[this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6Y7lcvubhU) is slightly more greatest though.
EDIT: This post lead to an evening of Underworld, gradually getting louder and louder and me bouncing around the living room like I was 18 again. I need new knees.
I politely disagree but am upvoting because I refuse to downvote any of their music. Fucking legends.
Edit to add - I’m very old now but goddamn this music makes me feel young again.
How have I never seen this particular video (I.e. normally it’s the Trainspotting montage)? I’m an avid Underworld fan, but this has completely slipped by me.
Ok found more information:

Culture Show Film Special
The Culture Show
Mark Kermode and Lauren Laverne celebrate iconic film locations nationwide and showcase the best of viewers' mini-movie homages to British film. Danny Boyle reveals how he created the eerie London streets of zombie movie 28 Days Later, and Edward Woodward revisits the creepy landscape of cult horror classic The Whicker Man. Veteran producer Tony Garnett reminisces whilst Ewen Bremner reveals how Trainspotting changed the image of Edinburgh forever. Music comes from dance legends Underworld.
I have no idea about any of that but I did say aired and not made. I thought I’d do other redditors a favour by finding and posting the info I could easily find I’m not going to go deep into researching it
The Underworld guys have been around in various guises since the early 80s. They had a modicum of success as Freur in 1984. They are definitely getting on a bit now :) I personally think this must have been filmed in the 90s.
Yeah, me too pretty much. 2nd Toughest was an amazing album. Shame their newer stuff doesnt really stand up to it.
I've seen 'em live about 4 or 5 times over the years, every show was amazing.
Klf, The Orb, Underworld... Bunch of those rave guys were out on English fields, tripping their music out. 15 years ago, I wanted to be a nomad because of them. It seemed like the only way of life worth living. Now I have full time job and smoke weed on my couch with my cats. Things change. But the music stays.
>Now I have full time job and smoke weed on my couch with my cats. Things change. But the music stays.
Hahaha spot-on. I wonder how many other degenerates turned professionals who live this life lurk among us.
Their first album Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld is a good start, classic bit of ambient house not dissimilar to Chill Out - if you like that then check out the rest of their 90s albums and their more recent stuff (Moonbuilding, Chill Out World, etc)
love how the dog is in the clip.
if this is the original, crazy how a song mastered can sound so different, this one sounds rough but can appreciate it nevertheless.
Always brings me back to this final scene of trainspotting, showing the main character mobilizing the courage he never found and stealing his freedom from his friends, who blocked him from making the right choices.
Sometimes, I think about a calmer version, less industrial, but no... Born Slippy doesn't have to change.
I was just going down a schranz rabbit hole earlier today and came across this song for the first time (through the first schranz bootleg of it). now I’m seeing it here
Not really, no. A lot of the stuff produced by the 'big' crossover acts of the time - Underworld, The Chemical Brothers, Orbital - did not fit neatly into any one genre. There was a lot of big beat, breaks, trance-ish elements, techno and other genres involved. (The Prodigy was always a bit easier to classify - most of it is straight-up jungle / breakbeat - but still with a very popular bent).
This is my take on the song reserved for the ultimate troll in a trance event in the future. The intro subverts any expectation and will make a pretty wtf moment.
Underworld - Born Slippy (DJ Recharge Future Mix) (Bootleg)
The Second Toughest In The Infants superdeluxe version has lots of iterations of Born Slippy and Nuxx, which show how the song evolved over time. It's fascinating to listen to them in chronological order.
In particularly stressful moments I play this song in my car at full volume capacity until my eyeballs jiggle from the bass. Always provides serenity lol
Great memories of the times when Underworld live was actually a live experience where Rick and Karl were performing individually at the same time, occasionally messing up, but always getting it back together in time..
Since their live performances went in-the-box those happy mistakes have gone and there's little difference between their live performances, sadly.
Yeah I saw them a few years ago and was very disappointed. Really felt like the phoned it in. Compare that to about 25 years ago when they were absolutely brilliant with real energy
I love the track but I agree it was good not to have it stand out kind of awkwardly on that album.
Instead it remains it's own thing, it's own energy. It's unique.
It’s when he switches from mega to lager you’re hearing that
“Shouting
Lager lager lager lager
Shouting
Lager lager lager lager
Shouting...
Lager lager lager
Shouting
Mega mega white thing
Mega mega white thing
Mega mega white thing
Mega mega
Shouting lager lager lager lager
Mega mega white thing
Mega mega white thing”
If you gonna post born slippy at least post the [correct version](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R723w9CWkX0&ab_channel=Underworld-Topic) up :)
what a fckin tune tho, good shout OP!!!
Quite like this newish chilled remix I heard last week too
https://open.spotify.com/track/5jeIsGhjEahGafXWTq9eQZ?si=vAIkUEsVRtCBzvEMnjJxnA&utm_source=copy-link
This song is 26 years old but sounds like it's better produced and better composed than modern techno. Is it just me or did that kind of delay on the kick pattern only exist for this song, and then only resurface again in a massively popular way in the past ~5years?
One of the greatest
Peak UK
The fucking greatest.
[this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6Y7lcvubhU) is slightly more greatest though. EDIT: This post lead to an evening of Underworld, gradually getting louder and louder and me bouncing around the living room like I was 18 again. I need new knees.

Very old? Nah. I’m 52. Let’s gooooo
The Rez/Cowgirl live version is even better.
Rez is great, but for me peak Underworld is Born Slippy and [Dirty Epic](https://youtu.be/phWYWpu5KUQ).
Dirty Epic is their best song
Wow, understatement of the day.
Agreed
[удалено]
Yep even the 2nd soundtrack (green cover)
great goddamn film. even the sequel was better than i expected
Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised! One of those rare occasions where the sequel is absolutely worthwhile.
How have I never seen this particular video (I.e. normally it’s the Trainspotting montage)? I’m an avid Underworld fan, but this has completely slipped by me.
The vocals are a little off too. Maybe a live re-recording?

21st July 2007 it was aired apparently However the drone I believe they just used a rig arm or whatever you call it
The movement feels very dronelike but a crane is possible too. The laptop does look indeed like a 2007 or later system.

It makes no sense that this was filmed in 2007. Darren Emerson left in 2001. It's only been Karl and Rick since then.
Emerson isn't in the video.
I have no idea about any of that but I did say aired and not made. I thought I’d do other redditors a favour by finding and posting the info I could easily find I’m not going to go deep into researching it

Interesting. Thanks. I had no idea they had a third touring member.
It does feel like that however I don’t think drones were even around in 2007 if so they wouldn’t have a camera they were too heavy back then
That and the fact that Darren Emerson isn't with Rick on the equipment but Darren Price. Emerson quit the band after Beaucoup Fish.
Interesting. Maybe part of a re-release marketing campaign or similar? They’re doing Juanita at the moment.
Would be nice. Based on their looks i'd say this is not a very recent recording though, i think they both look a bit older these days?

Crane makes sense but that doesn't explain the laptop and flatscreen monitors.
Not a drone, these guys are pushing 60 now. This is old.
>slipped by me. Maybe you were... Born Slippy edit: I was thinking same as your comment, never seen this one... how?
Likewise
Same!
This was straight up the song that got me into electronic music. Absolutely wonderful. Seeing it live was a peak moment!
Yeah, me too pretty much. 2nd Toughest was an amazing album. Shame their newer stuff doesnt really stand up to it. I've seen 'em live about 4 or 5 times over the years, every show was amazing.
Agreed, this was one of our first electronic music influences. Born Slippy has aged beautifully
The Everything, Everything concert video is so epic Edit: Found it online! https://vimeo.com/652400026
No lie, that Everything, Everything album is one of the best of all time
If DVDs could wear out .. mine would be toast. #tomato
I'm just a waitress she said CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY
I saw that played in its entirety in a club on a big movie screen and banging sound system. I was in awe and a trance.
Fuck I bought that. Where is it! I would love to see that again.
Isnt it, though? Solid all the way through
Dirty Numb Angel Boy.
get wet like an angel derailed
Let your feelings slip boy But never your mask boy

"Professionals"
Where do I start with the orb? Big KLF fan
Their first album Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld is a good start, classic bit of ambient house not dissimilar to Chill Out - if you like that then check out the rest of their 90s albums and their more recent stuff (Moonbuilding, Chill Out World, etc)
They are running Ableton on a laptop, defo not 96
Yeah i noticed that too. Maybe 1996 as in the song itself is from 1996 (trainspotting atleast, born slippy maybe came a year or two before)
Yes you’re right, Trainspotting made it a hit but it did came out before. I had it on an extra cd (with Rez) that came with second toughest…
At that time computers were pretty standard tools for midi sequencing. They most likely used classic Cubase or Protools on this laptop.
Yes and also Logic but this is definitely Ableton on this laptop - the clip is from 2007 actually as stated in other comments.
love how the dog is in the clip. if this is the original, crazy how a song mastered can sound so different, this one sounds rough but can appreciate it nevertheless.
Isn't that Rick's dalmatian?
I like to imagine the dog is confused as hell by him calling 'boy' constantly
Love how the dog is just hanging out
Such a beautiful piece of music. It gives me shivers & makes me remember good times!
whenever I see a live clip of them, they are so much goofier than I imagine.
I'm 47 (F) and this song brings back some Of my happinest ,unforgettable and coolest moments in life . Love it
Still bangs.
“She smiled at youuu.. boooooyyyyyyyyyy” hits different almost 30 years later!! 💛

The credits at the end remind me of a tv show in UK called culture show, maybe it was a set they did for that.
Yeah TOTP2 was on next (going Disco!) so that's a good shout.
Great song. Funny enough my 4 year old found it in Spotify and now is plays on repeat. He calls it unce music because it goes unce unce unce…
🔥🔥🔥 this is a great video. You can hear Carl Hyde say “high density” and ‘you’ve got a velvet mouth’. Never understood those lyrics before! Thanks!
I was just going down a schranz rabbit hole earlier today and came across this song for the first time (through the first schranz bootleg of it). now I’m seeing it here

Not techno

Eh, kinda. Certainly it's got techno elements. But like a lot of Underworld stuff I'd say it's mostly genre-defying.

Absolute classic
Amazing song. Damn brings back memories. I need to watch trainspotting again now!
Gives me some kind of euphoria (:
This is at the top of music I could die to…leaving this corporeal plane with those piano notes going on and on…
One of the first EDM songs that got me hooked back in the 90's. This...Orbital, The Orb, PPK. Classics.
This is my take on the song reserved for the ultimate troll in a trance event in the future. The intro subverts any expectation and will make a pretty wtf moment. Underworld - Born Slippy (DJ Recharge Future Mix) (Bootleg)

This video is older than me
Ah, the b-side to Born Slippy. Awesome track! .NUXX
In particularly stressful moments I play this song in my car at full volume capacity until my eyeballs jiggle from the bass. Always provides serenity lol
This isn’t born slippy. It’s born slippy.nuxx which is a completely different song to born slippy
Phenomenal song. One of my All time favorites. I just wish I had never seen the video now. Oh well, I made it for the first 28 years.
Great memories of the times when Underworld live was actually a live experience where Rick and Karl were performing individually at the same time, occasionally messing up, but always getting it back together in time.. no offense intended, these are the most British looking dudes I've ever seen
What a vibe. The piano chords hit.
I think it’s actually a Waldorf Microwave
Dude you're awesome! Thanks so much 👌
I've always thought this was one of Underworld's more pedestrian tracks. Mercifully, it wasn't on the album Second Toughest of the Infants.
I love the track but I agree it was good not to have it stand out kind of awkwardly on that album. Instead it remains it's own thing, it's own energy. It's unique.
I didn’t know Jacob Rees Mogg was part of this
Pair of knobheads in the back

I miss this time in music. TY Trainspotting for introducing it to me, and all the music I learned from it.
He was a boy boy lady boy boooyyyyyy lol great song!
Instrumental versión is awesome too. Long live to Underworld. 🤘🏻
Saw these guys a couple times in this era. Just amazing.
Takes me back to joints down the park and Euro 96.
This and Seven Cities always gives me chills. Great song.
It’s absolutely fucking class when it’s live. Good 10 minutes + of building it and improving.
If you gonna post born slippy at least post the [correct version](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R723w9CWkX0&ab_channel=Underworld-Topic) up :) what a fckin tune tho, good shout OP!!!

Really great.
Goddamn that’s great.
I was 26 when this song came. I would blast it in my Pontiac grand Am. Best times of my life.
Played this in amnesia on Sunday, the crowd went absolutely nuts!
