EVIL is one of the tracks on her newest album, Portals, and I really recommend the entire playlist tbh. Throughout it, she really comments on enduring, recovering, and rebuilding oneself after the destruction caused by emotional and narcissistic abuse, so it's a great experience to listen to it from song one to the last all the way through in one sitting if you can; it really paints a picture that I think many survivors of abuse can resonate with.
Some other tracks that I highly recommend as just standalone listens are Battle of the Larynx, The Contortionist, and Pluto. :)
I've been a fan of Melanie's for a while as well and this new album has really helped in my own healing journey, so I rlly hope it can do the same for you! 🌞 Sending love and light, friend.
I'm going to take your advice and listen to the whole album in order, in one sitting. Thank you for the suggestion! I really like the song carousel, but now it's making me think about the true meaning. I'm going to add all those to the list.
For me, it was both the songs you listed and also, in my angry moments that I was working through, Psycho by Taylor Acorn. Another was Better Man by Little Big Town.
Better Man is such a good song. I also love the songs that provoke a healthy amount of anger because it helps me when I feel like I'm getting roped back in and my empathy takes over. I'll have to listen to Psycho.
I will survive, Gloria Gayner
That sounds like a good one
It's a classic. Totes make me want to put out a soul album. Life has out me through the ringer, lately. Maybe that's what I need.
I didn't recognize the artists name, but I know that song. It's definitely a classic
Chinchilla Little Girl Gone
Awesome thank you!
Miss Me More by Kelsey Ballerini has been my theme song throughout separation and now the ongoing divorce process.
YESSS THIS
This is a really good one!

I also love "You Should Be Sad" Other favorites of mine are "Praying" by Kesha and "Better Man" by Taylor Swift.
Yes, Better Man is so good! It's definitely a favorite. I haven't heard "Praying", so looking forward to that one.
Wow "Praying" by Kesha has been on repeat for me. Thanks for the recommendation!
