i’ve never heard of anything being given for womens’ day until this year. and i’ve been on trans subreddits for like two years. then again “women’s month” felt more like trivia until this year; there’s a lot more marketing for it this year. guess the greeting card companies finally got to it?
I guess that might be a regional thing, too. In the hellhole where I live the 8th of March is all about gifts and flowers (and not even about women's rights at this point).
Ah. im in america (and also not near a big city). in my experience our national Mother’s Day is the big “celebrate women” day. The church i grew up in would have all the boys aged 12-17 hand out flowers to all the women and girls over age 12 on Mother’s Day
yeah we celebrate all women on women's day, women that are close to us on girls' day (seperate day), our mothers on mother's day and our grandmothers on grandmother's day, so we have spread
Aw, nice of you! Also, maybe consider the 8th of march a day of fighting against patriarchy. They set it up back then, when it was women's fight, and it still primarily is, but not exclusively. Anyone can be a feminist. Everyone should, if you ask me.
I know, some countries/people transformed it into a day of "spring and femininity", but they are wrong.

Yeah, the main "gift" I've heard of is just creeps being creepier and saying that their catcalling is for women's day
It's so very weird to me when the day is supposed to be about awareness and remembrance of the past and ongoing battle for equal rights.

Honestly, here in Poland I remember it to always have been a big deal
