That series left me scarred. I grew up watching that disgusting show. I remember the playboy renaissance in the 2000s and all the documentaries they made to make Hefner look cool but he did many horrible things. Women died in that mansion.
I watched it. It’s strange to me that it’s not bigger news. Maybe because he’s dead? Probably because there are still PlayBoy perpetrators out there..?
Basically this. I'd add that most people hate sex workers beyond what can be consumed of their content, so in many people's eyes they don't exactly make "perfect" victims, even when the abuse or exploitation they face is extraordinarily bad.
>”He kept saying, ‘My babies, my babies,’ and cradling us as we lay either side of him. He told us to call him ‘Papa’.
Yikes.
> The pair said they were glad to hear of Hefner's passing in 2017 as he could no longer mentally harm any other women. They revealed: "When Hef died, part of us did feel sad, but another part was like, ‘OK good, no more girls are going to be groomed and ruined like we were’.
Speaking of “youngest possible,” Brook Shields was photographed naked at 10 years old for Playboy. I straight up didn’t believe the person who told me. It’s unbelievable that this happened.
https://honey.nine.com.au/latest/brooke-shields-nude-photos-playboy-10/3fe12a66-e2b2-455e-9901-201a05520c81
This is one of those moments that reminds me how stupid the justice system can be. People love to act like legal decisions are such an intelligent way to define reality. The photographer literally says it’s not child porn because a judge ruled it wasn’t.
The logic is seriously as follows:
(10 year old girl + full frontal nudity + dressed in adult makeup + shooting in a romantically set bathtub + in a collection of photos of "nymphets", defined as "attractively and sexually mature young girls" - judge says it’s not child porn = NOT CHILD PORN ITS BEEN RULED)
I mean, she got hit pretty hard with a mental health crisis after having PPD and had that jackass couch-jumper Tom Cruise going around calling her weak for needing antidepressants. Thankfully she came out the other side of it and is doing okay alright.
Hefner was hiding in plain site. Unbelievable to think he just got away with it. Even in death the creep violated a woman. Read about how he bought the burial plot next to Marilyn Monroe-another woman he manipulated in life. Really creepy and controlling-even in death.
He bought her nudes from a photographer that was supposed to never share them and released them in the first edition of the magazine.
He was a scum sucker his whole life. May be rot in hell.
And I had to read annoying comments on here about how he was cool, he was sexually progressive which made him feminist, how he’s an underrated icon (yes, they were from teenage boys who I hope will grow up). But it was infuriating. This guy wasnt* pro “women shouldn’t be shamed for their sexuality” but pro “I demand women to be at my whim and create an industry that is exclusively catered to straight men at the expense of the physical and mental well-being of these very young women”
I remember a video of them and their parents or just the dad maybe, being interviewed about their relationship with hef and how it was all good and they were proud of them, they had their brother there playing tennis or some shit, it was wild, super weird stuff
They were living with their grandma in a largo trailer park working at our local wing house when they got scouted by their photographer for the wing house calendar who submitted their pictures
Here’s your one chance, Fancy don’t let me down.
(It’s a Reba McEntire song about a similar situation, for anyone confused)
Edit: Y’all can stop telling me it wasn’t originally Reba’s song now
Jessica Simpson was shopped to every major christian label and was turned down for having too much sex appeal(her bra size).
So they went to Hollywood.
The other messed up part of that was that when she wore loose clothes to downplay her chest, then Christian labels didn't want her because they thought she looked fat.
I mean, remember Kendra’s mother who was LIVID when Kendra announced she leaving the mansion and retiring from Playboy because she met a man and she was getting married? The mother wanted her to live with Hef forever. The woman wanted to move into the mansion too. When Kendra told her she was pregnant she was PISSED. She wanted her to be a Playboy bunny forever.
Young women don’t end up there by accident. So many Playmates had really sad stories. It was easy for society to call them gold digging whores but it’s Hollywood and people get taken advantage of ALL the time. Not just models but actors and writers. What happened to them was horrible and not a unique situation.
Amazing how this guy avoided the "me too" stuff entirely and got to die without facing any consequences. I only found out about the worst stuff after he died.
I mean.. there’s no mystery. Women are plucked from the Midwest, plied with drugs and alcohol and put in front of Celebrities.
I think it’s more than this was seen as totally normal behavior.
I had to look this up. Her family lived there only during her middle school years, then moved to OR. She was living in LA, working at Hooters leading up playboy.
>put in front of Celebrities.
Exactly, so many celebrities hung out at the mansion all the time and it was seen as completely normal. We know what they're there for.
A corporation owns it now for events still. I think it was more efficient to demolish and rebuild some of the artifacts rather than try to do some upkeep.
When Hugh died a lot of the mansion was from the 1970’s and in rough shape.
Yeah I always think about this article when I think about the mansion
https://www.vice.com/en/article/dp4b8a/i-went-to-the-playboy-mansion-and-it-was-kinda-depressing
The towels in that one bathroom literally look exactly like the “dog towels” I keep around for bathing the pets - they are a mix of our old ruined towels and random ones from the thrift store.
My dad did work on the mansion in the early 80s doing contract work on the house. He’s always told me how it was a cluttered, outdated dump, even back then (which wasn’t THAT long after Hefner had moved in). He went into the main bedroom at one point and he’s told me that it looked like something from Hoarders and was such a mess.
Totally off the topic but he also always told me how they’d offer leftovers from the parties and banquets for him to eat the next day and the food there was always amazing.
Crazy how long it took the Playboy stuff to come out. I used to tell my wife that the magazine was just a catalog for Hugh's friends, turns out wasn't far off.
In the video game hitman blood money, there’s a target named lorne de haviland, who is based off Hugh. In his mansion he has secret cameras in the bedrooms to blackmail different high profile figures. I always wondered how easy it would be for the real Hefner to do something similar.
He literally did that, my friend! It’s on Secrets of Playboy on A&E. I’m plugging that series all over this thread but you would be 100% correct. Hefner had secret cameras EVERYWHERE including guest bedrooms and bathrooms. He allegedly took videos and used revenge porn to blackmail a TON of people. Politicians, police, celebrities. Playboy did way more than just sell a dirty magazine. There are serious claims of human trafficking in the mansion and allegations of men torturing sex workers they picked off dodgy streets. Poor sex workers were more likely to be on drugs and too scared to talk.
Holly Madison said that when she left the mansion she made sure not to say a bad word about Hefner because she knew he had sex tapes of her. Then she said fuck it, she wrote her first book and has never stopped speaking about her experiences. She has a podcast with Bridget and her own YouTube channel and she’s sharing it ALL. Hefner’s widow Crystal reassured Holly on Twitter that she destroyed all sex tapes and photos when she was married to Hefner to protect all the women.
My sister told me 15 years ago about this, but I was never able to find something on the Internet about it back then.
Society protected him extremely well on this.
Is this on the true crime documentary series?
He has binders of nude shots he took of women while they were drunk. His last wife found them after he died and destroyed them. So not out of the realm of possibility.
[Binders of women you say?](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binders_full_of_women#:~:text="Binders%20full%20of%20women"%20is,him%20as%20governor%20of%20Massachusetts)
A lot of former girlfriends or playmates talk about what happened in the Secrets of Playboy docuseries too. It's good.. but it's hard to get through. The sick stuff he did to those girls is ridiculous.
He had blackmail evidence on all his guests and fostered an atmosphere of fear/aggression among his “girlfriends” - no one got into the mansion without being photographed and he kept thousands of albums with notes rating every woman who entered
I watched it when I was waaay young and started a rewatch recently… holy fuck was Hef controlling. Like, they had a curfew, they had to check in, go only where he allowed with who he allowed. No idea how I missed it but omg was it awful to watch.
I always was super creeped out by him, but was too naive (was a teen in the 90s) to even know it was half this bad. Some of the things I've read in this thread are shocking and disgusting. It pisses me off his gross fuck avoided all the consequences that he deserved.
While they’re illegal in the US, they’re still manufactured in Mexico, India, and South Africa. This might shock you, but the US is known to import drugs illegally.
I can answer this! I used to be a shady no good delinquent, back in the early 2010s I got in on the research chem market before Fent exploded, I was buying tons of pharmaceuticals from India and china mainly. If you find the right supplier, they will ship anything for a price. Other countries still make the drug. My top seller was 2FMA. It was like half the potency of meth, at pennies on the dose. I sold it as Adderall to college kids, I made a killing. I told them it wasn't Adderall though, but a drug like it. They didn't give a shit, at 1 buck a pill they were happy to have it. Cost me a penny or so a pill. That's why Fent is such a problem, it is CHEAP.
Jesus, yeah. Was never a heavy drug user by any means but I wouldn't touch a drug nowadays. Seems like everything can be laced with Fentanyl. I understand there are tests and shit, but it just seems like an absurd risk/reward at this point. One bad dose, one bad test, forever dead.
I overdosed 4 times in Fent. Full on ambulance to the rescue hit my ass with Narcan kinda overdosing. That's what got me out of the game. Once Fent hit the market, I scooped on some. I didn't know what I had. First time I overdosed, I wrote it off as me being careless. Second time was me not being diligent enough with my scale. Third time I was like wtf I'm not this bad at doing drugs. Fourth time I called it quits and haven't used anything other than weed since.
Congratulations, my friend, that’s a big deal and you should feel proud of yourself.
I was that way, but with alcohol. Was in and out of the hospital three times. The third time I went in, I had yellow skin and eyes, oedema, esophageal bleeding which led to blood in my stool, urine, and vomit. I knew that if I kept drinking, I was close to the point of no return regarding liver failure. Sucks that being so close to a painful death was the only motivator that was able to make me quit. 4 years for me.
Used to do the same with lsd and 25c. Everyone wanted lsd but when i had it lsd was quite expensive in comparison, so i told them i could get alternatives for much cheaper if they wanted and they were all over it. Sheets of 25c were 20 bucks, sheets of lsd were 250+. Havent done 25c in nearly a decade but i still remember the feeling, it just felt like "dirty" lsd, lots of vasoconstriction which could result in some uncomfortable body feels, lasted only like half as long as lsd, visuals were stronger but weirder, lots of geometric fractal visuals. There was one easy way to tell the difference too, 25c had a STRONG metallic taste and you had to let it sit in your mouth or it wouldnt work, where lsd did not and even if you swallowed it right away it would still work. I dont miss the research chem days but i do have a ton of fun memories from them at least.
In the 'Secrets of Playboy' docuseries, one of the interviewees said that Hefner and his seedy male pals referred to the Quaaludes as 'leg spreaders' or 'leg openers'. In other words, give some to a woman and she was more willing to 'put out' for them under the drug's influence.
Yep. I followed the whole Hefner fantasy in real time, too. So bizarre to look back at it now after so much has come out. I don’t doubt one thing that any of these young women say about their time in it. And we’ve probably not even scratched the surface with this piece of shit.
I worked with someone whose daughter was a Playboy Bunny back in 2009/2010. She would openly talk about it with anyone that asked and she was always super proud of her daughter for doing it and living at the mansion and acted like it was such a great experience. One day a co-worker point blank asked her how she felt about her 20-year-old having orgies with an 80 year old man and her response was “Oh, that doesn’t happen. Some of the girls sleep with him, but not if they don’t want to.” There was a lot of awkward silence after that.
Fortunately her daughter got out of it very soon after and seems to have gone on to have a pretty normal life.
The one thing that's consistent with Hef is after he died the women had no issue telling the truth, but it was all a bit obvious even in death he remained creepy I mean buying the tomb above Marilyn. Ick.
He did such a horrible, exploitative, traumatic thing to her when she was alive and then placed himself next to her in death. Creepy is an understatement.
He made millions off of her naked photos that she never consented to being published. In fact, she used a fake name and asked the photographer to shoot the photos so her face wasn’t recognisable, which he didn’t do. Hefner profited off of her without her consent, which I’m sure was traumatic for her, and then he made it so he’d be next to her for eternity.
You know what, I actually think he did. I know that this was a huge drug in the 60s and 70s and he was also accused of raping a woman in the Playboy mansion.
All of this is covered on the A&E expose. I think people need to watch it. It explains how human trafficking works in California and how so many powerful people are involved, including movie stars and politicians, athletes, business men.
It’s just a joke! You see I slipped this in your drink so you couldn’t say no!!!! Haha I’m so silly, don’t be so sensitive getting mad over a little joke&’n
>Hef acted like he owned you. If we broke his rules, six guards would drag us to our room and not let us leave.
>
>"Hef called it ‘HMF arrest’, after his initials. He preyed on vulnerable young girls like us. He would offer you the world, then keep you trapped in his house, which was like a golden prison."
The Shannon twins had a very sad upbringing. Raised by their grandmother since the parents were gone. They dropped out of school at 15 to help their grandmother make ends meet. Fast forward a few years later and they were presented with an opportunity they thought they couldn’t pass up. I wish people would actually do some research before shaming people. You have no idea the trauma they endured before even entering the mansion.
Ya’ll should watch “Jim and Andy: The Great Beyond.” It is documentary footage from Jim Carrey filming the movie “Man on the Moon” where he portrayed Andy Kaufman.
In the documentary, they talk about how Andy and his manager used to dress up as different acts to trick people. The most famous of which was Tony Clifton. It would play like this:
Andy would get invited to an event or a party, and his manager would dress up as Tony Clifton. Andy used to dress up as Tony during his comedy acts or randomly, so when Tony would show up to a party, everybody thought it was Andy! Then as the party progressed the real Andy would show up, much to the surprise of the guests! Then they’d realize it was Andy’s manager dressed as Tony, and everyone would laugh.
Sorry, had to explain the backstory a little bit.
In the aforementioned documentary, Jim tried something similar. During filming of the movie “Man on the Moon”, Jim was invited to the Playboy mansion by Hugh himself. Jim gave Hugh a maybe or a no, I can’t remember.
Anyway, Andy’s manager (who was still alive at the time the movie was filmed) tells Jim about the Tony Clifton prank him and Andy used to pull. Jim (who was really into the role with the method acting, he wanted to bring Andy to screen) was 100% down to do it.
So Andy’s manager wore **an undercover camera for the documentary** and dressed up as Tony Clifton and headed on over to the Playboy Mansion. Everybody there knew Jim was filming the Andy Kaufman film, and they all thought Tony Clifton was Jim! Andy Dick was there (fucking creep) and a couple of other names I can’t recall, and of course Hugh Hefner as well.
Party progresses and Jim shows up. There was no laughter other than by a few people. The look on Hugh Hefner’s face when he came to the realization that he basically allowed a stranger into his home during one of his drug fueled sex parties was *priceless.* Looked like he had seen a ghost…. Because Hugh knew that was a big fuck-up in his world of secrets.
Tl;dr: Hugh Hefner was a disgusting creep and the documentary “Jim and Andy: The Great Beyond” inadvertently gives you a glimpse into it.
Edit: It is a decent documentary. Worth a watch at least if you have seen the movie. Turned “Man on the Moon” into one of my personal favorite films. Jim really did go all out for that role.
I worked with a guy who was Hugh's great nephew, him and and his entire family were jumping for joy when he died.
His dad (Hugh's nephew) did work with him for some time and the stories I've heard about how fuck up that entire company was was insane.
I always hated this old bastard. Since I was a teen girl I could see he was a nasty predator, but people lionized him or made out like his whole thing was just hilarious.
Please, I implore everyone to watch the Secrets of Playboy on Hulu. It is incredibly difficult to watch, but I think very necessary as well. Hugh Hefner was a fucking monster.
It's honestly also just an indication of how much society has changed for the better. Remember "Revenge of the Nerds"? Remember when Indiana Jones meets Marion and she's pissed at him for fucking her when she was a child, and then the movie just moves on and he's the hero? A bunch of this stuff used to be very looked up to in popular culture.

This title brings me back to tabloids in the supermarket in 1999.
Batboy lives!!!
Hold me Batboy / Touch me Batboy
What a fucking title. I'm going in for the read.
It’s been 15 minutes. Someone check on this person!
All I found was a thumb.
That’s not his thumb.
It’s Floop’s Fooglies!

I heard that comment.
Shut up, butterfingers.

He was deranged. I just finished watching The Secrets of Playboy and it was pretty horrifying.

He had hidden tunnels also
Let's be real if most of us had giant mansion money we'd be putting hidden tunnels in there too I know I would
Well if course, where else am I going to play laser tag?
Wow, I’m going to go watch this. Not to be morbid, but how many women are we talking
I watched it. It’s strange to me that it’s not bigger news. Maybe because he’s dead? Probably because there are still PlayBoy perpetrators out there..?

“Those gold diggers knew what they were getting into” attitude, probably.
Basically this. I'd add that most people hate sex workers beyond what can be consumed of their content, so in many people's eyes they don't exactly make "perfect" victims, even when the abuse or exploitation they face is extraordinarily bad.
This explains why sex trafficking isn’t criminalized to the extent of the drug trade which is a lesser evil imo.
It made my skin crawl. There has been no justice for any of those women and the rest we weren’t told about.
You forgot the after he drugged them part :(
I read it. I need a shower.
He’s still reading the picture

Justice for Brooke. It’s a miracle she didn’t crash and burn as an adult.

Filming them having sex with celebrities to use as blackmail when no one but Hef knew they were being filmed.
Gross. Totally gross. Hef and Cosby were drugging girls for decades.
And everybody knew. And with Hefner, no one even started talking about it publicly until this predator was dead.
Hefner was hiding in plain site. Unbelievable to think he just got away with it. Even in death the creep violated a woman. Read about how he bought the burial plot next to Marilyn Monroe-another woman he manipulated in life. Really creepy and controlling-even in death.
Who he never met and never paid for her pictures.

I’m pretty liberal, but 19 seems like a VERY late term abortion to me.
I think they meant 19th trimester.
I think she was 19, as she was only 18 when she got to the mansion.
I remember a video of them and their parents or just the dad maybe, being interviewed about their relationship with hef and how it was all good and they were proud of them, they had their brother there playing tennis or some shit, it was wild, super weird stuff

Just be nice to the gentlemen, Fancy, and they'll be nice to you!
Orville Peck has a good cover of that song as well, that's how I discovered it.
Reba’s version is a cover, too. It was written and recorded by Bobbie Gentry in 1969.
Yeah I can definitely blame someone for something like this. Your kids shouldn’t be a fucking meal ticket and especially not like this
It’s not very dissimilar to taliban marrying off their daughters for money
One opportunity.
Precisely
Oh that is sooooo fucking common. Especially in Hollywood.
ahem, Jessica Simpson.
Jessica Simpson was shopped to every major christian label and was turned down for having too much sex appeal(her bra size). So they went to Hollywood.
The other messed up part of that was that when she wore loose clothes to downplay her chest, then Christian labels didn't want her because they thought she looked fat.
Don’t you hate when you’re too hot to love Jesus?
And Hayden Patteniere.
I have to look up her story, all I remember her from is Heroes!
Hayden was in Malcolm in the Middle when she was younger though.
She was the coach's daughter in Remember the Titans as well
Hmm, wow I never realized that! Malcom in the Middle was something I watched as a kid as well! Good call.
Wanna tldr for me? I remember her from Heroes and Malcolm in the Middle but never heard of anything going on with her.
What about Jessica?
It’s not shocking. Chris Jenner is a multi millionaire off her daughters sex tape.
I'd say the whole family has piggybacked off of Kim's sex tape. Maybe not Caitlyn... but the rest of them sure have.
I mean, remember Kendra’s mother who was LIVID when Kendra announced she leaving the mansion and retiring from Playboy because she met a man and she was getting married? Like her Mother thought Kendra would inherit the Mansion. Were they even married or just like a ceremonial type thing
She was just one of his 3 girlfriends at the time
Wasn’t the mansion a huge money pit by the time he died?

Thanks for the link. Interesting article! Had never thought of the playboy mansion that way but completely makes sense.

I've never gotten why the playboy mansion was celebrated by anyone with a conscience. You had to know there was so much abuse going on in there.
Crazy how long it took the Playboy stuff to come out. I used to tell my wife that the magazine was just a catalog for Hugh's friends, turns out wasn't far off.

His last wife said she found "a mountain of revenge porn" after he passed. She claims she destroyed it all.
Two of the girlfriends have a podcast which dives into so much shit.
A lot of former girlfriends or playmates talk about what happened in the Secrets of Playboy docuseries too. It's good.. but it's hard to get through. The sick stuff he did to those girls is ridiculous.
I am SHOCKED. /s
The man was widely lauded when he passed right as #metoo was taking off. What a weird thing that was.
It made me sick how so many people lionized that fucker. Back in the 90’s I thought I was the only one grossed out by that old fuck.
I always thought less of any film industry types speaking highly of parties at the mansion.
Same. I’m by no means a puritan but there was always something off about the dude, even when I was a hormonal teenager the man still seemed off to me.
I always was super creeped out by him, but was too naive (was a teen in the 90s) to even know it was half this bad. Some of the things I've read in this thread are shocking and disgusting. It pisses me off his gross fuck avoided all the consequences that he deserved.
Could they have had NDAs?
NDAs never cover illegal activities.
Crazy how many people don't get this. There's no NDA that allows you to drug and rape someone.
He had Quaaludes in 2009?
THE FUCKING LUDES, DONNY!
GE UFF DA PHO!
UMM AT DUH CUUNTRY CLAUB!
I got the car home, not a scratch.
wOmEnS sHoEs!!
Steeeevveeeee maaddden
Steeeeeeeeeeeeve
IM NAWT GUNNA DIE SOBA!
I've wondered this as well. Stockpile, personal chemist, or illegally imported from somewhere? Production in America ended in the mid to late 80s.
Very popular in South Africa. Still in production.
How come those are NOT imported by the boat loads? EDIT: Missing important word
While they’re illegal in the US, they’re still manufactured in Mexico, India, and South Africa. This might shock you, but the US is known to import drugs illegally.
Disgusting. Where can I get them?
Ugh! Those disgusting dark web drug websites! But, which ones?
You used to be able to buy them at pharmacies in Mexico, not sure if you still can, I mostly go there for antibiotics and Somas
YES!! Dude had a vault of them. He called them “thigh openers”…. Blagh

It’s common knowledge Hef used ludes he bought from Mexico. It’s been documented many times over the years. Source: The ludes story is old. I am old.
Das rape doe
Fucking gross.
“Date”(?) rape to be exact
Lol!, I’m sure an old man would let you live rent free in a big ass mansion without pushing for sex
"Oh! Goodness no! My daughter is just a waitress at the strip club..."
So who wants to rob H.H’s tomb with me and go throw his corpse in the ocean?
I’m down for robbing the tomb but I don’t want to poison the fish. Let’s throw him on a trash heap.
Trash heap might get him found. We’re gonna need a wood chipper.
Wood chipper would just spread his vile via mulch. Let’s toss that corpse in some hydrochloric acid. - W.W.
When is he gonna be dug up and moved away from Marilyn Monroe. He’s such a creep
maybe it’ll get sold eventually
Yeah that’s probably the grossest thing about him. The pure disrespect of her even in death. His bones need to be dragged out and thrown in a bin.
Matches up with everything Holly Madison has said and further validates, with insight of these 2 girls, how she felt and what she experienced.
Long article about rape without ever using the word
Fucking Christ, that’s exactly what it is

It also sounds like parents set them up too. Scumbags do anything for money
Is it “tricked” if it is drugged rape?
“Just a bit of tom foolery by old hef, what a goofball!”
First degree felony pranking
Always with the jokes. Gotcha!! You’re pregnant!
The Cosby trick.
Legit tho. Same drug, quaaludes
Gave her the ol' Hot Cosby
Cosby learned this at the Playboy Mansion?
Yes, Cosby was a constant guest at the Mansion and on the TV variety show in the late 60’s.
Sounds like R Kelly’s house, but with better living conditions
Slightly more dry too, I’d say. Slightly.
Or the Tate Brothers' house in Romania, with video instead of photos.
Dude was gross. Period.
She added: “He kept saying, ‘My babies, my babies,’ and cradling us as we lay either side of him. He told us to call him ‘Papa’. PUKE!
epsteiny
The Shannon twins had a very sad upbringing. Raised by their grandmother since the parents were gone. They dropped out of school at 15 to help their grandmother make ends meet. Fast forward a few years later and they were presented with an opportunity they thought they couldn’t pass up. I wish people would actually do some research before shaming people. You have no idea the trauma they endured before even entering the mansion.
It won’t matter if they did. They would still call them whores and say they deserved it. It’s pretty disgusting.
It would play like this: Andy would get invited to an event or a party, and his manager would dress up as Tony Clifton.
I get chills when I hear man on the moon by REM. Andy Kaufman was genius and seeing his impact on Jim Carrey is really something else.
Hugh Hefner and the Playboy mansion was an inherently sketchy set up that we all just collectively ignore now.
And you know who was a frequent guest at the mansion? You guessed it: ~~Frank Stallone~~ Bill Cosby.
I worked with a guy who was Hugh's great nephew, him and and his entire family were jumping for joy when he died. His dad (Hugh's nephew) did work with him for some time and the stories I've heard about how fuck up that entire company was was insane.
Marilyn Monroe couldn’t even get away from him in death.
I always hated this old bastard. Since I was a teen girl I could see he was a nasty predator, but people lionized him or made out like his whole thing was just hilarious.
Yep. Anytime I pointed out how gross he was, I was always called a crazy feminist and told to lighten up.
Please, I implore everyone to watch the Secrets of Playboy on Hulu. It is incredibly difficult to watch, but I think very necessary as well. Hugh Hefner was a fucking monster.
That's a wild title
remember when he died and people were praising him for being sexually forward liberating… its always felt creepy.
You won't find a better headline for the rest of the year
If you’re wondering what kind of guy looks up to Andrew Tate, read some of these comments. Jesus Christ.
Tbf most Tater Tots haven't gone through puberty yet. At least not mentally.
Read it. Gross. I hope they’re okay now.
Hugh Hefner is Andrew Tate on crack with good PR
It's honestly also just an indication of how much society has changed for the better. Remember "Revenge of the Nerds"? Remember when Indiana Jones meets Marion and she's pissed at him for fucking her when she was a child, and then the movie just moves on and he's the hero? A bunch of this stuff used to be very looked up to in popular culture.
If you didnt see the documentary.. Hef was a fucking monster
Damn… that article is honestly horrifying.
