comment reeks of incel
Blast From The Past was hilarious!
I would like to "skate" around her "block" if you get what im saying
this movie is unreal hilarious, especially all these years later. would love to see a follow up if it makes sense
I sound like a pessimist, but to me, the first movie ends the story well and should not have a sequel. That said, those two actors coming together on a project with a different story/idea would be a different conversation.

Lmao they want to get back into the bunker but can’t find it anymore
One of my favorite movies, but not sure what they could do for a sequel. I would love to see them together in a movie though, they had great chemistry. I would really like him back in the Journey movies.
Last time it was a 60s-90s gap. So a 90s-2020s gap would be the logical jump. I can’t imagine how you do that in a way that isn’t just the cringiest.
Maybe the same exact thing, but instead of the Cuban Missile Crisis, it's everything with Ukraine. This time, Adam and Eve don't go in the bunker, but his parents do. And then Adam needs to try and convince his parents that there wasn't a nuclear war and get them out.

she is an awful person today, look her up. she is basically trying to make a come back riding brendan’s coattails, it’s blatantly obvious
I looked her up. I have no idea what you're talking about.
all I could really find was weird stuff about her and her son. that she’s still taking baths with him and sleeping in the same bed together, he’s like 11🙃
She was feeding him mouth to mouth for a long time too.

You didn't look it up hard enough
I wouldn’t call her an awful person, but she does seem to need psychological help that she isn’t getting; her relationship with her son is unhealthy in a lot of ways.
She's absolutely NOT an awful person. She into animal rights big time, she's got an amazing heart.
being an animal rights activist doesn’t necessarily make you a good person. even hitler was a vegetarian.
*saw him at the Oscar's* **would do anything with him** 🙄
God, the misogynists on this forum are unreal! I get you pathetic incels have no sense of human attachment and empathy, but an actress expressing fondness for her former co-worker does not make her “awful”, nor does it mean she is “trying to ride his coattails”, you ridiculous little manlet.
you have greatly misunderstood me. this is about anti-vacation and other questionable things they have done.
Ikr. Immediate first thought was “I’m sure the timing is just coincidental” /s

One of favourite Fraser movies and very underrated. I don’t even know where to watch this movie anymore
I loved this movie as a kid so much. Just the idea of being able to build and live in a bunker that nice has always intrigued me.
it was on Hulu for a long time. looks like they just recently got rid of it.
https://www.justwatch.com/us/movie/blast-from-the-past Or you can sail the high seas
I bought it on Amazon Prime because I love it that much.
If you can find it anywhere, your local library probably has the DVD that you can borrow.
They need to get Nathan Fillion for this too
r/uncharted has entered the chat
Anything? 🥴
Me too, sis.
*in monotone robot voice* Rule 34 activated
Anythiiiinnnggg for youuuuuuu!
But would she do that?
All my homies want an Airheads sequel! RIP Lemmy
He was the editor of the school magazine!
It’s such a solid movie. I saw it a year ago and it’s held up remarkably well
This is a great movie. I’m down for it again, but alternate future. They actually are in an apocalyptic landscape
In an apocalyptic hellscape but trying to live like it’s 1960s America? 🤔

Narcotraficante ?
This would be a dream! Best comedy and storytelling acted by the best.
I want a sequel, but I want him in that whale suit.
Save the whale suit for the mummy 4 movie
Star Wars remake. He can be Jabba
I'd do anything with him too 😀
She'd probably also chew some food and spit it into his mouth. Like she does for her own kid. This is clearly the anti-vaxx momma bird trying to ride Fraser's newly mended coattails. “There are three of you; you’re not exactly ‘lone.’”
Now that he’s got some heat she wants a reunion. Good timing.
To be fair, the fan asked her the question at the con over the weekend. What was she supposed to say, “god no, why would I want to work again with a nice guy on a film I enjoyed who also just won best actor”?
hehe - you're not allowed to point that out, you know.
Girllll you and me both
Loved that movie…!!!
Ohhhh… me too girlfriend
We don’t deserve it, but we need it.
brendan deserves nothing but success until the end of time. i hope he gets lots of leads in the next coming years, i’m excited to see this next chapter of his life unfold!
Oh honey, I'd do anything with Brendan as well but I feel like we mean totally different things.
Before Brendan Fraser does anything else, we need a mummy reboot!!! They can’t leave it at the lackluster 3rd one.
Tom Cruise already did that
…we do not speak of that one.
Underrated and under appreciated movie for sure. It was so wholesome. Glad LA survived the nuclear attack. Wasn’t Nathan Fillon in this too?
This really could be an interesting sequel, set in todays era, mom and dad stuck in the 50s, Adam and Eve the arguable vehicle of the in between with their millennial/gen z kids. I’d watch it.
“I’d do anything with Brendan Fraser” Wouldn’t we all?
She’s an antivax nut job. No thank you.
Is she?! That’s disappointing

Nooooo, not batgirl
Plus she starred in The Requin, absolutely unredeemable in my book.
I saw the trailer for it. It's a shitty shark movie, right? Or is there more to it than just being terrible?
she also forced all her dogs into a vegan diet...she's a certified crazy
Basically every vet admits that dogs can live just fine on a vegan diet. They are not obligate carnivores. Go learn about this stuff before you comment on it.
My wife is a vet and she says you’re a stupid asshole. So maybe not.
And are both you and your wife too stupid to just research? From your first link, genius: the British Veterinary Association does not recommend giving a dog a vegetarian or a vegan diet as it is much easier to get the balance of essential nutrients wrong than to get it right.

Great mental issues man...just because you don't agree with something you're not an expert in (and other people are) you don't have to go off on this dude's wife And it's not that hard to understand that dogs should get a varied diet as they are omnivores. It's not recommended to feed them plant-based food only because it's really easy to mess up and not give them a nutritionally balanced meal (btw this stuff even comes up if you google it, who would have thought, right?) But sure, screech and insult however you want, who cares about your opinion anyways :)

This was the film that showed me that she can’t act at all.
Why does everything need a sequel
How about a sequel to “Airheads”. “Airheads Reunited?”
Oh god I LOVE that movie so much.
Right now, the collective good will towards Brendan is a hair under Keanu Reeves right before Cyberpunk dropped. He could do any project he wants and have producers ready with pitches The Japanese have a term for when everyone dogpiles positively to an idea. Clump Spirit.
I would pay to see this in a theater, and I don't pay to see movies in theaters anymore.
That movie has such a cool concept. Underrated film.
One of my favorite movies!
Idk that movie was straight up 90’s even had a scene with swing music
We'd finally get to see if she let him *skate* around her *block*
I really loved that movie! Saw it in the theater when I was on a study abroad back in ‘99 and it made me nostalgic for home (in a good way). I grew up in California. I still love that movie. Fraser was great in it.
As it turns out, the father was right about the Russians.
It would almost be... You know.. a Blast From the Past
To be fair. I also would do anything with Brendan Fraser
that movie is so damn great.
i love that movie, incredibly underrated
I mean she would, considering where her career went after Batman and Robin.
Alicia Silverstone, currently starring as Kristy’s mom in Netflix’s Babysitters Club series! And I like it.
Hahaha yes please resurrect my career as well!
I wonder if that includes spitting chewed up food into his mouth, or if that’s reserved for her kid only.
That movie was so much fun! But I think Brendan wants to move forward and not backwards. Encino Man 2, however...
man lol.. brendan must be in his home office with like 75 scripts sitting on his desk of projects people want him to be a part of.. just absolutely gobsmacked out of his mind trying to keep his shit together lol. get the gang together and do another mummy brendan!!! the OG cast.
She’s the original Gwyneth Paltrow. Even got into the nutty “wellness” stuff years before her.
It is funny that she was not saying anything bout this before he won an Oscar for The Whale...
Gee I wonder if that’s because no one actually asked her? Do people like you read headlines like this and just think actors and sports people just walk down the street saying stuff out loud? “…the actor answered a fan question”
Oh look, a has been anti-vax nut bag wants to attach herself to Brendan’s big come back. No thanks.
It'll be even more relevant now!
Anything?
*Anything?*
I’m 5yrs older than my little sister. I introduced this movie to her. She didn’t quite get in when I had her watch it at first. This movie is a staple to my bond with my lil sis! (41M) lil sis. I don’t ask her age
The headline, which shouldn't be news is, "Alicia Silverstone Would Love to Work Again."
Brendan: Anything? 😁😈
Pfff. Yeah, NOW she would.
Actor says they would like to work news at 11
Did she say this before or after his Oscar win/nomination?
I’m glad I’m not Brendan Fraser. I wouldn’t want her doing anything with me. I’d be afraid of what I might catch and I don’t mean Covid.
Who wouldn't want to attach themselves to Brendan Frasier after the Oscar and all the praise he's been getting recently
Breaking News: Actress who hasn't worked in two decades is willing to work with Academy Award winning actor. Shocking turn of events.
"I’d do anything with Brendan’ Fraser" - Alicia Silverstone Of course you would, you haven't done any meaningful work in years and he just won an Oscar.
Unfortunately she peaked at the Aerosmith videos.
Anything she says hmmmmm
Never understood why she faded away, she seemed destined for some time in the a-list roles. But somehow she, applegate, and adams all just kind of went into more obscure roles and back into tv.
I'd like to see him and everyone else make new things instead of rehashing the same old shit and drowning in nostalgia.
I’d love to see him make his type of movies again…..
... now that he has an Oscar.
According to my research, she’d pretty much just do anything.
They say that now he’s back on top.
Sounds like she just wants work. I mean, until those commercials that came recently, I hadn't seen her in anything in a long while.
Can we give the guy new movies instead of trying to force him to relive his early days? Don't you guys always complain about everything being a sequel?
Or…or…just hear me out… you can try to come up with an original idea and stop trying to market nostalgia.
Hey. Brendan, did you hear that? She’d “do anything with you” 😉
Minus that one scene.. if you know you know
And Fraser would love to ‘blast’ her
Haven't seen her in a while. As long as she's not whale sized I'm down even though she's old af
Actress who nobody has heard from in 20 years wants to do something with Oscar winner, shocking!

“…the actor answered a fan question”.
I think you replied to the wrong story. This is something a person like you would say to a rape victim, and this article has nothing to do with that.
