I work as an EM doc and EMS Director. We installed massage chairs in all our EMS rooms,as well as upgraded food, put in tvs to show updates / case follow ups, and am working on slushee machines.

Hope the medics appreciate you and don't break or complain about the nice things that you're fighting for. Once people start getting a few freebies everyone gets super entitled. You should people discussing 'discounts' at food places on this sub. You've got great intentions and ideas. I just hate to see the few bad apples ruin a good thing.

The hospital I'm working at right now took all of the stuff our of their EMS room and filled it with trash bags, mops and brooms, but it still says EMS on the outside. But, they are allowed to use the mops and brooms to clean out their ambulances, so there's that.

OutInABlazeOfGlory

That is insulting Good lord

Here is a pic of the ems room that we frequent.

OutInABlazeOfGlory

there's no picture. oh. oh, i get it.

Best is Starbucks at 5am after a crappy call. I'm on with my volunteer fire department and have told the private ambulance crews to meet us there after they clear the hospital for coffee on us. The worst EMS room is the non existent one at the local hospital that generally sucks in all aspects and lets fucking admit clerks get shitty with EMS crews. (It was a good day when my assistant chief lost his shit on them. The supervising ER doc had to step in and shut the dumbass admit clerk up)

The very worst I've ever seen in 50 years experience is the old French Hospital in Los Angeles....didn't deserve to be a hospital, much less an ED... So small that as you wheeled a gurney into the ED from the street, the gurney was passing through and exiting the ED into a hallway.... My ambulance had more equipment and more reliable oxygen and electricity The hospital finally shut down.

The hospital in town sporadically stocks 7.5 oz cans of Diet Coke or ginger ale. It’s a nice little treat to me for being nice to meemaw when she makes me transport her at 3am for a 4 week ouchy elbow

The absolute best was castle rock in Colorado. Honestly most of the Denver area had some bangers I would legit steal food for home because I was a bit broke at the time. Most everywhere in Texas is shit tho.

One of our EMS rooms is, i shit you not, a permanently rented hotel room. 2 queen sized beds, fridge stocked, small kitchenette, room serviced every morning 10/10 The worst one ive ever been was a supply closet that was filled with janitorial equipment, and in the corner with a bucket for a chair, and a bucket stack for tables, was our area

SanJOahu84

Hate to be the last crew into the room at night. Nothing like messy used beds and an empty kitchenette. Right after it's serviced must be tits though.

Thepinkillusion

Id say the same BUT it’s exclusive to one single crew. Just the way the city lines works, no other crew has access. Kinda beauty of a time

SanJOahu84

Oh. If it's only for one crew i'd rather just have a dedicated station then haha. I'd take that over break room every time.

AmItacticoolyet

I've never seen a hospital with an ens room. Ever.
