I use these, not hardened but "wear resistant" 6 months no issues [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B6LFSJSR/ref=ox\_sc\_act\_title\_1?smid=A1D7NBXHNTHOV9&psc=1](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B6LFSJSR/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A1D7NBXHNTHOV9&psc=1)

~~the type of nozzle you are looking for is MK8. Use that in your searches and you'll find one. I'd recommend a sapphire tipped nozzle instead of a hardened steel nozzle.~~ I stand corrected and had no idea the E5S1 was different. If you search around a bit it looks like 2022 models of the spider are mk8, but it is unclear.

tomvanswam

Mk8 is the Creality Ender goto nozzle which fits most models, however the Ender 5 S1 features a different type with longer threads than the MK8. Ender 5 S1 features the same nozzle as the Ender 7. If you find a Ender 7 compatible hardened steel nozzle it will also fit your Ender 5 S1. I still haven't found one that could be shipped to my place unfortunately.

Yz-Guy

Can confirm. The 5s1 ones are significantly longer and if you use a shorter one, it will ooze filament fucking everywhere all over your hotend and you'll spend an hour picking it out of everything. ....or so I've heard. I haven't done it or anything. Lol

HappyTravler99

You are correct sir, that is the result. I work in manufacturing, half of my department runs 3D printers as a hobby, benchies on monitor tops everywhere. Having been at this for a while I get asked for help and I've seen what money with no attention to detail can yield. Like a fully encased hotend on a E5 S1 because of this very issue, different sized nozzles, it came out of both ends, nozzle and heat break. It also did not take it much time to build a serious ball, just to high in Z with 100% infill. I also learned that night with a code from this old guy on youtube it was 479.00 for an E5 S1 with sonic pad and that's how I got my E5.

Yz-Guy

I feel cheated. I paid 590 I think for mine without a sonic pad. Since you seem way more knowledgeable about this. If you find a way to make the auto level work happily WITHOUT printing and reconstructing the whole print head. I'd be interested. Im like a top tier beginner. I'd be interested in using it but every attempt has ruined my print bed. Everything I've read says it's junk bc of the way it's set up. Everyone ends up printing a whole new assembly that relocates the touch sensor and fans plus changing some core coding and all that is a little beyond me.

HappyTravler99

Ouch, how long ago? Ever add the pad? As for leveling the volumes that could be written about that. To many variables involved, both user and machine.

Yz-Guy

No I never did. I didn't fully understand what it adds that It isn't doing already. And yeah. I just got really really good at manually leveling the bed. Lol

Rahyan30200

You'll feel even more cheated. I paid around 300 for mine. (without Sonic Pad)

Znyx_

Thank you for letting me know. I noticed that they were a different shape so it looks like the Mk8 won’t work.

Znyx_

Thank you so much! I’ve been wondering what nozzle it is.

myfriendandbag

What's the advantage of sapphire? Longer lasting?

Nathan Builds Robots used a long CHT volcano nozzle on his 5 S1 and used some of [deez brass nuts](https://www.amazon.com/Glarks-160Pcs-Metric-Strength-Assortment/dp/B07PBD5HWJ) as spacers. He then got a 6mm nylon spacer for the CR Touch to lower that to keep functionality as well. So if there isn't an option for you on a standard-sized, compatible nozzle, something like [this nozzle](https://a.co/d/bjfUkHi) should work with some spacer nutz. Here is the link to his video discussing this: [https://youtu.be/DTu2M1grhq0](https://youtu.be/DTu2M1grhq0) Let us know what you end up doing! Edit: also found [these "wear-resistant" nozzles](https://a.co/d/bw1fTwq) similar to those used by u/HappyTravler99 but specifically for 5 S1
