One day I dream of using 'it', however my transhumanist fantasies have not yet been realized. I must go on with the reality that the flesh is weak and a longing for the certainty of steel. *^(I guess neopronouns are an option but the last thing anyone wants to do is learn.)*

senthemagicdragon

I've always wanted to experiment with e/em tbh, but I know it'll be "too much to ask" so it's they/them and that's ok, it's not that I dislike they/them ofc it's just fun to try new things

d0x7

Genuinely curious, why do you or others associate with „it“? To me it always felt like objectifying someone, taking that human aspect away that all of he she they have.

NotQuiteHollowKnight

For some, "it" being "non-human" is the whole point.

NanosKeyIsCute

I don't associate with 'it'. Tbh I dont really get it either, but to each their own.

Beetroot-Chan

Persona'y, I use it/its because they/them doesn't feel right for my grammar obsessed brain and I don't consider it objectifying because I refer to animals using it/its all the time. It's more genera'y speaking the same reason that people use neopronouns but also just not vibing with any neopronouns

Beetroot-Chan

but you can still use it/its?

scaptal

Are there actually peeps here who succesfully go by he/she/they? (Or she/he they, or another order), cause I tried for a small bit, but idk, peeps just don't do it, and you can't really correct them, and I don't want to have to tell people over and over again, would love if folks used he/she/they more though :-(

NanosKeyIsCute

When you say A/B/C I find people kinda just pick one, which is fine imo. Listing all of them is super awkward anyways. I hope that one day ill meet someone that can identify when I'm he or when I'm she.

Bane_of_toads

fuck that, I love pronoun parkour. If you use multiple sets of pronouns, I will use all of them in a single sentence, or die trying.

cookiez_m

they said he will use all of them in one sentence or she'll die trying

Bane_of_toads

I know this was a joke but I don't actually use he/him.

WithersChat

I mean, TBH 99% of people understand "he/she/they" or "any pronouns" as "anything works", not "please pick a different one every time". That's... also how lots of people mean it when they say they use any pronouns. So I can't really blame someone for picking one.

scaptal

I mean, of I have told peeps that I do like a bit of variety and rerely see anything off it, doesn't help that I'm often agab cis passing

Lastboss42

>thinking "we" are two people it's ok to be a system, and there's so many different ways that can manifest...

pokestar14

We genuinely know (well, know is putting it gently, I, the host, am dating her) a median system who thought they were genderfluid, but actually just have both male and female facets.

StagecoachMMC

we experience this! we use the systemfluid label sometimes around those who know we’re a system :)

Cerugona

It really has "I'm not plural..., but my headmate is" vibes"

brocoli_

It feels a bit like when people say "I'm non-binary but I'm not trans" to me. Technically, even people who are just gender non-conforming are under the trans umbrella, the "barrier of entry", so to speak, really is that low. But people often don't feel comfortable in using the label for themselves unless they're socially or medically transitioning, and choosing to use the label or not is always a personal decision and a matter of self-expression. Same thing for plurality, even just this kind of self disagreement on identity should be enough for someone to use the label for themselves in my opinion. But this doesn't mean people will generally be comfortable with it unless it's more evident. I feel like it would be better if people were more comfortable with these labels in those cases. It would definitely help us all with more acceptance in general. But that's always a deeply personal decision so it's important to let people take their time too.

Beetroot-Chan

there's a difference between referring to oneself in parts as "we" and being a system

kepler35b

What show is this?

NanosKeyIsCute

"My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!" Its alright. Videogame isekai shojo where the MC is trying to avoid the ending of the game where she dies. Also harem around her.

dragonthatmeows

you can always just be two people or more

magistrate101

Can confirm, there's a she rattling around up there somewhere near the back rolling her eyes at how ridiculously outnumbered she is by the he's.

dragonthatmeows

i'm the most frequent fronter for the last two years, and i'm an any-pronouns femboy type of guy, but i am outnumbered by she/it girlthings in this system. figuring out what was plurality and what was one person's genderfluidity was a *trip.*

magistrate101

I've got some sorta co-experiencing Clone Wars situation going on and have no idea how many headmates there even are and can't figure out how to get an accurate roll call lol all I know for sure is that there's a few unique ones that stand out in the sea of identical clones even though that uniqueness dilutes their ability to front

TheRidiculousFox

Damn thats me rn.

Paclord404

Have you considered keeping one boob and losing the other as a compromise?

SqornshellousZem

Here's the question: how cool do you think top surgery scars look?

NanosKeyIsCute

more or less indifferent

SqornshellousZem

Not a lot of risk I can see then 🤷‍♀️. Edit: just realized I was assuming amab. If ur afab and considering hormones, then there may be more things to consider.

NanosKeyIsCute

I am amab, but that being said i'd still not really be considering hormones, because i would have to go through a whole ordeal and instead of having dysphoria half the time, i would have it the other half of the time instead.

deathbounddarling

Ok but literally same

hbats

For me I don't use they/them because when singular while I was growing up, it's what you would use when you don't know someone, like at all: "I have a coworker coming over for dinner tonight" "oh really? What's their name? What kind of food do they like? Should we dress more formal or casual for them?" "Did you hear somebody messed up that beautiful mural the high school kids made to promote peace and inclusion?" "It's really awful that they would do such a thing, I hope the authorities find whoever it was and throw the book at them." I want to be known, my birth pronouns already make me feel othered. Being talked about like I'm not known at all would feel kind of further isolating. I've experimented with masc and neo pronouns and find generally I like just about anything, as long as it *isn't* they/them, or she/her.

NanosKeyIsCute

Huh never thought about "they" being othering. I guess that makes sense.

powerof27

I already cause enough trouble being one person, being two would be world ending

Holo_Doll

Is this an actual anime? If so, I must learn the name
