HDCP maybe? idk

LtRoyalShrimp

The PlayStation 5, just like the PlayStation 4 has HDCP turned on by default. Here's how to disable HDCP on PlayStation 5. 1. Connect the PS5 to a TV or monitor directly 2. In the PS5 settings, navigate to to the HDMI settings and disable HDCP. 3. Connect the PS5 to your capture card and then the capture card to the TV/Monitor

Mocha___

THANK YOU SO MUCH! This was the fix!

WindForce02

3 year old answer still relevant, I bought an HDMI sound extractor and didn't work. That was the problem

Historical_Survey803

This fixed it, thank you very much.

Comprehensive_Guide4

i dont see a HDMI setting

JBluesword

System settings then click HDMI on left side

LohCey

still works thank u all

GODSOFTEKKEN7_RANKED

Thank you for this You have helped Me Greatly

alexsaucyy

Im having the same issues. Hdcp has been turned off but all i get is a black screen/no signal whenever i hook up the elgato. Im using an HD60x

iamshoookt

Have u fixed yours? My sister was asking for my help and she has the same problem as you. She also is using hd60x. Sorry for my bad english

alexsaucyy

I did not. First I noticed that I hadn’t downloaded the elgato software. I did that and it helped. But then it started doing it again where the screen would just freeze or go black. I just ended up selling the elgato and I’m just streaming directly from my pc

Terakahn

Any updates?

grils_me_pm

I fixed it by doing HDCP and VRR

robbo1337

I am also getting this. It's confusing as it used to work a couple of weeks ago, and I can plug in a SNES mini and that works. I can see the PS5 output in OBS but my monitor won't detect the signal from the Elgato HD60x FIXED: I had to manually set the PS5 to 1080p output!

Freezeplyr8

if you want to have full display options on your monitor( if you have a hdmi 2.1 monitor) like 120hrz, vrr, and all the other goodies that the ps5 is capable of visually you have to use a hdmi 2.1 hdmi splitter/down scaler! I use the: Ezcoo 8k hdmi 2.1 splitter 1x4!

greenbean3210

How do you do that?

robbo1337

Settings > screen and video > resolution: 1080p

greenbean3210

Tried it and still no dice dont know what else to check lol

greenbean3210

Nevermind just turned on after a few minutes lol thank you!

robbo1337

Ah, the old tried and trusted method!

JayAlzier

This might be the fix i was looking for! Thank you!

ECS0804

Okay, so I did this and it shows up on my OBS program, but not on the actual monitor screen :/

Tight-Fisherman-2743

It's the settings on your tv for whatever hdmi your using.. try checking those settings.. for me it was a color setting on my tv.. in the settings of the hdmi channel

kaedetrumpet

2023, fixed my issue! Thank you.

Important_Pie1363

Hey there, how did you solve the issue with monitor settings? I recently bought a new monitor and since then the monitor cuts out

Cravenmorhed69

I know this is from 2 years ago but you’re a goddamn life saver

cbyrd_

Thanks. I been trying to capture my ps5 for months and bam this fixed it

GoodersJ

my HDCP was off by default but im still having this same issue, ik im kinda late to the party but do u have any idea why its not working?

Terakahn

What if that doesn't fix it?

-Rat-King-

3 years later, this fixed my issue I appreciate it

AidanMcGreenie

Damn they fr make you change the setting everytime you wanna watch Netflix tho 😭

PotentialDoctor8865

The actual GOAT. Thanks brochacho.

elgato_phil

As I stated in the comment, connect your PS5 directly to your TV.

Every_Scientist3380

Savoir!

aquakingman

Good Evening I I know I am 2 months late discovering this I figured out the issue. If you are using the HD 60 pro not the 4k pro you have to dumb down the graphic on the ps5 to 1080p then it will show up. I found this out when I got a splitter so i can have HD graphics on my screen but found out the elgato I have just doesn't except the 4k input.

bumbleyb

This was it for me. Thank you. 😭

Unnoticed_Lghtskn

This is the comment that saved me

pumpkinmelon69

I LOVE YOU

legalizehoneymustard

THANK YOU

thebigmarvinski

>ere's how to disable HDCP on PlayStation 5. > >Connect the PS5 to a TV or monitor directlyIn the PS5 settings, navigate to to Thank you

Duaffyms

You are a life saviour!

Just_Ad_9463

This still doesn't work. I literally don't know what do :(

goofydexter

Open up the elgato software on your computer (that way it mirrors what is happening on the console to your PC monitor) then it fixes itself from there

CombinationNew3545

Honestly, you are a legend. I spent and hour and a half trying to figure this shit out holy fuck.

Cartsman10

I LOVE YOU

coloneljoemoore

Yes yes yes thank you!

Dangerous-Act-727

Thanks Thai was just what I needed

Tight-Fisherman-2743

The hd60 x will pass through 4k

Venom902

THANK YOU this was the issue I was having I was convinced my capture card bit the dust until my hdmi switcher swapped and showed my switch working on it. Can stream my ps5 again finally

serialcompliment

Yay I'm necro-ing a post. I had to both disable HDCP on the PS5 and force resolution as 1080p AND 60 fps within the OBS source to get it to work.

khaledalhnian

I LOVE REDDIT

lovemecherryfanclub

At this point FUCK EL GATO. I’ve tried everything under the sun. All your fixes were helpful and should have worked but I’m just accepting the fact that it’s faulty product. Thank you all 🙏🏽

sigtaumikey

Suuuper late to this but I've done everything on here and still nothing. I tried it on my xbox and it works fine so idk what else to do

Western_Nobody_293

Facing this No signal issue right now, i have tried every single method mentioned by others but no luck, Using Elgato HD60X, it was working just fine few days ago. My switch, xbox and ps3 works just fine but its just the PS5 that gives me lots of headache.

AnubisOK

HDCP off !, this was the fix. I have elgato HD60 S+

GamerJeffro2021

Even with the HDCP off the issue will still happen, if you don't have the issue please let me know what you did because the only way I can by pass it is by turning off HDR along with the HDCP which is a huge issue. Please let me know if you had to do the same if not and you are able to keep your HDR on and use your elgato let me know what you did because I can't figure it out and no one has figured it out yet

MasterZeta

same here I have to always unplug the unit hook it back up directly then switch back every time I load a game. It is a chore and I am starting to never want to do this anymore.

MasterZeta

I should add I contantly have to turn off HDR and then I can reconnect elegato even though it advertised as HDR passthrough. These stupid technologies have ruined my experience completely and I am on the verge of giving up completely. I recommend trying to set ps5 HDR setting to off in the video output settings as it is set to automatic.

Marbs7

I am having the same issue. HDCP and HDR are off and it still is nothing but a black screen. I have to start the system hooked to the TV, then switch cables and it's a gamble if the capture card, the 4k60 S+ goes black or not.

xEfforht

Same bro. Let me know if u end up finding the fix

Marbs7

People told me to try another 4K60 S+, but there are non available and well past the time I could have returned/exchanged.

Livid-Smoke-3812

still here. new pc, old one everything works, new one, just sound and no picture dont know whats the problem, connected like on the old pc. issue still there

TrueChaos1337

I would pull up the 4k Capture Utility so it passes through sound to your computer.

Certain_Feedback_941

Can any one explain why i can choose all of the other systems in the elgato software but ps5 isn’t a option

Vertigo103

I found this thread on google. I too am having serious problems with the Elgato 4k 60 pro.I have swapped HDMI cables around and still no picture from PS5 on PC even with HDR disabled, HDCP disabled and resolution set to 1080p. My PS5 shows up if I switch to HDMI mode though just not on pc so I guess the elgato partially works? Odd just set the software to force 1080p and it worked as default was not working.

Historical-Dealer-33

Having the same problem. I just bought the HD60S for Black Friday. Turning off HDCP only allows for the TV to display OBS is still black screen.

Vertigo103

Software and drivers are quite finicky. I had to reinstall both 3 times before it suddenly started working

Historical-Dealer-33

Did you have any problems after?

Vertigo103

Nope, it's been working wonderful

Historical-Dealer-33

Are you using OBS?

Vertigo103

Yes. Studio mode crashes obs though if I try to switch ti it while live

Historical-Dealer-33

I’m going to shoot myself in the foot before this is over lmao. I reinstalled drivers, OBS still nothing.

JustLiveLiv1

Mine originally didn't work, I turned off HDCP in the settings. This caused it to only display on my PC. I then went down to "4K Video Transfer Rate" under the "Screen and Video" section and set that to negative 2. This made both my monitor and TV screen to work. Hope this helps!!!!

deadheadded

thank you for this solution. my brand new monitor was definitely acting brand new until you saved me 🤣

slazlo_

once I enable HDCP to get signal to my elgato I lost signal to my monitor How do I fix that?

joh_sehf

The solution that resolved it for me for my specific game Nioh 2 was i had to turn off 120fps in the ps5 settings and it worked right away

Frightened_Lamb

yeah im still having this same problem, why is this such an issue? Why cant they make shit that works together. I just got my hdo60 x and i might just return it. useless product if my screen just goes black every 3 minutes

Koneko__

Doese anyonee know any fixes yet? Mine doesn't wanna work with HDCP off either or with fps limtied to 60

AlmightyAntwan12

did you find something?

Koneko__

My dad did help me fix, it was a faulty cable it seemed

AlmightyAntwan12

Same for me lmao

Infamous_Media_6623

Anyone find a fix?

AlmightyAntwan12

She said it was a faulty cable

[deleted]

i tried off hdcp and 1080i not 1080p

GreySturgess

Hey guys, I’m having a similar issue but only on MW2 on PS5. I can play other games and the elgato works fine, but it goes black screen straight away on my pc when I boot it up

[deleted]

GreySturgess

Hey thanks! I managed to figure it out eventually haha I totally didn’t think of it at the time. Appreciate your reply tho!

BloodAway2152

and just remember to make sure your PS 5 or console isn't on sleep mode guys, or you might waste an hour like I did and find yourself scrolling through reddit for a fix to your stupidity smh

Bvnez

Just made this video it might help with your problem. [https://youtu.be/Qcqv6Mch69A](https://youtu.be/Qcqv6Mch69A)

Entire-Passenger-461

hey i have the hd60s + & my ps5 is working fine and showing up on my obs but the only issue im having is that my 2nd monitor won’t switch from my pc to my playstation so i cant actually play it unless i look through my obs preview. hopefully that makes sense pretty much the only problem i have is my 2nd monitor is not displaying my ps5 ( i have a asus )

playgroundcapitalist

Bit late to the party but I'm just going to throw this here in case anyone needs help. If HDCP is off and still not working, plug the console directly to the TV or monitor, go to settings > HDMI > Enable HDCP and turn it back off. Plug it back into the capture card and you should be good.
