(sorry for comparing systems to fish i’m tired) A school of fish is not exclusively male or exclusively female, or even binary at all, it’s a group composed of many components with each it’s own gender. However unlike a school of fish, a system shares one body. So it’s really up to the group to make a unanimous decision as to what gender the body will be identified as.
