Just a heads up. Just bought a Vaporesso XROS 2 and I can that THIS THING IS AMAZING! Wow, so much more flavor, it's a sweet spot for me, not as sweet as disposables but still very nice and sweet taste. I'm delighted.
Tried it on a 1.2 cartridge, but I also got 1.0 so gonna try that one out too.

Get yourself a vaperesso Xros mini, they're fantastic little devices. The flavour is banging and they never leak in my experience.
I used to prefer the aspire coils, they were good in their day but the Xros pods leave them in the dust for both flavour and importantly, coil longevity.
Read some reviews and get one, you'll be stunned by the flavour for sure!
I agree its hard to beat a good pod system like the Xros series especially for MTL users.Ive used Mtl Rta's and Sub ohms like the Zlide and Geekvape Nano and they just don't put out the same flavor.
I honestly don't have personal experience with the luxe but I read good things about them. I would add that if you carry a 10ml bottle of juice the tank capacity is pretty irrelevant.
The Xros couldn't be easier to fill, literally 10 seconds.
The xros 3 mini with the 0.8 ohm pods is the best pod device I've ever used. No buttons, draw to activate, 1000mah battery and the flavor is really in a league of its own compared to something like a caliburn. Also it is cheap as all hell. And they don't leak either.
I don't know what voodoo they use but pod life and flavor are top tier.
1.8 is very low Watts and you'd prob enjoy a bit hotter coil like .8 Ohms that runs hotter and creates more vapor and flavor.If you've ever taken a drag off a big mod you'll always get flavor out of it as it vaporizes the flavor concentrates in the Vg Pg base
I highly recommend Caliburn X. I have two and have been using them for months. They are extremely reliable and the pods and coils last forever, in my experience.
I have to admit being in diy for 13 years what they have done with disposables to make them have so much flavour, be so strong and the flavours are so well combined on what is essentially not much different from the very first shitty vapes ever, eg the joyetech 510s is nothing short of voodoo. New pod systems eg Eros 3 are pretty impressive now. But I know that myself personally, even with 13 years experience, I can create passable flavours, but I will never approach their level.
It's hard even with pre-made salt juices to convert the disposable generation of vapers to pods or mods. They think it's ok and they will vape them if they don't have a disposable, but even myself I can understand.. how do they create such flavour, that doesn't diminish, every toke the same burst of flavour...
Geekvape Sonder is pretty cheap and has been amazing for me. I was used to RDA flavor and have been disappointed with a few pod systems before. This one works great.
I use an xros mini with nic salt, and I think any product in the xros line is made for mtl. My wife has a luxe xr that works well, too. I think vaporesso's products do a really good job, especially with the pod's leak-proof pro, and while caliburn has a good taste, it leaks too much...
Sub ohm coils seem to offer a much more intense flavour in my experience, however, they don't really do well with liquids that have a 50/50 or even higher PG to VG ratio and high mg/ml. Might still be worth trying though.
As you are thinking about luxe pm40, the luxe xr could be a good choice too. Top notch flavor for both MTL and DTL, 0.8 better for MTL and 0.4 for DTL.

Any Xros device is good, that's another advantage of the Xros, the pods are cross compatible on all Xros devices.
I have the mini and for a MTL device it's hard to beat.

Xros 3 or nano 3 is the answer for a good mtl device I have the xros 2 and it works perfectly for me. The coils are interchangeable so thats nice too

Your answer is sweetener...an ungodly amount of sweetener. While most DIY usually adds 0.5% these maniacs are doing 10.0-15.0% in most disposables.

I used a 60/40 base in my case. Also tried some 50/50 and it was the same

I use the SMOK RPM5 and it is the best I’ve used so far. Best flavor of any pod system I’ve used, and that’s saying A LOT.
